what do i have to do now???

Did you download and flash the correct Amon_Ra recovery image? There are 2, one is G and other is H, look at the link/file you downloaded.
Follow directions closely. There are 2 different versions of the sapphire 32A or 32B. always make sure you use the right stuff that you are trying to download for.
There is also no need to create a goldcard any more for the perfected SPL. Look up the Sapphire WIKI that is stickied and gather the important information.
Then follow the directions in this link: this worked perfectly for me.

I also came across other threads that indicate how to do this much simpler way, but this is the only one I can vouch for since I have tried it.
just download the 32B radio and recovery image, then go into fastboot and do this
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RAv1.2.3G.img

loads of thanks guys but i messed up the recovery i flashed was of H build and ROM i was trying to load was of 32B i did the flashing and now cannot go forth the HTC MAGIC logo i am stuck there
but i can go to the recovery and also can go to the fastboot and Hboot menu wat to do now

Lol. If you actually read the thread you "followed", would would have noticed Amon_RA's comment later on which says..
"[...] if you're using a 32B you just have to flash a 32B radio after (see how-to root mytouch thread for more info on that)."
As already stated, you need to flash back to a 32B radio and the fastboot command(s) were posted on Page 1. If you don't know how to use fastboot then you need to do more reading before attempting anything like this - you will need the Android SDK from their website.
Ofc flashing your radio can brick your phone if dont wrong, so I'd advise you do some reading up.

I'm not sure if the radio img on the HTC Dev site is suitable - I mean I guess so, but I don't know much about radio flashing so am not 100%.
Check the stickies for links, or search for guides on fastboot/using adb.

Lol, then you needn't have downgraded in the first place. But anyway..
I'd advise sorting out your radio.img first (maybe the one from the HTC Dev ION site, but as I say I'm not sure), flashing an engineering SPL (now you don't have a perfect SPL anymore, this is a relatively straightforward procedure) and then flashing the Google ION official 1.6 ROM (unmodified ROM but you can gain root access and it's just normal 1.6).

I'm a newbie with android but have spent a lot of time the last few days reading the forums, and I can't seem to find any reasonable solution.
I have a Magic 32B from Vodafone germany.
So I started by following Cyanogens instructions...
. Install_the_Latest_Android_sdk
. Downloaded latest CM recovery
. Download the HTC Android 1.6 base image:

. Download the latest CyanogenMod ROM for your device:

. Put both of these files on your SD card
. Plug the phone into the computer
. Reboot into fastboot, and pressed back button until it appeared in a bar. Although for me it was Red not yellow.
. Ran fastboot boot cm-recovery-1.4.img
However I received the error of perfect SPLs. So I used the instructions from Amon_RA

Copied ROM v2.53.707.2 (Engineerings SPL v1.33.2010) to my GoldedSD card.
This completed successfully....However, when it boots in recovery mode I just see a black screen that says htc magic. And it stays there. Left it for about 10 mins and nothing.
I tried pulling the battery, it booted regularly and into Android 1.5.
So I thought I tried flashbooting CM-recovery1.4. Now the flashboot worked at sending over the cm-recoveryAgain, black screen just saying htcmagic.

Recovery image issue....Ok, it seems I figured out why the recovery didn't work.
As you may notice from the status, that image flashed the phone from:

So you need a recovery that is now H not G. (like recovery-RA-magic-v1.3.2H.img)
Now recovery is available. So I followed CyM's instructions, just with this recovery image, Erase successful, and write successful.....Fastboot/recovery still working perfect, however telephone freezes on HTC screen during boot.
My thought is I should load an SPL that is G, fastboot RA's G image, then boot into recovery and re-load the CyGens ROM loads (as described).
Can someone with more experience let me know if I'm on the right track.....I was thinking of using RA's update.Engineering-SPL-HBOOT-1.33.2004-signed as I believe that is a G SPL (not sure), and where can we get a G radio?

That is not correct! You still need to use a 32B recovery image => recovery-RA-magic-v1.3.2G.img
G = 32B
H = 32A
AmonRa, since I loaded
ROM v2.53.707.2 (Engineerings SPL v1.33.2010) from your thread, now my status during fastboot screen reads..H not G.
If i run fastboot boot recovery-RA-magic-v1.3.2G.img it just hangs at HTC screen.
If I run fastboot boot recovery-RA-magic-v1.3.2H.img, I get the recovery menu.
This is why I was thinking of somehow flashing an SPL that is for G, then the G recovery menu, than a G Rom.
So how can I get back to: SAPPHIRE PVT 32B ENG S-OFF G? And do I need to flash the radio, if so where can I find radio images?

the above was the detail i wanted to downgrade it in order to root it so had to use the GOLD CARD method to bypass the model ID check as i had a perfected SPL
so now i have the following detail

so the radio changed to 32a and also show H here after that gold card flashing
i try to use one click root method got flash rec 1.1.3

and try to flash some G recoveries like recovery-RA-1.3.2G.img
and reboot in try to get flash recovery console it stuck on the boot image saying HTC MAGIC while if i use a H recovery image i get the recovery console
now SIR what can be the solution of this problem

Well as I said, my unit was an 32B with s-on G. After I ran that package in fast boot it became a 32B ENG S-OFF H. Also the recovery images only the H images would work from this point forward. (which are supposedly not for my device)
So I went and tried to load the radio for the G (from HTC ion site) onto it and rebooted instead of also loading the SPL. So now its bricked. HTC logo screen for fastboot, recovery and regular boot.
So I would suggest to anyone with a G unit not to use ROM v2.53.707.2 as that converted it from a G to an H even though the device was supposed to be a G. (Although somehow I'm sure it can be restored, better safe than bricked. Now I just hope the service center can fix it)
SaQuibs: Best of luck....One thing you may wish to try since you've been changed to H like me, and can't boot the regular OS, is to fastboot RA's H recovery image, and than wipe and load an H OS like RA-IONv1.6.2H and see what happens. Since it doesn't include a new radio hopefully it will boot Again good luck!

Read this post and execute the part to revert back to the 32B radio and ROM.
The problem is NOT with the goldcard, because that works perfectly.
The problem lays in the fact that you don't know what you are doing, and you flashed a 32A NBH onto a 32B without even knowing what exactly you were flashing

When you try to flash a NBH from another country/operator the CID check will fail and the flashing will stop. This is done so people can't just flash a rom from another country.
A goldcard (this is what engineers at HTC use) avoids the CID check (CID = Customer ID). This is the only reason why we use a goldcard, it has nothing to do with fixing a perfected SPL, or getting root, or whatever people tell you.
If you have a perfected SPL you can't use fastboot to flash or boot an image.
To fix this you will have to flash a non perfected SPL.
The only way to get a non perfected SPL is to flash an NBH that contains a non perfected SPL.
The problem is that we only have a few NBH's available that contain a non perfected SPL and a CID from another country/operator.
Unfortunately they are also for 32A devices and not for 32B devices.
This is the only reason why you need to get around the CID check and why you "upgrade" to 32A, and afterwards downgrade back to 32B once you have a non-perfected SPL.
If you have a 32A with a perfected SPL you'll only need a goldcard if your CID is different than the one of the NBH you are flashing, you'll also have no issues with a different radio because the NBH is for a 32A already.
If you find an 32B NBH with a non perfected SPL you'll also not have the different radio problem and you might not even need a goldcard if the CID is the same as the one in your phone.
Please be aware that you don't need to fix a non-perfected SPL to get root.
At the time that I wrote the SPL fix we didn't know about kernel exploits so we used this way to get root. In the mean time other ways are discovered to get root (like flashrec etc..). Those methods will however not fix your SPL so you will still not be able to use fastboot to erase, flash etc.
It's always easier to have an open SPL so you easily use fastboot to flash stuff to your phone.
You can also change the CID in your phone to a super CID (all 11111), when you have a super CID you can flash anything you want and you'll never need a goldcard. Changing the CID is something for another thread

things are crystal clear the problem with me is i coundnt configure that fastboot thing i followed the instructions on android site but could not install the sdk tool and use fast boot
so just wanted to as that if i use an H recovery to get to the recovery console will it work for me can i flash new ROMs

This ROM is a nearly stock 1.6 Donut ROM, based on the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Limited Fender Edition. It has all of the T-Mobile apps in it too.
Thanks to crypysmoker for testing some rather dangerous SPL/radio stuff on his phone.
Requirements for this ROM
- MyTouch 3G Limited Fender Edition OR MyTouch 3G 1.2
- Rooted recovery environment
- Stock MT3G 32A Radio and SPL
---- Radio: 2.22.23.02
---- SPL: 1.33.0013
---- Amon_RA Sapphire G Recovery
- Ability to read and comprehend English for the instructions

After rooting, you will have a 32A phone that will not (at this point) have a working touchscreen on any ROM.

Boot into FASTBOOT, flash the radio, then the SPL/HBOOT, then Amon_RA Sapphire G recovery, then press Menu to power off your phone. Boot into recovery and you now can flash this ROM. Make sure that you flash the radio, SPL and recovery at the same time without rebooting in between.

Ok after re rooting, Im back to where I was with 1.33.2010 and 3.xxx radio.
Board still says Unknown sapphire and 32b, but is branded H now lol

Here's your stock SPL and radio. I warn you though, don't flash the SPL. Use the 1.33.2010 SPL. I'll post a link to that as well.
1.33.2010 SPL
Stock MT3G 1.2 32A SPL and Radio
Extract the SPL/Radio ZIP File and put hboot-1.33.2010.img and the radio.img into one folder. Download the Amon_RA Sapphire H recovery.
Type in these commands with your phone in FASTBOOT mode:

fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H.img
Apply the 1.33.2010 SPL update.zip through recovery, reboot your phone, then boot into FASTBOOT again.
In FASTBOOT mode, type this on your PC:

fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Your phone will boot back into FASTBOOT. Check to see that you now have:

RADIO-2.22.23.02
You will now also have Amon_RA Sapphire H recovery flashed on your phone, so you can boot straight to it by holding Home and pressing Power.
Flash the update file and let me know how it works.

Here's your stock SPL and radio. I warn you though, don't flash the SPL. Use the 1.33.2010 SPL. I'll post a link to that as well.
1.33.2010 SPL
Stock MT3G 1.2 32A SPL and Radio
Extract the SPL/Radio ZIP File and put hboot-1.33.2010.img and the radio.img into one folder. Download the Amon_RA Sapphire H recovery.
Type in these commands with your phone in FASTBOOT mode:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H.img
Apply the 1.33.2010 SPL update.zip through recovery, reboot your phone, then boot into FASTBOOT again.
In FASTBOOT mode, type this on your PC:

fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Your phone will boot back into FASTBOOT. Check to see that you now have:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32a SHIP S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP31000)
RADIO-2.22.23.02
You will now also have Amon_RA Sapphire H recovery flashed on your phone, so you can boot straight to it by holding Home and pressing Power.
Flash the update file and let me know how it works.

I overly fully appreciate all your help.. but I guess you started typing before I was done lol
Again, main thing that makes me mad, is now it is branded with google instead of HTC now and says 32b rather then 32a which I think may be the main problem.
EDIT-- Oops.. that was a perfected SPL.. re-re rooting now. Amen ras base is still booting. once its done Ill go for this rom.
Ok after re rooting, Im back to where I was with 1.33.2010 and 3.xxx radio.
Board still says Unknown sapphire and 32b, but is branded H now lol

Since I followed Amen ras instructions after reading them 100 times.. I for the life of me cannot figure out how I got this to say 32b. it makes no sense to me at all unless there was a major revision to the NAND or other hardware for these
its also doing the fun part like it did when I went to your rom/radio to where recovery just will not boot.

I flashed through flashboot ... Ive been messing with G1's for a while so I know my way around a tiny bit. its just this phone is pain in the tuckus.

Since I know the goldcard method works and I can downgrade... Should I try the stock spl also? is it like the G1 where radio is first then spl? If none of this works then somethign has been changed in the hardwhere because the other guy in my thread that got hsi rooted has the same exact problem.

It's worth trying the stock SPL, see if that alone changes the 32B to 32A.
If you have Amon_RA Recovery installed and not the stock recovery, you should be able to leave the Stock SPL flashed.
First flash the stock radio, then the stock SPL, then flash the Amon_RA Sapphire H recovery, then 'fastboot reboot-bootloader' to see if your changes worked.

Wouldn't advise it.. it's Fender only (RADIO-2.22.23.02).
Try this Fender rom instead if you want to try it with your current radio/SPL.

DO NOT FLASH IT... those are only for the fender as they are the only ones that allow for anythign to work properly. flashing them to your board may kill your phone

Lesson learned: Don't try to mess with your phone while drunk. You won't be able to boot into recovery and wipe the damn rom off so then you can flash everything you want.
I can give you instructions on how to make a goldcard and try to flash it back, but without a working recovery, I think it all went to hell.
PS: Have a Bacardi and Cola on my behalf, you just ultra bricked your phone. =)

No he did not brick his phone since he can get into fastboot.
You should find a RUU for your phone and run that one. (one of the 32B RUU's)
The other option is to download a sappimg.zip/nbh and put in on your SDCard (most probably you will need a goldcard) and power your phone on while holding vol down+power.
3. Did flashrec work? If it did flash Amon_Ra's 1.6.2 H recovery and flash w/e you want from there

yes ive read threads and all but still cant manage to get a custom rom
i have rooted the phone through unlockr steps...then followed cursors steps to update to radio 6.35.10.18 and spl 1.76.2007...and i put the amon ra hero-v1.6.2 recovery on my phone
now the problem is that when i try booting into recovery using the home+power button nothing happens it turns on to the "htc magic" screen and hangs
then i saw amon ra's post that said place the rom on the sd card and then boot...tried that nothing..it hangs again
any help would suffice...i know im doing something wrong but the phone works with amon ra sapphire-v1.6.2G with stock radio and spl

What phone?
If you're using RA's "G" recovery, you've got a 32b phone.
Try booting into fastboot and if that doesn't work than you've got a pretty nice looking paperweight.
You might be able to reverse it with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591048&highlight=jtag
but don't get your hopes up

If the problem is only with the recovery image you should be able to fix it. Boot the phone in fastboot mode (vol-down + power). Then do this:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-Magic32A-6.35-v1.6.2.img

i dont think G has anything to do with 32A or 32B...i have a mytouch 1.2 with 3.5mm jack
oh yeah and like i said the phone WORKS with stock rom, spl, and radio(followed unlockr steps)

I have the exact phone as you do, and am having the same problem! Glad to see this post is getting some responses. Hopefully we can get something figured out. I as well have followed the same steps you did to unlock your phone and flash the new radio/spl. I've tried multiple recovery files and nothing changes, just sits at htc magic screen.

If that wasn't clear enough that it was not for your phone than the revert to 3.22 radio part must have been. (Why? Because you did not have that radio in the first place, and you cant revert to something that you did not have.)
That radio and spl DO NOT WORK on the new mytouch 1.2
Actually, you need to downgrade to the 2.22.23 (stock) radio and "G" recovery. As long as you've booted into fastboot with your goldcard in (missing SAPPIMG) without a "perfect" SPL, it can be done. Total pain, but it can be done...
You may need to "fastboot erase radio", "fastboot erase recovery" and "fastboot erase boot" just before flashing them again. As I recall, it doesn't "take" unless you've done this.

But what about the fact that we have a Sapphire phone? in fastboot ours state "SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G" Doesn't that show we have the correct phone? I understand what your saying about the 3.22 radio
The Mytouch 3g Fender/LE/1.2 is not a normal 32a phone. It's unique. If you wanna do anything with a fender or 1.2, make sure the instructions say they're for that exact phone. Stuff for the G1 or original Mytouch 3g or any of it's varients won't work on the 1.2(except for cyanogen's new 2.1 testing rom which has fender/1.2 patches integrated now)
So if the post says its for the 32A, I/we shouldn't assum its for the Fender/1.2? Only use roms that say they are for Fender/1.2?
Every phone of this kind says SAPPHIRE....refer to the rest of my post.

ok im new to android...i thought that the mytouch 3g 1.2 was the 32A...i unlocked it through the unlockr method bringing me to that spl and radio....how can i upgrade to hero then?
