the only decent one i have found is football monitor, covers a majority of the worlds football leagues, and can be configured easily to get update from clubs you want.

I think this tool is much better than freeware. Also for Premier League

There's a good one in the marketplace called Premier League 2010 - really nice interface and live scores. [link]
Only 10 days to go! hehe
i looked at the marketplace one but i would like summet along the lines of the amazin world cup apps that were around not so long ago
Do you mean the panoramic interface world cup app by the ex microsoft guy? That was just a prototype so I doubt there'll be an EPL one the same (and it didn't do live scores).
It's funny - I could appreciate how clever that one was but after a bit of use I found the interface had a bit too much motion - things flying about the screen when I just wanted to see the info. Parallax scrolling is great if you're playing games on an amiga but I'm not sure about it for apps.
this one also was very good had live updates and all fixtures, hopfully the dev will make a new on, he dos pocket F1 and Pocket moto gp and these are wicked

Yeah that was a good one. I think xda members did all the translations.
Now if we can only get one that does videos, and head to head stats, and post-match analysis, ...and gets you free tickets to the games, and lets you see through the eyes of a player of your choice during the game, and and
There is a great app just released on Freewarepocketpc.net. The dev also produced a similar app for the World Cup. Enjoy.

No worries - it's really good isn't it I love how you can so easily view everything (news, fixtures etc.) just your team, and the zooming in on stadiums is clever. Wish there were more apps that looked that cool on an HD2.

Yes, anyone can google, and should google before asking a question that has been answered multiple times.
I personally have seen 3 threads related to Topaz games, but here's another one. Just what we needed.
You know that little anouncement at the top of this forum that says "READ BEFORE POSTING"????
The very first item states;
"Check if your question has been asked before
Some questions just keep popping up over and over. Please use the 'search function' in the menu above each and every page in the forum. Try entering a few keywords to see if your question has been asked before. If it has, please read the topics and see if you can figure it our from there. You can also search inside a topic if it has too many comments by using the search function (CTRL+F) in your browser. If you don't find the answer, please post a comment to the relevant thread instead of starting a new one."
So, yes it really was a tip.
A simple search
...still think you better posted a link to the existing thread and making him aware of the existance of that thread, rather than to let him google wich gives the guy 'bout 2.970.000 hits (and is'nt going to help him)

Sorry, Its all good.
Can anyone recommend an equivalent app that works for the xoom.
My 3 year old son loves star walk on my iphone, mainly the planets being able to get nice detailed image. The 3D srolling planet and being able to pinch zoom. He's a bright lad and sussed the app out so would love something to put on my xoom to let him play with.
I know there is another app that apple featured on their ipad commercial but haven't seen it, nor can I remember its name to search for android equivilant.
If there is an app that springs to mind but not avalible for honeycomb i've got a dell streak to try it out on and wait for the HC update.

The closest I have found is Star Chart. Still not as good as Star Walk though. But coming along nicely.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.escapistgames.starchart
Thanks for the recommendation, tried the app but felt let down, very unpolished and not enough images of the planets for my sons liking.
Anyone else recommend anything?

Try Google Sky Map

I'll by it for the reason alone that there is a developer actively interacting with their (potential) consumer base. All too often developers ignore potential markets and opportunities to attract new customers.

So this answer was posted a year ago. Really there is nothing even close to Star Walk for androids out there. Is there a chance you guys are working on this?

my vote as well! We need this app for android!
another +1 here!
There is a very good "SkySafari" app.
I wrote a request to VITO Technology for an Android version of their Star Walk, but no reply.
Star Chart is something similar but Star Walks is totally complete. I wonder how is it possible that some apps still not find place in the Android world.
Please.... People need this app "star walker" on their Android phones.
So... I would add my vote to the others and give this thread a refresh.

I've finally pulled myself together and thrashed out my first ever android game!
I know there are many seasoned veterans on this forum with biblical knowledge of the platform, but being completely new to Java and object oriented programming it was a massive leap for me!
Sorry, but I just wanted to share!
Oh, did I mention it is free?
Paul
If you get 5 mins please check out Livestock vs The Undead Lite on the market - all comments (preferably constructive) are welcome as I shall be updating regularly.

You use the acc sensor to pan the view a bit.
- this looks nice but sadly it's a bit clunky with the movement.
- this makes the game look clunky if you have the phone loosely in your hand (constant movement)
I always love dev's that add a no-sound mode to the first screen (at school/work)
Once placed we can't move/upgrade/fix defences or animals.
You can't see the 'health' (healthy zombies ) of a zombie.
- so if it get's close it's hard to guess if you need more (last-minute) defence or it will die in 2 sec's anyway.
Maybe an option to get more details about the defences/animals. fe. it's health, rof, damage, costs.
The game looks nice and it's always easy to find things that could be better if you're not the one who created it
If this is your first app than good job!

The accelerometer movement will be removed in the next release. I was originally going to have more columns off screen - but it ended up making me feed seasick! I don't think it added much to the game anyway.

Not at present - you can only replace when an existing animal/etc gets chomped. I have decided to change it around a bit. It should make an interesting dynamic for the game.

Google today finally revealed a gaming element for Google+, the social network the company launched at the end of June
nooooooooo
no no, what next, those stupid "what twilight character are you?" quizzes?
So many people are happy about this.
However i'm not.
I think they should do the following.
Either not allow people to share there score in the streams and only show it once you play the game. Or allow the circles to active game post in that stream or redirect them to a specific game related stream.
I do not give a crap what the hight score was of my friend playing jewel.
That's exactly what they're doing, there's a seperate stream for games. All your friends highscores etc appear in that stream. Your normal stream will be the same, for sharing information, not game stuff.
NOO
Its like facebook and Myspace
Do you think we'll be able to keep our scores between android mobile and Google plus to play on any screen ?

It's over 20 million now brah from its launch. The growth is unstoppable.
The only problem for me : out of those 20millions, I found only 2 of my friends, Computer specialists, like me.
The audience is not so wide and mainly composed of geeks for the moment .
I don't think Google will let it turn into Facebook with the stupid quizzes.
What?! NO! >.< Not good news... Unless of course, the games are well designed with developers not greedy for money? That'd be a nice change.
So far it looks like they are handling this better than Facebook has by hiding all the spam in a different stream. Honestly I don't know why the games need to do that at all though, but that's just me.
