Hi !
My Problem is, if i use the YouTube App to search for popular Music Videos like for example "Owl City - Fireflies", it only finds some ****ty fanmade videos...
if i search the video with "YouTube downloader", it finds the right video...
so it looks like the YouTube app is censoring my search results, or whats the cause for that problem?
got a HTC Magic 32A from Three in Austria with SuperD 1.9.3 on it...
It might have something to do with the country you live in, I could not see alot of videos when I was in Costa Rica. I am not sure, after all - I am just a hill billy.
Mine does the same. I'm pretty sure it is not a "problem".

Hi there,
Does anyone know of any good sites I can watch live tv on my HD2?
Perhaps including satellite channels..
Thanks in advance..
The best site I have found so far, is http://www.tvcatchup.com
BUT you need to use Skyfire as your browser as it needs flash support.
Seems to work nice, it does quite a few channels, but it is a live service, so what you see is what is actually broadcasting on that channel now.
You should actually need a TV license for it, as it is live.
thanks thats great
i'll try this later, cheers.
For the basic channels (including the world cup games) use myplayer, one of the best programs available for the hd2 imho - also has iplayer, premiership matches (not live) catch up (4OD,5 etc.) and pay stuff.
ye myplayer is ace
http://www.skynetsoftware.com/myPlayer/index.aspx
Im gonna use it to watch the match tonight when im in work
I cant get anything to work for tonights game... myplayer, opera ... i installed flashlite too... nothing...
Try this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338350
You need to register (free) but it works a treat.
myplayer works fine for me!
http://www.skynetsoftware.com/myPlayer/index.aspx
It does say that you'll need Coreplayer installed as well to watch the Live TV though!
ยน CorePlayer is required to view the Live Digital TV (UK) streams

You don't actually need coreplayer for the live tv. Just set the digital tv quality to std or low on the options menu and then u can using streamingplayer or wmp - which needs to be set as ur rtmp player.

I wrote a guide about that!
Does anyone know of a way to watch 4OD?
Thats pretty much the only thing I want to watch on the move and Its one of the few things I cant get working.
Myplayer doesnt show it in any lists unless Im missing something. Was it removed from the latest version of myplayer? I ask that because Ive seen more than a couple of people state that 4od is included in myplayer.
Do the old versions of myplayer still have working 4od?
Any other way to watch it?
Skyfire just gives me a black screen when I try to watch any of the 4od streams.
Anyone got this working at all???
Has anyone manage to view embedded video/audio clips on a bbc website? Niot through the iPlayer but direct on the web-page. this worked on my Original desire and DHD but not working on the S. I habe Flash 10.2 installed.
anyone got this working?
It's working on mine, which country are you in?
I am in the UK.
Is yours an unbranded phone? And the bbc footnall clips on the Scottish Premier section or interviews?????
Unbranded yes, couldn't see the Scottish football, but news clips on the rest of the site worked. I'll have a look on my work phone tomorrow, may be something they haven't updated on that part of the site, user agent?
I'll try opera...

The video / audio clips on the News / front page work for me too using the standard browser but the clips on the sports web-pages don't.
However I stumbled accross a fix, not very tidy but if you replace the news.bbc.whatever with cdnedge.bbc.whatever it works - the cdnedge is something to do with the cache - maybe somebody knows how to change cache settings??
It looks like the HQ mode in youtube app is actually 480p.
Anybody knows of a way to coerce youtube app to play 720p in HQ mode?
Before trolls start yelling that 720p on 800x480 will not look different than 480p, let me tell you - IT DOES, BIG TIME. Huge difference. Easiest way to watch youtube in 720p right now is to use "jetvd" app, but it's not as well designed as youtube. Hence the question.

''Sorry...currently no option to play HD by default and there never has been. The "playback settings" in your account settings currently only pertain to either 360p or 480p videos.''
There is a whole thread about it here.
Yep, but that thread didn't go anywhere.
I'm just wondering since jetvd is able to pull videos in 720p, perhaps there's a way to hack youtube app to pull in that quality as well.
Although jetvd uses the stock video player app to play them.. maybe youtube app doesn't have capability for anything above 480p..
ohh nice. i never used that app. just played some youtube videos over the mhl adapter.. very nice! i dont see anything wrong with the jetvd myself.
Why can't I see the jetvd pro version? They took it out off the market? ?

Go to www.jetvd.com on your phone. Click the Download button at the bottom of the screen. Then click the red Download button at the bottom of that screen to download JetVD Plus! The dev is giving it away free now, apparently.
Yes is a huge diference between youtube quality and jetdv 720p
Thanks im download from your link

Thanks I like the app really, may be I'm not gonna use YouTube app now, it is really HD on jetvd,
Nice find

jetVD is awesome, but it's not perfect.
In youtube app you can see your subscriptions, your channel, the design is nicer.. you can watch video and see comments at the same time, plus post them.
JetVD is only for watching in HD really. And search isn't as nice - there are no "related" videos, etc.
In a perfect world, there would be a hack for youtube app to play 720p. That'd be an end-all solution.
works good for now thanks for the tip!!!

well you can use the stock web browser and type about:useragent into the adress bar setting the user agent to desktop and then access the full site. and i just downloaded jet vd and it has related videos. i dont care much for that other stuff though.
Just looking for an app that I can use to search YouTube for music, and play its audio only. Theres a lot of music I listen to on YouTube, but don't want to deal with buffering the whole video, keeping the phone awake etc. Found an app called UMusic, but it has been removed from market and can't find an apk anywhere. Anyone know of any alternatives? Thanks

There was an app called "Ghost town" and rather good it was too. But it also shared the same fate, and was removed. It's obviously Google clamping down on certain licensing laws.
I use these now, they run from the Grooveshark Databases, but are free, and are rather good.
Doods music Steamer :

Tinyshark:

*Note- You need to download Flash Player from Market first*
Happy listening.
Regards
I have tinyshark, and its really good, just still a fair amount of music I can't find ... completely forgot about ghost town, I had it a long time ago. Thank you for your reply, ill look into it

heh, i was looking for the same a couple of months ago. i tried most (all?) of the apps i found to do this (or something like this), some of them worked with flash and others didn't, but i found none of the apps really reliable, as in they all gave me issues sooner or later... ranging from connection problems, major buffering issues, app crashing, to no music found, etc. etc. none of them worked as well as the default youtube app, if only it would work in the background! So would love to hear if there is a simple and nice alternative that showed up recently!!
Yeah ghost town is dead... shame someone can't modify the YouTube app to do this..

Yea, +1 that my friend!
ghost town is here: http://ghosttownapp.com/
I wasn't able to download it from the ghost town site. I found an apk for it but it will no longer play music

you sir, deserve quite a large cookie.
my ONLY complaint, which i noticed in the comments as well... is the quality. however, it may have been the particular song i chose, or my phone, or whatever. I'll be trying this out in the car tomorrow. Thanks, I def appreciate it!
Was wondering if we have any apps or sites to stream Movies new releases or searchable movies in good quality or Hd ...even movies that are just released..
(Much like Movies2go for cydia)
Something along the lines of that app.
Or even a site that works well.. With no ads or watch ads for credits
Anything better than Netflix which all movies are Sooo outdated.
Not looking for an app
More like a site that I can bookmark and stream Full length movies .
