Hi guys!!
I'm really desperate.
Today I installed copilot 8, after a while the phone when goes in standby doesn't wake up anymore. When I press the menu button it remains down.
So I tried to reflash myhero 1.1.2 but in vain, and if I try to wipe I get the boot loop on hero logo.
The rotation doesn't work.
Please help me!!!!
Format your ext partition, wipe and flash again.
I use copilot 8 and the same ROM and I haven't that kind of issues on the full version of myhero v1.1.2! On a previous version on the 2.6.29 kernel when never I closed the copilot 8 the system crashed. Then I flashed the red's HTC kernel 2.6.27 and the issue never happened to me again. On this new version, the GPS is working fine for me! I just installed a fresh and clean ROM..
Do you deleted the save folder on the copilot 8, before re-installing the app or it was a fresh install? Is mandatory whenever you re-install the app.
When you install it, be sure you don't have this folder, no matter what is the situation!
Edit: I didn't read the second part of your issue.. Evil is right.. no other solution
It was the first install!
It can be a kernel problem?
Evil, when I try to wipe it goes in loop with the hero logo, do you think that formatting will work?

I had this prob too.. after my micr sd card was set as damaged by the android sys and i wasn't able to start the device as well. But, the device was able to boot without the microsd card. Try it too. If so backup the information in your pc and format and remove the partitions of the microsd card (if you didn't do it before)!
I tried it, but the bug remains, I think it's something in the OS...

My friend, the best solution is really to try it..install other rom, just for testing! ,,at least to have something to work on it.. step by step.. I use the same ROM, the newest version of copilot (and I previously was with olders ones without prob too), swapper, overclock, 2.6.29 red's kernel (without BFS), Engineered SPL, no radio changes, bla bla..
Gives a description of what is the state of your gear..
I already started to think that it can happen that some piece of hardware on the device is broken, but lets see.. no false alarms,,
Let's try to understand the status!
Of course! I have a 32a with no radio update, engineering spl 2010 and .29 kernel bfs. I Aldo tried without bfs but in vain.
The last thing left to do is trying another ROM....but there's a low level formatting method?

If there is, it was never spoken here.. the only way I see the internal phone partitions formating is when applying a new room...
Remove the sdcard/copilot directory and reinstall copilot
OR
Format your SDcard and reinstall copilot

But without the copilot no issues, right? I'm using the copilot v8.0.0.328 kfc3.0 and you??

No need for excuses.. Man, "just" in my opinion.. you might have some broken hardware on your device.. I can't find any other answer. Flash back everything original like it should be and send it to warranty. There's SPL collections, there's original ROM's from HTC, etc etc..
I'm sorry.. I'm unable to help you.. Maybe someone has other idea, or something, but in opinion you a broken device..

It depends on your skill level. It may be hard for you but easy for me . You could try this: http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ or building it from source (you'll need to do that for the ROM too).

It would be similar to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765542, but you'll need to change the device to yours. Have you tried the simpler method yet?
Not working, i post up my recovery.img on my phone, the output recovery giv me ton of error and also key is not correct, cnt even select an option...and resolution is also wrong

i pretty much bought my one s for its kick ass camera, and now i cant use it? Help a brother out.
All I can suggest is a reboot and/or flashing the rom again. Although if you really want to get the best photos possible then I recommend flashing a sense-based rom.

I have a HTV One SV C525c. Android version 4.2.2. HTC Sense version 5.0. I've tried everything I can find to get this thing rooted. I've done the HTCDev and got the bootloader unlocked. I've flashed and tried both CWM and TWRP. I see both unlocked and tampered when I try to boot into recovery. I've followed all the steps on all the tutorials but when I get to the point that I'm supposed to boot into recovery from the HBOOT menu, it just boots normally. I even get the screen with "entering recovery" but it doesn't open recovery. It just reboots with nothing changed. I've even tried moonshine and rumrunner to change it to S-OFF but that hasn't worked either. I'm completely at a loss, as I've tried every every app and tutorial out there with no success. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me insane! Please help?!

That's the CWM & TWRP recoveries I've tried to use. I have ROM Manager on my phone. It shows both of them as flashed.
M4, M7, jesus, that are the names of other HTC phones!
At first, throw away this useless stuff of Rom Manager from your phone!
Then post whats written in your bootloader. Or make a picture of it.

Hooleeeeeeee F'n F. It just booted into recovery. I'm now rooted. You're my new hero! I'm poor but I made a small donation to express my gratitude. This has been driving me crazy for weeks.
Now on to getting S-OFF...
Oh man! Rumrunner worked too! S-OFF achieved!
Any advice on what to do now that my phone is freed up?
Great that it worked for you. And thanks for the donation, high appreciated!
Well it is sad that not much development is left for this phone. Take a look at my index thread, but for boost is not much available.
That said: in future check double if things work for your phone and also for boost model, because it has different partition layout than other SV models.
Whats a good start for "pimping" your phone should be xposed.
See the thread linked in my index thread, what modules work.

I've been having a lot of fun with xposed and number of different root apps. Thanks again.
What about Android 4.4 KitKat? I gather from the thread that HTC kinda screwed up and never actually released it. Are there any other custom roms or software updates out there that I should look into or am I already as good as I'm gonna get with 4.2.2?
Also, what about the 2.77 GB taking up the Other in my App storage? Anything I can do about that? I've already deleted a bunch of bloatware but it barely made a dent in freeing up space.
Because of the storage, check the forum about One SV swapper.
No rom higher than 4.2.2 available for this device.

Difficult...!
In worst case, flash the latest RUU for boost.
This will delete all Userdata, but it brings the software to the latest working state.

RomUpdateUtility
It brings your phone at a factory state of the software number the RUU has.
Google it, you will find 1000 guides about it and more.

Ah. I'm going to have to pay better attention to what apps I'm deleting in the future. My MP3 files wouldn't play any more either. Luckily for me, I did actually do something right and made a backup right after getting root access and S-Off. I restored the backup and everything is working again. I'll have to download a bunch of apps and make a bunch of changes again that I'd already done but this time I'll research more into what apps are safe to delete and which ones aren't. Or, in gamer terms, I hit the reset button LOL. I guess we can call this my test run. That backup system is brilliant because it saves your ass if you go and screw with something you shouldn't.
I really should have learned all of this years ago but now I know better. I won't even buy another phone in the future without consulting here first. You've been a tremendous help.

Where did this problem start? Did you cause this by modifying, attempting to root or flashing the device with something that caused this?
If so, about your only option is to use your device's flashtool to flash the stock firmware. If your device's stock firmware isn't available then you might be out of luck repairing your device. If this is the case then your only other option might be getting someone that has a device exactly like yours that is rooted and getting them to pull copies of the various .img files needed for your device then using adb shell to dd those .img files on your device. But, to be honest, I don't think this is gonna happen for you. You probably will have to take the device to a repair shop. It will probably be cheaper to just buy another tablet because the cost of repair will probably be more than what you paid for the device.

To be compatible, the ROM typically has to be ported and that usually requires the stock firmware or stock source from the device that the ROM is being ported over to. 99% of the time you can't just flash a ROM from a different model number, even if the CPU is the same, there's quite a bit more to it than that. The android operating system is built for the specific hardware it is installed on, the two devices would have to be exactly the same and have the exact same components, any differences in hardware make he firmwares incompatible.
For this particular device, I doubt the stock firmware or stock source code area available, even if it were, porting another ROM wouldn't be necessary because if it were available it could just be flashed with that instead of porting a ROM.
About the only time a ROM from a different model number can be used without any porting or edits being made is when the devices are exactly the same device just rebranded with a different "name".
But thanks for trying to tell me something that you thought I didn't know, now it seems I've told you something that you didn't know.

1.Search for your tablet's root package , download it and move it to your tablet's sd card. Then enter your recovery mode by pressing power button+ Home button+ Volume button at same time for 10sec. Odin is for Samsung devices, not other devices.
The device they are repairing is not a Samsung device. They have this device and a Samsung device. The issue on this device occurred while they were in the process of flashing their Samsung device.
I know you're trying to help but don't post anything unless you are absolutely certain that you know what you're talking about.
In this case, you didn't and that can easily lead to a hard bricked device because they followed your instruction.
Stick to answering questions about devices you personally have dealt with, don't go assuming that you understand someone else's device. They are all different, the methods, tricks and tools for one won't necessarily work on another.
You understand android somewhat but judging by your posts, you don't understand the differences in devices and methods. But you will after you've been here a while.

Okay i have a question what would be the course of detailed action to preform getting any and all missing .img's it may need. Also i know its a crazy question but would i be able to preform this in store with the displayed tablet that matches mine? How difficult is something like this, and is there any other methods at all I can try to boot past this bootloader. And now that i remember correctly from reading others this happened when I upgraded to 5.1 or 5.0 thank you everybody once again!

How difficult is something like this, and is there any other methods at all I can try to boot past this bootloader. And now that i remember correctly from reading others this happened when I upgraded to 5.1 or 5.0 thank you everybody once again!

No, you wouldn't be able to get it from a tablet in the store, it's a rather involved process that requires connecting the device to PC, it also requires rooting the device and flashing a custom recovery, and that's all before you actually get to where you can pull the files. It'll take a couple of hours,or more to do it.

The only other option is pretty risky. You can try a firmware from another device that has the same CPU and hardware as your device, you'd have to compare specs. It would have to have the same CPU, same screen resolution, same camera(front and rear), same amount of RAM, same amount of internal storage, same accelerometers, etc.. It has to have all the same components that yours has.
