Do you have a 32A Sapphire?
If you dont i wouldnt try it

It might be an verry bad idea..
I have a "dead" 32A sapphire with corrupt radio, and reboot loops, cannot even boot it into recovery, and if you try to flash the radio with an older you endup with blackscreen the second it start to flash the software.

Yep
But the update have also 2 rom update files, one including a special boot file.
It up to your self to try, but i might verry easy kill your phone, as far as i know there is no way of recover a corrupt radio rom with jtag, witch i assume you do not have access to.

OMG! Joetong - dats how people brick there phones... Never flash something you not completely comfortable flashing... radio mistakes are still ok, but SPL's can render your phone completely useless. The radio does not really add any functionality except network related stuff. Keep with the one you got unless required by a ROM.
My valuable TIP is to stay what the masses else you may get some sporadic network issues which no one can help you with. Radios are usually only updated to resolve network related issues in specific areas - DON'T BREAK SOMETHING THAT'S NOT BROKEN (very wise engineering practise)

jtag tools is for direct flashing the cpu, but if you have access to jtag for magic you will work somwhere in htc service center, or know much of the scematic of the magic main board.

Flashed mytouch 1.2 with the wrong spl and radio help!!!

i flashed my mytouch with the wrong RADIO, its was for a hero, im just stuck at the spash screen. i already tried to go to the fastboot and tried:
1-recover it by flashing sappimg on the gold card, its says wrong model id!
2-i also tried to going back to the stock mytouch 1.2 spl and radio using the command prompt and androidsdk and all i get its "FAILED <remote not allow>"
any advice???, im willing to give $10 by paypal if some one can help me out and unbrick it im a man of my word
the radio i see on the fastboot is 6.35.10.18 and the hboot is 1.33.013
I did this exact same thing. If you can boot to recovery, you can salvage it pretty easily by flashing an update.zip that has the proper SPL. If not, then you may want to try one of the things I did, which was to remake the gold card, because somehow it got reverted and needed the first sector rewritten. Then you can run the SAPPIMG.zip fix. I hope it works out!

What happens when you try to go to recovery? And, you tried to make _another_ gold card, or remake the one you had before?

when i press the down volume+power i get into the bootloader and yes i already make another gold card and stills says wrong image id while its reading the recovery image
Holding Home+Power is the way to get to recovery, and remake the goldcard you originally used to initially root the phone.

Sorry, dude. I know I had this exact same issue, and reformatting/remaking the gold card using a SD adapter in my laptop got me back to the point that I could reflash SAPPIMG.zip. What SPL/Radio did you get installed?
let's find anything like sappimg.zip that's suiteable to your phone put on your sdcard and get into bootloader(Home+Power) will help and then flash suitable hboot and radio and recovery then flash some rom. Cheers

didnt worked, but tanks anyways, any other advice?
The default SPL is 'perfected' that means you need to make a gold card in order to flash the Engineering 2010 SPL, then from there you can flash the needed hboot, recovery, etc (ie: click the "rooted" link in my signature)
Your lucky you can even get as far as you can. I didnt realize there was anything besides your basic 32a and 32b. I checked my Specs and thought I had 32a. I flashed both updated radio and SPL for 32A and bricked my phone. Nothing working not even fastboot. I returned to Tmobile and replaced learning my lesson.
If you are within the return just swap it if you can and be careful next time.

Doubtful. Its likely only 5% or so Mytouch owners root their phones. Then out of that 5% another 5% brick them. It is HIGHLY unlikely it affects our prices in the slightest. I have 2 friends who work at tmobile stores and neither of them have ever had a phone swapped during the 14 days due to it being bricked... the thing is its not common enough to bring prices up. They have to meet consumer needs and compete with competitors. I've never bricked a phone before and I'm careful, I'm sorry I didnt realize that 32a and 1.2 were different at first and just wanted to update like I did with my G1. The mytouch is a somewhat confusing phone with all of its variations ( kind of annoying ).
Hell... I'm definitely not going to apologize to anyone for swapping my bricked phone for a new one. Who wouldnt feel fortunate and lucky to save the load of cash by getting it exchanged for free during the return... even if you are the reason its broken??? Put yourselves in the users shoes for a change and realize people make mistakes regardless of how perfect we think we are.
It is important to keep a large difference in contract vs non-contract prices to encourage people to sign up for new activation to get the phone MUCH cheaper than not.
BUMP, any help??

I'm no expert but perhaps the only way to brick that phone is flashing an incorrect radio. I suggest you seek help from jkoljo.
well i was flashing a desire radio so....that would be incorrect !!!
i am really a mess i can't think...before I make something worse....jkoljo please help !!! lol
oh....wow....relief...i took out the battery and i can access the bootloader without problems...god i really thought it was bricked. it looks nothing happened, i'll just flash the correct desire hd radio now....
any advice on what radio could I use with miui 1.4.22 ?
do not reboot whatsoever! Do not reboot!
its working after reboot, well lucky enough Errm, stick to the radio you have atm.
If you are still in fastboot it that radio should eventually flash. When that is done just flash a correct radio. I've heard someone else who made the same mistake and he even tried to boot but his DHD was still rescued
Well I'll make myself clear.
I had a normal radio, then i flashed miui rom and looked for 'recommended radios' for it. Didn't notice it was the desire page. I started flashing the desire radio, red progress vertical bar on bootloader got stuck....
1 - took out battery
2 - swtiched on the phone with volume down
3 - bootloader loaded...that meant anyway with the recovery i would have been saved. the radio showed is the old desire hd radio...no trace of the faulty desire radio flashed.
4 - i just flashed the latest desire hd radio (already tested by me but with different rom).
5 - now i'll reboot and hope for the best...but as things look right now, everything is normal.
I posted about this in the radio thread, search could have helped you
It seems that Desire HD has a backup radio, which fires up when it detects faulty "main" radio. Lucky for you As you already flashed a proper DHD radio, your device is fine now.

[Q] Radio Flashing Problem

Hi, I've recently installed the Android Revolution HD 6.3.1 ROM on my Inspire 4G and I'm having problems when I'm using with it another provider (Not having service when I'm in an area where it's supposed to have) so I was looking forward to a solution and noticed that I had to flash a radio also. The problem is that when I'm trying to flash the radio included in the same thread it goes well until a point where it says "FAILED Remote: not allowed". Does anyone know how to fix this or if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Where are you getting the radio download?
You can only use the radio from the ARHD OP if you are eng s-off, which most people aren't. You need to do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19920345&postcount=5965
It sounds like you are attempting to flash using fastboot in which you will need to get eng hboot.
Iwould suggest flashing thru regular means! Go to the radio flashing forum 4 instructions
sent from Inspire using can & string ver .2a
Thanks a lot for your answers, but i just found the radio file in PD98IMG.zip type and everything went fine. However, I did all this to fix service problems with my phone, and I still have them, can any of you tell if there's something I can do about my phone not having service somewhere where it's supposed to have?

Not sure why but, restarting your phone a couple times after installing radios/RIls seems to resolve many issues.... of course it could be smoke & Mirrors (old Parlor Trick!) heh, heh...

Reverting OTA?

The latest OTA update has made my phone useless as a
phone, as it now gets no mobile reception...
Is there a way to reverse this upgrade?
My other option is a custom ROM, but i would prefer to stay stock at the moment if at all possible.
you can always run an RUU - One that doesnt contain the update
I was just educating myself on RUUs.
does it matter which one i run? i think my phone is unlocked/unbranded (i bought it second hand) but i'm not sure
EDIT: Nevermind, i checked my baseband against the list of RUUs and found that it is in fact unbranded. Now i know which one to get... just need FileFsctory to let me get it...
which is it you need ? Chances are there's a mirror somewhere
found a mirror, thanks
back to start... i tried to install the 1.53 version and it game an error 140 (bootloader)
I think its because the OTA updated the bootloader !
you cannot downgrade using RUU unless you have S-OFF
Well, i guess i'll have to root and install a custom ROM.
Thanks for the help!
what part do you want to revert ? The radio update ? Cause if so, there is a way to do this
Yeah, the radio. When i was 0.15 radio it worked, now with 0.16 it doesn't
Ok have a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684477
I dont think you have to have CWM installed on your device, You just need it on your PC, So you can boot into it.
Thanks! can't seem to find a 0.15 radio though

OP does know the consequences of rooting devices right? It avoids your warrenty.
So just want to make sure, do you not get reception anywhere or only at certain area? If the former, it may indicate a fault on your phone caused by the update and you should not deal with it by rooting cos there is a chance rooting and downgrading may not fix it then you would have no where to go. The right move IMO, is to take the phone back to point of sale and demand an exchange. Most of users like me do not have such problem after update.
Just to remind, if you know what you are doing, by all means.

Look here http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/extract-rom-from-ruu once extracted the rom.zip, open it up and take out the radio.img.
put it in the place where you keep all your adb stuff. and flash it using the method linked a few posts back
Went though the whole process but baseband version still reads 0.16xxxxxxxx
It doesn't seem to have worked
Well, at this point i'm fairly certain i need to rollback my radio, as i installed CM9 and still no cell signal. I checked and it had the same baseband as the 1.78 ROM.

The answer is yes, so do as Pheroh says
Try to either flashing through recovery or manually dd-ing the image files.
Don't take an OTA or run an RUU, as that will update your HBOOT.
You want to stay on 1.08.

I dont want the OTA update, anyway the phone is rooted and using custom rom so dont think ota will ever work.
where can I find the latest radio, zip files flashable thru recovery or fastboot?

hope will solve the few little problems with data and Bluetooth I had.
It has helped many from reading posts. I am not sure I gained anything though.

I can only hope will improve something. I have a problem with data switching from G to 3G to H for few seconds when I first start every session, I dont know it has impact on actually speed;
most annoying is the Bluetooth dropout from time to time, even at (very) short distances, my earpiece has no problem cause i tested with my other phones.
Anyway, if things goes wrong I still can go back to 0.16 radio I had before ( I hope at least )
Yes, flashing radios is Rom independent. Just don't upgrade to hboot .13 or higher. Or, you will have issues flashing radios. Hope new radio helps.

for the moment I use trickdroid 6.0, probably I'll change in the future if support and updates stop;
from what I know, changing rom's shouldn't change the hboot, only ruu upgrade will change it. true?
correct-
radios and hboots stay unless flashing a ruu
if/when we get s-off then hboot can be changed and we will be able to adjust partition table sizes for more data size
first day of testing, results are confusing
the data icon stays now mostly at 3G, think this is the real provider network; the differences in speed are not noticeable
for the bluetooth, the same thing, earpiece disconnect after few minutes even if with the phone in my hand; something is wrong here; I'll have to look for my older earpiece to try it. maybe plantronics 520 is not fully compatible with htc one s
should I try a custom kernel? any chance will help?
I had the Bluetooth disconnect issue . Haven't flashed a radio yet but flashing the Sensisimo Rom has seem to have fixed the Bluetooth disconnect. Fix could have something to do with the Rom being based off the latest update available (2.21 or something like that). I'm having data disconnect issues, does new radio fix it?
T-MobileUS HTC One S
I would try it, no harm done
looks like bloetooth disconnect is a small bug in trickdroid 6.0; tried another 2 earpieces and all are doing the same;
just flash trickdroid 7.1.0, I'll try it tomorrow and came back with feedback.
