[REQUEST] Touch focus on camera app - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Hi,
I recently took my Nexus on a trip and used it to take some 300 pictures. It's amazing the quality of the photos it takes, but one thing that really bothered me at times was the fact that the camera would always focus at the centre of the picture, while the important part might be at one of the sides.
Would it be possible to add a "touch to focus" feature in the stock camera app? What do you guys think?

Hold down on the "shutter" button to adjust your focus. Once you get a green box around your screen, that focal length will be retained until you let go of the button and a picture is taken.
If you slide your finger off the button (as in, without lifting), you can release the focus without taking a picture.
Not sure if that's the same thing you're looking for, but it's a hidden feature in the stock camera app.

Manual Focus on the Fuze/Touch Pro's camera?

Would manual focus be possible to accomplish? I've had a few situations where I wanted to frame a photo with the subject off-center, but focusing on that subject and blurring the background is a tough trick.
I saw a suggestion in the Diamond forum for a method where you'd touch the screen to select the focal point, but I'd be happy with a simple mod to the capacitive 'zoom wheel' that would change the virtual focal length.
Any thoughts?
First, focus on the object (it must be on the center of the screen), then, touch (don't press) the Shutter button (action button) until the focus locked, don't release it, then, move your Raphael to your desired position (subject off-center), and finally press the Shutter button, the camera will not trying to auto-focus anymore.
Ah, clever trick! I didn't realise that it would hold the focus until you removed your finger from the button.
Thanks much... I'll give this a try. ^^d
Edit: Worked fantastically. I'll upload the pics when I get the chance.

App? (is there a better screen capture)

I was wondering if there is a better screen capture for android. I know about drocap2 and screen grabber, but they both share a common flaw. In order to capture a shot I must exit what I'm viewing, activate the app , then go back to where I was before, and then vigorously shake to trigger. I don't want to do that, nor do I want that ugly camera in my notification tray all the time and do a pull down trigger effect. Anyways im just looking for an app that can be set with long press or whatever set of hardware button combination. Thanks

HTC EVO dual led disable? (too bright).

Please anyone list any app that will disable 1 of the led lights on the EVO phone. It's way to bright and washes you like a ghost when too close.

play with the camera a lil bit, try holding the "camera" button to take a picture. It should start super bright and slowly dim until the perfect brightness then take the picture. If that isnt working for you then take the picture by pressing on the focal point of the picture instead of the "camera" button on the screen. I've found this to be the best way to take pictures, basically you are telling the phone what to focus on and it adjusts the light accordingly. works for me even if in complete darkness...good luck

Taking multiple pictures on camera app with one press

I found this feature by accident, and never read about it anywhere,
But if you hold your finger pressing the screen on camera app it starts to take many pictures in a row (you can see the pictures counter on the screen).
Really nice feature and i hope I'm not stating the obvious here...
I've also found that by accident!

If you press and keep pressing the volume button it will do the same.
The app walkthrough the first time you open the camera explains this feature. To get the walkthrough after the first time, in the camera slide out the menu and press the ? In the top right

I discovered this by accident the other day as well! Was actually annoyed as I was just trying to take one focused photo so had to delete like 10. Still, nice feature to have!
was on a kids ride at SeaWorld and after taking a picture of my kids I put the phone in my jeans pocket. It ends up taking 200+ pictures (showing part of my jeans pocket + sky) in the short 1 min ride... Google Photos is nice enough to make a couple animations from it...

one touch camera

I recently switched from Honor 7 to Honor View 10.
On H7 i had configured it that when the phone was off (or on) that i touch the button on the left and the camera went on right away.
very handy if you want to take a quick snap of your cats doing something silly
well, the H10 doesnt have a button on the left . and i went through all the phone settings if you can configure anything for a one touch of another button or a voice command to start the camera right away. but i didnt find anything.
now i have to unlock the phone with fingerprint, face or voice command and then tap on the camera icon. Takes way too long and the situation/funny moment etc passed.
Is there any way to quick start the camera?
Go to camera, open settings by sliding your finger from right to left. Tap the last option called "Ultra Snapshot" and check the first option to open the camera and take a quick snap by double tapping the volume Down button. Take a look at the screen shots below.
