Dear all,
I am on vacation in Cyprus and uppon arriving I have bought a Primetel SIM card as it has free 100mb of traffic.
Primetel uses Cytavodafone netwprk and has the same internet con figuration. I am using Touch pro with stock ROM, and no modification (well I think it has the hspl as I have not reverted it), but it is using the stock FR 6.1 ROM.
The APN settings say that I should only use "internet" in the name, and that the username and password should be empty.
I have configuered a new modem connection with that specification, and I have set it to connect using it when internet is required.
It does connect to the internet, I can see the small G on the network signal bar, but I have no internet. I can not update weather, browse on internet or downlpad quickgps data.
I am using another sim card from the same provider with HD2 running android and it works perfectly.
Please if anyone could help me how make it work on WM 6.1 I would be very greatful.

Comle on people, please help me configure mobile internet on this device. I have done everything by the book and even though I am connected I have no internet. Is there some option I need to turn on oor off in order to make it work.

im new here many thanks for that amazing group here.
i have yesterday upgraded my rom of my at&t tilt (kaiser tytn ii) to the new version, well all looks ok BUT...
since then i cant get internet connection and mms messages.
i have checked it the whole day today with my network company (im in israel) and we have reconfigured the modem connections but nothing its dead.
before i have done the upgrade all was just ok since yesterday its no connection.
i have checked arround and i found that there are many users that have the same problame all around the world.
since any mms message goes thru internet (etc. gprs,edge,hsdpa) i assume that the problame is with the internet connection and that blocks the mms messages.
my cell company told me that as she sees all is ok and i remember my settings too.
also even when i connect my tilt with usb to my computer i cant go on the web bacause it says "no connection".
i assume that they have planted in the registery any value that blocks any internet connection (as gprs etc.) if its not thru the own supllier, i can understand also why but the fact is that i get hspda connection and i see the icon of "connected" but somthing blocks it !!!!!
is there a way how we can digg in and remove that block that dosent allow the internert?????
is there a way to bypass it ????
or maybe i should go back to my old ROM is that possible????
again i remind u that:
1) all worked excellent till yesterday
2) the HSDPA establishes a connection but the explorer is dead.
3) i cant even connect thru my pc with usb while my pc is fully connected via dsl to the internet.
4) all setting are same and at once its "no connection"?
5) i see that meny users have that problame
if there is any way let me know
also how bad and ugly will it be if i go back to my old ROM and how do i do it.

Where did you download the rom from???
I know the one at HTC America is intended & configured for AT&T customer in North America. If a ROM was not released on your local AT&T or HTC site, that may contribute to your issues.
You may want to DL the network configuration wizard & give it a go at reconfiguring your device.

it was some hidden silly proxy that i needed to kick out.
now the internet works great BUT i cant send MMs messages.
the configuratins are all ok (i checked it today with my network company)
they say that thats a ROM problame (means that this might be a problame because i upgraded it to ROM 1.62)
is that right???
is there a solution???

But most likely your settings are incorrect.
Does the new AT&T ROM solve the Low Volume when using Bluetooth?
That is the only iserious issue I have with the Tilt.
I have been a Symbian user forever and the AT&T Tilt(Unlocked and using it on another service provider in India) is my first exposure to Windows mobile. I upgraded to the new AT&T Rom(1.62.502.0) and the low bluetooth volume issue is sorted out...I'm using the SE 970 stereo BT headset, which is working fine.(ADVANCE that should solve ur query)
My only issue now is that i am unable to use the Internet Explorer thru GPRS. Strangely i could configure and download my E mails thru Outlook. Also, when I Sync the Tilt with my PC, IE works fine using the net connection from the PC. Any insight/clues why I'm facing this issue?

I used to be a symbian fan. Then i switched to a Vox. was not too impressed. Then i discovered xda-developers!
You guys rock! In 4 days time, i was running Dr Gonzo's 1.1 ROM, and i have since fallen in love with the Vox.
Question: Does anyone here know how to configure GPRS for Airtel, India? It used to work fine for me till i switched to this phone. All settings (IP,etc are correct).
I get an error stating the remote host disconnected the session, or something to that effect.
WiFi works fine.
Any thoughts?

make sure to reboot ur phone after connection wizzard. it used to be a huge mission to set up gprs but since the wizzard came out its really a breeze! if its not working test ur sim with another phone just to make sure its not actually the sim thats not gprs enabled yet. if this is the case, phone ur service provider and ask them to activate it

Is there any way so I can add settings for my network in connection setup wizzard in a gonzo rom 6.1?

Even I use the Airtel Network.The connection setup wizard did the trick for me and gprs works beautifully. Which ROM do you use?

I am running Dr Gonzo's 1.1 Rom. I have tried the connection setup wizard, and have also tried manually entering the settings.
The connection is active on my Sim, i just checked on other phone. (Nokia N70 Music edition).
@prajith: Do you have airtel mobile office enabled? or is it working just on airtel live/GPRS?

for window live & msn msgr, whenever I click on connect, it will prompt me "windows live was unable to establish an internet connection. Pls check your internet settings and make sure that u hv access to data servcve under yr billing plan. If u need helo, pls contact your mobile service provider".

ya i had the same problem but what i did was make a new connection in wifi and start over again and it worked got windons live to work and windoes messenger to work, hope that will help
well i dont you wifi i use my gprs connection or hspda if availible

My first post here, even though I have had a lot of benefit from using this forum.
I have just updated my HTC magic with this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552274
and now I canøt connect to the mobile network anymore. Whenever I try to refresh the weather or create my email account, I get the following message: This application requires network access. Enable data connection or Wi-Fi to download data.
I currently do nt have access to a wi-fi network, so what do I do?
FYI I have no problem calling my phone, so I must be connected to the network.
Hope anyone can help.

Guess you have to manually set your APN settings. Look for info at your providers homepage.

i have recently downloaded uc browser 7.2 and installed it on my spv c600 . but when it comes to initialization process it doesnt detect network .i really dont know whats the problem. im using an edge connection . ive tried previous versions but its still the same thing. can someone please help me?

maybe you should try UC Browser 7.4 offers support WAP2.0, you can mengundugnya at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847784
It works for me with 7.2.2.51. I hardly ever use that browser though as for WinMo standard also Opera mini and Opera 10 are available that both work great.
I think that UC is also not using ActiveSync connections, so your device must not be connected to the PC when you try using it. It also asks if you want to use a WIFI connection if availble, which other browsers don't do. So it seems that UC is not using the standard hierarchy for connections but picks them in an own logic.
The normal sequence of connections is:
- AS (including Proxy Settings)
- WIFI
- GSM
it still doesnt detect the network, i tried to change the phone settings from http to wap but still shows the same result . opera mobile and opera mini work properly on both settings , uc browser java version. so im wondering what could be the problem.
I think UC-Web is a proxy service just like opera-mini. It is hosted in China and it may block certain regions of the world to access their proxy. UC-web knows your region by the geo-location of the assigned IP of your provider. Consequently it should not work on any device with the operator you are using for WEB access.

Well, if they exclude Ghana from their service it should be the same for all operators in that country. A new SIM card will have the need to setup the GPRS settings for the new operator as well, so there is effort attached to swap and test this.
It could also be the other way round, btw. Not that UC-Web blocks Ghana form their service (in China), but that your local operator will not allow to access the internet (or China) from the GPRS settings that you have in the device.
So first test if normal internet access works (iexplore or any non-proxy service) and then check with UC-Web.
just fixed the problem. it seems uc browser does not with proxy. so i tried settings without proxy and now it works superb.
