Hello everybody....
I'm now active on this forum for a week or so...
All I do is reading reading reading .. did I mentioned reading?
Just because I want to learn everything. There are so many things that are for me, and I think for a lot of other people just not clear/understandable.
I really want to understand everything because I'm getting my pro in a couple of days...
But I realize that my knowledge doesn't reach that far...that's why I read a lot.But people here on this forum...the ones that are a (little) bit further in this knowledge are bugged all the time with stupid/boring questions.
So:
Maby it's an idea to write some manuals about all the basic things...
And maby a little bit explanation
Things like how apply a theme etc etc
also:
I think that it would be very handy if everyone just ad a little description about the program he is uploading...like what is it?how to install it?
So where it's all about:
It would be great if someone or someones would write soms 'how to's )
And make it a sticky one offcourse!
I hope ya all agree.....
Only wanna make things better for everyone.....
but hey....think about it....everyone gets happy...right?
Great idea
I totally agree with you.
I'm a big fan of "monkey-proof" manuals for people who do not have IT knowledge but still want to tweak his/her device.
If i can assist you in anything by writing or searching info on XDA then i'm willing to help.
Have you checked the wiki?

It won't have everything you need to know, but the joy of a wiki is, once you find the answers, you can add them for others to use.

I did not see this anywhere in the Kaiser/Tilt section... would it be possible or a good idea to have a poll of the upgrades done to the Kaiser or Tilt?

It's already done...click this
I was thinking of an actual poll, probably on that site.. showing the number of people who have used which mod or tweak or theme... it would kind of give people an idea of the most popular stuff, etc... this could probably be used for accessories too... it may be a shortcut for people wanting to know the 'best' ...
The last poll we've had was pre-WM6.1. It almost seems like we need a new one. Instead of asking for one, why not start one? The quickest way to get something done is to do it yourself.
Just do it. -- Bo Jackson (c) Nike
Im forum illiterate... plus I dont know all the possible stuff that could be added to poll... Im still waiting for my Tilt to arrive...

You should be shadowing the threads and reading as much as you can.
You shouldn't have anything to post for about 3 months after getting your device. 95% of all issues have been explained or answered here, you just have to look for your answer.
See ya in July just kidding
Welcome to the forum but seriously search for for answers ... you'll learn alot faster that way.
Yeah, Im kind of making my list now of things I want to do... just trying to contribute somehow... right now, I bring ignorance...

We all have that at first...don't let our flamethrowers (like me) keep you from contributing. Just try to read and research things before starting up a new thread (see video in my sig ) and check for answers to your questions before posting them. As long as you try, nobody can fault you.
Hi Guys.
Very impressed with the forum here, and hell to you all
I am going to ask a question that some people may refuse to answer because they know it all but here goes...
What is all this "rom" changing about?
I want to get rid of the vodafone on my v1615 so that its a normal" kaiser, do i need to download a new"rom" and change it?
Also i would like to unlock it, can somebody point me in the right direction?
Will i loose any applications or features by changing the rom etc.
Thanks, just putting my mind at rest

well if you like what we do here... please respect the fact that this thread is highly organized and quite informative, as a matter a fact... right above your thread (the top) is a bunch of links that "point you in the right direction"
im not gonna start the newb bashing, but a little reading wouldve been easier than posting a new thread... go to the xda-wiki at the top brown bar... scroll down to kaiser... and read the whole thing. if you still have questions, then ask... deal?
all you need to do is read the wiki located at
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser

i just spotted that.
Thanks. Looks like i'll be going to 6.1 very very soon!
Welcome on board Flashy.
Follow the advice given above.
Closing thread - question answered.
Mike
Sorry for asking but everyone is a newbeeeee sometime, right
I just found this site and I really want to upgrade my HTC TyTn II with WM 6.1.
I understand that on this site aloooooot of people are writing there own application and changing the org. RAM etc etc.
I wounder WHAT RAM I should install, the official Microsoft 6.1 or...
Where to looooooook ?
Pleazzzz have faith and once more, I'm a beginner
since you are new....1st thing to do before asking a question is use the forum search function and/or go to the wiki page for your device most of your questions if not all can be answered by doing those two things...
I'm going to give you the best piece of advice I can. Don't forget the name GSLEON3. I have a feeling you might need him in the near future.
i would take the last one that came out... and everytime a new one is available -> flash it.
other possibility: start with the wiki.
Well, you won't be changing ANY RAM for years bud. No offense, but that would take a lot of address work to alter the ram alotment.
You're best friend is the wiki, & the second post on the page called Start Here.
Now I don't expect to see another question for at least 5 days to a week, becuase if you are that new, you've got a bit of reading to do.
Start with the basics & learn about roms, radios, & basic tools that make flashing & cooking possible.
DO NOT PLAY WITH THINGS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. If you're not comfortable with a process or don't understand it, DON'T DO IT! Just like anything else, you're actions will have consequences, some are good some can be devastating. So start here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Then go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282
After reading all of the info there, then you can start asking questions for clarification without being royally flamed.

Ohh, & one last though, never trust a solution that is just flash it!
Red, read, read, understand...Then HardSPL before you even think of flashing anything.
sorry... forgot

I thought that was clear.
OK here we goooiiiiinnnng to reeeeead and reeeeeeaaad an.......
Godnight & over and out
I learned everything I needed to know from here. Everything is extensive. With a little dedication and a little geekism, you'll figure it out
My RAM doesn't fit!!!!
I'm so sorry that I didn't get to chime in earlier but I was changing the RAM on my Tilt and totally screwed up trying to fit my Laptop RAM into my phone. I couldn't find the Wiki on how to fix it. Can I tether it using Active Sync?
Hi, i would like to test to flash my phone with a CLEAR WM6,1 now i use Clear WM6. Does someone here can give me a link?
thrashed!!
There is a Clean ROM by fireburned. Read the threads carefully before you start a new and unnecessary thread
Is it really so difficult to read at least the first page of the vox sub forum? You didn't even have to search for it!!!
A very good first subject, congratulations...
This is my request!
Seems you do not understand i need a clean version of WM 6.1 FOR me. Not for my phone. I want to try something. Is it so hard to read and help me if you have that clean version. I do not want modifies versions and so on. I need a simple clean version of WM6.1 . Can you give me a link? Is it so hard to understand?
Well is it so hard to use the search or to read?

You want to install WM6.1 on your brain, not on your Vox ???
Search a little on the forum, just on the first page...
Hmmm
I guess he is after the microsofts wm 6.1 emulator image on which fireburned based his ROM on without any modification etc. I do not know how or where you can get it. If you don't mind me asking, why do you need that?
Good luck on your search.

Whats up with you people?
I totally understand it irritates people when someone asks a question which has been answered so many times elsewhere. But the attitude thrown at a newcomer with such a question is a little exaggerated (in a bad way). First of all, most of us use English as a 2nd language and as a result having a language barrier. And some of us can not even explain what we mean %100 right. YES they should search a little bit before posting. But what if they could not find the answer they were looking for, or did not UNDERSTAND which is quite possible. I mean have you tried to search Vox forum for little things? Such as how to do some tiny adjustment, modding? First couple dozen of the results you get are from cooked ROMs and those topics are very long (close to 100 pages) due to popularity of these ROMs. I am glad that it is like that, as I found fireburned's fabulous clean ROM that way. But requires quite a bit of reading and there is chance people can miss it.
So it seems, when people learn some, arrogance takes over?... Is that it?
Instead of writing some insulting comments to the poster of the question without any real answer to the question, Can I suggest not to reply at all. That way, you would not waste your precious time.
God, am I glad that my teacher was not like some of people here, so all my questions (stupid or not) are answered in a nice manner. And I am hoping to be the same way with my students.
I really appreciate all the good work you guys are doing here. But come on !!
The guy with the question joins the forum only on the 17th of Jan.. What happened to the hospitality.

if you think we are abusive, please report the post by clicking on the Red triangle on top left of the post. Thanks and best of luck. BTW there are lot of noobs we help or rather spoon feed when they brick their devices, and that includes each and every one who has replied to this thread, try searching for our posts.
Best of luck about reporting.
Hi Shaunak.it,
I don't need to search for your posts to know that you guys helped a lot of noob's including myself. And I am grateful for that and appreciate it a lot. And I think your reply to this post (the first one) was good and maybe I would've written the same thing, as you referred him to fb's clean ROM first and also asked him to do a search first then post. Which is totally understandable. But that should have been enough as it already made the point. There was no need for anybody else to re-iterate the same thing over and over again. Especially the very first reply to this post was ridiculous. "Trashed" what the hell does that mean? Anyways, there is no need to prolong this conversation. I apologize if I make you feel the need to defend yourself as it was no attack on anybody. It was merely me being bothered by the treatment this poster got for his question. As none of us truly understood what he was really asking for in the first place. Clear ROM may mean fb's clean rom, or microsoft base for wm6.1 or whatever. Who knows...

Arrogance... In the same day, 3 news guys (only 1 post) who asks one question that answer is on the first page of this forum, excuse me, but i can't undestand and say : "welcome to you, ohhhh, you d'ont read just the first page of this forum, you don't search 5 min an answer of your question, but let me help you, i can tell you the good answer, no need to seek, just post your first question !"
NO, NO, NO, and NO !!!
Hospitality comes with respect of forum's rules and peoples who make this place a good space of exchanges !
Take 5 min and search a litle is the minimum i think.
Bye.
there is a rule in this forum and most forums for that matter:
SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST.
btw did you report?

First of dont be afraid, you wont brick your phone installing a theme There is no risk involved.
If you are searching for themes you can try here and here^^
of course there are far more, but you might wanna start there
If you have questions concerning the themes and how to install them, plz first read some posts in these threads so that no unnecessary questions are ask, if you still dont know how, then just ask in these threads the OPs are there to help you
I would recommend though, that you first install CHT 2. Its necessary for the most themes and for the other stuff you will find here. Without it you more or less can throw away your HD2^^
Just use the search function of the forum and you will surely find it
And for the next time you have questions, I would recommend you first search the forum on your own before opening a thread like that. On the first site of this forum there are 3 threads with more than 15 themes. So you could have found something.
Just remember that for the next time
thank you so much i did look up themes on here but really couldnt find any thing but im sure your right i am sorry
as other posters have said, you should try CHT 2.....
