Did you downlaod the right recovery image? There is the one with the g and the h on the end, make sure you downloaded the correct one and reflash.

at the moment i have the recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img...thats the one i need for the supereclair rom i want to put on my phone

Any custom recovery that allows flashing a zip from recovery can be used to install a rom, but at the end of the name of the recovery does it say g or h?

it doesnt have anything at the end of it...no g or h...go read for yourself
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654284
go down to where it says recovery-RA-... or recovery-RA...
and according to what i read for the hero recovery you have to have 6.35 radio and 1.76.2007 spl...so i know that not any recovery can be used...all depends on what radio and spl the ROM requires

Turn your phone off, hold volume down and power, it will show some info at the top(radio etc etc) the top line will say "pvt ship s on g" for example or "ship s on h" for example, the h and g are obviously what you want to pay attention to, if it says h , flash amun ras h recovery, if it says g, flash his g recovery. Both are located here

OMG! Joetong - dats how people brick there phones... Never flash something you not completely comfortable flashing... radio mistakes are still ok, but SPL's can render your phone completely useless. The radio does not really add any functionality except network related stuff. Keep with the one you got unless required by a ROM.
My valuable TIP is to stay what the masses else you may get some sporadic network issues which no one can help you with. Radios are usually only updated to resolve network related issues in specific areas - DON'T BREAK SOMETHING THAT'S NOT BROKEN (very wise engineering practise)

Flashed mytouch 1.2 with the wrong spl and radio help!!!

i flashed my mytouch with the wrong RADIO, its was for a hero, im just stuck at the spash screen. i already tried to go to the fastboot and tried:
1-recover it by flashing sappimg on the gold card, its says wrong model id!
2-i also tried to going back to the stock mytouch 1.2 spl and radio using the command prompt and androidsdk and all i get its "FAILED <remote not allow>"
any advice???, im willing to give $10 by paypal if some one can help me out and unbrick it im a man of my word
the radio i see on the fastboot is 6.35.10.18 and the hboot is 1.33.013
I did this exact same thing. If you can boot to recovery, you can salvage it pretty easily by flashing an update.zip that has the proper SPL. If not, then you may want to try one of the things I did, which was to remake the gold card, because somehow it got reverted and needed the first sector rewritten. Then you can run the SAPPIMG.zip fix. I hope it works out!

Holding Home+Power is the way to get to recovery, and remake the goldcard you originally used to initially root the phone.

let's find anything like sappimg.zip that's suiteable to your phone put on your sdcard and get into bootloader(Home+Power) will help and then flash suitable hboot and radio and recovery then flash some rom. Cheers

didnt worked, but tanks anyways, any other advice?
The default SPL is 'perfected' that means you need to make a gold card in order to flash the Engineering 2010 SPL, then from there you can flash the needed hboot, recovery, etc (ie: click the "rooted" link in my signature)
Your lucky you can even get as far as you can. I didnt realize there was anything besides your basic 32a and 32b. I checked my Specs and thought I had 32a. I flashed both updated radio and SPL for 32A and bricked my phone. Nothing working not even fastboot. I returned to Tmobile and replaced learning my lesson.
If you are within the return just swap it if you can and be careful next time.

Doubtful. Its likely only 5% or so Mytouch owners root their phones. Then out of that 5% another 5% brick them. It is HIGHLY unlikely it affects our prices in the slightest. I have 2 friends who work at tmobile stores and neither of them have ever had a phone swapped during the 14 days due to it being bricked... the thing is its not common enough to bring prices up. They have to meet consumer needs and compete with competitors. I've never bricked a phone before and I'm careful, I'm sorry I didnt realize that 32a and 1.2 were different at first and just wanted to update like I did with my G1. The mytouch is a somewhat confusing phone with all of its variations ( kind of annoying ).
Hell... I'm definitely not going to apologize to anyone for swapping my bricked phone for a new one. Who wouldnt feel fortunate and lucky to save the load of cash by getting it exchanged for free during the return... even if you are the reason its broken??? Put yourselves in the users shoes for a change and realize people make mistakes regardless of how perfect we think we are.
It is important to keep a large difference in contract vs non-contract prices to encourage people to sign up for new activation to get the phone MUCH cheaper than not.
BUMP, any help??

*(help)* cant root mytouch 3g

[SOLVED]
okay so i have a working goldcard. my adb is working
i have a 32b
but heres the weird part. i loaded the sappimg.zip on my goldcard and did fastboot. that was loaded just fine. yet im still on 1.6 , but i thought im suppose to be on 1.5. im going by the directions on the (how to) for rooting made by RA.
then when i fastboot usb to load the recovery img. it says failed. i really have no idea what im doing wrong.
i have done all this for my g1. cuz i hand changed the boot screen. so im not new to this.
i have checked to see if my drivers are all working. when im on the home screen , i made sure my mytouch was connected to adb with *adb devices* but when i go to fastboot usb it says theres nothing there. also i have the recovery.img in both places. one on my normal mem card and one in ANDROIDSDK/tools/
so im not even sure what the problem is. once i get the recovery.img on there then ill be good to go.
if anyone knows what this may be. then thank you in advanced for the help

Downgrade to DC83 (1.5). Just drag and drop Sapp onto the root of your card, unmount, turn the phone off, volume down and power, hit END key to start update, wait awhile (make sure your phone has full power), once its done hit the trackball to restart and you should be good to go. Reboot phone and check system settings for 1.5 firm.
ok first off we need your phone info... not all mt3g need a goldcard to root.. basically i found if you mt3g came with 1.6 preloaded then you do need a goldcard.. you wont be able to just downgrade using the mt3g sappimg from theunlockr how to..

no no no.. you cant downgrade your device with the regular mt3g 1.5 sappimg... if your phone came with 1.6 already loaded you need to find a sappimg that has a higher hboot then your phone... im betting your current hboot is 1.33.0007 ... and the mt3g sappimg used to downgrade to 1.5 is for hboot 1.33.0006.. you can use a hboot lower then what you have to down grade try this how to.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=674003

[Radio ROM] Desire Radio Roms

Hi there,
Finally I gave up to downgrade my Desire rom (as my boot loader already 0.8, so RUU program will refuse to do so). The reason for me to downgrade is due to the poor 3G receiption on Radio 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2-signed. (it is updated by hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.6).... as a result, I deceided to flash an older Radio rom for a test. It is amazing that, now with the Radio 32.34.00.28U_4.05.00.30_2 (from Japan country) my 3G can up to 3 bar in full (previously only 1 bar or 0). I do the test in the same location from my bathroom, so I am really happy with this radio rom and will try out more later today.
If you want to try, here is the radio rom which extracted from HTC offical RUU program. Obviously you need to update it through the Recovery mode (pls read the root procedure, all you need to do is enter HTC recovery mode and then pushfiles to run in another RA recovery mode)
PS: I am living in HK with "3" as carrier

PS: If you are not familar with flashing rom, please don't try it, failure in the flash process will brick your mobile. I am not taking any responsibility.
What about some real testing? (throughput etc.)
Watching some fancy graphics in the status bar is easy but deceiving...

Haaa, i will not want to flash back the radio for figure testing...
All now i can using 3g without lagging. I beleive it may only benefit this radio to my carrier.
I just put the radio roms here to help others (may be others will test).
To be honest, i cannot see any other sites with these radio roms for Desire. Only Paul with the lastest one which is not good for me only.
Thanks!
btw, if you want to extract RUU.exe from HTC for radio package (so far, i only see 3 versions), please let me know, I can make the update pack here

You can switch it back anytime by refresh it again.
It is very depending on service provider. So not the newer will be better.

they don't need you to be rooted. i think you just need to enter recovery mode.
Enter Recovery
==============
1) On your desire, enter fastboot by pressing power & back buttons from bootup.
Then press power then with power to select & volume to go up/down, navigate to where it says 'RECOVERY'.
2) Just run recovery-windows.bat
isn't this working without the phone being rooted ??????

Hmm... does that actually work?
To my understanding, i was under the assumption that this would not be possible unless the bootloader was unlocked to then allow flashing or booting of any ROM images?
Then once rooted and having su access, you could then enter the recovery image allowing you to flash update zips, like the Radio image.

That's just simply impossible... I mean, sending MMS wia wifi.
Lukacs you misunderstood me, the phone is able to figure out that it has to send the MMS via the MMS APN, not wifi. But after I rooted my Desire it can't do it anymore, it activates the MMS APN, but sending the MMS fails.
So I'm not talking about sending a MMS via WiFi, I'm talking about sending a MMS while having WiFi turned on. An unrooted Desire can do this just fine.

verizon tp2 bricked (help plz)

Hello world
a friend bought a verizon tp2 yesterday (I don't know why because cdma doesn't work in my country ) anyway, this guy open the box, connect the phone and try to upgrade the rom without read anything, in the midle of the rom flashing the phone get stuck and reboot and the phone never turn on again I thought "no problem, I will re-flash it in the tri-colour bootloader", but the phone is dead, no lights, no bootloader, no nothing, but when I connect the phone, windows show a new hardware message "qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM" but nothing happens.
looking the rom used by my friend, is a gsm rom
is totaly bricked ? there is a way to recover the phone?
thanks.
PS: sorry about my english
if you just flashed a custom gsm rom, then you should be fine. if shipped rom, you're f'ed. did you try pulling out the battery for a little bit?
the verizon tp2 is cdma and gsm, so it's usuable in most countries.

the flashing software doesn't recognice the phone "connection error", and the power and vol keys doesn't work either
there is another method to restore the bootloader?

no lights, no combination work, the only signal of life is the new hardware message, nothing else.

i didn't say it would work. i said he would be fine because he would be able to put it into bootloader mode and flash a proper rom. Only a gsm radio or wrong hardspl would brick his phone.
