*edit* Nevermind, its working now.
I like that haptic feedback is enabled. With this feature, I think this keyboard has just become the #1 undisputed in my eyes.

won't install on a VGA screen. damnit.

Is it possible to include other languages from previous versions?

What Android phone are you using with a VGA screen?

can someone pull the keyboard from the installer¿ When i switch ROM's, it says I'm using different device and won't enable swyping-just tapping. (when i use a 2.1 rom instead of a 1.6).

I'm running into this issue as well. I am using a G1 (HTC Dream) running Cyanogen 4.2.15.1

I want to try, but it seems that the beta version has been capped.

TouchGL driver HD Mini (smoother)

The TouchGL driver of the Mini (the driver that is responsible for multitouch features like pinch-to-zoom) seems to be much smoother than the LEO driver. At least in Opera that is. Could be that this is only the case in the new Opera build of the mini.
Note: it is reported that on some roms (mostly stock roms) it will not work (see some posts in this thread). Therefore a word of warning: install at your own risk
The roms on which there seems to be no problems:
Dutty 1.2 HG
My own rom
---
Please give some feedback if it works on your rom. Also if it doesn't work, report here if the cab can be uninstalled without any harm. This will inform other users in their decision whether to take the risk.
Happy touching (No not there!)

Anyway, if you like, try it. I made a cab that can be uninstalled if you don't like it.

It is alway hard to say for sure with these kind of things. I've installed it to try some other things. Then I ran Opera and I really thought that the pinch-to-zoom was more, how do I say it, continuous
So before you install it, first try some pitch-to-zoom operations in Opera, that way one can compare it better.

I assume you did a soft reset? So the general conclusion will be that it doesn't work on stock roms. I think it has something to do with permissions. One can try SDKCerts... I will look if I can sign it correctly.

Just so you know..and yes, I did a soft reset
Installed, softreset. Same as above post, it disabled the pinch-to-zoom.
Uninstalled and got a few strange error-messages from Manila.
Reverted back to last backup, everything fine again.

Opera has it own rendering engine! You probably do know that Opera's rendering can be adjusted from the default 30fps to 50, making it heaps much smoother... wouldn't this be linked?

I am using Duttys HG 1.2 and have absoluetly no problem with it at all! Whatsoever! Just install, soft reset and voila!
I dont know what you guys are doing but it sure as hell works on mines and I do noticed the difference.
Just make sure you try out a webpage without the driver then install the driver. You'll notice the difference.

AOSP Keyboard

The XDA keyboard is great an all, but I've really loved the AOSP Keyboard on the older DarchLegend roms. I don't see it on any of his new roms, and i can't find an .apk for it.
I've searched for awhile, no luck. Anyone know where it's at?
are you talking about the OEM android keyboard? if so then i second that. i'd love to find out how to get the keyboard back. i hate the htc keyboard with a passion
Yeah. The HTC keyboard, and our version of it, arent great. I also find them very laggy at times; I have to type very slowly and deliberately, which isn't cool.
This should work, just flash from recovery.
http://www.mediafire.com/?qjymjydmw0m
EDIT: Works with latest Sprint Leak, but also works with old Legend leak.
So try it on the new
Perfect, thanks!
So I flashed this keyboard and it shows up under my Keyboard settings but the HTC Keyboard still shows up when I want to type. Is there something I'm missing? I'm using a flashed version of the Sprint 2.1 leak.

Awesome, thanks a bunch. I've only had the phone for a week. Learn something new every day hehe
I tried out this keyboard, and it's no faster than the HTC keyboard. Swype seems like the only input method that isn't ridiculously laggy on this phone.

Not in my experience. With the sound and vibration off, it's just as fast as the sense keyboard with sound and vibration off, same goes for them both on. Also, it keeps giving me nonsensical autocorrections. It tries to correct common words like "an" to "Android".

this keyboard makes my life a lot easier
what i'm really interested in is how to do it for future apps?
It seems that alot of cooks are cooking in the XDA Sense keyboard and I have found it extremely laggy. Glad I found this to install. Thanks.
When I installed the AOSP keyboard, the a and l both have gaps on the side of them and are transparent, is there any way to fix this?
Using the keyboard in Darchdroid has made me like my phone again. The HTC keyboard is so painfully laggy its mindnumbing. The stock Android keyboard is instant and accurate, love it.

Same here. I have been using it for awhile and I like it alot more. The keys are smaller which as I get more accurate I have found I can type faster than on the htc keyboard.

[Apps] Hi Res HTC_IME For CM6; 2.2/Hi Res Swype For CM6; 2.2

As some people have noticed, the regular 2.1 apk's force close everytime you try to open it on 2.2. I didnt see a thread here for the 2.2 version's yet i seen many questions in many different threads as to why it wont work or if theres alternate versions.
I am not responsible for what happens to your phone in any way shape or form, what you choose to do with this is solely your choice. I also take no credit for this as all the credit for the HTC_IME mod goes to jonasl and the credit for Swype Beta goes to the makers of Swype, im simply just reposting the links.

I am wondering the same thing so bump. It seems like the issue is the one we are using supposedly force closes or something. If that what the issue is then thats wrong. I have swype from the 2.1 update and it is working fine on CM6 RC1.
Someone please clear this up for us.

Im pretty sure there isnt a difference between the two. I think it only effects certain users because no matter what i did, i couldnt get any other version of swype to work on CM6 2.2 then this one. If you search the forums, you will see some other people sharing the same characteristics as we do, its hit or miss...

Cyanogenmod 7 for Harmony Released!

Though not specifically listed for us, CM7 for harmony was released along with the other builds today. It looks and runs great so far, and the Tablet tweaks work really well, I like having the buttons in the bottom left personally. I haven't had alot of time with it, but I have yet to spot anything out of place and it runs great so far.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=harmony
There are a few bugs in the keyboard as numbers do not show up properly. Everyone should thank Bekit as he's really pushed CM7 for the G-Tab and spent a ton of time hacking away at code.
::edit::
Nevermind, their Wiki site is just screwed up showing out of date links. http://mirror.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.0-Harmony-signed.zip

Do you know if it supports location-by-WiFi?
I'm getting ready to give it a try.
Thanks.
I was running this since beta and rc and its more bug free than ever. The stock keyboard does suck on a tablet. The best one is SwiftKey for tablets. Go to their website and sign up for vip and you can dl the beta.
Now that we are running cm, can we start using rom manager and whatever version of cwm it installs or is that still a problem for g tabs?
MC
Been running this for about a week now (clearly not the stable as it was JUST released) and have been really happy with it.
Side note I do hate the keyboard as it is just a little small (for me but i have big hands).
I do hope this version fixes the DSP Manager FC issue. I was going to install the nightly yesterday which had the fix but never did get around to it.

Right now, it most probably is. Let Harmony devices get rooted before the Harmony Release gets traction and "neutralization"
Very sweet...
Overall feels very responsive and smooth (though that could be from the data/system/cache wipe before installing).
WiFi location works very well.
Tablet Tweaks is a nice addition as well as the standard CyanogenMod Settings.
Notification swipe for the Power Widget is nice.
Haven't looked at the themes or profiles yet.
how long do ya think it will take to have the nvidia files merged into gingerbread roms? cuz the poor playback is a definate deal breaker for me but i would love to run cm7
Recovery?
Has anyone else had any issues in getting into CWM after installing this?!? I cannot at all get to recovery. It just boots straight into CM7.

TouchPal keyboard 4.8 beta

this keyboard is the best I've used yet. it's like swype except it learns from it's mistakes and adapts to your typing style.
It's in beta so you can try to get on, or if not search for it you can easily find it.
i highly recommend it!
Here's a video of it in action:
Gotta try it, thanks for the heads up! But if it's buggy, I'll revert back to Swiftkey X.

I couldn't cope with the auto correction when pressing space bar .. and if i turned that off it wouldn't suggest words for me. Plus the swype was having problems with the word prediction. They are releasing a newer beta for it soon that should fix some of these problem though may have to re-try it again once that comes out.
