Hi all,
Finally today I got my hands on two RUU_Sapphire: Singapore ROM and Indonesia ROM with S=OFF!
For those who have been looking for ways to root HBOOT 1.33.0010, this might be your ticket.
My HTC Magic initially was HBOOT 1.33.0010 and did not come with any Google applications (no Android Market either). After update, it is now running with HBOOT 1.33.0009 and all Google applications are there including the Android Market. Exchange sync is also available.
Steps that I did:
1. You must have the HTC Sync software installed and working before running the RUU application.
2. Turn phone on and connect to computer with USB cable.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_signed_NoDriver.exe. This turned the S=ON to S=OFF. Follow instruction to Update ROM.
4. Phone will reboot.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.16.707.3_SG_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
I uploaded both RUU in RapidShare. Could someone pls download and re-host the files elsewhere coz RapidShare only allows 10 downloads of each files.

Flash at your own RISK! You could brick your phone by doing the above.

Seems like a much simpler way to get past the "Perfected SPL".
Running these steps will make the MyTouch 3G as simple to root as any other 32B right?
AFAIK..this for 32A, don;t know if it will work on 32B

As lesjaw pointed out, this is only for 32A board. I believe MyTouch 3G uses 32B board.

Buildnumber: 2.17.401.2 146733 CL#42748 release-keys
Is this what i need to do to be able to change get root access and flash new roms? Makes me afraid when the exe files says asia...

I can confirm that mine had the same HBOOT, PVT, and date. Not sure about the CLPD and Radio version.

Nice thing with this RUU file is that it will refuse to update the ROM if it detects incompatibility. It rejected my first attempt where I started with the wrong RUU file.

Does this mean that once SPL changed........we can just pop in any modified ROm from this forum (including hero) and update ...essentially it will be rooted???

soo wierd, i got same cpld and radio and spl but i get an Error: Customer ID-Error or something like that after the program uploaded the update file
EDIT: Think i got it to work! Just needed to change SD to a Gold Carded...

What RUU file did you use? I have the exact same version as you do/did, but it won't let me. Is it because I have an Europe version? (Asia in filename)
Hello to all,
I have a 32B HTC Magic from Vodafone Spain with a 1.33.0007 SPL. I have been looking arround for a few for info about this SPL and it seems to have small amout of info about it.
I guess this is a perfect SPL, but its not listed in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218
This SPL does not allow to flash it using the fastboot method, a "remote: not allow" error, making it more difficult to make some hacking, such as changing the splash screen.
Even though, I was able to change the recovery image and flash some roms using the "one click method" with no problems.
Now, I am thinking of changing this SPL using the recovery image that I already have installed, its the recovery-RAv1.2.1G, so I can use the fastboot method to make some hacking, such as change the damn splash screen.
The problem is that there are a few SPLs, and I don't know which one is the most appropriate to my phone and has less chances of brick the phone.
Here are some more details of the phone:
SAPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-2.22.19.26I
Using the "recovery-RAv1.2.1G" recovery image and the "Smartphone France ROM by spfrance - Based on HTC Magic, dedicated for European users" rom.
Can any one give me a help here?

Most people suggest 'Engineering SPL 1.33.2005'.
Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or simply search.......Final result will be a ban for you up too 3 days.

I flashed my htc 32b with this method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218) by using file (2.53.707.2_-_sappimg) but something that I do not understand not my htc became 32b H.
What should I do to render unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar?

flasha different radio and SPL that for your phone. For the fender mytouch, the only way for us to get it to say Sapphire pvt 32a is to reflash stock radio and spl after loading a rom. so try a different spl/Hboot... ONLY if you know what your doing

hi, i'm a newbie i have problems with my vodafone magic. i tried to start a recovery on it via dos, but i always failed. i noticed that i have a perfect spl, what kind of spl is it?can I have chanches to bypass this and finally put some ROMS on my magic?

is some safe way to root this deviace?Send me tips or solutions how to root this deviace without flash SPL.how much safe it is?can be crashed SPL flash recovered?

I was in your exact same position and it took me four or five weeks to find a solution – I did read that one of the rooting guides on the cyanogen wiki did work, but I know that I had the same HBoot details as you.
You will need to get another SD Card to make a GoldCard there are a lot of steps to follow but it is worth it – just make sure you follow the GoldCard instructions closely

after many many hours searching i find solution!
i root it without Goldcard method or flashing SPL.
for those with same SPL as me i found right sappimg.img that works with my SPL verison.I chose tutorial at unlockerz "How To: Root the HTC Magic in One Click!" now you can make cupcake 1.5 without "wrong Main Versio" or "Wrong Model ID…" i use unlockerz tutorial to cupcake..those 6 steps.
