I found a way to run the Broadcom's radio without opening the acer's radio
but when the device goes into standby mode turns off the radio

My experience with RDS Radio: (perhaps its interesting and helpful)
It runs without starting the Acer FM Radio and dont stop, if Power is off.
But I have done nothing special!
What have I done:
1. Started the "btfm.exe"
Silence, as it said stefano
2. Started ACER FM Radio, then btfm.exe
okay Radio reception
3. I made a (only one!) shortcut/link to btfm.exe to startmenu (with TotalCommander)
Suddenly I had two links in the start menu, one for "btfm" and one for "RDS Radio"
5. I used in startmenü the link "RDS Radio" to start it , its the btfm (looks exactly like this).
6. I tested Bluetooth to Headphones - ok
And now the RDS Radio works alone and if I press the power button it it keeps playing.
But if the RDS is playing, the device dont go in the standby itself (after the defined time), only the Display will be dark.

And I use an offical acer rom (3.003c)

if you install "file explorer extension" for the wm file explorer, you can setting view options "show all files" ...and much more

Great! Thanks a lot! I found it, but now i cannot hear any sound neither with FM tuner nor with BTFM... To say the truth I've never tried FM tuner since I installed the rom 3.003c_IT. FM tuner worked fine with the previous rom and I wouldn't hard reset my device... Thanks in advance for any suggestion!

Hi,
I do have a stock rom, 3.003c.00EN_01. \windows\BTFM.exe does exist.
It's a ROM file w/ attributes "hidden", "system" all on....
For Total Commander, make sure you do have unset for "show/hide files in ROM" and for explorer "menu/Show All Files"...

That's not the subject here, RDS radio provided Radio Name, or track info on some Radio Stations.

i see. Now RDS Radio is able to receive RDS Data, but Power Radio can not, it shows that the GFMAPI.dll used by Power Radio has problem, this is the reason that Hypergps can't received TMC data too.
so, i don't think "That's not the subject here". On the contrary, RDS Radio shows us a tips.

Press Menu (bottom right) and check 3rd item (view All files). This will allow you to see these hidden files.
This is standard WM knowledge.
BTW. I use standard dutch-rom 3.003c_NL and BTFM is definitly there. There's even a shortcut for it too (which is not placed in the start menu by acer... I wonder why?)

How this BT Manager works?
I'm using BlueSoleil BT Stack, and it works good, but sometimes it is not stable, and there are things that I cannot understand in it. And that is less graphical than yours.
So? Is it a stack for beginners with fancy graphics, or for intermediates with better graphics than Bluesoleil?

Vijay? Is that your application, or is that the Bluetooth Manager ripped off of a Eten or Dopod ROM? Hell, if it's your application, I would sue Eten for using it (unless they buy from you?)

1. you can see which bt device you are connected 2 and can connect/unconnect.
2. you can unpair/pair device
3. you can actually explore the divice files (like i can do with the samsung z300 i got)

I am still very poor as far as modifications on my XDA mini are concerned... I tried the bluetooth stack in the other thread, with no success (I know now that my german ROM is too old, I own ROM 1.12.01GER with Radio 1.12.00).
O2 Germany does not offer update to this version.
All I would like to do is listen to my music on a bluetooth stereo headset, which isn't working without a modification of my bluetooth components...
Can your bluetooth manager help me ? Does it deliver A2DP to my XDA mini ?

Windows Mobile 2003 SE is based on WinCE 4.2, so go for that one.
No risk with it, but as it's a relatively big program, I'd recommend taking a quick backup before installing, just in case.
However, it can be deleted ok. It's an interesting app, it enables stereo bluetooth... however, I think it still needs to be hacked. But try it, and let us know if it works on your set.

I just installed the WinCE 4.2 File, and the programm runs stable, as well as the rest of my XDAmini...
So now, I will have to buy a bluetooth stereo headset....
But which one ? Do I have to watch out for something special (specifications, manufacturer etc.) ? I would appreciate also taking telephone calls with this headset, but this is not a must...

Newer version, v2.11.14.PV, Developed and fixed bugs from build 13.PV.
- Removed CorePlayer (they said it is dirty but don't know what they mean about it)
- Removed Perfomance tools and its related reg hacks. The reason is to prevent a HANG problem as well as white (faded) screen problem.
- Removed OneNote, and replaced with NotePocket, smaller size.
- Add the ON/OFF button for WiFi.
- Add the utility Copy, Add,... Contacts between SIM and Phone Contacts.
- Change the registry setting in order to support the stereo BlueTooth headset, Not tested, please test to confirm whether it works or not.
That's all.

The first file is an RAR file, and the second part is a ZIP file. No matter I change them both to RAR suffix or ZIP suffix, my WinRAR always complains the second file is corrupted. Can you double check? Thanks!

cant make outgoing call!!!
i tried all pv rom based on aku 0.7 with many diff radio (1.15, 1.17, 1.18) but everytime i tried to make outgoing call, the gsm connection will drop. no problem with incoming call though. anyone has the same problem?

If you turned wifi on, you will get a new connection icon on the top of the screen. Click on it, and you will see the button "Wifi OFF" or "Wifi On".

Is there anybody that could help me add Reboot to the Quicklist. I have a Qtek 8020 (Feeler) with a custom wm6 rom and that has the reboot option. I've tried to add:

Originally you only have four in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\QuickApp] so you will need to change the order. Number two is the reboot option.
After you've done this you need to copy HTCQuickList.dll and reboot.exe to the /windows folder.
Then you have the reboot option in QuickList as option number two
I've attached the two files you need.

The ResOver and 1050 is where the name Reboot is set. You can put whatever you like there....
App Ready
I compiled these files into ready to install application HTC Reboot.
Just install in to the phone and you are safe from the hasle of manually puting files etc.
Installer will ask you for place of installation, whatever you will choose, it will install in phone anyway.

Will this cab work with any Smartphone with VM6 or just with HTC phones? Some of the soft keys in my old, but reliable Tornado just aren't responding as they once did. So... I just got a Blackjack II for $80 from AT&T while I wait to see what features the next generation HTC Touch Dual or a similar form HTC Smartphone will have. I want a slim form factor HTC Smartphone with Touch Screen, Quad-Band, 3G, WiFi, GPS and with at least a 20-key keypad. In the meantime the BJII will suffice, but I'd like it to have the ability to reboot from the Quicklist as my Tornado still does.

I installed the cab, checked all the registry entries and the presence of the DLL and the EXE in the Windows directory. Everything seems to be correct.
But I still have only 4 options in Quicklist, Reboot not included. It's a German WindowsMobile - could that be the problem?

I've tried this rom to my MPx200, and I found that this is the most stable WM6 rom for MPx.
Other roms have problems on the Pocket Outlook, and they need third party software to send SMS. This one doesn't need it. Altough I can't send SMS directly by pressing the left soft ke (send), I can use the option 'send' from the right soft key..

Is this correct? You guys managed to port WM6 to one of the FIRST WM Smartphones out there? I'm curious, how old a MPx200 device would be old now? Like 4 years or so? I'm wondering that the hardware is still working, this is quite a long lifetime for such a device. Sorry for offtop, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the title of this thread.

Hi there,
I just discovered the AutoKeyLock program and immediately hit the problem with "Cannot hook the keyboard".
So I renamed my VitoCopyPaste.exe to .eze and rebooted.
This allowed AutoKeyLock to work.
Just out of interest, I renamed VitoCopyPaste back to .exe and it ran fine. So that suggests to me that both applications can co-exist as long as AutoKeyLock is started first.
So, 65000$ question, is there any way to control the startup order?
BTW I'm running Dr. Gonzo's WM 6.1 ROM on my Vox if that makes a difference?

You can't use both apps on your vox, you must choose one or the other.

That's not true! I have them both working when I automatically start AutoScreenLock and manually start copy/paste.
I can see them both in task manager, Honestly!

No, if autokeylock is launched first (screensaver active), vito copypaste don't work, if vito copypaste is launched first, autokeylock don't work.
It's a fact, only one soft can hook the keyboard.

I am using "SmartToolkit 1.0.0.RC08" for: autokeylock, copy/paste and key mapping, ( "celle task" is mapped on center d-pad button).

Believe you, yes that you can run both binaries at the same time.
The $65,001 question (which is what Fireburned is trying to say), is if both applications actually function when running together?
Running the two apps is ofcourse possible, but the beauty is they wont work simultaneousely . Its very simple, how can two apps lock the same hardware device? Think about it. You are using a dialup modem and are already connected to some network through it, now you start and another dialer and again want to use the same modem to dialup some other network, is it possible ?

Shaunak.it, I don't know too much about Windows Mobile but in other OS's you have the concept of chaining where several programs can register an interest in a particular interrupt or device.
Thinking about it, WM must support something similar, otherwise how does the screenshot program see the * key pressed whilst both AutoKeyLock & Vito Copy & Paste are running?
Returning to my original question, is there any way to control the order that programs are started at boot time?

Yeah! the other program will get access to the device only after the first service let go of it's hold

try to make an sms text message and use vitocopypaste to select some words and cut/paste it somewhere else.
you will notice it doesn't work, because a carriage return is automatically inserted when keylock releases the hook to vitocopypaste.

That's an old problem (not limited to the VOX) - long solved as well. Install Mobiion HookManager (free for personal use):
