one touch camera - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

I recently switched from Honor 7 to Honor View 10.
On H7 i had configured it that when the phone was off (or on) that i touch the button on the left and the camera went on right away.
very handy if you want to take a quick snap of your cats doing something silly
well, the H10 doesnt have a button on the left . and i went through all the phone settings if you can configure anything for a one touch of another button or a voice command to start the camera right away. but i didnt find anything.
now i have to unlock the phone with fingerprint, face or voice command and then tap on the camera icon. Takes way too long and the situation/funny moment etc passed.
Is there any way to quick start the camera?

Go to camera, open settings by sliding your finger from right to left. Tap the last option called "Ultra Snapshot" and check the first option to open the camera and take a quick snap by double tapping the volume Down button. Take a look at the screen shots below.

[Q] Volume to take pictures REQ

Hi all,
i would like to know if there is a way to assign the volume button to take pictures. the thing is that my camera button is completely broke ....
If its something that requires some time on your parts i am willing to pay you paypal gift ....
Or if you know of an app that can let me take pic by touching the screen instead of the button
As it happens, I *do* know of such an app! It's called "Camera" and is already installed on your phone!
Seriously, just go to Settings -> Applications -> Pictures + Camera, and select the very top-most option. This feature was added in Mango.
I saw the option this morning in the mango update thank you
the thing is now i can take picture but cant use the camcorder so the offer for a tuto/apps/whatever to make the volume button act as the camera button is still up .... i will pay you
Thank you for your response
You can tap the screen to take pictures without an app. Just tap it twice.
I think you can do the same thing in camcorder mode...I'll have to double-check.
I tried with double tap and it doesn't work

The top most option is to tap the screen to take the picture not the volume button right? Just wanted to make sure if I'm missing something.
Correct, and that's (one of the the things) a solution to the OP's problem.
Anyone ... like i said taping the screen work for the camera but not for the camcorder.

Quick launch camera from lockscreen

Silly question. I like to launch my camera from my lockscreen using the double press power button shortcut. If I remember it correctly, it used to unlock my phone, so I could take pictures instantly. But since the latest OxygenOS build, I always have to unlock my phone to open the camera after doublepressing power. Not sure if it has to do with the latest build or if I changed a setting somewhere.
Does anyone know if there is any to fix this behaviour?
Working here. It doesn't unlock the phone per say, just the camera. I'm guessing you have it turned in in settings, settings>buttons & gestures>quickly turn on camera.

Yeah, I have it turned on. If my phone is unlocked, it works like a charm.
Yeah, it's not a full unlock, just the camera app. I can launch the camera app without unlocking from the homescreen by swiping the lower right corner. But the doubletap power button doesn't work. It does open the camera, because as soon as I unlock, the camera app is open and ready to shoot.
Same problem here on 10.0.2 for me... Any fix?
I use swipe gestures to open camera from lock screen...I like to use the letter V and it works great on 10.0.2
I use the letter O for the flashlight.

Yup, gestures work like a charm. Doubletapping power button doesn't.

Take a screenshot with the S-Pen?

Hi. Is there any way to set up my S-Pen to take a screenshot? I tend to take a lot of screenshots and hitting the volume down and the power button can be quite cumbersome. I know that you can also swipe the screen to take one too. Sometimes that doesn't work so well either. Sometimes it switches screens or moves the screen instead of taking the shot.
Every app that I see to change S-Pen buttons or gesture to open up an app, does just that. It opens up a chosen app, and that's not what I'm looking for.
Any help or guidance would be great. I wish that I can just push the button on the S-Pen and have it take the screenshot. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

it seems that you are a new Note Series user...
One main point of having a Note is Screenshot.
S-Pen feature that already been there since the first Note is Screen Write a.k.a Screenshot & you can annotate on it.
Now, you can do it in 2 ways...
Point the S-Pen on the screen without touching & press the button, then choose Screen Write
Press & Hold the button while waving the S-Pen in a Zig-Zag movement

I have my S-Pen setup to launch Screen Write. This is how I did it:
Settings > Advanced features > S-Pen > Air actions > Hold down Pen button to > Screen Write
Now when you hold down the S-Pen button away from the screen, Screen Write is launched and you can Edit, Share or just save it. Very easy.
Awesome, thank you very much. I must've had it set up wrong.

You're welcome. Glad you got it working.
Goodlock
Also Pentastic with the Samsung Goodlock app will let you program the button hold double tap screen to smartselect or screen write.

Split screen shortcut

I'm pretty sure that before OneUI 3, I could kick off split screen by simply long pressing the recents button.
Now I have to go through this crazy dance of recents -> long press on icon -> tap some finicky little menu entry.
I half remember that Good Luck used to 'fix' this problem but now I cannot see a way to revert to the much simpler behaviour. Does any one have any info on this, please?
Thanks!

Question Camera Launching on wake

This is for my wifes phone, we both have S21+5G devices. Her phone will launch the camera when pressing the side power button to wake the device. It does not happen every time but probably a 50/50 chance the device will show the lockscreen correctly vs launching the camera app.
Any thoughts on where to turn this off or what is causing it?
In settings search up
Side Key
And look at all of em

Thanks, I looked and the double click/tap for camera option was checked. I am pretty sure we are not double clicking the side key but I unchecked it anyway and will see if the behavior stops.
Yea so i have played with the side key settings and the device is still being weird opening the camera, maybe it's haxxed. I will try to get the phone factory reset and hope it clears up.
