I have HTC Touch HD with English Windows Mobile 6.1 obtained in China (Beijing).
Internet over GPRS works fine, but i can not check or send e-mail over GPRS. Every time i try to do it i get "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings".
I used to have Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox with English Windows Mobile 5.0. I had the same problem. A friend of mine also has HTC with english Windows Mobile system, he has the same problem.
There is no such problem working over Wi-Fi. And there is no such problem working with GPRS outside China (in Russia for example)
As far as i know chinese windows mobile do not have this problem.
By the way Windows Live and MSN do not work over GPRS (same as mail). as well as ICQ and Jubber clients do not work over GPRS in China Mobile.
I believe the problem can be solved somehow, but i don't know how.
I suppose it's a problem of every phone using ENGLISH windows mobile.

Fisrt of all I'd like to thank you for that great website which has been very helpful for my entrance in windows mobile world
I've got a SFR HTC S710 flashed to Dr Gonzo latest ROM (running on bouygues telecom network). Everything is working great:
Calls
MMS
Internet Explorer Browsing
But I've got a strange issue: I can't use MSN messenger or donwload mails using Edge or GPRS. It always times out and ask for me to check if I'm under cover of data connection.
I've been using HTC auto config script to set the data connection up. And I can ensure i've got the right contract which allow me to do that
What I'm trying to figureout is:
Is it phone related ?
Is it a bug related to the RADIO version ?
Am I missing something in the configuration ?
Network limitation ?
MSN and mail have been tested and working ok with Wifi connectivity enabled.

Still no luck with Third party software using Edge or GPRS like (MSN, skype, or the embeded mail client)

I just got this phone and it has some issues :
I am un-able to sign in the Windows Live ( connected via wi-fi )
Installed Google mobile and also un able to log in to my gmail account...Likewise this occurs on my yahoo account....
I went very close to my wi-fi router to make sure it has adequate signals. No success either in getting signed -in..
I will appreciate any help on how to sign in successfully.. Maybe this has something to do with phone settings or connection settings or security settings....

Just bought a HTC Touch Pro with Windows Mobile 6.5. Its unbadged, not locked. I am using TMOBILE sim.
It has Facebook and Windows Live, however neither connects to the internet.

PROBLEM 1 - WINDOWS LIVE - There's a connectivity problem. Make sure you're in a area with good reception and try again.
NOTE - in max signal area, and I can browse the internet, youtube videos etc without issues
PROBLEM 2 - Facebook - Can't connect to facebook. Please check you're connected to the internet.

Seems to have been down to PROXY Server. I unticked use PROXY and they are both working fine now.

I am using Imate Jaq 3 - Windows Mobile 6 Professional Processor ARM926T OMAP850 recently i heard about Fring and am trying to Install it but am not able to do so
after the Initial Installation it say the following and goes on search mode
Establishing Connection....
Could not establish connection to the fring network. Would you like to start automatic search ? - yes
and again Establishing Connection
any suggestions !!!

I installed this yesterday on my Tilt2 with iDialer and it was working. Now I'm getting the same message..."Could not establish connection to the fring network..."
It looks like the site might be down as their mobile site indicates "Service Unavailable"
Dear all,
I am on vacation in Cyprus and uppon arriving I have bought a Primetel SIM card as it has free 100mb of traffic.
Primetel uses Cytavodafone netwprk and has the same internet con figuration. I am using Touch pro with stock ROM, and no modification (well I think it has the hspl as I have not reverted it), but it is using the stock FR 6.1 ROM.
The APN settings say that I should only use "internet" in the name, and that the username and password should be empty.
I have configuered a new modem connection with that specification, and I have set it to connect using it when internet is required.
It does connect to the internet, I can see the small G on the network signal bar, but I have no internet. I can not update weather, browse on internet or downlpad quickgps data.
I am using another sim card from the same provider with HD2 running android and it works perfectly.
Please if anyone could help me how make it work on WM 6.1 I would be very greatful.

Comle on people, please help me configure mobile internet on this device. I have done everything by the book and even though I am connected I have no internet. Is there some option I need to turn on oor off in order to make it work.
