2.) extract those files in a folder. (any folder name you like, use winrar.)
3.) run the file ROMUpgradeUt.exe
4.) download and save this file inside the folder where you extracted the files in step 1. http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/M...adeUt_noID.exe after you downloaded it, run it.
5.) follow the onscreen instruction until your done flashing.
observe your device if it still have the same problem.

'ERROR [240] File open'
As anyone got any ideas as to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance

You most likely need to copy the nk.nbf file into the same directory as the romupdateutility.exe file.
I am having the same problem with my new mda IV compact i have tried to load the rom in every different way but still the same message comes up, i am trying to change radio settings to the 06 version. i have done the spl load but can't do a flash rom. any ideas please
I have the same problem i have installed HardSPL
But when i try to run the roms KaiserCustomRUU this error pops up
is there a certain program i should be using to run it? or did i save it wrong?
Make sure the phone is in active sync mode. My diamond i had this problem then realized that i had it in disk drive mode. switched it back and i was fine.
hey.. problem solved for me.
Click that "View README" button right next to the llast button you click before you get the error.
Where is that file located on your computer? For me it didnt load, but it said "could not find file at c:\windows\system32\readme.doc".
I took the cue, and moved my *.nbh file into the system32 folder. Voila! It was weird because I was running the ruu.exe file from the desktop (on a vista PC). I guess for some reason it was looking in system32??
So give the above a try. Might work for ya

Well, the instructions for flashing your first ROM are pretty straightforward:
1. Flash HardSPL
a. The first thing to do is to pick a ROM you want to flash, and plug in your device to your computer.
b. The chef (person who makes the ROM) will usually say which SPL he/she recommends. If he doesn't, you can just PM him.
c. Go to this page and pick the HardSPL that the chef recommends. A HardSPL Security unlocks your phone, meaning that you can flash different ROMs than the default shipped ROMs.
d. Download the Kaiser-HardSPL-versionhere.zip from the above page and extract them to a folder on your computer, for example: HardSPL.
e. Now download the attached file in this post (JumpSPLv1) and extract it to a folder on your computer, for example: JumpSPL.
f. Once you have extracted the three files to a folder, open the folder, and copy "kaiser_JumpSPL_pof_v1.nb" and "JumpSPL.exe" (no quotes) to your device.
g. Power down your device, take out your SIM and SD card (if one), then power back on the device. If it opens an emergency call screen once restarting, just click the red End key button on your device to exit and go to the today screen.
h. Open File Explorer, then open JumpSPL.exe on your device, select the kaiser_JumpSPL_pof_v1.nb, then enter in: "0x00000000" no quotes.
i. Now, if done correctly, you should be at a Tri-color screen and it should say "USB".
j. Now disable USB connections in Activesync/Windows Mobile Device Center. To do this, click on settings under Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center (depending on if you're running Vista or XP) and UNcheck "Allow USB connections"
k. Unplug your device, wait 5-20 seconds, then plug your device back in.
l. Remember that folder that you extracted the SPL to? Well, on your computer, open that folder, then run KaiserCustomRUU.exe.
m. Click Next, Next, then Update. Wait for it to finish, then click Finish.
n. Congratulations! If done correctly, you should have HardSPL flashed on your device. To confirm this, press and hold the camera button on your device all the way while pushing the stylus into the reset hole. You should be at a tri-clor screen (called the bootloader). The second line down should say "SPL-versionhere.Hard" (no quotes). If it does, you're ready to flash! If it doesn't, please re-read all instructions.
2. Flash the ROM
a. Flashing the ROM is very easy. First, pick the ROM you like, and download it. Usually ROMs are in a .zip or .exe file.
b. Once the download is finished, extract the .zip to a folder on your computer. If it is an .exe, just run it.
c. If it was a .zip, just run KaiserCustomRUU.exe from the folder you extracted the files to, click Next, Next, then Update, then Finish. It it was an .exe that you downloaded, it should do this automatically. However, if it doesn't, it should just extract the files for you into a folder. Just follow the same procedure for a .zip file if it does do this.
d. Congratulations, you should have just flashed the ROM! If not, please re-read the instructions above.
3. Flash the Radio
a. This is where newcomers tend to become confused. Basically, you just need a radio that matches the ROM you have. One reason to tell if you do not have a correct radio is if you have camera issues, and sound issues while talking on the phone. Just remember: only flash Kaiser radios! If you try flashing a Polaris radio on your device, chances are you'll brick it.
b. You can flash the radio before or after you flash the ROM. Basically, the ROM and the Radio need to match. Chefs sometimes include Radios in their ROM, in which case you would not need to flash a new one. Just look in the thread of the ROM you want to flash to see if the chef included it. If there is an included radio, you can skip the rest of the steps. If the chef does not include a radio, he/she will usually recommend one.
c. You can download radios from here. Just download the one your chef recommends. If your chef does NOT recommend a radio, just PM him/her and ask which radio he/she recommends. Many people prefer 1.58.25.17 for its awesome battery life. 1.58.25.17 also works on many newer ROMs.
d. So, just for the sake of the rest of these steps, we are going to assume that you have flashed a newer ROM and are now going to flash Radio 1.58.25.17.
e. Now, just download 1.58.25.17 from the link I posted above (should be a .zip), extract the files to a folder on your computer, run KaiserCustomRUU.exe, click Next, Next, Update, then Finish.
f. Congratulations, you have flashed your radio and you are completely done. If, for example, you are experiencing issues with the camera and phone, just flash a different radio using the same method as posted above.
That's it.
And remember, please read the Wiki, Stickies, and G.W.E.N.I. for the answers to most of your questions. Or, you could use the wonderful Search functions of this forum.

This might get me one step closer to finding out why I can't flash a HardSPL. Tried every possible way for 2 days (questions thread here somewhere) but no luck.
I'll try some searching, but can you perhaps give the link where specific instructions above were posted? I'd like to try the seperate .exe and .nb file approach rather then the not-working-for-me JumpSPL1.xx versions. Thanks
EDIT : Don't worry, I've found the link to above...
EDIT2 : Tried above and got the white screen. Redownloaded your JumpSPL1.56 and HardSPL again and tried everything again with all my fingers crossed. IT WORKED!!!! Dunno why or how, but it did... ;-)

[Q] How to flash latest android version on Polaris

For some reason I can't get my Polaris to run the latest Android version (i.e. Froyo).
1. Downloaded latest kernel polaimg-panel3-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-09-10_21.nbh)
2. Downloaded last build (Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS10)
3. Put last build (.tar or .tgz file) on SD card in directory /andboot
4. Flashed by using NBH file together with RUU Update Utility
Now it gets tricky:
when the system reboots, vibrates twice, I see a text rolls a few lines and stops at
usb_function_register. can somebody help.
attached photo showing screen
thanks
I changed the .nbh file to "polaimg-panel3-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-02-09-10_16"
and now it stops at a different line.see attached photo
Come on guys if someone can help i would really apriciate.
NBH file is use when on the three colored screen.
Seems you doesn't have blank screen, that is work, but you need to flash your radio first, or else the installation will not continue, refer to the guide:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/androidhtc/wiki/HowToInstallWithAtoolsNand
I did exactly what the guide says. I have installed hard spl and the last radio, but nothing different with the results

[Q] Unbrick LG Optimus Net

Wondering if there is anyone here willing to help me with this issue. I tried flashing the phone with the LG Tool and the .cab firmware file but it keeps giving me a fatal error. I also could not use the tool for converting it to .kdz. Please can someone give me instructions for unbricking this phone and or point me to a firmware that I can try flashing with Odin or a .kdz package? Can it be done from the memory card? I had CWM recovery installed but all I can get it to do his hang on the LG logo or go into emergency mode. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Only downloads a 7.88MB file when the firmware is 95.6MB.
After following these instructions:
Step 1: Get drivers here and install them
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN37AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 7.2.exe
Step 2: Reboot
Step 3: Make sure phone has at least 50% battery
Step 4: Get firmware here
Firmware LGL45CT2_01
Step 5: Download this and extract
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip
Step 6: Put phone in emergency mode
To put the LGL45C into download/emergency mode:
1. With the phone powered off you hold Volume Down and Back at the same time.
2. While holding the keys insert a USB cable plugged into a PC or charger, in a couple of seconds the the screen should say emergency mode at the bottom.
Step 7: Follow these steps in order (This is from the extracted "KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip" ZIP)
Install msxml.msi
Disable antivirus software
Open UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe
Wait for the program to open
Look for "Encrypt cab file to kdz file"
Click the folder icon
Choose the location of the cab you downloaded for L45C firmware
Encrypt cab -> kdz Program will freeze up. DO NOT EXIT until program says Done!!! Otherwise it won't finish converting.
Close program
Open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
"Type" choose CDMA
Choose in "Phonemode": Emergency
Click the folder icon and choose the kdz file that UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe just made.
Click Launch software update and enjoy!
I get:
"

I believe the KDZ flasher will work with the phone in emergency mode. It's a bit more dangerous than LGMDP, because you can brick the phone if you pull the battery, or if your computer happens to freeze during the flash.

It's unable to load the .dll file. If that file is included in the files you downloaded, try downloading it again. If it's downloaded on the fly by the program you were running, try running it again, to force it to redownload the dll. Also, make sure there isn't another version re: 32 vs. 64 bit. Lastly, try doing the update on another computer.

Still getting the same story on another PC.
Try this. Before you do the flash (the step which throws the error), look for LGMobileDL.dll on your computer, and replace it with this one or this one (they're different).
I'm sorry for bumping a nearly-year-old thread but I'm currently experiencing the same problems.
I successfully rooted my L45C but idiotically didn't do a backup and ran into some problems while playing around with it down the line. I am now stuck in a bootloop with CWM recovery.
I've tried the method that callihn tried (which I found on androidforums) and got the same results. I tried to force a system update with the LG Mobile Support Tool both to no avail. Replacing the LGMobileDL.dll (as suggested above) didn't help (the first link was dead for me as well).
I would love if it someone could help give me some insight on how to fix my problem.

K. Listen up. YOU ARE NOT BRICKED. DO NOT flash any of these solutions. If you can get into CWM recovery, you are GOLDEN. I wish
I could, as I am truly bricked. To truly brick it, just go to System>privacy>factory reset and then you can be where we are. What you want
is a copy of an LGl45c NANDROID backup. That's it, that's all. I have copies on my Linux partition (I'm in Windows now). You can email
me.
Do not lose ability to get to CWM. If you do, and all you can get to is the EMERGENCY download mode, you will find that the l45c is not
nearly as supported as you thought (just look at how many custom ROMs you could find). Flashing these firmware downloads may very well
brick your phone for real, especially since we are having difficulty finding the correct files that are not corrupt or really for a 'phone that may or
not be close....'.
I'd give you my phone number, but.... oh yeah, I'm bricked!!! lol!!! :cyclops:
Edit: Google for 'stock l45c images' (.img) files. They are hard to find. In fact, I did the same as you and couldn't find an original. I used
an older one. Know the definition of the word 'flash', and what you are flashing. You want to flash an .img, not a firmware update. (Firmware is the lowest. Think programming: machine>assembly>language). You are 'in assembly'. Yay!! Stay away from 'machine' !!)
Nandroid
COULD YOU PLEASE SEND ME THE BACKUPS!? Or any files you have for this phone!? Please and thank you!
what os did you use to flash the firmware my phone is bricked as well and none of these methods work, i always get load library error 126.

Some of these links don't work any more. I've attached a ZIP archive of various versions of the LGMobileDL.dll file. I downloaded these versions from zhaodll.co (very skeptically at first), but ran them through my virus checked, then stripped the junk and identifier files that site added to the package.
Unfortunately, I haven't had success at using any of these modules with the KDZ program. I still either hit the LoadLibrary error ("LoadLibrary Error(126)"), or the KDZ program hangs.

We are discussing a few different DLL files. I discovered that LGMobileDL.dll does not cause the problem. The absence of a different DLL file causes the problem (and the LGMobileDL reports the error).
Unfortunately, the download for this specific device (the CAB file) does not contain a DLL which the flasher application expects to use. LG's own "Mobile Support Tool" downloads a file from LG's servers and expects the package to contain this DLL file to process the flashing, but for the LGL45C, the package does not contain this DLL (again, from LG's own servers!).

How to upgrade Firmware from Italian TIM Carrier to Customized Official Italian FW

Hello Everyone!
I am not an expert, but I'd to know, if I can change my actual Firmware "Italian TIM Carrier " to an Official Italian NO Carrier.
It's possibile to follow any guide or link here ?
Actually I have Firmware Nougat 47.0.A.7.137/R15A and i would to updgrade to Oreo 47.1.A.5.51/R2B
If someone could help me, I will thanks in advance.!!
Just download Oreo Italian customized firmware with Xperifirm (you can search for it with Google and download the application). This program would download first the desired firmware and then extract it. Search on xda forum for Newflasher application by munjeni, just download zip and extract it in the same folder where you have downloaded and extracted oreo firmware. Delete all .ta files present in folder and user.sin if you don't want to have corrupted data when turning on your phone after flashing it. Make a backup of your important data and staff present on phone first. Charge your phone completely, when ready, shut it down completely. Hold volume down button and connect phone to pc with his own USB cable. Run newflasher.exe and follow instructions prompted in Windows ms-dos prompt window, it would search for phone and than start flashing. Beware for your PC to not shutting down before is all completed. When flashing is over, turn on your phone and let it setting for a while. If you have any problems can use Sony pc companion application to reset it completely
Good job and pay little attention to what you would do
If not completely sure of what you are going to do just stop and ask. It's better than having a bricked device
Take a look here, that's the guide I followed for flashing my xzp first time :

Good to know it's all fine
