motoblur on our heros. google motoblur and read about it.
i have been working on it for a few weeks now. im just not sure if its worth it with toasts sauce and official coming out.

nay
I love innovation and forward progress. Also appreciate the amount of work the devs are doing.
BUT as far as MOTOBLUR, i believe it's a step back in terms of system speed and optimization. I think it's geared towards younger generation, kind of like what MS is doing with the KIN. Idk, I hear it's a system hog

Just do it. ull be the first person to have a motoblur rom for hero. i would love to try it out. JUST DO IT!!!!

very much so. i want to wait until the 2.1 update for blur. but its just a great concept and a really nice rom that you could show off lol.
and as stated above it would be a first. i think i will continue work.

Yea go for it, it would be nice to have on a Hero instead of a crappy motorola phone. lol

I actually want this. please continue

I would love to have it.

well if you look at the speed factor and the eye candy factor I think it is worth looking into I don't have a lot of time but if you make a vm of it I could look into helping you out.
Sent from my HERO200 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk

I'd give it a run

Is give it a try, think it would be kinda cool

not crazy about the look of it but i may try it out.

I'd certainly give it a try. If anything though, you would be the first person to have MotoBLUR running on a Hero.

Would this be 1.5 or 2.1

1.5 for now. They don't have blur for 2.1 yet, but I hear it's scheduled for 3rd quarter.

Ok you should def. Be done the throw toast n flipz new kernel in there and have a oc'ed blur Rom

Wait what about the devour its running a 1.6 version of blur

isnt the motoblur hardware challenged compared next to the hero? correct me if im wrong, but that would be some fast, smooth eyecandy. and 2.1 possible? dude i would rock this on my phone all day long.

Ok seriously...noobnl was our only dev on the cyan team. Is anyone planning on taking it up?
Noobnl can you plz just cme back for a litle get it booting and working ill help!
I had the evo, and noobl your the only reason I switched to the epic. You need to be on the team.
Ok I'm off my soapbox promise
About cyan...could we just replace the anroid.com.phone from the one on the epic? Its the fc u get when u boot up. Id imagine some libs would have to be screwed around with. I'm not that good but am a quick learner so please get at me if you know how to compile and can lead me in the right direction.

I must say Noob, You will be missed. Your andromeda ROM was the first one I tried out on my epic, and I have been eagerly awaiting CM on my phone, but I understand that work/school comes first. I go to college and am an assistant manager at Best Buy Mobile myself >.< the drains on ones time are extensive. But for all the work you've done, thank you!!! Here's hoping you'll leave with Cyanogen Mod Bang!

WOW, didn't except this at all. Very very very sad to see you go Noobnl. Thank you for all your work! We all owe you tons for your work in the community. Hoping to see you back soon
There's a few other people working on this, too. Noobnl did most of the work and effort, but that doesn't mean that because he won't develop anymore this will be dead.

well I guess the main differences between the ACS and the CM Team are that the CyanogenMod team is just better!
I jest I jest. I have used both CM6 on other phones and Syndicate on my Epic and I appreciate the work any dev does. Especially considering how barebones the Epic forums will soon be if things keep going the way they have.
However, the main differences with CM6 and Syndicate have less to do with tweaks and more to do with source. CM is built from the ground up off of pure old android. Off of the original sdk from Google. Syndicate is more or less based off of the latest and greatest Samsung firmware. CM6 isn't just customized to be light (although its always been a huge plus) it also comes with things that just aren't possible through any other ROMs. Touch to focus inside the camcorder for one, or swiping away notifications ala webOS style. Also building in a modified version of the way Sammy did the power widgets in the notification shade from SCRATCH. The menus are much more functional in CM than anywhere else.
The only way to really see why people get so excited here whenever the words "CM6" and "Epic4G" are mentioned in the same sentence is to try it out on a supported device yourself. Than you will see that CM6 is established. They have long been around. They don't just modify ROM's, they create. They make the product that I would love to see come stock from Google. CM6 = One of the best experiences you will ever have running android on your phone. Period.
That is all.

If it's anything like the current alpha, it's sure to be a winner.

I had CM6 on MTS3g for about 2 months and loved it,CM6 is pure android and is probably the best rom I used but what im sayin is tha Syndicate is pretty damn close to CM6 in terms of responsiveness and speed, but CM6 got extra settings. So if its compiled from scratch what benefits it has over say Syndicate rom besides having more samsung and sprint sht removed?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I've had about 12 different phones in the last three years or so including the epic. And I have to say one of the most exciting in terms of modding core behaviors was the palm pre. webOS was an OS that almost anyone could gain dev access to and tinker with. Android is (in my opinion) more powerful, and because of that it takes more know-how to mod it, which is why devs like BTThomas22x and all of the ACS and Noobnl and many many others on here deserve a lot more respect than they are given.
But, again, personally, I have yet to really see anyone take android and mold it the way the CyanogenMod Team has. I bought the epic on day one, mainly for the screen and the hummingbird.. but I almost chose the EVO at the last minute because it already had Cyanogen on it. The wait is long.. but the results will be worth it!
I wish those dumb mf's that make webos would just make large screen phone, webos is really atractive but small screen keeps people from buying it,how those corporate people keep their jobs is beyond me.

LMAOOO I totally agree! Then again, thats part of why palm sunk and was bought up by HP. The hardware didn't attract enough customers, so dev's didn't really support it, so app's not enough apps got made, so even more people stayed away from it. pretty soon a lot of devs left it too. Its a sad thing when an OS launches with only 14 apps. and its even sadder when 3 months later nothing has changed.
And all of this is totally skipping over the fact that Palm chose to launch on a carrier that didn't have the service it needed and didnt get the advertising to survive.
Ah, well. We're getting off topic tho lol Android for the win!

Lol. I agree. People always laugh when I tell them the Pre was on of my favorite phones. All it needs is better hardware, then more people would buy then the developers would develop.

[ROM] Final Froyo Release for Emerald by CCRoms V2.02 Next Up Gingerbread

Welcome to the final release of Froyo, by the CCRoms team, which means you guessed it, we're switching gears to Gingerbread after this release. With this release we managed to get the Evo/Emerald going as intended(sorry for the wait.) The Galaxy S style pulldown power widget has been implemented in this release as well. Gem settings have been completely re-written as well, to provide a more intuitive and easier to understand interface for everyone, and of course bug fixes abound.
downloads available at: http://www.ccroms.net
Note:
Droid X users, at this point there is nothign more we can find to do to improve battery life. When/If the battery starts to drain fast, gets sluggish, or gets hot, reboot the phone this will put the race condition causing all of these problems back to sleep, unfortunately there is no way to put the process back to sleep once it wakes up and if you kill the process kernel panics and the phone reboots anyway.
who ??? !! @[email protected]
Uh.... yeah... Im pretty sure this is for Droid X only.

Its against the rules to post a rom that link to another site just to download. Would recommend just posting the actual download link and not a link to the site.
Need some screen shots please, have no idea what exactly this is.

From what it looks like, its just stock AOSP.

This is a pretty solid rom. I tried it out back when the first Evo alphas showed up. We just haven't seen this dev much in the evo world.
If it means anything to people, Cyanogen even follows the original dev. He also posted about the dropdown a while back.

To be fair, i never said there's no way of ever getting 4G to work, i just said that there's no way to get it to work on this release of Emerald as I haven't looked into any of the work cyanogen has done with it. As I recall the wimax work they have been doing is still very alpha.
Regardless, I also don't ever recall toting myself as "great" either, so I don't really appreciate the sarcasm. I work hard to try to produce something that I feel is worthwhile and people might enjoy. Nothing more and nothing less.
Just flashed. Running pretty nice. Wish there was a clear vm option though. Im one of the unlucky phantom vm icon recipients. Otherwise very nice.

ok cool... misunderstood
I'm so used to CM it is hard for me to get away, but this is a really nice clean ROM. It was probably the best non-CM AOSP build I have tried, and it doesn't have the little bit of theming that CM has. It lacks some of the special features of CM, but adds some cool ones, like a built in WiiMote app.
Kudos to the gem team.
I remember hearing about this rom awhile back. Doesn't hurt to have options for AOSP roms

Have you tried the ported Gingerbread ROM?
Launcher7 is a pretty good Winphone7 ripoff. also, there are plenty of good roms out there, CM6.1 is damn near flawless, and the CM7 gingerbread roms are getting a lot of attention as well.
oh also, you posted this in the wrong subforum, way to go.
I've tried CM6 but after awhile the launcher would restart a lot, ZenROM is good but links don't work on there, and half of the other ROMS are just htc sense with a few extra perks. I want something like the desire or windows. None of that other ****ty mess of a waste of my downloading time.
Wow...and boys & girls, this is why they should still distinguish between winners and losers in school. There is the option, if you don't like what's here, to make your own, with whatever features you want instead of complaining about how the devs are not catering to your every whim. Just an idea. A good one, too, IMHO.
As an aside, I'm not intending to jump on you, just stating a simple fact. Now, if the devs were properly compensated for the hours of hard work they put in, maybe you would have a leg for your complaints to stand on. As it is, they hardly are and you don't have any reason to complain.

a port of windows phone 7 would be less functional than most roms since none of the LIVE connections would work also its compiled for a different processor than ours along with the hero being 1/2 the needed clock speed looks like you got some work ahead of you.
As far as motoblur, seriously its like 1 step above aosp and it has nothing attractive to offer also same thing happens they are using OMAP processors if I remember right, the hero uses ARM also all of the projects you said arm close to impossible
So get a new phone or learn how to alter time and space
As for your question about the desire im pretty sure all they have is either sense our aosp like us, I think they have a miui rom too but the same issues would arrise a group is trying to port that as well.
So stop wasting server space with your nonsense and get a phone that does what you want, either way read a little before making demands.

Its compiled for different processors its the same reason why we don't have MIUI for the hero, also since its closed source writing drivers would be very difficult and last but not least just sheer horse power even if some how we got a port up and running we have about half the specs that Microsoft requires to run it

To explain the negative feedback you've gotten thus far, porting to the Thunderbolt is far more complicated than to the Droid 1. The part of the OS that interacts with the radio is (as of yet) unique to the Thunderbolt and essentially has to be reverse-engineered. Slayher and toastcfh are working on a port of CM7 but it is an extremely difficult project for this reason. It's a whole different ballgame on this phone. Nothing to do with the amount of love for it. If there were no love for it, Slayher would not be working so hard to develop a port of CM7.
Who are you referring to? Verizon or the modding community? Verizon continues to hype their 4G network and the Thunderbolt with it. I'm sure HTC has Android 2.3.4 so we'll see what they do with it. The modding community has been pretty good about building off the most recent AOSP builds, but with the Thunderbolt having the 4G radio it has taken a little longer. Give it time. The OG Droid has been around much longer and more people own it than the Thunderbolt. As people upgrade you'll see more and more development for this phone. Personally I'm very happy with how quickly the Thunderbolt was rooted and how quickly devs started tweaking things.

Official updates? Probably not till later this summer and who knows if it will be 2.3.3 or 2.3.4. We'll likely see if in CM 7 long before an official OTA

Considering the fact that this phone has barely been out for a month and a half i think the dev is going pretty good. I think that's why people are giving you crap for this post.
There's a few threads on getting 2.3 working on the thunderbolt so its a wip at this point. Htc is supposed to release 2.3 "soon" anyways.

Hey, don't knock the OG Droid. That was a great little phone. It was my first Android phone.
The only reason I made my comment is because all the OP needed to do was click on TB development to see all the ROMs and support for this device. For only being out a month, there's a crazy amount of support.
OG Droid still rocks, I have one in front of me.
But dude obviously doesn't remember the wait for 2.1 on the OG.
put a nice silicone cover on it (sexual references meant) then show it love!
Only then can it be shown proper love .... lol
Sorry had this coming <<<<<
Anyway The Devs Are Doing The Thunderbolt Much Justice and are working and slaving for this device so there showing the love

When does it stop, what are you after?

I've been running CM7 for over 2 months now and I have stopped coveting any new roms, or any tweaks at all. I came to Android from iPhone when the Dell Streak came out and I was obsessed with what new things I could do with it. I couldn't wait for DJSteve or someone to tweak it some more. I came to Infuse with that same motivation and flashed and flashed and flashed whatever folks came out with just to try it. Then I got CM7 and only waited a short time for some small kinks to be ironed out and I can't think of anything I want my phone to do (although having less shutter lag on the camera would be great). So, with IOS you have the same OS for a year or so and get some improvements, but with XDA and the awesome DEVS you really get all kinds of options.....So here I am, extremely happy with my phone, rarely checking XDA for anything new and I'm wondering..........what "more" do you want? ..........

+1 on the Bluetooth .. would be SWEET if someone can ever get it working.
On another side, also with CM7 .. for the Infuse, fix the front-facing camera resolution issue .. this camera ain't 640x480 only !!!
I want it ALL THE WORLD.....
The world is not enough...
Bluetooth would be nice. I'd also like to see some real 4G. I know it is in certain places, and it has nothing to do with the developers...
Hoping when gingerbread is finally released officially for our phones, maybe we will see some small improvements... but like you said... there's not much besides the tiny tweaks... and maybe.... getting them to fly .... haha
EDIT: OH YA!! I almost forgot the most important thing... I would like to see reliable working GPS... I have tried all the tricks I could find and it takes soooo long to get a lock and when I finally do.... suddenly I am a mile off course... Samsung GPS.... tisk... tisk
I'd like my HDMI to work again

I'll stop when I'm bored developing? ;-)
I want ICS all up in my Infuse. ;-)
ICS would be awesome but for some reason I think it'll be like cm and never be a perfect running rom always has bugs. But I have my fingers crossed.

Part of the fun of Android is that you have the choice. You can take something and be perfectly happy with it like cm7 and run with it, or you can push on to the limits and invent new things as you go. That's the beauty though is that it's up to you, not the company releasing it, not the community, not your mom. It's YOUR choice how far you take it.

I'll be happy when I can get a ROM that will connect to a PS3 controller and be able to output HDMI video. After that, I'll probably stop checking XDA altogether except once every few weeks for an ICS ROM.
