Now this might seem a bit daft but bare with me..
As anyone made a small remote control (bluetooth unit) that could be used on our phones so that when I am watching films I can do other stuff.. just a simple unit that allows me to control the phone without having to actually disturb my film - or touch the phone (fast fwd, vol etc) as every time I do touch the phone I have to navigate back to the film as it will automatically pause, put it back into widescreen mode etc...
..ok, stop laughing now...

<sigh> Over the last few days, I have been reading up on so much, and am feeling the effects of information overload!!!
Quick question - Is there a way (or an app) to lock down the Wizard buttons/screen while using it as an Mp3 player?
Heavy snowfall today, so I was out shoveling snow, listening to music (mortplayer) from my Wizard (original headphones). Every now and then, I would press a button (or screen).
Is there a way to lock it down, so screen is off and buttons off, and only power button (or incoming phone call) would disrupt?
GSPlayer has an option to lock all buttons and turn display off.

Click to collapse
Thanks for the tip - I've never checked out GSPlayer, so I will!
Otherwise, I gotta say that I really like Mortplayer, and the various skins that are available with it.
Mortplayer seems pretty complex - and it does have button lock functionality, which i am tinkering with as I write...
I just put a video on my touch pro, is their a way when i play the video and when i turn the phone to the left or right i can watch the video that way.
Thanks Chris
i believe you can make it full screen under menu
you could try manual screen rotation using hte long press end key or routing it to another button (ie ptt or talk depending on rom)
Before telling me i'm noob read all the post plz.
On iPod/iPhone, while playing music, when music player is in foreground AND iDevice is PLUGGED on AC/USB, the screen going NEAR black (but not totaly) and you just have to touch screen to re-enable full brightness.
I'm trying to do the same thing on my SGSII.
- i dont want something who lock the screen on at mid brightness (need to be near black)
- i dont want to press physical button to re-enable full brightness
- i just want to touch the screen to do it.
thx.
I need a way to use a device or another android phone to remotely control the video camera software on the other phone.
I have an LG V20 I need to control its camera software (the stock software)
I need to be able to hit the record video button the stop button and MOST critical pause and unpause video button. (while recording)
I want to use the V20 to make videos but to use the nicer 4k camera I need to face the phone toward me which means the screen will face AWAY from me. I can't see it or effectively touch it to interact with it.
being able to see the screen smoothly would be great but so far I have found ZERO viable solution for that. inkwire was the closest but its grainy low res has lots of issues and I can't CONTROL the phone (tap anything via the remote connection)
so I figure MHL connection to an HDMI screen. that lets me SEE the screen
now I just need a way to hit start/stop and pause/unpause reliably and quickly. ideally a physical remote of some sort or an app that has start/stop pause/unpause buttons.
any suggestions? all devices will be within arms length of each other. so something over network not needed. direct connect.
My daughter likes to watch Curious George on the phone and of course finger mash the screen. I use touchlock to disable the touchscreen and physical buttons so she can watch without issues. I just found out that in /settings/accessibilty/dexterity & interactions/interaction control, you can hold power and up volume to do the same thing. That sounds great and all and most likely that setting is used for the exact reason that I use touchlock..................but everytime you enable it while watching a video, you have to choose which portions of the screen will be disabled or click full screen. The problem is when you do enable it and select what you want, the videos pause and then you can't use the touchscreen. My question is whats the point of this if you can't press play after its enabled?
That sounds crazy. But I think is one of those features they didn't think it through.
