HTC One S CM10 camera not working? - HTC One S

Finally got my One S on the CM bandwagon, until i get the error when opening the camera application that "no external storage is available"...? What. I don't understand how could this happen. Reference the picture below...
i pretty much bought my one s for its kick ass camera, and now i cant use it? Help a brother out.

All I can suggest is a reboot and/or flashing the rom again. Although if you really want to get the best photos possible then I recommend flashing a sense-based rom.

hmm

is it possible of the way i rooted? i followed this http://androidspin.com/2012/05/13/s...he-bootloader-and-get-root-on-your-htc-one-s/ and it seems to have given me a lot of trouble. would it be better to simply try super user root?
it also seems that i cant access the sdcard of the phone... still trying to work this one out

After some tinkering around, found out that the sd card is completely unavailable! like no pictures, no downloads, no computer connection... HELP!!!

After waking this morning and seeing the length's SCEA are going to to halt the PS3's jailbreak I am reluctantly withdrawing from the distribution of PSFreedom in any form.
You can see more of what SCEA are doing here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/showpost.php?p=535680&postcount=1

Thanks for all your hard work, guys! Fantastic stuff!

Great work!! Let's try!

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what exactly is the difference or advantage to the PSFreedom App you created?
Keep up the awesome work!
yeah.. after rebooting to try and get you that log, my phone seems to be stuck in a HTC logo -> off -> reboot -> HTC logo -> off loop, any suggestions? I can go back into recovery/hboot fine... but not my phone
@stoker25, This should not effect your normal rom in any way.

But honestly this does not touch your /system, /data or /boot partitions at all
Really? That is ****ing sweet!
So you're saying that i could jailbreak my PS3, even though im running i.e. FroYo 2.2 ? Sounds swell..although i grew pretty fond of Open Desire..

Typical recovery log shows that everything worked, although it still flagged an error.
The log is the ONLY file that my code additions write anywhere on the device other then the recovery img flashing.
I am honestly at a loss to what can cause your main rom to fail booting.
What rom do you normally run?

i was using ieftm's rooted 2.2 rom (the first one he made, it's probably outdated now), i'm thinking it might have something to do with the symlinked bootanimation, since it reboots before it shows it. gonna reflash now anyway, since i've been meaning to for a while...
can anyone upload unrEVOked for desire???
and can i use HTC sense rom?
So let me get this right, now we can have this with any rom and keep all usb usage (I'm using leedroid 2.1) within our roms? Just adds an extra menu in recovery?

[SOLVED] Rooted, Flashed, Broke.... PLEASE HELP='(

Alright, so I rooted my phone the other day and then got it backed up using titanium backup. I put the backup on my laptop also to be safe. Well, something happened. I am not that familiar with Roms and everything. Well, I got the Darky's Rom 9.5 and then put it on my phones sd card. I started the phone up in the cmw (i think thats what its called) and then deleted the cache and data and stuff like that then I selected the install zip from sd card. Well, I did that and then my phone started to reboot. It kept getting to the Galaxy S 4G and then goes black for a second then re appears. Well, I cant seem to do anything. I can put it in download mode and I can go back to the cmw mode and everything. Well, I have the titanium backup so I just want to restart my whole phone and then re-root it again and then re install all my apps using the titanium backup. I am pretty nooby at all this stuff on phones. Please help me. I can still put stuff on my phones sd card and then I can go to install zip from sd card. If there is a way, please let me go back to the "out-of-the-box" settings. I think I need the default ROM for this. Anyways, thank you. I really need this to work. I hope I didnt break my phone! ='(
Also, this is my first thread thing like ever in my life, so yeah, dont get angry at me if I did something wrong
I would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through how to fix it. I will be on here waiting for replies, so we can have a conversation if you do not mind. Please help me, I cannot lose this phone.
Did you do an nandroid backup???

You are safe... you say that you can get the phone into download mode, right?
I can get it into download mode. That is why I am not freaking out as bad right now lol But yeah, what do i do? I need to download stuff and use kies and stuff again right? Thank you so much for replying too! I am so happy right now! lol But yeah, I can do pretty much everything except start the phone and get past the samsung galaxy s screen.
I could not do that nandroid backing (that was with the rom manager right?). Whenever i opened rom mananger and tried to back up the files, it never actually backed them up. It kept going to the one cwm and said error. So, I just did the titanium one and made sure to have it on my computer and my phone. Thanks for replying too! it means a lot

Alright, I am not sure if I have the GB bootloaders. I am currently downloading the fully back to stock thing and am going to follow the directions. I have all my apks and data from before it broke, will I be able to put my titanium backup folder into my sd card and then backup the data? Or should my backup still be on my sd card. Yeah anyways, is it safe to do that? will all the files be one it correctly? Im just worried. But anyways, thank you so much. I was trying to read other forums but I couldn't figure it out. And I learned something, do not try to flash things when you do not know what you are doing lol.

Before getting into this tight spot... what had you done to your phone (re: modding)?
It sounds like nothing... which means it was a stock. Don't be confused by the judicious use of the word "stock" in these forums (I speak from experience here)...
Many of the "stock" ROMs which you will see are actually modified-stock ROMS. Some even say SMS-... indicating "Subtly-modified-stock"...
If your phone has the original ROM, then it is not GB. In that case, you'll need to use the second link... if you have a Windows machine. If your machine is not Windows, then that link will not help you because it uses ODIN which is a Windows-only tool.

If you have to use the 2nd thread (the GB Ext4 Starter Pack), you will be formatting your SDCARD. So, no, the backup will not be on your card. We need to get those onto your computer somehow (if you haven't already backed up SDCARD onto your computer).

As for ROMs, my advice to you is to install the Valhalla-Final. My advice is based on the fact that this is the only final GB ROM that I am aware of. I have recently installed this and I have nothing bad to say about it.
On the other hand, if you like bleeding edge, then keep your eye on Valhalla Black Edition. I played with it over the weekend and, although still a work in progress, I have high expectations of it.
Not to be narrow-minded, I have heard good things about the one which you were originally setting out to install... I may look at it myself!

[Q] Camera not opening

hey, I am new here but I have been doing some reading. However, the problem is still at hand. When I click on the camera app, the app opens but I cannot see an image (as if the lens haven't opened) shortly after It freezes.
I am currently running Zeus 5.2 (Sunrise theme). Upon installation, I flashed the ModCam1.1.zip (in hopes that it might get the camera working).
Before running this ROM, I used ODIN to return to stock but have had no lock.
I have also downloaded several camera apps from the Market all have been giving me the same issue.
I have now acquired Camera.apk, and copied and paste it to system/apps. I did a reboot and its still not working.
Am I gonna have to get a replacement camera or does anyone have any suggestions?

It may be a hardware issue. I've seen a corrosion report from another user.
Here are the steps I would take to see if it works.
1. Try google talk, Skype, or what ever video conference app. See if your cam can transmit. Switch front/cam to see if it makes a diff.
2. Take out the microSD if you have one. Who knows, maybe cam is trying to write a bad or corrupt sector.
3. Take off all your data, pics and the sdcard. connect to your pc. locate the /DCIM. Delete all thumbnails, pics and every data.
back up your mms and contacts.
From in the phone, go to /settings/privacy/ reset the phone back to square 1.
DL mode.
Use Gtg's ultimate unbrick.
boot it up without microSD and try the cam again.
If that doesn't work. it maybe hw.

Root gone wrong SGT 2 7.0

Hello guys,
I just got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and wanted to mess around with it and root it. I thought I did everything correctly - it won't let me post the site I used .
However, now I am in a pickle. Whenever I start my SGT, it gets to the Samsung loading screen, does the intro tune, and then just starts all over again. I tried doing a hard reset and I tried wiping all of the cache/saved files/etc. but nothing seems to work. I am at a loss as to what I can do. Has anyone seen this before or is there a way around it? Is there anything I can do?
Much Appreciated,
Sam

I am not entirely too sure, to be honest - I wish it would be let me post the site I used haha.
I used the below ClockworkMod Recovery:
imnuts’ CWM Recovery image
I downloaded the developer nycbjr’s rooting package - cwm-root-gtab2.zip
Does that answer your question?
Kinda. Did you just want root or a custom firmware as well? I am am running the CM9 and I'm very pleased with it. :good: Not as flashy as the stock but it is a performer.

Honestly, I am not even 100% sure why I did it. I was browsing the Android Market and got some apps I liked. The issue arose when I tried using them it requested that I have root powers - I wasn't really trying to modify the os or anything like but was just looking to get root powers. If I hook up my phone to my laptop and put it into Recovery Mode and run Odin, can I PDA the CM9? Do you think that would help? Is there anyway to reset it through Odin? When I do a hard reset, literally nothing changes.
Please post the link to the root method you used. I have a hunch you tried to flash a zip for the gtab 10.1.

Can you access CWM recovery? BTW, you can post links if you uncheck "automatically parse links". Also, you don't have to email me, PM me, AND post here-- one of those will suffice.

It's fine. Back to work, what you call a soft bricked tab is what I call an opportunity to flash a new ROM. I'm a tab 10.1 guy so I can't recommend a specific ROM. But I've heard good things about Tab2Lite and CM9.

I'm glad to hear there is a chance my birthday day present won't become a paper weight. I am still a little new to this stuff so I wanna make sure I am on the same page as you. The ROM that I used was cwm-root-gtab2, correct? I had to download a bunch of files and I am trying to make sense out of what is what. Basically if your tab is on the latest firmware image, you need the latest espresso file. I'm guessing that you were on 4.0.4 and the espresso file you first flashed was for 4.0.3. That happened to myself and a few other people as it's not really clear what you need in those guides!

Hi, I read that anyone with a developer's account can access the developers' preview build of Android L, that was supposed to be available today, I have a developer's account (to upload apps to the market) but I don't see any build of android L, is this the required account? or is there any other type of account required? thanks!

I guess it'll be available in a few hours.
I guess they just haven't released it, yet.
Don't forget their different timezone.
Thank you all, maybe I'm getting too desperate I just wanted to confirm that my account is the right one, I'll be refreshing until it appears, thanks again!
EDIT: I believe being rooted would not be a problem at the moment of the installation, right? I know that I'll lose root after that, but as long as the actual installation does not give me problems, it's fine.

Considering that the images will have to be flashed through fastboot, you'll probably lose root and everything else on data/system partitions (unless they don't wipe it, but I think it does).

if it's a factory image it'll wipe the whole phone and root probably wont work until its updated to support L

That's fine, I believe that flash through fastboot does not include a total wipe including camera folder and all that right? never done it that way, better be prepared. Thanks!

As long as you don't flash the userdata.img, all /sdcard data will be fine. You don't have to flash userdata.img to bump android versions! System, boot would do just fine (and bootloader if they bump it as well)
Or you could just wait till a flashable zip is posted. Someone will have one up within hours of release.

Unless they changed the folder structure like they did a few releases ago - if they did, best to do a clean install.
I'm backing up right now just in case.
Don't wanna mess with the installation script by flashing some things and not others (although there would be virtually no risk by flashing system and boot partition), but better safe than sorry, after all, we can just shove everything back when finished
Consider ir a backup routine, and you'll have an updated bk

That's an entirely different scenario. Each and everyone of us would need to wipe clean if that happens but usually a system and boot flash would do just fine
The N5 has been my FIRST of many, many, many Android phones and even Windows Pocket PC phones that I haven't felt the need to unlock/root etc. Everything has just worked great on it and I have always been able to do everything I wanted to do from this phone. I have been so satisfied with the phone that it has kept me away from XDA for a while. Don't know if that is a good thing or bad, lol. I used to be on this site for hours every single day and now I feel like I am light years behind in rooting. HA!
L has me interested though and I am contemplating unlocking my bootloader for it which just becomes a PITA with losing your data and adding things back and all that great stuff that takes so much of your time. Then if things suck you have to flash back to something else and the never ending process continues. The N5 has gotten me so much time back in my life but I feel like it might demand some of my time back to it. Oh I hate this stuff!!!!
I think I'll make a backup, just in case, as someone said previously, I would prefer to make a clean installation if it's needed and use the image provided by Google.
Thanks!
