You'd need some sense backend for that to work. Where exactly do we push these files to?

I don't know if It is needed, I've found it on Modaco base rom...

Cheers for posting it ;-)

Okay I'm not really sure what's going on but I pushed all the files to the right place, boot up fine, loaded the live wallpaper fine, but it makes my phone run like crap! Although the actual wallpaper itself runs smooth as butter. I'm running cyan's latest...
Anyone get the sgame thing? Thanks.

head over to modaco and get paul's cm with sense live wallpaper build in. i believe no one has any issues with speed currently

little Update:
Signed zip ready to be written
removed an useless file

Any suggestions for use with CM 5.0.4.2 running on the Droid? Tried manual push/permissions, and signed zip, no luck thus far.... Ill keep digging myself.

Thanks, QTeknology.
The HTC Live Wallpaper is working.
But as Robertleehadley said, the Live Wallpaper itself running smoothly but when accessing places with effect such as Main Menu, it suck, the transition became not smooth and lagging.
I am running Cyan 5.0.4.1 ROM as well.
* I love this wallpaper so much, anyway to make it smoothly?

My home screen scrolling is noticeably slower with the sense live wallpapers also. By no means is it horrible, but definitely not as smooth. Also running Cyan 5.0.4.1

My home screen scrolling seems ok, only the 3D menu not smooth and every single popup menu or when you opening any new apps, the effect is not smooth.

what can the wallpaper do? i cant interact with it, is it only animated?

hmm i followed the instructions exactly, and it shows up in my live wallpaper selection, but it's just a black screen. I'll try using recovery
EDIT: worked. looks amazing, thanks =]

nexus
Can. Someone make this work for a unrooted nexus one pls

I'm pretty sure that kernel .33 has something bad with graphics.
I've problem with Seed of life live wallpaper that sometimes force closes, but I don't have any problem with older kernel.
With this HTC Sense Live wallpaper framerate isn't good.
I think that HTC programmers aren't so good cause for a stupid background with some balls floating around they need 1 apk and 5 libraries for about 4MB !!!.
Google Nexus One Live Wallpaper, distort, fall, galaxy, grass and nexus, 5 Live Wallpapers together are less than 1MB
They should optimize their stuff.
HTC did Rosie and all devices went crazy for manage it, only after one year they discovered how to optimize it...and now I can play with sense on my older G2 Magic
sorry for my OT anger

Ya, I also face force closes when using seed of life live wallpaper.
I am curious is MDC 2.0 ROM having such issue? what is the MDC 2.0 ROM kernel base? .33 or .32
is the HTC Sense Live wallpaper framerates also not good in MDC 2.0 ROM?
I am thinking changing over to MDC 2.0 as I seen it rapidly updates. But I am curious whether MDC 2.0 is better or not when comparing with Cyan 5.0.4.1 in terms of stability and performance.

Thanks ! QTeknology
Its working fine in my N1

[ROM] Gumbo 1.5c

Dedicated thread for Gumbo ROM 1.5c.
This is the final version of Gumbo ROM, and my final 1.5 ROM. All future development from me will be with the kernel, or 1.6 or higher. I've listened to the requests, and some changes have been made. Please read each section carefully and decide how you would like to install.
Core ROM
Gumbo ROM 1.5c FULL
http://www.4shared.com/file/217703299/5734fe53/Gumbo-15c-signed.html
This ROM has everything the stock ROM has. All HTC apps and widgets, all Sprint software. The apk files have been taken from the RUU, zipaligned and left as-is. Any and all themes designed for the Sprint Hero should flash right over without issue. The most asked for feature was plain SenseUI and let the user download themes of their liking.
Gumbo ROM 1.5c BARE
http://www.4shared.com/file/217809392/5fcf1f5d/Gumbo-15c-BARE-signed.html
This ROM has the bare components of SenseUI. It is basically vanilla plus the following:
HTC keyboard+dictionary+calibration app
HTC settings
HTC dialer
HTC people app
HTC calendar
HTC Social Networking
It has no SenseUI look and feel, 3 homescreens and the Cupcake launcher. People asked for this, so I did my best to deliver.
Both of these are using the new kernel and ramhack with settings designed to give the best balance. Setcpu or the User defined settings pack below is highly recommended, but not mandatory.
Individual components
Addon package
http://www.4shared.com/file/217066924/63bf81ee/Gumbo-addons-signed.html
This ROM contains the following:
Mount USB app for one click USB mount/unmount
Carmode - when active all incoming calls are answered by speakerphone
Quickboot - reboot normally or into recovery with this app
Smooth Calendar Widget - an alternative to the HTC Calendar widget that shows more than one entry.
Cube Launcher app from Samsung - a cool 3d cube media launcher
These applications will be installed into the /system partition to save space for other applications. They will not be updatable from the Market, but it saves app space and makes sure you have a working version for Gumbo 1.5c
SenseUI package
http://www.4shared.com/file/217811195/3afb5fcf/Gumbo-Sense-signed.html
This is Full SenseUI to install on Gumbo-1.5c-BARE should you have the need. This is stock look and feel, completely themeable
Sprint addons
http://www.4shared.com/file/217068259/bec5f346/Gumbo-Sprint-signed.html
All Sprint applications to flash over Gumbo-Bare should you have the need.
User defined CPU settings
http://www.4shared.com/file/217068290/6bac04ee/Gumbo-userconfig-signed.html
This is for those that would rather not use setcpu, but would like to change their CPU and RAM parameters, Flash this over Gumbo 1.5c and pull the /system/init.d/gumbo.sh file to edit. The file is well commented and easy to understand how to edit.
Dropbear was removed from Gumbo. If enough people need it back, I can build a stand alone update for it. This was done to save space, as not many people who were asked were using Dropbear.
Apps2SD is still enabled and working as before,
This version includes the latest Gumbo kernel and RAM hacks. By default they are set to a balanced mix of speed, stability and battery life using settings reported to work the best by testers. Should you want to change these settings, install setcpu or the User defined CPU settings addon above, or use the echo command to change the parameters yourself.
Enjoy, and please ask if you need any clarification.
Why call it Gumbo?
People keep asking, so I'll answer here. Gumbo is a type of stew (a delicious type) that can be made with any leftovers or any type of meat and veggies. Hell, I've had rattlesnake gumbo and it was delicious. HTC/Google/Sprint basically took a mix of 1.5/1.6 and whatever else they had laying around to get Android to run on a CDMA radio. Combine a mix of everything with Google's food naming obsession, and Gumbo was the result.

I'm doing a complete wipe and trying it out now. Thanks again for all the hard work and keeping a thread here.

As you can see, I've customized it a little more to my liking. But, for those who wondered if Expresso would work, I can confirm that it does. So do the 2.1 icons and Clear screen!
This has to be your best ROM yet, absolutely incredible work! Extremely smooth and extremely fast.
Is the CPU governor set to "ondemand" by default in this ROM?
I flashed the BARE plus addons plus userconfig. Works fine, except that the Cube launcher FC's when it tries to launch another application.
No biggie, don't see the point to it anyway.
Didn't have the problem described over on AndroidSpin with the clock, either.
Is this better than FRESH 1.1?
Can someone post a mirror. Please
(Just one for the fully loaded 1.5c ROM)

Heh. I hate that cube thingy too. Believe it or not quite a few folks loved it and asked to keep it in. Guess they will be dissapointed that it FC's
I think that was just the first few people who got the clock bug. Left out the weather app and forgot the clock depends on it with the htc framework.

[Rom-Dev] (3-31-10) DarchDroid v2 | Testing release

Hey guys, I'm been trying to port Aosp 2.1 onto our heroes too. I've got most the stuff to work, except camera. If someone wants to tag along and help, that'd be great. And now that i finished porting aosp 2.1 mostly i can now officially give it a name
I have to give credit to jnwhiteh over at the modaco board for giving me a platform on which to work on, gbhil for the kernel. maejrep toast flipz quietcblongs and gang who work on the 2.1 sense build and aosp for getting a lot of the functions such as data and radio and sensors to work. Without all these devs, this would have never been possible
What works
Making calls
3G
Wifi
Network location (both cell and wifi)
Trackball
Market including ALL applications
Accelerometer
Lights
GPS
Bluetooth (minus audio during calls)
Voice transcription option on keyboard
Live Wallpapers from market, and the spectrum live wallpaper
SU Whitelist
Mms Send and Receive. Can't Download the Picture though
What doesn't work:
CAMERA
Downloading Mms Picture
Live Wallpapers are being **** with the new openGL
Bluetooth audio during call doesn't work (I think i got it fixed, can someone plz test it for me)
a2sd isn't starting at boot
*Quirks*
Launcher2 does not render properly due to missing mdpi graphics and flexible layout (the 3d rollout effect)
Gallery3D graphics get 'messed up' slightly if you switch orientation. Either one works.. just switching messes it up.
This is still a developmental release guys, i cannot guarantee you will not run across bugs not listed in the what works/what doesn't list

current testing - moved system apps to data to free some space for system memory, major benefit for a2sd users. cleaned and polished rom. very more light weight than before. added backuptool.sh, so you'll need to flash google ****s before flashing this rom
v5 - fixed SU whitelist, lights under hard buttons work, a bit more polished of rom with less holes in it. Last to be of gsm hero source
v4 - Based on Cyanogen Framework, OpenGL ES Lite is added for improved 3d gfx, no more live wallpapers due to it depending on openGL ES 1.1
v3 - Multitouch is added, wifi
v2.5 - sensors work
v2 - radio, BT, gps, and sms now work
v1- it boots! that is all

[ROM] ZenHero Sprint 2.1 Optimized with Live Wallpapers in SenseUI: New Test Build

THERE WILL BE NO MORE UPDATES TO THIS ROM SINCE IT WAS BASED ON A SPRINT 2.1 TEST RELEASE.
This is an optimized (optipng) and zipaligned ROM from the Sprint test RUU. It includes a tweaked Rosie with live wallpapers while in the Sense UI home screen thanks to my old friend mssmision in the vogue forums for using smali to reverse engineer the Desire Rosie.apk and import the needed changes into the Sprint Rosie.apk. This has all the stock apps plus:
Gallery3D with working rotate and multi-touch
Eclair deskclock with all options functional
Eclair Music.apk (to keep Eclair deskclock functional)
Launcher2 (from openeclair)
Nexus Live Wallpapers (MagicSmoke, Polar Clock and Grass work)
Stock Sprint Apps
AOSP Keyboard (Chose via input method)
Superuser.apk
You need to be rooted and flash via custom recovery. You must wipe/factory reset if your flashing from another rom thats not based on the latest 2.1 sprint leak. I recommend at least wiping dalvik-cache and always do a nandroid backup before you start.
If you have an ext2/3 partition on your sdcard you need to wipe that before flashing this rom.
This has the stock minfree low memory killer parameters. You can use autokiller or MinFreeManager in the market to set your own parameters.
You'll have much better luck using the livewallpapers from the Market. NexusMod is a great replacement for the stock Nexus Livewallpaper.
Hopefully soon we can get the Sense Live Wallpaper shown in some Desire videos working.

Optional Updates:

Flash this update from flipz for live wallpapers in the eclair lock screen. (This will remove the HTC lockscreen and wipe dalvik-cache so your first boot after flashing will take a couple minutes.) http://link.geekfor.me/vanillalock4
Test ROM v0.3: 85MB light edition with sense all fixes applied. This is a separate ROM so you'll prob need to wipe data/factory or at least wipe dalvik-cache if comming from a different ROM or ZenHero 0.2

If you want to use this rosie.apk or optimized apps/frameworks just ask and give credit to mssmision and myself.
If you want to make a theme or mod flashable via recovery PM me and I'll add it to the optional updates.
LWP while in Sense? Interesting. I'll be checking this one out
Sweet thanks! waiting for download!
For anyone wanting the Vanilla lock screen you can use one from here: http://geekfor.me/fixes/bugfixes-requests-lock-screens/ i recommend the ones with Menu Menu to unlock disabled, i've had no pocket dials since this update/fix

You guys are freaking awesome!
Do the live wallpapers stick? Either way, great work Zen. I grew up using your Vogue Android stuff haha. Great to see you around
Awesome. Zen, how does it run? I mean, Sense by itself is kind of a hog and a moving wallpaper might make it heavier on the CPU.
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to test it.

Yea, right after I posted, I read that XDA was doing maintenance. Downloading now.
nice find on the rosie. i wanted this for a while now.
wow, i can't believe how much a coincidence it is i got lwp's working on my rom the same time you push this out. lol
LEAK! LEAAAAK! I kid people, take it easy.
It wasn't that hard really, the only thing needed for the desire apk to work on our heroe's were correct resolution smali's. I used the rosie.apk from modaco to work on mine
Interesting. I downloaded it, but probably won't flash for a day or two. Can't wait for some screenshots. Not sure lwp's are worth any effort for me, but we shall see

I've removed the T-Mobile crap, added a few useful things, and made a few framework mods to make it look better. This works with the original myTouch(32b) may work with the 32a and G1. Flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible for bricked phones. Make sure you wipe before flashing. I have also attached the blue dot wallpaper from Gingerbread if you want it.

Yet im making a nand as i download this file.
did you do anything different from your last post? like any OS tweaks?
i really enjoyed the stability and speed (im a nazi when it comes to performance)
of your last build (continuation of the 2.2.1)
also im on yoshi's 1.0, can i flash this over that since his work is a continuation or yours?
on the same rom as the guy above
This one you have to wipe. I tried flashing it over my last and it boot looped. The main difference in this one is the themed status bar. I'll be adding the gingerbread keyboard to the first update. Im gonna try out some other gingerbread apps tonight to see which ones will work and are an improvement.

I just wiped it all then flashed this ROM.
-snappier than the previous Jbrew... maybe ADW is laggy :/?
my apps didn't back up automatically but who cares cause i feel thats the problem that 2.2 has, its stalls everything up
-market downloads really quick on multiple downloads unlike before
-the GPS ping is right on the money
-i seem to be recieving all my texts all morning long
-3D gallery is laggy as usual but its not a big deal
-stock music app doesn't recognize half the artist, list them as unknowns (a trend I see with all Froyo roms)
-a couple apps close down when I try to open them, not habitual. More random if anything
EDIT!
NO Swap, it sucks . no compache, DONT put the app in home memory and DONT use the 3D app drawer. Launcher needs to better support these two. (Not JBrews fault)
my new froyo daily driver
great work JBrew!
It has been a while since I've flashed roms on this phone. I've tried RA and Clockwork and both end up in boot loops after flashing the rom... I tried a different rom too and got the same result, so it isn't the rom. Any quick ideas? I am rooted and wiped everything before flashing...
Umm start over?
Find RA's "how to unroot".
Re-root your phone.

Hi,
How can I use my 8.2 register launcherpro instead the original 8.1.1 launcherpro on your rom? I can't uninstall or upgrade it.
Thanks,

use system app uninstaller
thats what i use
Or download titanium backup... locate launcher pro... click it and uninstall... I believe you can't install 8.2 over 8.1... if you can't, make sure you have atleast one home launcher eg. Gingerbread launcher (or you wont have a homescreen to work with lol) then go into titanium to uninstall system lp... now u r ready to install ur 8.2
32b myTouch 3g
Cyanogen Nightly 279
Hboot - 1.33.0006
Radio - 2.22.19.26i
Kernel - 2.6.35.9
ADW 1.3.3
Downloaded and installed your rom. Everything seems to be good so far.

I'm open to suggestions. What would you like to see changed or added to the ROM?
Hmm...
well, there's a lot of competition, so thats kinda tough. im a fan of the green and black theme. with that said, id trade fancy for complete stability. Im personally looking for a daily driver.
Pull down power controls like in cm6.1 maybe cm settings to fix the rotation to the right thing....everything else is awesome nice work man

What all are you wanting to be green? Is there anything specifically that you are having stability issues with?

If we want the Google apps, do we just flash the same gapps package that CM uses?

Nothing major. at this point any cutom pgns can be accomplished by the individual... assuming they can root, they can edit the framework-res.apk.
as far as the stability goes, like i said before , im a performance nazi, so the occassional app reload [start an app then it shuts its self down, but then restarts its self] is kinda annoying. home sceen lags ect.
people always rant about how this is the fastest rom "ever" but when i seem to try it its never the case.
i like to run my beast as stock as possible. no swap. no compache, no ext. so a rom thats come right out of the zip "blazing fast and stable" are hard to come by.
I will say that your Rom along with a select few are worthy of calling fast and stable. so i would like to see more customization,[diff colors schemes, cms options are nice] but if its at a cost for these old phone, well then pock that! lol example, 3d gallery, too laggy for my taste but some like it. im personally not a dev so i just want a phone that works as a phone firts and one i can show my I-friends why they they chose the wrong device. well i feel you get the point. hope that helped.

[MOD]Supersmooth Rosie & 6x5 App Drawer - lagfree experience - NOW with custom bg

Update - this thread will now host all my Rosie mods and ports
Super Smooth Rosie
Credits: hamdir for original mod on DHD & One X - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656201
This Mod is only for deodexed ROM`s
What does this mod?
Super Smooth Launcher is a mod that locks the frame rate during page scroll in Sense launcher (Rosie.apk) and ultimately delievers a smooth and lagfree scrolling experience.
Essentially it's an optimization which forces Rosie to flatten the layers depth effect in Sense widgets, this effect is resource heavy and the reason for frame drops or stutter. Super Smooth Rosie still shows the initial 3D effect, but then makes sure you have a lagfree experience on your homescreen
Back to stock: Just insert Rosie.apk from your current ROM in system/app folder of my update.zip and flash. Nandroid is anyway recommended.

6x5 app drawer
If you are like me and have too many apps installed, page by page scrolling can just last a while, before you get to your desired app. That is the reason I made this 6x5 app drawer mod, that reduces scrolling by over 30%. It`s an old and popular classic I already pioneered on DHD. In my case 8 pages of apps are now reduced to 5
This Mod is only for deodexed ROM`s
Install: Just copy to your sd and flash in Recovery. Nandroid is as always recommended.

Super Smooth Rosie with custom background
How to apply custom background:
If you like to add your own, the apk is recoded in order to allow you to add your own app drawer background.
1. Design a jpg with 540x760 pixel and rename that to hestheone.jpg
2. Open Rosie.apk with winrar and navigate to res/hdpi folder
3. Insert your hestheone.jpg in hdpi folder and close the apk
4. Insert the apk either in the attached update.zip with the example bg in system/app folder and flash
Download Custom Rosie (see screenshot)

Example of custom background:
You did it again, good job!
Damn you're good !!! everyday you bring something new lol
is there a way to use the sense app drawer on another launcher ? like MIUI - ya know, like the ALTDRAWER app ??
No - that`s not gonna happen, rosie needs the HTC framework.
Thanks, Im using MIUI at the moment but i miss the app drawer, ALTDRAWER is okay, but im not so keen on it and was looking for some alternative without using a different launcher....
Not to worry, I shall continue my quest to find one
when they hide under the labels , remains an empty space, you can fill?
The Rosie itself has Ultra Smooth mod from Hamdir?
Great works here on TrickDroid 3,1

All Sense 4.0 Rosie's are ultra smooth, since HTC removed all extra effects, that slowed them down in old versions. Just ask hamdir, he will agree.

Talking about this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656201
I know that mod, but if you followed earlier comments from him, he even acknowledged, that`Sense 4.0 Rosie is on the right track. Anyway I can look into it and see, whether it can even further improve performance (but it`s already fairly good).

Thanks.
Also looking forward to your great skins for the One series
I will not publish Skins and Themes as long as m.10 files are locked. These are essential for a lot of changes and without these I would never be happy with the final result. I have a Theme and Skin ready, but decided not to launch it, since it just was not on the standard I could achieve on Milestone or DHD.
In any case Super Smooth is now ready on my One S, just needs a bit testing and I wait for confirmation from hamdir, that porting to One S is fine for him.
