[ROM] Change the perfected SPL HBOOT 1.33.0010 to 1.33.0009

Hi all,
Finally today I got my hands on two RUU_Sapphire: Singapore ROM and Indonesia ROM with S=OFF!
For those who have been looking for ways to root HBOOT 1.33.0010, this might be your ticket.
My HTC Magic initially was HBOOT 1.33.0010 and did not come with any Google applications (no Android Market either). After update, it is now running with HBOOT 1.33.0009 and all Google applications are there including the Android Market. Exchange sync is also available.
Steps that I did:
1. You must have the HTC Sync software installed and working before running the RUU application.
2. Turn phone on and connect to computer with USB cable.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_signed_NoDriver.exe. This turned the S=ON to S=OFF. Follow instruction to Update ROM.
4. Phone will reboot.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.16.707.3_SG_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
I uploaded both RUU in RapidShare. Could someone pls download and re-host the files elsewhere coz RapidShare only allows 10 downloads of each files.

Seems like a much simpler way to get past the "Perfected SPL".
Running these steps will make the MyTouch 3G as simple to root as any other 32B right?

AFAIK..this for 32A, don;t know if it will work on 32B

As lesjaw pointed out, this is only for 32A board. I believe MyTouch 3G uses 32B board.

Buildnumber: 2.17.401.2 146733 CL#42748 release-keys
Is this what i need to do to be able to change get root access and flash new roms? Makes me afraid when the exe files says asia...

I can confirm that mine had the same HBOOT, PVT, and date. Not sure about the CLPD and Radio version.

Nice thing with this RUU file is that it will refuse to update the ROM if it detects incompatibility. It rejected my first attempt where I started with the wrong RUU file.

Does this mean that once SPL changed........we can just pop in any modified ROm from this forum (including hero) and update ...essentially it will be rooted???

soo wierd, i got same cpld and radio and spl but i get an Error: Customer ID-Error or something like that after the program uploaded the update file
EDIT: Think i got it to work! Just needed to change SD to a Gold Carded...

What RUU file did you use? I have the exact same version as you do/did, but it won't let me. Is it because I have an Europe version? (Asia in filename)

How to root PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H; HBOOT-1.76.2007?

Hi guys! just brought a G2 fews days ago.Here is my G2 status :

Its seems up to now there is no solution to root the machine after i read tremendous articles.
The is no difference between bricked and unrooted magic coz too many restriction applied.
I am so disappointed with my Gphone..coz its not a convenient phone for everyone which somehow i think WM is much better...at least you dont have to go through a complex procedure to gain higher acess right which i belonged to..
Anyone know how to rooted this crap? Please tell me with many thanks !

Don't post messy thread!!! If you don't understand process of flashing, you will probably kill your phone.
Read forum, try to get more patience.
After all, you can simply flash any ROM with tag [radio 6.35] - CursorSense, Gyd [6.35] or other... they are with root

OHow can you flash any Rom when security status is on ?
S-on .pls tell me!? Others said h-boot 1.76 version is a prefect spl. I just wonder you can flash any Rom sucessfully

You must be kidding!
You wrote that you have HBOOT-1.76.2007 which is an engineering SPL with S-OFF (it's even written on the first line of the fastboot info you provided). The one people have problems with is 1.76.0007 which is a perfected SPL. You should read more carefully next time.
You can already do everything you want with this phone and I'd be surprised if you didn't have root access already as the installed system is probably Cursorsense (this is only a guess but it's been the only one able to run on this Radio version until recently). I'd also bet there's already a custom Recovery on it (boot the phone holding home+power to check that).
With this setup you can flash any ROM that is compatible with the 6.35 Radio but you can also revert to an older Radio/SPL combo if you need to.
Check the main thread about this setup. It also explains the downgrading procedure. Check the wiki if you need more basic knowledge before proceeding.

For now there is no way to change the 1.76.0007 perfected SPL and so you can' t gain root privileges. You' ll have to wait until a newer ROM version is released from HTC, in order to use the goldcard method to change your perfected SPL. Or until someone finds an exploit for the particular SPL.

I have the same problem

You must make a goldcard, in order to avoid the CID check, when running the RUU file of the new ROM. I have to warn you that you' ll end up with the 1.76.0009 perfected SPL, but on the other hand you are already stuck to a perfected SPL (1.33.0014). If you want to downgrade to a non perfected SPL (using a goldcard), you' ll have to wait until a new HTC ROM is published or someone finds an exploit to the current SPL.
You can find a tutorial, on how to make a goldcard as well as the link to the RUU, in my blog. It's in Greek, but you can use google translate on the sidebar to translate it in your language.

but it wrote "wrong model ID..." so i need to use GoldCard method?that method is flashing SPL!i wont brick my phone so i continue to search solution..
next one was cyanogens wiki part "Non-Tmobile 32B Magics" but at rooting proces it wrote "downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)" i found solution on XDA by Amon_RA but that way direct me again on GoldCard and flashing SPL.
is some safe way to root this deviace?Send me tips or solutions how to root this deviace without flash SPL.how much safe it is?can be crashed SPL flash recovered?

I was in your exact same position and it took me four or five weeks to find a solution – I did read that one of the rooting guides on the cyanogen wiki did work, but I know that I had the same HBoot details as you.
You will need to get another SD Card to make a GoldCard there are a lot of steps to follow but it is worth it – just make sure you follow the GoldCard instructions closely

i root it without Goldcard method or flashing SPL.
for those with same SPL as me i found right sappimg.img that works with my SPL verison.I chose tutorial at unlockerz "How To: Root the HTC Magic in One Click!" now you can make cupcake 1.5 without "wrong Main Versio" or "Wrong Model ID…" i use unlockerz tutorial to cupcake..those 6 steps.

My Touch3G SAPP310 dead after downgrading 1.5!

i have MT3G with 3.5mm jack headphone, after trying downgrade it to 1.5, phone was dead, i repair phone boot by Medusa box, on phone's label was printed SAPP310, but when repairing, i must choice SAPP100 if choice SAPP310 i cant repair it, i dont know why, and now phone can boot to Hboot, but cant uprade any ROMi tried to find Ship ROM but not found. have anyone got it, please give me the link (mediafire),

ask at the general section, you will get more response since it's the right section for problems.

I never faced with hardware Medusa Box, but how did you restore phone?
Write all steps please.
My idea: replace or add hboot/radio when they are going to the phone.
What hboot/radio has phone after repairing and before flash RUU?
SAPP31000 must have hboot 1.33.0013 and radio 2.22.28.25
