The TouchGL driver of the Mini (the driver that is responsible for multitouch features like pinch-to-zoom) seems to be much smoother than the LEO driver. At least in Opera that is. Could be that this is only the case in the new Opera build of the mini.
Note: it is reported that on some roms (mostly stock roms) it will not work (see some posts in this thread). Therefore a word of warning: install at your own risk
The roms on which there seems to be no problems:
Dutty 1.2 HG
My own rom
---
Please give some feedback if it works on your rom. Also if it doesn't work, report here if the cab can be uninstalled without any harm. This will inform other users in their decision whether to take the risk.
Happy touching (No not there!)

Anyway, if you like, try it. I made a cab that can be uninstalled if you don't like it.

It is alway hard to say for sure with these kind of things. I've installed it to try some other things. Then I ran Opera and I really thought that the pinch-to-zoom was more, how do I say it, continuous
So before you install it, first try some pitch-to-zoom operations in Opera, that way one can compare it better.
it actually removed my pinch to zoom im using stock t mobile usa rom

Why would you do such a thing? I think the pinch-to-zoom is one of the great features of the hd2.

Humm... that's something the OP should look into.....
BTW, I am using Dutty 1.2 HG and I have no problem with it.
It's actually a little smoother and noticeable. But I like it. I am sticking with it! Great Find!

Did you do a soft reset?
Can anyone comment on wether this improves the smoothness of the HD Mini lockscreen?

Sure I did.
One side note, after uninstalling it certain start up programs were messed up. I have to restore my last back up to resolve.

I assume you did a soft reset? So the general conclusion will be that it doesn't work on stock roms. I think it has something to do with permissions. One can try SDKCerts... I will look if I can sign it correctly.
Removes pinch to zoom on Miri V8...
Just so you know..and yes, I did a soft reset
Installed, softreset. Same as above post, it disabled the pinch-to-zoom.
Uninstalled and got a few strange error-messages from Manila.
Reverted back to last backup, everything fine again.
ROM: stock 1.66.405.2 WWE
Manila: 2.5.19211619.0
OS: 5.2.21869

Opera has it own rendering engine! You probably do know that Opera's rendering can be adjusted from the default 30fps to 50, making it heaps much smoother... wouldn't this be linked?

Wow! I can't believe that you guys are all having problems with it!
I am using Duttys HG 1.2 and have absoluetly no problem with it at all! Whatsoever! Just install, soft reset and voila!
I dont know what you guys are doing but it sure as hell works on mines and I do noticed the difference.
Just make sure you try out a webpage without the driver then install the driver. You'll notice the difference.

I do not know where does this come from. I just found it on a torrent website.
OS only, will not change the others.
I feel it work greate, and it's uncooked. I like it.
Here is the Link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/21421637/WM6.Crossbow.WWE.HTC.Wizard.v5.2.660-sck.rar.html
I did notice it before.....downloaded it but didn't put it on. Is it any different than some of the other ones that are doing 5.2.318, which I seen as the most common.
Isn't that the orwell version?
Orwells!!
You're correct - v5.2.660 is orwells. Unless it has been modified but according to the first post (uncooked) i'd say it's Orwells!!
I just installed it.....and both of you are right....it the Orwells. I had forgotten all about that one. Its been so long since I had Orwells on one of my MDAs.
So, What is Orwells?

You can install cool camera and assign it to the camera button. Works great. That's what I had done when I had Orwells installed.
Excuse me, but why I can not download the rom file on http://rapidshare.com/?

Or anybody have an link download htc camera default software ?
I´m download the ROM but i´m a have use the camera application and i will like test the rom with the camera software intalled.
Sorry for my bad english.
I do not remember that I posted this. It's weird.
i am facing a problem with the camera it seems like it works in the night mode. its slow and when i click the pic never comes properly. the size of the aperture seems more than the normal which can be used to click night pics but you have to stand still (dont even breath) is there some setting to change this or some reg setting?
Use the search and you'll discover the answer: No!
is there some fix for it? i read that changing the radio helps in fixing some camera problem...is this problem also fixed?

please read the wiki and search through the threads. I promise your answer is in there.
OK, im feeling generous, change your radio and all of your problems are solved.
yeah i ran into that problem with the Dutty Hybrid Rom, i think the last version... and i also changed my Radio last 2 is .17 and i lost my camera, but still had sound.. So i changed to Dutty's Dual touch v1.1 and evverything works great!!

you said you have internet and keyboard problems can you explain
sure. the keyboard lag was incredible. i disabled the xt9 (i think that is what it was called) but to no avail. the internet just hung up at connecting. no matter what address i typed in or used from my fav's. other than that, i was loving ur rom.
i hard reset 2x, once before the screen alignment and once after the initial config. i then installed my apps and did a soft reset.
let me know if you need more info.
your roms rock and are by far the best out there.
I've noticed that two of my coworkers with kaisers have ROMs that prerender the landscape switch. Instead of it displaying little by little, it freezes for a second and then displays the whole thing. Can anyone tell me how this is done? I would like to incorporate it into my Herald ROM and, unfortunately, searching has been less than fruitful.
Thanks guys!

I am worry this is not by design. Kaiser official WM6.0 is known for choppy video display and it's the freeze you see w/ landscape rendering.

Well, it's a darn awesome bug. LOL
Oh boy... lol
Well... I wonder if we could do something like that as a feature? lol
If you ever release a cab that reverse this "effect" letme know Cause I`ts not so cool when its hardcoded to the bone

Easy, just put lots of background programs and take the CPU to 100% load, then you can switch to landscape mode and see this special effect.

lol. Sounds like a good plan.
the new flip rendering is because of a new .dll found in the 6.1 update and a netherlands rom that came out a few months ago.
I believe it is the only thing in the updates that had any hardware accelerated functions.
i know that dutty incorporated it into his 6.1 roms but i am not sure if there is a cab with these driver updates only.
that said, you could try just copy and pasting the dll's into a rom image and tryin it on ur herald, but that might not work for ya- or it might be bad for ur device, id unno
Hi,
I am running the above rom which i am very happy with.
I have been looking at the ATi 3D drivers. I am not bothered about the 3D stuff at this point and was just after the performance benifits.
If i installed the drivers would it just work or would it screw things up?

p.s. has anyone got the latest version of MP3 trimmer?

No, it won't.
Is it possible to have a compatible .cab in future that supports non 3d oriented roms?

bump
i've just put this on my dutty's WM6.1 build 19209
works fine. in terms of just opening up and closing the keyboard, the time to change the orientation of the screen is about a second quicker than the default Orange UK ROM.
I'm just wondering which of these roms you are using out of these two and why. And if your using the newest build one of the older ones. I've been trying for a while to decide but never do. Any feedback is appreciated.
depends on if you want to have wm6.1 or 6.5
it doesnt matter to me i just wanted people to tell me which one they liked best and why. and that would help figure out which one i wanted.
6.5 all the way. Why? Because its the hottest thing around. Finger friendly and doesnt look like crap compared to the horrible nastalgic 6.1!

It says in my signature. I just switched from V19 back to V3. Its been stable enough for me not to switch back to 6.1. Really theres a big difference in Juststable and Justhome, and thats in a good way. The only true noticeable draw back is about 5mb less in justhome!
justhome v3. v19 has issues with opera mini.

Actuall thats been solved. just download the old version and it should work. ive started using v19 more. besides the lack of visual stuff its becoming my next favorite. Not as much as v3 though
