slow sms retrieve? - TG01 Themes and Apps

hi all,
has anybody experienced delays in getting sms?
im trying to figure it when the device (tg01) is in sleep mode, would it still recieve sms, mms?
occasionally when i bring it out of sleep mode it comes up with no signal, then after 2 seconds full signal and the orange logo.
is this a graphics glitch or is it actually no signal?
anyone else have this problem or just me?

I've noticed it going through the "registering" graphic a few times when it comes out of sleep mode. Not sure if it really had no signal or not. Haven't tried testing SMS speeds, but I normally receive SMS and calls during sleep no problems. Having said that, there were a few test calls I did while the device was asleep that didn't go though. Not quite sure why.

ive had my wife text me and i dont recieve it til i resume from sleep.
it must have something to do with the radio going into powersave or something. been hunting through the reg trying to find a graphic refresh key but nothing yet.

What are your Power Saving Settings set to, out of interest?

my power saving are as follows
cpu-medium with "limit cpu to save battery" unticked
auto sleep set to 5 minutes
wifi is set to balanced with no restrict sleep mode and no enable during sleep
backlight is set to 1 minute and light on when button pressed is ticked
i currently get 2 days with moderate usage, if i forget to turn wifi off then its dead by the time i get into bed
do you have the same problem or experienced anything similar?

Like I said above, I did a few test calls while the device was asleep that didn't go though, but haven't really experienced the same problems as you.
My power saving settings are:
CPU speed: HIGH
Limit CPU speed for battery: OFF
WIFI: Favour Transmission Rate
Restrict Sleep Mode: OFF
Restrict WIFI during sleep mode: GREYED OUT
Turn off backlight if not used for: 30 SECS
Turn on backlight when button pressed or screen tapped: ON
Adjust brightness automatically: OFF
Brightness: MID-WAY
Sleep Mode if not used for: 5 MINS

Are you on orange?
do you use 2g or 3g?
im not entirely sure how to find out my 2g-3g status as all the icons look the same
my sims an orange 2.5g payg

I'm on Orange 3g payg. I would seriously recommend upgrading to a 3g sim card. Just go into an Orange shop, explain that you're a "pay as you go" customer (don't say "payg") with a 3g phone but only a 2g sim. Say that you want to do a "sim upgrade" to a 3g sim. They should handle that there and then for you. Don't let them tell you you need to call 450, because you don't. They can do it right there in the shop.
You can tell your 2g-3g status by looking at the icon to the left of the signal strength on the top status bar. If it says 3G+ then its connected to the 3g network. If it has a big G then its connected to the 2g (GSM) network.

i only get a g with crossed lines in it like a mesh, tbh the guys in my orange shop are utter smug **** heads so ill prob phone up and have a moan, get some freebies.
just put of interest do you know what the axcon.dll does?

axcon.dll is the library for accessing the accelerometer in the TG01. See here for more details.

its a shame the work stopped where it was, i tried upping the dword of 101 to 256 and i had to hard reset my phone, butr gay, but maybe smaller increments may work to speed up the rotation speed

Not quite sure what you mean. I only briefly skimmed over the blog post, but from what I can tell they successfully got a C# library working as well as a JavaSE (Mysaifu JVM) library, mentioned in the blog post comments.
From what I see, the only thing we still need is an HTC/TG01 wrapper, so that apps designed for the HTC accelerometer will work on the TG01.

yeah, they have set up a driver to catch all the tg01 sensor calls and translate it into the htc type. but theres just source code, no one has seemed to take this further

[UPDATED 2008-10-09]Request for testing band switching of CommMgrPro in Raphael

Hi.
I am solving the issues of CommMgrPro with Raphael. The most important were.
1) CMP didnt change the band correctly (2G <-> Auto <-> 3G)
2) CMP didnt set correctly the speaker volume.
Any help to see if those issues are gone in this version will be wellcome with free licenses
Version V2.2(2008-09-12)
1) There are towers on each country with same cell id. So now the primary key for Cell Mode will be CellID + LAC. CMP will convert your database so make a backup before and will fill the lac information each time it finds a cell with lac equals 0
2) Compatibility with HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro (Fixed Band manager, speaker manager, GPS manager and some GUI changes).
3) New option to repair the database.
4) New page for connections option (In connections/menu/options)
5) Option to disable/enable connections on roaming
6) Option to CMP startup delayed on page Options 3.
7) Option to Show/Hide the main window after start CMP.
8) Clicking on the higher part of the battery bar opens the battery page
9) Clicking on the lower part of the battery bar opens the battery page
10) Hide button is raplaced by calendar button.
11) New Today tab. This dialog lets you see the next events that will happen in the place, including calendar events, "Always on" schedules and other events (time limits, etc)
I´m on it!
I´m curious to see how much battery economy this will bring when switching off 3G? I´ll post my findings. What do you mean by speaker volume (in call?).
thanks
Belive me, it really save your battery if you swith off 3G mode. My battery lifetime increase from 8 to 26h.
Regards
B.

Hi Daniel,
I'm expecting my Touch Pro on Friday, I'll report as soon as I can.
Manni
So far so good on the band...
I´ve tried all day switching between 2G and 3G and it seem to work seamlessly, which comes as a huge plus for me to save on battery when 3G is not needed.
One thing I don´t get.. the HIDE button. CMP is hidden but how to unhide it without having to press the icon to launch it again.
Update: Yes it asks for the PIN but naturally it has to since it´s reestablishing a connection to the Celular provider.
Regarding band switching - it works sometimes because sometimes CM just reset himself (generate errors)
Another thing is that if I'm switching from 3g to 2g is asking me for PIN
When I'm doing it mannualy (GSM to WCMDA switching) system never ask for it.
B.
Hi
In the options page you can set the pin code. In this way CMP will enter automatically the pin when switches the band....

Well, I usually assign a hw button to CommMgrPro. Raphael has few buttons so I assigned long press phone button to CMP. CMP installs a Today plugin and a tray icon to manupulate CMP directly from today screen or bring it to front but you cannot see them with touchflo 3d. Sorry for not saying it before, you can set pic code in options dialog so cmp will enter pin code automatically....

No, system volume. You can control ring tone and ring volume as a action associated to enter/exit in a profile/place (using cell ID)
It was short and 5min test - I'll check everything once again tomorrow and let you know.
Regards
B.
For those who want to check the 3g effect on the battery live. There is a tab on CMP that shows graphically the battery evolution in different scales of time and if you touch two points it tells you the speed, for example, 6 units per hour. Ok, let your device during some hours in 3g and check the drain speed. Do the same test using 2g. As you will see battery live lasts double (or more) using 2g...
Great Commmanager Replacement
Testing for about 15 mins now and so far no problems.
Although the ON/OFF switching for phone with the "no time limit" function is not very responsive. I had to click another icon before i could switch it on again.
Great work on the battery graphs very useful
I will report tomorrow after some intesive usage.

hehe I see to tested it deeply. Turn on phone with time limit was disabled one month ago because the people requested in this way. Anyway I will remove the time limit dialog to avoid confussion....
CommManager replacement is only a little feature. The main one is let CMP (CommMgrPro) to set the state of the device (phone, band, BT, WIFI, speaker, connections, beam, messaging, brightness, ring tone, today theme, call forward, open and close programs, etc) depending on your current location by cell id (home, work, cinema, etc) and weekday/hour. In this way the state of the device will be different on your work&monday&10:00 than on home&sunday&13:00, isnt it?
Dani
Hi
I ve uploaded a new beta (b6). It warns if you want to change the band but you didnt set the pin code on options and a few more things. If you look at the screenshots on first post you will see there is a screen dedicated to the current (different than the battery page)with two lines, one for instant current drain and other for average. In this way is easy to check the current (in mA) needed for your device under different circunstances (wifi, band, gps, etc) and the temperature of the battery (important for the people like me having problems with device not charging if running gps/tomtom in a warm day).
ps: Talking about gps and temperature, finally I bought and A/C mount system so the battery's temperature is always low and no problem charging....
Hi Daniel,
So I received my Touch Pro today, and the first program I installed was CMP
Couple of issues:
- I installed without deactivating Touch Flo 3D, so I got an error message when the program first launched (I guess it couldn't launch the today plugin).
- If I deactivate the Touch Flo 3D, the icons in the plugin are stil QVGA. Same thing if you change the icons of the location (which makes it difficult to select the right one, as they are not for the software where the seem to be on the screen, if you see what I mean)
- Same thing for the fonts on mostpages / menus. Most of them are very small (hard coded for QVGA I guess) which makes them much harder to reads than on a QVGA device. The location line, or the function icons at the bottom of the main screen, are normal size. Everything else is small (for example, "there is a newer version").
- When Touch Flo 3D is activated, there is no directaccess to CMP (lower right globe icon), but I guess that's normal.
Otherwise, everything seems to work fine. I guess most of this is VGA related rather than Touch Pro related, but here you go, I'm coming from CMP on a Tytn II...
Edit: forgot to specify that the speaker setting and the band switching seems to work fine.
Hi
Thank you very much for your comments and help. Fortunately most of those issues are related with the sizzo vga skin so can be changed modifying the file skin.xml. Modify and enhance the vga skizzo skin is one of the pending things to do. Please follow reporting anything you see
Hi Daniel,
Done a bit more testing today, and I found out that there are two connections in CMP (T-mobile PicMessage and T-Mobile Internet), while I have only one connection setup by default (T-mobile).
They are both enabled, none of them is always on, and only the PicMessage is connected.
Is this normal? I'm quite sure I had only one on my Vario III. Which one do I need to get my push email? If I want to get my exchange email as it arrives, do I need to switch one of these to always on? (by the way, my exchange server is setup properly, and it works thanks to MrVanx...).
Hi Manni
CMP shows all the connectios, even hidden connection. Probably in the connections wizard your operator set up the second connection for other pourposes like mms, wap, etc.
If you re using direct push(like me) you dont need to mark any connection as "always on" because activesync will keep the connection alive....

Thanks a lot for the clarification!
I've tested both b5 and b6 versions on orygial HTC rom.
Discovered that :
1. Cannot clear history of battery usage in CURRENT tab - on BATTERY tab this feature works fine
2. Cannot verify database integristy - error message appear
3. Switching between G2 and G3 works smooth - tested VERY intensivly for last 3-4 days.
Small hints
1. there are two graphs on main screen - on the left is graph for battery and on the right for available field. Is nice of you if you can just create the link between battery graph on main screen and CURRENT/BATTERY tab on settings. This is common problem that Touch Pro battery has very short lifetime and I'm very interested in checking which action is draining my battery more than normal - graph is perfect place for this.
5. Last suggestion for booting TP and application starting process. Everytime when I'm performing soft reset or just starting device, I'm waiting to put my PIN as fast as possible to get my TP online, but THEN CommManPro LOGO is showing and grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm must wait next 5sek to tap my PIN.
You know, this is not a problem if you are using your phone for private, and there is no more than 3-4 calls from you sister/girlfriend/mother/lover by day, but I'm using my TP for buisness (and testing everything in the same time) manner so time when I'm available is critical - one missed call (because of 5sek delay) and couple of bucks less in my pocket
If it possible for you to just pospone CommManPro to starting just after TF3D it's nice!
Regards
B.

A few qestions

Hi, I have a few questions regarding Raphael.
1a - I can't get the gps work. So far it worked only once. I use TomTom and usually it is searching for signal and sometimes even for gps device. Therefor I want to try different radio firmware. I had a look at wiki and there are radios with different version number. I'm not sure if those version numbers indicate exactly which radio fw is for my version of radio or if i'm free to try and flesh any Faphael radio.
1b - I have read something about 3g not working in usa or something along the lines. I have europan Raph and live in europe. Can flashing any radio fw interfere somehow with 3g?
2 - Is there a navigation software (TomTom, iGo...) which tends to work better with Raphael?
3 - How can I remove specific sms messages from main manila screen? Or they are by default all the inbox messages?
4 - Is there anyting like underclocking of the cpu to save battery life? Or does this happen automatically? I was thinking that maybe it could save some battery life if each time I turn off or lock my Raphael the cpu would underclok.
5 - SPB shell will replace manila?
6 - What happens when battery reaches 0? Will the device turn off and go to some suspend mode for a few hours or i loose everything? If it will go to suspend mode, how long can it survive like that?
7 - Is there some tool in the default device or some external software which would alow me to create profiles with different sound/ring volumes, vibrations and so on? Currently i have to mess with ring volume if i only want to turn of phone ringing but still have other sounds or I haven't find a way how to have ringing and vibration turned on at the same time.
profiles
8 - If I turn off Raph, is there a way how to turn it on with pad button? It's a bit unconvinient inconvenient to pick up the device from desk and reach for the turn on button at the top, dpad would be much better.
9 - I'm not sure if it's because of threaded messages, but for some reason some or all (not sure) messages I send are in the inbox folder. Is that ok? Can I change this so they are in sent messages?
Many thanks.
Please help with at least point 1
Bumping up the thread the last time

Lots of people have GPS issues and there are tons of threads regarding it. Use the search function to figure it out.

3G works on At&t Branded Raph in US.

Not sure what you mean.

If you are turning the power all the way down, you will not receive calls or be able to quickly use the phone but you should get around 7 days of battery. If you have the device on sleep/suspend with all radios on then you should get about 30 hours. However incoming calls and sms or emails will turn it back on and you will increase drain. Average day to day hours for me is 8 to 12.
5 - SPB shell will replace manila?
SPB Mobile Shell will not replace manilla. You would still be able to use both, if manilla is touchflo3d. I don't know what manilla is.
6 - What happens when battery reaches 0? Will the device turn off and go to some suspend mode for a few hours or i loose everything? If it will go to suspend mode, how long can it survive like that?
Device turns off and you don't lose anything that isn't saved. Sounds like the last device you owned like this was a Palm from 1992 DONT LET THE BATTERY DIE, OH NOES! haha Im just having fnu with you!
7 - Is there some tool in the default device or some external software which would alow me to create profiles with different sound/ring volumes, vibrations and so on? I thought SPB allos this but do a search there is tons of stuff regarding this.

I have not searched for this yet but I want the answer too.

Well in winmo6.1 they group messages, I notice in touchflo3d you only see incoming and not any outbound.

No email in standby...

Hey all,
Recently i've been having some problems with my emails coming through to my handset. I have the settings set to send/receive every 5 minutes.. but for some reason if my screen is turned off (phone on standby) no email comes through but when i turn my screen back on the emails come.
Has anyone else has this problem? I've never had this problem before it started out of no where...
Which software are you using as your email handler?
The original software that came with the phone.. I havn't installed anything on the phone its at its original state...

are you using wifi or data connections? If its wifi do you have wifi enabled during standby?
i am using data...like i said if my screen is turned on theres no problems at all but its just when the screen is off in stand by mode no emails will come through..
This is a huuuuge issue which stems from the dawn of WM6. To be honest, it works sporadically for me. A few hours of no email, then a whole group arrives at a time. Sometimes it wont check by itself all day. Other times it will go 1-2 days without missing a beat. This makes it really hard to determine if what I have been doing fixes it.
Here are links to threads I have dug up:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420513
^This is not a good fix imo, as it forces your data connection to be awake 24/7, killing your battery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437199&page=2
^ I am using the outlook email scheduler. Not sure if its working, or placebo. It still doesnt stick to every 30 mins, sometimes an hour late heh. At least you can have day/night settings and weekend settings. Maybe not a perfect fix, but increases email checking options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332362
^ Many Kaiser users had/have same problem, no solution found.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445434
^Same problem, no fix in the Blackstone forum.
Thanks everyone for the help.
There has to be some kind of fix out there somewhere.. its unreliable
could try out the seven beta app
If I might make a suggestion...
Maybe you should edit the thread title to "No email in standby" as "Email..." doesn't really tell the story, more people will be likely to find it and post a solution
Problem solved with my Touch Pro
I also had this problem but I found the settings to change this. But you do need schaps advanced config 3 (and a regeditor) to make it happen. Now i always receive my email, it checks every 10 minutes, even in standby mode, with my own data connection.
With a registry editor go to:
HKLM - Comm - ConnMgr - Providers - [GUID] - Connections - [Connection Name] - Always On
and change this value from 0 to 1
(You can also change this setting with Schaps' Advanced Config under menu (right softkey) - More Settings - Connections.
Here you can select "Always On" for the type of data-connection that you use to receive your email)
The second thing is using advanced config and change the setting under power management:
- AC resuming from suspend timeout
- Battery resuming from suspend timeout
I have changed both to 60 seconds.
Now my touch pro is notifying me of new email, even in standby mode.
Good luck
^ by forcing the eternal data connection, are you not killing the battery? I think the phone should be able to connect, query, download emails, disconnect at set intervals while in standby. I think it is supposed to, but for some reason it doesn't do it reliably.
The way I have done it is to use SKSchema to watch for a data connection being connected and turn on the screen when this event happens. This wakes th ephone up and is able to download email. Then I use advance config to close inactive data connection after 10 seconds. As the phone is awake the data disconnects fine. As long as your phones screen is set not to power off quickly, mine is a minute it should be fine.
In the last day I got fed up with TF3D again and turned it off, email seems to check every 30 minutes. I'll let it go for a few days to make sure its not placebo effect.
Anybody here having this problem while manila disabled? Perhaps there is some obscure power saving setting running in the background of manila
Well i have no idea how to fix this problem.. i have played with my phone to try figure it out but nothing.
I will probably have to take rvjacobs advice and see if that works.
It looks like quite a few people are having this same problem.
Its weird.. If my phone is on standby no email comes through..but if its on standby and an SMS comes through, the screen doesnt wake but the email also comes through..
not sure whats happening there.
Mine does it with TF3D disabled also. Thats why I have to use SKSchema to turn the screen on when it detects an internet connection. This way, mail comes through fine and it also auto disconnects the data.
I can now confirm that the issue is still there, regardless of TF3D. Damn, I've tried everything, maybe this is a dead end... Maybe wm 6.5 will see a solution
Maybe it helps you to look for/change the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
"ACResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000001
"BattResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000001
If you've got these values in the registry, try to cange them to
"dword:0000001e"
It's the time in seconds the device keeps running (without turning on the display) when it's automaticly woke up from the suspend mode (i.e. to look for mails). And if the value is "1", the time might be to short for picking up your emails.
With the new value you set the time up to 30 seconds.
The key exists since WM2003 and most of roms had a higher value in the past. But in the last time more and more roms come with a value of 1. I think its because the manufacturers want to get a good standby time for the devices...
I hope it works for you and you won't have to wait for WM6.5
Thanks for that deroland! I did manage to find them in the reg but it just says "Value Data 1".. doesnt say anything like "dword:00000001"?
I am new to this whole thing so it may be a stupid mistake im making..

Then your value is like "dword:00000001". This is a hexdecimal dword key.
So your device has one second to look for new mails.
Try to change it to "1e" and I hope it will help you.

The only stupid thing is that there is no open support by the manufacturers of the devices and microsoft for windows mobile. They only want to make their money ignoring the problem we have by the stuff they sell.

This is a setting which can be changed in advanced config, under power. I have mine set to 90 seconds, to no avail. I think this is what is causing it to work sporadically, as opposed to not at all.

HTC s710 Battery Life Conservation

I started this week finally fed up with the fact that I had to charge my battery every 24 hours. It was not working for me and I seriously was getting finally pissed off with this phone that I love so much and defend so much.
I did some research around here and using my best friend Google and found bits and pieces.
I decided to start a post where we can contribute ways to conserve the battery life. The one I have used has so far gone over 6 hours and only used 17% of battery life after calls of about 5 minutes in total. Normally by now my phone would be on 2 bars.
The ultimate thing to be aware of is that the battery is just like our bodies. The more activities, the faster the depletion. By activities I mean applications running. Now often you 'end' an application and yet it is still running chewing your battery behind your back.
Here are some tips:
[*]Light Displays
This is the common tip. Go to 'start/ settings/ power management' and look for 'Backlight time out on battery' and 'Display time out on battery'. The lower you set the time for these, the less battery you use therfore the more you conserve batteries.
I set my backlight time out to 5 seconds and display time out to 1 minutes. After making a call I rarely need the lights on. I adjust this stuff when I use other applications like Mobile Comic Reader (yes, I'm a comic book geek).
[*]Automatic email downloads
Now this is one that I overlooked and was like 'You idiot!'
Just remember, the more active your phone is the more battery it chews up. Email updates has your phone communicate with your mail box to find new emails and download them automatically.
To change this (in case you don't know) click 'start/ messages/ <select email account>/ menu/ settings/ next/ next/ next/ next/ next/' You should be on the screen that has 'automatic send/ receive emails'. The lower the frequency you set, the more battery you save.
I set mine to 'Once a day' and opt it to only download 'Todays messages'.
[*]Ending tasks using task manager
I only find out there is a task manager yesterday and I've had this phone for like a year and a half. How crazy is that?
Click 'start' and go right to the bottom and you will find it. Just like normal desk/ laptop task manager, you can use this to stop programs from running. Often times you end a program and think that it has stopped running but it is actually still running. The biggest culprit on this is 'Windows Media Player'.
Every so often, especially after using an application, make it a habit to close it off in task manager.
Switching off GPRS and/ or EDGE
You will notice a 'E' or 'G' at the top of your phone. This merely tells you that there are GPRS or EDGE networks operational. This is completely different from the 'E' or 'G' in the top right hand corner where your signal strength metre is.
If there is a 'E' or 'G' there, it means that your EDGE or GPRS is still connected and running. A running program means battery is being chewed.
At the top of your screen you'll see the first highlighted section containing 'Wi-fi; the time; your network service provider'. Clicking on this takes you to your Comm Manager with 8 rectangles. On the right hand column third row is an icon that looks like a PDA or touch screen with two arrows in different directions. Click this application to turn it off (give it a cross).
When you go back to your home screen, the 'E' or 'G' in the top right hand corner (not to be confused with the ones on the top middle) will be replaced with an icon I can only describe as a key that opens a tin of sardines. This means your EDGE or GPRS is turned off and not active.
Please remember to switch this back on when you want to send mms and go onto the internet using GPRS and stuff. Alternatively there is an option to automatically turn off GPRS if it is idle for a specified amount of time. for that you need any registry editor,
Goto HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Settings\Planner
Now change CacheTime to say 120 to turn of GPRS after its idle for 2 mins.
And Change SuspendResume from ~GPRS to GPRS_bye_if_device_off
That's the tips that I have found have made me a happy s710 user. I don't know if there are battery conservation programs for the s710 - I searched in vein - but in the end it just came down to efficient use of energy.
If there are any further suggestions, I invite all to drop their personal ideas that work.
God speed.

Hey. Nice.
I'll look for that. I was wondering if there was such a function.

Enabling Cell Info Display drains the battery.

WiFi Seriously draining batery!

First and foremost let me say that I love this phone. But I am having an issue with serious battery drain that's occurring when I have WiFi on. I need to use WiFi Calling in my house, and it worked flawlessly on my previous mytouch 4g, running under the same conditions. In fact, my wife now has that phone and it works great, we actually manage to save a ton of battery with wifi calling turned on.
So when I got the Sensation I hoped for more of the same, great battery life when at home due to wifi calling. However, that is not the case, when I have wifi on, with or without wifi calling enabled, my battery drains at a rate of about +-10% an hour! And thats with out even touching it! Without wifi on, 2-4% per hour battery drain.
Speeds when I do things over wifi are blazing fast, and the signal is full bars, so I know the phone is not searching for the wifi. With wifi, and minimal use, I max out at 5-6 hours! Not sure what to do, as not using wifi is really not an option.
One other thing, coming from the mytouch 4g, a highly underrated phone imo, I do see some lag that wasnt present in the "lesser" phone. In particular, the USA Today app, for example, on the Mytouch scrolling was smooth as butter, not so much on the sensation, I also see it in the Android market when I look at my apps, same app list on both phones, mytouch scroll is smooth as can be, Sensation is very jittery.
Maybe someone has some thoughts, or is having similar issues, cause I am so jealous of all the "OMG my battery lasted 6 months" posts!
Thanks in advance!
Because the phone comes stock with the WiFi sleep policy set to never. In my opinion that's a stupid decision on HTC's part. Easy fix though. Go into Wireless settings and clock on WiFi settings. Then click the menu key and click advanced. You will see the WiFi sleep policy menu. Just change it to "Never When Plugged in" or after 15 minutes. If you change it to Never when plugged in then the WiFi will go into sleep mode when ever you turn your display off.
Ive had it set to the 15 minute setting, but I thought that the wifi calling would block wifi from sleeping. Once when looking at the battery screen, I zoomed either on wifi or wifi calling, and it said something to that effect.

Sorry, I forgot you said you use WiFI calling. That might have something to do with it. I always keep mine of so it doesn't matter if my WiFi sleeps right away.
Wifi can't sleep!
I don't know if i should start a new thread but this was the closest to my problem I could find.
Basically I'm having the same WiFi battery drain issues, and I tried to do the usual Wifi Sleep 'after 15 mins' or 'Never When Plugged in' options in the advanced menu but it always reverts to just 'Never' after a few minutes.
On my power graph it shows that I have had continuous wifi on despite changing the settings. So its not just the option returning to default when i open the menu either.
I'm really confused here, is there something forcing my wifi to be on all the time?
Any help is much appreciated.
Make sure wi-fi best performance is not checked. That will drain battery faster also
