Was wondering if we have any apps or sites to stream Movies new releases or searchable movies in good quality or Hd ...even movies that are just released..
(Much like Movies2go for cydia)
Something along the lines of that app.
Or even a site that works well.. With no ads or watch ads for credits
Anything better than Netflix which all movies are Sooo outdated.

I know some .. like hdviet.com but they may not accept ip outside of vietnam, and for english i went to glowgaze.com, they update really fast, i catch all my tv shows here.

when i go to watch netflix movies on my gtab the website lets me click on the movie but wont play it. it does it on certain websites too to watch videos. any suggestions?
Netflix is using the Microsoft Silverlight plugin to play the movies in a browser. This is not available for Android.
Playon is supposed to be released for Andriod ..... it plays netflix ....that seems to be the closest, soon to be viable option
Android app supposed to come this century. Hopefully that will help our streaming woes.

If they ever do it that would be nice. I have Playon loaded on my server and using an app called upnplay I can access Playon, but so far have not been able to play anything. It tries, and then quits.

Hey man just use ice films (WWW.icefilms.info) , similar to Netflix. If u have cookies enabled u can save the shows/movies you want to see by clicking on the yellow star next to the title. I wrote a how to guide for it. I can't post links yet but I just wrote it yesterday. The thread is called, How to get icefilms to work on the g tab.

It looks like the HQ mode in youtube app is actually 480p.
Anybody knows of a way to coerce youtube app to play 720p in HQ mode?
Before trolls start yelling that 720p on 800x480 will not look different than 480p, let me tell you - IT DOES, BIG TIME. Huge difference. Easiest way to watch youtube in 720p right now is to use "jetvd" app, but it's not as well designed as youtube. Hence the question.

I'm just wondering since jetvd is able to pull videos in 720p, perhaps there's a way to hack youtube app to pull in that quality as well.
Although jetvd uses the stock video player app to play them.. maybe youtube app doesn't have capability for anything above 480p..
ohh nice. i never used that app. just played some youtube videos over the mhl adapter.. very nice! i dont see anything wrong with the jetvd myself.
Why can't I see the jetvd pro version? They took it out off the market? ?

Go to www.jetvd.com on your phone. Click the Download button at the bottom of the screen. Then click the red Download button at the bottom of that screen to download JetVD Plus! The dev is giving it away free now, apparently.

jetVD is awesome, but it's not perfect.
In youtube app you can see your subscriptions, your channel, the design is nicer.. you can watch video and see comments at the same time, plus post them.
JetVD is only for watching in HD really. And search isn't as nice - there are no "related" videos, etc.
In a perfect world, there would be a hack for youtube app to play 720p. That'd be an end-all solution.

well you can use the stock web browser and type about:useragent into the adress bar setting the user agent to desktop and then access the full site. and i just downloaded jet vd and it has related videos. i dont care much for that other stuff though.
i've found a few...share them people

The OP listed tasker as an app. Its on the play store. People can post whatever cool apps they use. If you don't like it, start your own thread.

This. And I mean seriously, how long until these apps hit market? It's the most available platform. A cool app is a cool app on xda or store
But we already have tons of "what's your favorite app" threads. It would be interesting to discover new sous that aren't already on the okay store. But it's whatever. Do as you please everyone.

Jbeans 4.2 Camera- Full Screen Camera (compared to 4.1.2) and gallery you could flash for your 4.1.2 phone
Mediahouse Player- An organized app that collects all the shared music videos off of shared directories on your computer use in conjunction with. Allows you to favorite directories/devices. Really neat app
mx player- easy ui can easily disable/enable hardware software encoding for audio and video during play
v player- like mxplayer, could be better with UI, but unlike MX player allows you to set buffer to a whopping 8mb...so longer initial load for video but plays back perfectly otherwise
ES file explorer- save network drives
I usually make the default player for ES v player and for media house mx player. Good setup. Mx Player allows you to manage defaults for video players in-app too. Another neat feature. Well worth the money for that app.
From the computer end there are a lot of options to stream (I made a post about this a while back...search on me) but I like PS3 Media server 1.70.1 for my PS3. It allows for real-time transcoding for devices where your video format (ie mkv) isn't available. I also install TVersity server on my computer end and both servers as well as the raw files allow me to wirelessly stream every tv show except for planet earth which has a ridiculous bitrate.
Only other thing to worry about on the computer end is to make sure your sharing settings etc are set up as openly as possible. I have a homegroup password and everyone in it is allowed to at least read my directories

im trying to hook up my mother in law, she has a sony Xperia tablet Z
and she wants to be able to watch movies on it.
i tried looking for some app with a database of movies that you just click, download and watch (preferable not steaming because somethings the internet here is very slow) and i didnt find one, so if there is one please do tell me.
on the other hand, i tried finding an app that i could somehow link web pages with streamed movies in them and just download that, like IDM does on a pc... is there any app that does that??

I have been using a lot of video streaming apps and the common flaw among most of them is they are not very fast.
Some take way too much time to search for files while some are fast at searches but give a very poor show when rendering the video content.
I know its too much to expect from free app but and I am not against the in app advertisements but most of the apps are bloated with adds.
Any recommendations on good streaming app that is free ?

I don't think because you are using a free streaming app you need to suffer diminished quality. I have been using tea tv for a while now and have zero complaints. There is always updated high-quality content available whenever I want to watch it. Try it out!
