Not similar to outlook, but... myphone is a web application on the pc-side, so it's opened in a browser, so you can use the browser print function, isn't it?
With Myphone i can do many things but i can't print good...
I've found the software "jeyo mobile companion" or the similar "Jeyo Mobile Extender 2.5 for Outlook" that do whatever i want... except to print....
it's important for me to print sms... it's the first thing that i'm looking for....
Any other ideas?!!
thanks
Workaround: with MyMobile you can select the text with the mouse, copy and paste wherever you want, and print...
Use jeyo mobile companion software .....

Hi,
I've been browsing the web and can't seem to find anything suitable. Does anybody know of way of sending text messages from your PC through Active Sync to an XDA mini s. Something similar to the Nokia PC Suite. I can't believe that nothing exists?
Thanks
Marc

1, welcome to XDA-Dev
2, you mean, say, mass message seding with, say, contribution lists on the desktop PC? Or, did you mean simply remote controlling your PPC? If the latter, read my remote control articles (Wiki!)
Hi, Thanks for the welcome.
I've seen the application that remotely controls the PPC through the active sync connection. I was hoping of just some kind of small app that could sit somewhere with your contacts and then send text messages from.
Is the remote control app the way that people normally do this then?
Regards
Marc
you can just buy Jeyo mobile companion (to be used independently in your desktop) or mobile extender (to be used as plug in to your outlook) to send SMS from your desktop.
Thanks, will have a look at the Jeyo software. Was hoping for something open source but that's pretty cheap. Marc
I use Pocket Controller-Professional it's great and it syncs clipboards too great for pasting addresses etc from my pc data base into text to send
Everywhere I see I keep finding references to Outlook when I want to edit contacts through my computer instead of through my PPC (it's a seriously painful job at times... ><).
I have no interest in buying the entire damned Outlook/Office suite for this little thing, and OpenOffice covers everything I need otherwise. Does this exist?
Outlook is an awesome app period. I got '07 version (only one on shelves) for about $70. Not to mention it will also be your main point for calender, tasks, notes, contacts, and if you want mail (kind of pointless if you have the unlimited data plan) Or just find a contact manager app for your PPC that you like, you don't have to purchase the entire office suite.
I'm still not keen on getting Outlook. Costly, unnecessary since I have everything I need in other programs or services. All I need is a way to manage contacts like I can do in Outlook (through Activesync), and that's what I'm looking for, but can't find.
Does it exist?
may try jeyo mobile companion.
its a desktop tool to work with your PPC for SMS and contacts.
Im using Mozilla Thunderbird and Birdiesync, if you install the Lightning-Addon for Thunderbird you can even sync your Calendar.

If there's a free something out there that'd be even better

as i ever say, google is our frinend...
Try Jeyo Mobile Extender 2.5 for Outlook...
www.jeyo.com
I use it and it's ok!
I´ve try a lot of programs. Unfortunately they won´t connect the phone. I´am using Windows Server 2008 64bit as OS. I´ve checked with Jeyo, PocketSMS 2.02. Anyone have alternative programs?

Well, i have same situation in my office, my desktop computer runs Windows 2008 server, and the only way i found to connect my PDA was install VMWare Workstation and use a guest OS with Vista or XP and connect the PDA to the guest OS instead to host...
Cheers
Why don 't you try MyMobile software (freeware)? Then you can see (like remote desktop) your mobile 's screen and use your PC keyboard and mouse to write SMS. You don 't even need Active Synch. Use IP connection.
http://www.mymobiler.com/
I use mymobiler and it works, but its very slow (USB).....(I´am writing
10fingers.....) If I type too fast, the phone doesn´t become the input....
I use Pocket Controller Pro, and it's awesome!!!(fast, includes explorer, regedit, skins, etc..), it's not free but worth it.
regards

This workes really well for me and does a lot more than just SMS.....
.
dashwire
Use a website called www.dashwire.com. I just registered yesterday and it is awesome.
Basically, you register on the site, install an app on your touch pro, and then the app backs up all your contacts, sms, etc (you can choose which) and sends them to the site, where you can read and reply. If you write an sms on the website, it sends the details to your touch pro via the internet, then sends the sms from your touch pro. Cool eh?

Very cool indeed....except that hopefuly you realize that you are deliberately providing more than personal information to a company you probably don't know at all. Ever wondered why it's free? No ads, no nothing? No way anybody makes any money from this service...but most likely is resseling all the info you share...just read the disclaimer of this shady company...anyway, if I were you I would immediatelly shut it down! Am not sure how much you are familiar with legal lingo, but the wording of terms of use is leaving more than enough space for them to do pretty much anything with your information.
Call me paranoid, but this is NO GO for me. Just like "wonderful" Facebook, which I personally call the biggest privacy scam in the history....
Just saying...
ahh, without the option "USB to PC" fast sync Jeyo works fine also with Windows Server 2008 Now, I´m happy Thanks for help!
I want to save all the SMS that I received\sent to save them on my PC.
Is there a possibility ?
Try using Microsoft MyPhone. I use it to transfer contacts and I think it can also transfer sms.
Work like charm...
Thanks for your help mate.
It syncs with Web not PC
I had a look at the Myphone website. What I understand is it syncs with microsoft's MyPhone web account, not to your PC. Correct me if I am wrong.

You can use "Efficasoft Mobile Express" which can connect to your cell phone and send/receive SMS. Unfortunately, no MMS support.
... or Jeyo Mobile Companion: http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp
It is a great app - just check it out - you can do much more with it than manage messages
or you can use MyMobiler from http://www.mymobiler.com/ with witch you can use your phone interface from the pc and do exactly what you do on your mobile but you can use your pc keyboard to type!!
theres also a mini sms server, on the front page off the xda_dev portal..
thanks guys....
just a shame there isn't some kind of Outlook type plug in
probably posted this in completely the wrong forum but hey....shoot me
