well, i too am interested in this! Our devices are definitely capable of supporting touch flo, and someone should get started on this i guess! I've never cooked a rom, so wouldnt know where to start, makes sense for all the experienced guys to try a shot at this as it would really prove to be a great value add for our uni!
cheers,

it is possible in fact there is already a ROM that has the Touch Flo interface (only qvga and our unis have VGA so it will look funny)
here is the link but next time use the search button.
PD the cube effect as far as i know it is not available but look at the thread and decide whether you want to try it or not.

Hi Guys,
Ivans Rom includes only the HTC today Plug_in which is as mentioned above, only QVGA and until now no one archive to Run correctly this application in VGA. HTC today plug_in cab can be found separately in here.
Regards to Touch flo (cube); The ROM cooker for other devices take the touch.dll from the device HTC touch and port it for own devices.
The file touch.dll has to be cooked in to ROM as it cant be overwritten. Anyhow all those devices are none VGA therefore porting for Universal has not been yet done.
Cheers
Thank you guys for all the input hopefully the developers will make a rom with it totally built in but in the mean time lets stick with the new version of ivans touch rom
Hay guys,
I am getting a new PDA, I have tytn now and it has served me good.
Could you give me your look on this two models, I am thinking about Samsung, since it has much better specs and display, but I got used to touchflo 3D interface a lot...
Is it possible to put it on Omnia?
Your answer will be appreciated and will help me decide what to buy.
Thanks!
There is one added value for choosing HD
The sup`port of this fantastic site!!
Just because of that I´ll choose HD even if omnia has better specs...
Yes, that is bothering me too...
Well if you're not gonna flash your device or use Touch Flo 3D or any other ported software, than get Omnia 2.
You will still be able to get support in this forum. Most of the issues of non-HTC devices can be supported/solved without the need to correspond to an HTC device.
You could use TouchFlo 3D on your Omnia 2 if its WVGA. However as mentioned above the support provided by this site significantly exceeds that of any site that supports the Omnia. To be completely honest, if you havent bought your device yet you should consider the Touch Diamond II. The reasoning behind this is i read an article somewhere mentioning that devices without a windows button will not get an official WM6.5 ROM or something stupid like that (Correct me if im wrong).
Ill be upgrading from my Tytn to an Omnia2
I agree that HTC gets great support here but Hardware and capability wise there is nothing to compare with the omnia2 on the horizon.
AMOLED screen, headphone jack,tv-out,5mpx cam with dual flash....what more could anyone possibly want?

A forum specialized like this for that device!!!
Hmm, the Touch HD vs Omnia II i8000.
Well, lets face it, this is a question of 'XDA support' or 'No XDA support'. Specs-wise, the i8000 has the Touch HD crushed completely (as have been the case with all new Samsung models; HTC hasn't updated their specs in forever).
Personally, if you ask me for a choice between those two models, I would go with the i8000. The main reason I love XDA support is that it makes the interface looks better and it makes the software faster, but from what I see, the i8000 is already plenty fast and it looks very, very good. Furthermore, the i8000 has support forums too (though not on the level of XDA), so any deficiency may be corrected by its own forums anyway.
The idea of choosing a WM device based on software seems very silly to me. One can find a CAB for just about any Windows Mobile software (including, yes, TouchFlo 3D), so transition between WM devices based on software is very simple. If anything, the i8000 should be more appealing software-wise as Samsung put a lot of amazing software on it that has not been ported to other devices yet.
Always buy for the better specs and design. Never buy for the software support. Buy for the software that is already provided.
Any extras can be found on other fan sites and other non-htc developers. Therefore the Omnia 2 is a much better choice.
Besides there are plenty of software that are created that supports non-htc devices, and there are also software that are created specifically for non-htc devices.
Furthermore alot of the technical problems are Windows Mobile based and not always HTC based.
The only 2 reasons to get HTC devices is 1) if you prefer the design and the specs of HTC and 2) if you want to flash your ROM.
HTC devices are easily flashed to a different ROM, but hey man not everyone uses ROMs... I don't ever use ROM's...
Therefore Omnia 2 is a perfect choice if you don't flash your ROM...and point number 1 shows that HTC Touch HD is outdated....so therefore get Omnia 2 if you don't flash your ROM....
Think about it mate.

a zooming ability on the video camera (while filming)
also, can it play divx/xvid movies like the HD can with coreplayer?
i download movies and dont have to re-encode them, just drag, drop, play. (...generally, unless there was some esoteric encoding used)
mark
I have the same dilemma. I am about to replace my Sony Ericsson W960i with a proper PDA and I am taking into account both, Touch HD and Omnia II.
Similarly I would like to have a Touch Flo 3d interface on my device and therefore I was keener on HTC Touch HD at first. However since it is possible to get a Touch Flo 3d onto all WinMo devices (as I deduced from 8525Smart's post)

I rather buy Omnia.
And here it comes to questions:
1. Are my assumptions concerning getting Touch Flo 3d onto Omnia correct?
2. Could anyone explain to me this ->

What does it mean to"flash your ROM" and how is it useful? Isn't it simply upgrading/updating the ROM?
I'd be grateful if you could help
well livegod guess what ! omnia2 has zooming while taking videos with its awesom camera
and the touch player can support almost 99% of all my downloaded and converted movies
as for the TF3D .. i love the new one and i cant seem to find it anywhere to be installed on my omnia2
i hate the widgets... makes the phone looks like a toy so i am using spbmobile shell + pointui
i'am from germany and I have the same problem.....
But here I can buy the Omnia in a few month....:-(
But what is whith the HTC LEO????????
Touchwiz 2.0 quite simply covers up WM 6.1 SO thoroughly on the Omnia II, it's almost like you're not using a Windows phone. The Omnia II is definitely the better pick unless you REALLY want ROMs to flash. Then wait for the Whitestone or Firestone or whatever HTC have next.
omnia camera is far better than the HD2
especially the video recording
the HD2 dont have a chance
but i dont care about the video recording so i will get the HD2
HD2, wins every time. You can flash what ever you want (when hspl comes out!), why would you ever want an omnia?
Hands down the HD2 (Leo). PPC of the year so far!
Samsung Omnia 2 place...
I'm a Forum XDA user for a long time.
It helped me a lot with my old HTC Wizard.
I was quite worried about buying an Omnia2 and losing the Forum support. But HTC HD cannot win O2 in SPECS.
About support... boys I have to admit.
For Omnia2 (that is not a HTC device) the best software and tweaks and amazing ROMs can be found on MODACO (sorry boys, but I have to say).
If you own an HTC device don't even consider getting there. The best place is here!!!
Concerning the TouchFlo3D, there are many versions available on MODACO. There's even a HTC HD2 like ROM with Sense 2.5
Thanks!
Could some one please upload a cab file for JETCET Print from the original HD2 rom.
Thanks in advance.
bump.......
If someone could link to some instructions in how to make a cab file from a piece of installed software, I can do it for you.
JETCET5_PPC_v5.0.904.5.131.CAB
If you cannot find the JetCet print from HD2 I have one from omnia, that I have downloaded yesterday, because I could not found any other. If you found JetCet print for HD2, I too would be glad to have it.

I just did a search on 4shared and found it there
http://search.4shared.com/network/search.jsp?searchmode=2&searchName=jetcet
the latest is version v5.2.1059 i guess !!!
I forgot to say it works with HD2
JETCET5_PPC_v5.0.904.5.131.CAB
I am not sure, dont use, dont have IE6. I use Opera 10 and that works. I guess that version presented by skoogee is satisfatory, if not, let me know..
Does no one, I don't believe it, can manage to get the Jetcet version from an HD2??!??!
Note that version is not 5.2 but 5.4.something...
Is that so hard to help anyone on this???
I found this here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5430440&postcount=3
http://rapidshare.com/files/333642584/RTT_JETCET_PrinT_5_4_1187_01.cab.html
Don't know if it's the real deal, due to rapidshare...
Tried to install that version but in the end of the instalation said unsuccessful
JECTCET
This will work I use it myself on my Leo
The actual app made for the HD2 is 5.4.1187
The cab was pulled by Dutty.
works a treat... nice one...
anyone know if there is a newer version than that 5.4 one which may have been released on a newer ROM.
Some folks are never happy

Just kidding. What's wrong with 5.4.x? It's a fairly basic though well done, especially compared to the extremely stoopid HP iPrint. Well, iPrint is not THAT bad, but does suffer from one overwhelming issue: It uses every graphic file, from every folder on the device by default, and I'm not even sure there is a way to select a particular path. I didn't get that far, since it brought my HD2 to s crawl, reading in all those photos. If they just fixed "File and Folder Selection", such a basic thing, they would actually have something there.
Now that I think about it, I can see one REALLY good reason for wanter a new release... support of new printer models, "DOH!"
Which leads to a question (doesn't everything?) I have an Epson Artisan 810 printer, an all-in-one thing, but of course its not listed in setup. I just tried other models until I got a successful test page. This is VERY hit and miss (more miss that hit, LOL) Anyone know how to either add support for Artisan line, or which "Stylus" or Stylus Photo etc., would best emulate the Artisan 810?
I don't need it to do anything other than print photo's. In fact, that's all I want to be able to do, text is not important.
Any thoughts on this?
@smartassphone,
new printer model support is exactly what i am hoping for. Specifically Canon MF4xxx series. I tried each model offered by jetcet, one by one, and none worked.
I hear ya

Ugh. Yes, starting to see that is indeed the issue, although, my experience has been that you can usually achieve some basic level of printing, if only you can find a base emulation mode for the printer in question.
So far, I HAVE been lucky enough to at least get the Test Print page to spit out okay (but printer did not see the job as "finished" so I am still in that trial mode - I doubt I would bother to try EVERY Epson model, there must be 60 or more listed, but I am trying a few from each "family" of models.
DO not be afraid to step outside your brand, at least into the HP Models, I got this to work a long time ago by using a basic HP driver selection (ahh, for the days when MOST consumer printers did some level of HP emulation.
I will check back and provide a link if I find any newer printer support, in either a new JetCet or whatever.
Have you been successful in looking for a listed Epson-model that works for your artisan? I do have the german version of this printer and have tried some of the Epson printers listed in the jetcet-program ... I got results - but very, very bad ones
Epson Artison 810 Equivalent Driver
I setup JETCET using an EPSON Sylus R380 driver for my Epson Artison 810. Test Print worked well. So far, so good.
TP2 Stock ROM with JETCET PRINT v5.4.1187
Kevoooooooooooooo
would anyone recommend trying the dual boot on a dash 3g?
i couldnt find any information about it working on non-touchscreen phones
Moved as not software release.
You mean the Gen Y dualboot?
It's only for XDAndroid, which is available only for phones like the diamond, touch pro, touch hd, etc.
So I don't recommend it.
OK, now, I've searched the forum, but can't find the exact answer to my question. I have flashed multiple ROMs for my HTC Touch Pro2, but I was wondering. If the Manila leaks and tweaks for the HTC HD2 can be used for the TP2, would it also be possible to, for a say, port the Sony Ericsson X2's ROM to the TP2? Because Manila is tweaked more and more, but I would like to experience what the X2 feel on a TP2 would be like. I'm thinking WM to WM should be possible, but have no idea of the amount of work involved. I'm also curious for the speed it will or won't have on my device.
I know there's some .cab to get the panels item working a bit, but I'm looking for 'everything'..
Maybe the X2 is the wrong example, because the hardspl isn't fixed yet, but the packages are, right? Else: take the X1 for example.
Thanks in advance for any answers!
