FAQ/how to's for noobs?

Hello everybody....
I'm now active on this forum for a week or so...
All I do is reading reading reading .. did I mentioned reading?
Just because I want to learn everything. There are so many things that are for me, and I think for a lot of other people just not clear/understandable.
I really want to understand everything because I'm getting my pro in a couple of days...
But I realize that my knowledge doesn't reach that far...that's why I read a lot.But people here on this forum...the ones that are a (little) bit further in this knowledge are bugged all the time with stupid/boring questions.
So:
Maby it's an idea to write some manuals about all the basic things...
And maby a little bit explanation
Things like how apply a theme etc etc
also:
I think that it would be very handy if everyone just ad a little description about the program he is uploading...like what is it?how to install it?
So where it's all about:
It would be great if someone or someones would write soms 'how to's )
And make it a sticky one offcourse!
I hope ya all agree.....
Only wanna make things better for everyone.....

I totally agree with you.
I'm a big fan of "monkey-proof" manuals for people who do not have IT knowledge but still want to tweak his/her device.
If i can assist you in anything by writing or searching info on XDA then i'm willing to help.

It won't have everything you need to know, but the joy of a wiki is, once you find the answers, you can add them for others to use.

Thnx 4 the useful tip! but yes... I also read the WIKI... and yes... there is al little bit general info.....but it's really a little bit....

apply theme
Can someone explain to me how to apply a theme? i now have the beautifull T-Mobile theme on my MDA Vario IV and i want to change tis into the HTC black theme.
I've allready installed Advanced Configuration Tool 3.2 but i can´t see where to change the theme...

Quick one for you all

Hey guys sorry if this has been asked or is in the wrong place my fault.
But what I wanted to know was if anyone has found a tutorial on creating themes for TF3D for HTC Diamonds.
The reason I am asking is that I have seen alot of skins all very nice ones but I am yet to find ones that appeal to my tastes so I figured if i can't find them I will find a way to make them.
If anyone has seen a step by step guide or could lend me a hand on getting started then if I can make skins which are as close to flawless as i can get them then I will start posting them on here.

Not really what i was looking for, i need just the contact list customized not a kind of program to run it. Any other links?

I know someone changed the file which contains the colors but can't remember which.

I would suggest tring RC_Mod tho to see if it helps.

i have a htc hd2 phone and all i want to do is change my themes but cant find 1 place to find them ive seen ones an here but there to good i just want to changed the look now and then can someone help and i keep hearing the word brick what does that mean ??? i am sorry for being a noob but we all start somewhere lol

abt themes: try google
abt brick... its when u try to flash/root ur mobile (in simple words try to install a new operating system or change the core files of operating system) .. and ur phone stop working at all

First of dont be afraid, you wont brick your phone installing a theme There is no risk involved.
If you are searching for themes you can try here and here^^
of course there are far more, but you might wanna start there
If you have questions concerning the themes and how to install them, plz first read some posts in these threads so that no unnecessary questions are ask, if you still dont know how, then just ask in these threads the OPs are there to help you
I would recommend though, that you first install CHT 2. Its necessary for the most themes and for the other stuff you will find here. Without it you more or less can throw away your HD2^^
Just use the search function of the forum and you will surely find it
And for the next time you have questions, I would recommend you first search the forum on your own before opening a thread like that. On the first site of this forum there are 3 threads with more than 15 themes. So you could have found something.
Just remember that for the next time

its a great piece of software and once installed your good to go for all the amazing widgets that the guys here make. just spend a bit of time reading up before you go ahead. it really does open your phone up.....
