Manual Focus on the Fuze/Touch Pro's camera? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Would manual focus be possible to accomplish? I've had a few situations where I wanted to frame a photo with the subject off-center, but focusing on that subject and blurring the background is a tough trick.
I saw a suggestion in the Diamond forum for a method where you'd touch the screen to select the focal point, but I'd be happy with a simple mod to the capacitive 'zoom wheel' that would change the virtual focal length.
Any thoughts?

First, focus on the object (it must be on the center of the screen), then, touch (don't press) the Shutter button (action button) until the focus locked, don't release it, then, move your Raphael to your desired position (subject off-center), and finally press the Shutter button, the camera will not trying to auto-focus anymore.

Ah, clever trick! I didn't realise that it would hold the focus until you removed your finger from the button.
Thanks much... I'll give this a try. ^^d
Edit: Worked fantastically. I'll upload the pics when I get the chance.

Switch PPT button to camera button?

This may be a shot in the dark but is there any way to map the PPT button to be a camera button like the camera button on a tytn? I dont really like having to go to scroll over to pictures then press camera just to take a picture.
And does anyone really use PPT anyways?! Seems like ATT is pushing a useless option.
Totally agree any fix for this...

IGO8 3D zoom problem

Running IGO8 8.3.4.102680, default skin. It's working quite well on my stock AT&T Pure except (always and except, right?) for one problem -- while in 3D mode following a route, the zoom out ("-") button on the screen zooms IN!
Anyone experience anything like this? I usually rely on the 2D views, but 3D is rather nice at times. I'd like to be able to zoom out to get an overview of the surrounding area. I have a sys.txt file, but I'm not sure how the 3D options work.
thanks
Jim
Press once on the center of the screen (dont drag or you'll go in to scroll mode) once you're on the map screen or 3d screen. Icons will pop up at the side and presets at the bottom will appear.
use the presets and it should be fine, if not go into settings and into navigation and turn off automatic overview
EDIT: Sorry, i just realized your problem was about the zoom button not working, i would edit it out but it wont hurt to leave it i guess >< lol
as for your situation, no i have not experienced it

Remapping the end key for camera shutter

Hi people. I have an HTC HD2 and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I had a thought today when using the camera. I find it a right pain having to touch the screen to take a shot. Is there anyway to remap the end key so it becomes the shutter button? Of course, whilst in 'camera' mode the normal function of turning off the phone would need to be canceled.
I think this would be a very worthwhile improvement. What do you lot think?

[REQUEST] Touch focus on camera app

Hi,
I recently took my Nexus on a trip and used it to take some 300 pictures. It's amazing the quality of the photos it takes, but one thing that really bothered me at times was the fact that the camera would always focus at the centre of the picture, while the important part might be at one of the sides.
Would it be possible to add a "touch to focus" feature in the stock camera app? What do you guys think?
Hold down on the "shutter" button to adjust your focus. Once you get a green box around your screen, that focal length will be retained until you let go of the button and a picture is taken.
If you slide your finger off the button (as in, without lifting), you can release the focus without taking a picture.
Not sure if that's the same thing you're looking for, but it's a hidden feature in the stock camera app.

HTC EVO dual led disable? (too bright).

Please anyone list any app that will disable 1 of the led lights on the EVO phone. It's way to bright and washes you like a ghost when too close.

play with the camera a lil bit, try holding the "camera" button to take a picture. It should start super bright and slowly dim until the perfect brightness then take the picture. If that isnt working for you then take the picture by pressing on the focal point of the picture instead of the "camera" button on the screen. I've found this to be the best way to take pictures, basically you are telling the phone what to focus on and it adjusts the light accordingly. works for me even if in complete darkness...good luck
