BBC Embedded clips - HTC Desire S

Has anyone manage to view embedded video/audio clips on a bbc website? Niot through the iPlayer but direct on the web-page. this worked on my Original desire and DHD but not working on the S. I habe Flash 10.2 installed.
anyone got this working?

It's working on mine, which country are you in?

I am in the UK.
Is yours an unbranded phone? And the bbc footnall clips on the Scottish Premier section or interviews?????

Unbranded yes, couldn't see the Scottish football, but news clips on the rest of the site worked. I'll have a look on my work phone tomorrow, may be something they haven't updated on that part of the site, user agent?
I'll try opera...

Opera works fine for me.

The video / audio clips on the News / front page work for me too using the standard browser but the clips on the sports web-pages don't.
However I stumbled accross a fix, not very tidy but if you replace the news.bbc.whatever with cdnedge.bbc.whatever it works - the cdnedge is something to do with the cache - maybe somebody knows how to change cache settings??

Htc Touch HD - BBC iPlayer - Media Streaming help

Could a Mod remove this please, i can't seem to delete it and i've reposted in the correct section for the blackstone mobile, sorry for the inconvenience
(I made this thread in the correct sub forum... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3299777#post3299777)
Hi guys, i've been looking around for the past 2 days including searching through these forums for ages and I can't quite find the answer i'm looking for.
I've got the Touch HD it came installed with pvplayer,
when I go to the BBC iPlayer mobile site the videos hang on the connecting screen.
I've seen a video of the htc Touch HD running Iplayer but the media player the browser links to isn't the one I have.
http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1902#comment-10175
That's the page I saw the video on.
I tried installing the Htc Streaming Media app, if i'm running that i get it
to buffer and I get audio but no video.
The toolbar also looks really small and it's garbled on the bottom right hand side of the screen. so i'm thinking I might have an old version or something.
So the question is.....
Does anyone know what player the guy in the video is using?
and if it's a different version of the Htc Streaming Media app
where can I get it.
Any help appreciated, oh and sorry if it's covered elsewhere, i've been going through these forums for ages trying to find it but all the answers seem to be relating to old hacks before the BBC started supporting the phone.

YouTube App missing Videos

Hi !
My Problem is, if i use the YouTube App to search for popular Music Videos like for example "Owl City - Fireflies", it only finds some ****ty fanmade videos...
if i search the video with "YouTube downloader", it finds the right video...
so it looks like the YouTube app is censoring my search results, or whats the cause for that problem?
got a HTC Magic 32A from Three in Austria with SuperD 1.9.3 on it...
It might have something to do with the country you live in, I could not see alot of videos when I was in Costa Rica. I am not sure, after all - I am just a hill billy.
Mine does the same. I'm pretty sure it is not a "problem".

Watching TV on the HD2 (UK)

Hi there,
Does anyone know of any good sites I can watch live tv on my HD2?
Perhaps including satellite channels..
Thanks in advance..
The best site I have found so far, is http://www.tvcatchup.com
BUT you need to use Skyfire as your browser as it needs flash support.
Seems to work nice, it does quite a few channels, but it is a live service, so what you see is what is actually broadcasting on that channel now.
You should actually need a TV license for it, as it is live.
thanks thats great
i'll try this later, cheers.
For the basic channels (including the world cup games) use myplayer, one of the best programs available for the hd2 imho - also has iplayer, premiership matches (not live) catch up (4OD,5 etc.) and pay stuff.
ye myplayer is ace

Im gonna use it to watch the match tonight when im in work
I cant get anything to work for tonights game... myplayer, opera ... i installed flashlite too... nothing...
Try this...

You need to register (free) but it works a treat.
myplayer works fine for me!

It does say that you'll need Coreplayer installed as well to watch the Live TV though!
ยน CorePlayer is required to view the Live Digital TV (UK) streams

You don't actually need coreplayer for the live tv. Just set the digital tv quality to std or low on the options menu and then u can using streamingplayer or wmp - which needs to be set as ur rtmp player.

I wrote a guide about that!
Does anyone know of a way to watch 4OD?
Thats pretty much the only thing I want to watch on the move and Its one of the few things I cant get working.
Myplayer doesnt show it in any lists unless Im missing something. Was it removed from the latest version of myplayer? I ask that because Ive seen more than a couple of people state that 4od is included in myplayer.
Do the old versions of myplayer still have working 4od?
Any other way to watch it?
Skyfire just gives me a black screen when I try to watch any of the 4od streams.
Anyone got this working at all???

[Q] Has anyone here got the BBC iPlayer app working properly?

Has anyone here got the BBC iPlayer app working properly? Mine just redirects me to the browser which does work but lacks finesse.

That's all it does for now
used to load the app in an old version but it didn't work
Has anybody got a HD to work smoothly with iplayer? I can't...
No same here it works but sometimes video/sound out of sync..just looks lik we are not getting a dedicated app for tablets...itv player don't support the transformer either though I did side load the apk and it does work but not optimally.

I find it crazy that individuals can up with brilliant apps that support multiple devices and generally get updated for new versions very quickly when larger development teams at the BBC or other organisations can't seem to the power button their Android devices.

Can't play episodes downloaded from BBC iPlayer (sideloading).

Hi guys.
Whenever I download episodes from BBC iPlayer to watch later, they never play back on my HTC Sensation (but they do on other devices like my Galaxy Tab).
I'm not even sure if HTC devices are supported:
http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/mobile_iplayer/mobile_phone
Is there a fix or workaround for this? Thanks in advance.
I had the same issue - the Beeb bascially don't support Android for watching anything downloaded. I'm missing my HD2 now.....
Hi,
Try:
http://m.tvcatchup.com/
Also:
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/sport/american-football.html
Not quite the same ,but worth a look, and it works well on mobile network.
Try using MX video player from the market.
Not sure what format the iplayer downloads are in.
