I'm creating my first app for android, which basically redirects sms messages.
My problem is every time I try to send a text message using the method I found everywhere on the web my app crashes. Even when I use a try {} catch {} to catch any exceptions, it still crashes every single time.
I use this piece of code :
SmsManager sm = SmsManager.getDefault();
sm.sendTextMessage(destination, null, message, null, null);
I'm (quite obviously) using a N1, with a CyanogenMod rom, but it behaved the same way with the stock rom.
Any clues of why is it crashing ?

Every time I run word mobile it seems to open the last copied text document. (For example, it opens the log of my spb backup). When I then go to Menu>File>New I get the error 'A problem with the document was encountered and it cannot be opened.'
What can I do?

After installing Microsoft Voice command 1.6 just for a test, then deleting it, I couldn't find and use the original voice function in the vox.
Althought all the voice tags are there, if I push the voice button, nothing happened. And If I want to create a new voice tag with a new phone contact, the function doesn't exist at all.
I don't want to hard reset the smartphone, so what can I do for recovering the original voice speed command ? Could someone help please ? Sorry for my english and thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot Rahulgty ! The problem has been solved. I just did a back up and re-installed all that I need ! It took me a long time but now eveything is O.K.
That said, I won't never test Microsoft Voice command once more except if I am sure I want it.

I'm Running a Captivate with Cyanogen Mod 7.1
and I am seeing that the incoming caller ID number has to exactly match the phone number stored in the contact (all digits) for the contact matching to work correctly (for received calls and SMS)
I would like to limit the matching to 8 digits, like many traditional cell phones out there. The problem is that in my country in some situations I need to dial the numbers differently from what the network reports for incoming calls.
With ES File Explorer , I modified the /system/build.prop file , adding the line “ro.phone.min_match=8” but it still does not work.

The file was modified successfully, the change is still there, but it does not work. Maybe I have to do it differently, with the adb tool but I really don´t know how. Or maybe it will not work with Cyanogen??
Could anybody please give me some guidance on how to do this ?

Ok, after some investigation of the source code:
This does not work with Cyanogen Mod. It has a completely different caller id-to contact code, so that method will not work.

Since the Nokia S40 days, I'm used to see caller ID matched to the 8 last digits of my contacts. And this has been a major annoyance on CM7 to me, to the point I'm nearly compiling AOSP to extract the original app...
Did anybody discovered how to solve this issue? any progress?
This is the only annoyance I have with CM7.

Unfortunately there is no solution to this.
My brother and I , we looked at the source code, and after a couple of hours of searching we found the routines. Its easy to modify, but then you need to build everything again from scratch.
I dont know how to do that but my brother does, so he tried to do it for me but it took ages to download all the code, and the donwloads were interrrupted etc etc.
End of the story, he could not do it. It can be modified, but somebody hast to do it ...

Hello, I searched the web for a solution and have found none... Well.. my problem is random closing of programs on my omnia i900.. It happens when, lets say, I have opera opened, and i get sms, so when i minimize program to view message it automatically closes... Or sometimes it happens even with one program opened, like when I listen music with S2P and after some random time it automatically exits.. So, I have wondered if anyone had problem lie that, and if someone knows how to fix it.
PS. Im using sector & khuanchai rom.

I don't have such a problem better try a new ROM
Hi guys Just got a new Oppo Reno Ace Gundam edition, Everything runs smooth and great with couple teaks. From keyboard, and uninstalling bloatware from t his phone. However as Title states, I'm unable to get group messages in the original Message app. When I found this out I tried to download and install different SMS apps such : Gmessage, Facebook SMS, smsGO. This Apps have install with no issues and when setting them up I select the app as for to be the default application for SMS. Once i get A text i get a message explaining that the original Message app will be enable. I tried different ways to get rid of this application using "conventional ways" ( no root or hardcore modification, since im not experience) but with no luck.
Has anybody experienced this, And if you are able to get group messages lemme know!

Hey i got the same problem vut it isnt just with the message app. Also the systhem launcher and assistent app is unable to be changed
You can uninstall these by using adb and install another app. But i dont want to try this with mine.
