You can try:
DriodMail
K9 Mail
But I find the Default email app is the best.
Hope those help.

Maas
I think RoadSync is also free on Android. Although it was built for Symbian I find it excellent.
Good luck!
Our Exchange setup was just changed to support the enhanced security features and they just forced the "remote wipe" capability.
So everybody who was used to the stock client is shut out!
Google issued a patch for the same BUT to ENTERPRISE customers only!

What the hell was that about.
The stock android mail client was working for me a lot of the people and now it just gives some error about unable to connect.
Now if we need our corporate email we have to either buy the Commercial product:
TouchDown Email : $20
MoxiMail : $20
Enhanced Email : $10
OR compromise with the free clients which just does mail.
K-9 Mail works for most of the Motorola Droid phones.
I have a LG GT540 and it stopped after a day.
MailDroid works better on LG GT540 android phone. I have a rooted android 2.2 on GT540.
All the free mail clients are the basic exchange mail clients which can help you to read email and reply to email.
It does not have GAL (corporate addressbook Lookup). So you need to know the email address of the person to send email to.
Workaround: Corporate AddressBook
Looks up corporate addressbook and has search function.
After a few weeks use most of them switched to MailDroid which seems to be more stable.
Any of the genius out there who have been working on the ROM have been able to get the patch in so that the stock email client can work as it is supposed to work?
That was the core function most users use their phone for and now it does not work unless you pay up and buy a commercial product.
Help please

Hello,
How you manage your emails ?
Do you use Microsoft Exchange ? If yes which hosted exchange company did you choose ?
I am currently using fastmail (http://wwwfastmail.fm) and I wonder if I could benefit of moving to exchange. One of the drawback of my solution is that my contacts are sync with fastmail, which is quite annoying. So I hope to have your feedback about your email solution.
Chris
I use Sherweb. They have great mailbox sizes and good customer support all at a fairly reasonable price. Also running Exchange 2007 which is very nice.
If you do end up signing up with them PM me first so you can use my referral code.

Sherweb seems really nice, do you have a private exchange mailbox account ? or is it the one of your company which is located a Sherweb ?
Do they provide also an email address with a domain ? can I use an email adresse like gmail which would point to exchange ? or should I buy a email address somewhere ?
Chris
Sorry for cross post, this is a more relevant section imo.
Hi guys
i'm thinking of throwing Android on my HD2 but before I do, I need to know if I can support a couple of things?
Can I support two exchange email accounts?
Will it pull sync ALL info including pictures of people from the server?
Are there any particular fields that are not supported, like the "Notes"?
Is there a Microsoft OneNote client?
I'm guessing there is no MS Zune client at the moment either? Does anyone know if there are any plans?
To support the above, do I need a specific version of Android?
Thanks!!!!

EVO 4G Exchange server
I have this work phone that I want to root but I don't want to mess up the ssl encryption. Will this happen if I root my phone. I don't want to go back to the IT Dept. to get it. The encryption is on my phone, but I can't see it. How do I save the encryption.
Hello,
I just purchased the G2X with the understanding that it supports exchange corporate email. When I try to setup the email, I get the error "this server requires security features your phone does not support". I have tried checking both of the security certificate boxes and confirmed that I am entering the right address.
Does the phone support Exchange? My company uses Exchange 2007.
Thanks for your help,
Lance
The built in mail client is pretty bad for exchange tbh. My particular issue was that it could not let me see the contents of most of my folders. I've started using touchdown for exchange, it has a free 30 day trial and is much better.
I saw options for exchange 2007 when installing it so hopefully it supports your company's security policy. It does and auto detect of server config on initial setup.

Exchange works fine for me here. You might want to check with your IT department. If there is anything wrong with the way they setup OWA or what ever it is called to access exchange over the web, then you might have issues.
Yup, Exchange works fine for me. It uses DAV over OWA instead of true ActiveSync, but only WinMo supports REAL ActiveSync anyway. In practice you really can't tell the difference.
I also use touchdown for exchange. It's pretty nice and also you get 90 day trail if you download from amazon app store.

Exchange 2007 works here
We use hosted exchange 2007 at our company and the stock app works for me as well. +1 for talking to your IT department or trying Touchdown.
They'll need to enable support for non-provisionable devices on the Exchange server for the ActiveSync policy assigned to you. Or you can go with Touchdown as suggested as Touchdown has a better ActiveSync implementation than the stock client.
Our tabs built-in email app is perfect for me. Only problem i have is that I cant get my corporate mail to work. Gmail and Ymail works fine. Our office uses MS Exchange but we can only access through OWA (even my PC Outlook is configured to go through OWA).
I've been using Seven Mail for quite some time now but recently its not updating my emails well.
Any help would be appreciated.
Btw. Tried Touchdown, K9, Kaiten, Moxier, Maildroid but did not like them.

I use the native email apk for corporate exchange email and it works fine. I prefer it over touchdown.
In my case, I entered the email address and password for my account, selected exchange, then I had to change the user name to my corporate domain\userid. I also changed the server name to owa.company.com. I had to select accept all SSL certificates.
Our exchange service requires some security controls on the device so you have to set a screen lock pin or password.
Same experience for me as for grogzero.
Technically speaking, as long as you can access OWA and your company is not using Exchange 2010, the email client will work. Specifically, the client uses ActiveSync (technology used by Microsoft) and this protocol works over OWA. This emans that as long as OWA works, your tab default client should work as well.
In Exchange 2010, mobile access must be enabled on top of OWA to allow ActiveSync to work. Otherwise, you should email your support and ask them about it.
Can you give us more specifics on the specific situation you have to deal with?
C.
Same issue
I am having the same issue.
My company uses exchange 2007 with SSL and has some security features requirements also. (pin requirement for example) The settings I have set up fine on my iPad but I really want to use the SGT instead of the iPad.
I am currently using TD and it has worked but I love the split screen on the native email app.
Any suggestions?
the solution to that issue is upgrade to 2.3.3, actually this works for me.
call your internet provider and ask for pop3 port. For ex mine is 26 instead of default 25

So, android exchange sync is working fine, but I saw K9 and really wanted to try it, only to find out K9 doesn't support Exchange 2010.
Anyone know email clients that work with OWA exchange 2010?
Touchdown for Exchange and Enhanced Email come to mind.
Thanks, I'll look. Glad I can trial touchdown.
I guess k9 is the best free alternative out there... I'm guessing no other free apps support owa exchange 2010.
There's also maildroid, free version is ad based.

There's actually the best email app for Android, Andromail, but it's not listed on the market, as the name is taken by some lame competitor. Not sure which app was the first to take the name.
Take a look here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=214298&st=3660#entry9752274 (sorry, you'll need to use Google translate).
Download is here: http://4pda.ru/forum/dl/post/1186449/AndroMail_0.4.5.4.5.apk
It says he uses DavMail to integrate with exchange. This is why K9 stopped working with Exchange, after exchange 2010.
I'll take a look though. Hopefully the English translated app is just as good as russian.
Moxier Mail...has free trial also.
