Hi everyone!
I bought me the T-Mobile MDA Compact V, including WM 6.5 and the HTC Sense Software.
It ist a bit uncomfortable to use because my old TyTn2 is easier to handle. My Question to all Users: Can i change this Sense version to a better one?
the startpage always shows the softkeys "contact and internet" and i can't change them! everytime i touch the sceen at the lower area the phone tries to connect the internet.... that sucks!!!
please help me further!
Thank ya a lot
linebacker
Head over to the ROMS section and take your pick. Each to their own really. I personally use Dutty's HG 7.2 on my Compacy V but you may find something else that pleases you dependent on speed/apps/eyecandy etc
OK
Holy grail.... looks fine, but for a "non" english speakin person ther is a load of threads wher i got cought like in a spiders net... hm...very complicated...
thank you so far!!
Change softkey's on the fly with;
http://www.dotfred.net/SA/FdcSoft%20SoftkeyAppletEx.cab
Have fun,
Senax
great idea,
thank you a lot!!!
but when its installed, where do i find it....??
i think im not able to look for.... *grrrrr
ok....
some minutes later, i found it....
but my Home - page shows always "kontakte" and "internet"
...
grr
I created a link for it;
Note: The soft keys applet will not affect the soft keys when TouchFLO cq Manilla is running
Open note(pad).exe and type
29#\Windows\SoftKeyAppletEx.cpl
save as
Set as 'all files (*.*)' not as 'txt (*.txt)'
SoftKeys.LNK
(capitals are not necessary, it's just for clarity). Then save it to your \Windows\Start Menu\PowerToys folder
More *.lnk information;

More tested applications which work on Rhodium/Topaz;

Have fun,
Senax
nope...
there is no Folder \Windows\Start Menu\PowerToys
only \Windows\StartMenü\

It is a big question, but all your questions are answered in this huge forum already, so you have to go and do some reading and searching for yourself and you will find all your answers, plus more and you will learn a lot. You will see what people said about 6.1 and you will see waht people said about BT just by reading other threads.
Dude, theres official BT fix to download from the HTC: (Bluetooth Hot Fix (for HTC TyTN II) )

When it comes to "what You can do with You device" the limit is the limit of Your imagination. The people at xda-developer is doing magic, but please use the wiki's and the search function like:

From this wiki You select the device of Your interest (Kaiser) http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Now You have the world in front of You: Reviews, Discussions, Hacks and tweaks, ROM upgarding etc.

1. the vibrate function can provide you hours of enjoyment, with proper placement (external or internal, your choice)
2. install as many programs as possible, filling up both main memory and storage card, using them once or twice then never use them again. after flashing a new rom, install a new assortment of software you probably don't need.
3. re-encode your favourite pr0n to ppc scaling and impress your friends with today's pocket pr0n.
4. port over wm5 from the wizard (blinding speeds, you won't be sorry)
5. read ALL the stickies in Kaiser upgrading area of forum (this isn't near as fun as the other suggestions, but you'll be able to answer your own questions, and be comfortable in the knowledge that you can hack your phone "without any help")
1 and 3 make a nice combo too!
Yes there is a WM6.1 upgrade, i am using Shaps at the moment and it seems to work fine for me.
WM6.1 doesnt give you a huge amount new, Shaps 6.1 rom for me has been stable and quick, i dont tend to install much on my phones though other than the included stuff. I do a few bits and install TomTom. 6.1 has threaded sms which is nice but has some annoying little issues, like i cant seem to find a way to forward sms messages any more. bit annoying.
Flicking through some of the other forums people seemed to be muttering about not being able to sync there 6.1 phones with ex2003, i use ex2007 though so i cant comment, mine works fine.
Havent noticed any bad sound quality over bluetooth. Be more specific though, do you mean stereo bluetooth or just normal.
I use the htc home plugin looks nice and works well.
Hope i have helped.
Rob
ps. Remember before you rush out and start flashing roms, read the wiki and things. You have to do stuff like hard spl and things first.
If i were you i would do it in this order.
1. hard spl
2. sim unlock (if needed)
3. wm 6.1 rom
4. radio rom

You are one sick and twisted individual and I like it.
Start with the beginning of the internet at www.www.com and read through the entire thing.
I like to turn on wifi, 3g, gps, and bluetooth and use my kaiser to keep my coffee warm.
This is my first post, so please be gentle.
I only recently got my Kaiser (two weeks), and I've been toying with different ROMs. I tried QMobile 1.2, and it seemed alright, but I keep seeing Youtube videos about the "Cube", and it looks like it'd be really handy to have since I don't like pulling out my stylus. It seemed like QMobile 1.2 had "TouchFlo", but I can't seem to find the same "cube" navigation demonstrated in the videos.
I've spent 3-4 days doing nothing but reading the Wiki and forums, as I didn't want to make another duplication of a question asked dozens of times. I've got a notebook with 5 pages of acronyms and numbers, already
So - from what I can gather, Dutty's ROMs seem to be the best I can find that have this Cube thing, as well as what seems to be extensive customization.
My Kaiser is HardSPL'd and I've downloaded and installed QMobile 1.2, so I'm relatively familiar with the process.
This (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361544) thread seems to be about the "Duttys DualTouch v4 RTM Release", which appears to be WM6.0 and what I want. After 30 searches across the Forum and Wiki all I find is discussion about a 6.1 version being available, but I'm not really interested in that until it's officially released (with documentation).
My verbose background aside, I can't seem to find a download link for this release. When I go to the Dutty's lives-in-eu site, I get a server-not-found error. A few pages back in the thread there is another link, but it was password protected.
If for whatever reason Dutty's site has been removed, can anyone else recommend a ROM that has lots of space, the "cube" (or similar finger navigation), slide to unlock and AT&T Tilt stuff (like a compatible radio and Connection Settings)?
Help?
I should also mention that I really appreciated the "Acronyms" sections of the Wiki and FAQ. My first reading of the board was nearly impossible with the number of acronyms. Perhaps someone could add something explaining the 'Cube' ? It seems like a very big feature for the Tilt / Touch, but I can't find a good explanation of what TouchFlo / FTouchFlo / Cube etc., really are, where they came from, etc.
Dutty's new ROM is not available yet. Friday is what he is saying. I use his v4 and it works great other than the damn weather plugin that I finally got P1tater to help me out with. Very fast, and stable.
Here is an alternate link for the V4
http://www.4shared.com/file/36654074/65521948/Duttys_Dualtouch_v4_RTM.html?dirPwdVerified=1f45688
This is the best cube.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358102
Here we go.
Ftouchflo enables you to drag you finger across the screen for scrolling.
FtouchfloConfig is the app to allow you to access the cube. Once enabled you can "usually" drag you finger from bottom to top of your screen to launch the cube. If you can't get it try to reduce the duration from 100 to 300.
Dutty V4 is a very good WM6 rom. It is his current stable release. He is working on 6.1, and a lot of peeps on here are chomping at the bit for it.
Unfortunatley his download section is down (hence the page not found error on the site).
I'd recommend a Schaps or Alex rom at the moment, if you can't get dutties.
Alex has a Wiki page that explains wha is in each. There are 7 versions, including a cube one.
My advice to you is keep reading posts, and it will all start to make sense.
You can install anything you want (eg SU2U), try searching for the cabs or ask if you are really stuck or don't know what summat is called. you can use google, see the stcky on the ofther kaser post.
To be honest it is all down to personal prefs. All the chefs here are very good at what they do... Schaps, Dutty, Alex et al. It doesn't cost anything to flash a new ROM everyday (unless you muck it up ) so try all of the ROMS here and see which one suits your prefs best.
I think the server Dutty is using is down right now, and that's why you are unable to download DualTouch V4. Check the site: http://duttythroy.lives-in.eu/cms/ every now and then, and if it comes back up, there will be a folder called DualTouch where you will be able to download the ROM.
For now, its possible to get the cube on the Q-Mobile ROM. Visit this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350011 and download the files. I believe this cube runs quite well. It has a different skin than the original cube, but poorlyduck has also included files to revert back to the original skin. Just read the thread and I'm sure you will figure it out...
Hope that helps...
Wow you guys all nailed it.
Thank you Dave for the explanation, I added it to my notebook. Is FTouchFlo something that HTC made for the Kaiser or did someone port it over? If so, whom? I'd like to see what else they did, maybe donate.
Thank you alltheway for that link, it looks like you've got a lot of stuff shared out there. I just finished the Dutty v4, so I'll be trying it...
And zakhir I downloaded that cube, the Vista one. Finally have one that works, woohoo! Thanks. One question though - is there anyway to make s2u2 work with the Cube? When I 'slide to unlock' left to right, I end up opening the cube and spinning it.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer to that one with Google: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=360813

DCS v1.5
Give DCS a try!
I found its really fast and has essential progs.
I believe it is comparable to Dutty Roms.
You must of course flash a new radio

You can add s2u2 to the exceptions settings of ftouchflo... then you wont activate the cube when trying to unlock the phone from s2u2

Hello. I've been working all week with my Apache xv6700 and learned to upgrade to wm6.1 with ppckitchen.org "cooking".
I've tried and tried to get a HTC type interface setup with touchflow, cube, ect. I just tried a maillia2d that locked up my system required a flash again.
Anyways, my point is there is a tremendous amount of great info here and incredible techie in detail...often to techie for a mild tech like me.
Who can recommend a install suite of HTC touchflow type products they know will work with the Apache. What of the 101 links around the best sites is a good solution. Often I find a good option but it's not very complete with functionality.
Just give me your great full setup that best emulates a 2d or 3d setup. I do understand the ROM can bearly hold the wm6.1 and a few items...so I am fine with CAB options. I may be a done with "cooking" since I've spent so much time!
Thanks for any constructive comments. No flames or "my question is dumb" comments please!
Thanks.

install the touchflo cube suite by xplode (in ppckitchen.org buildos) and that will give you ftouchflo and the htc cube.
....
i have Touch2d installed on my Xv6700 and it runs fine, just takes up a hella lot of space on the rom but i also have a crap load of ProgZ installed
Ok, apologies for starting a new thread on what's probably been done a hundred times. But I notice info is scattered around literally 1000's of pages so I thought I' just start a simple one here to a pretty simple question.
I'm getting a stock Orange e650 and want to put Manilla2D on it, or just WM6.1.
I've read up on the SPL etc, and Dr. Martin Gonzo's WM 6.1 zip seems pretty idiot proof with very clear instructions. I'm pretty confident about flashing it.
However, I've not found a simple guide to Manilla2D. Does Manilla2D sit on top of 6.1? ie, I install WM6.1, and then the cab files for M2D?
The .zip I have has various .cab files which I imagine are executed on the device. But when and how?
I basically need a solid guide to installing a stable Manilla2D build.
I'm happy take pictures and write up a guide as I do it if one doesn't exist. A sort of 'noob's' guide from a 'noob's' perspective.
Thanks
Because there is no simple way to get manilla 2d to work on a smartphone^^ Try allshadow.com forums, there is a thread with guides!

lol The more I read, the more I think I'll just put 6.1 on.
Thanks
I don't know if manilla runs on 6.0, but 6.1 is a definite improvement over 6.0!
the first treath is now renewed
with it its now very easy to get manila working but at least with neo and wm6.1 rom the upper symbols(like mute signal strange etc) are white boxes.(maybe another 96dpi hack will solve it runs smoothly on my vox except landscape even with installed patch it wont work.
Anyone interested in making a 6.1 ROM with Manilla2D already installed? Is it by any means possible?
DID DO
But the 96 dpi hack eems to make things impossible to use on a daily basis
try the random audio manager that keeps loading
Having recently purchased an HTC Diamond2 and having tried "ChangeScreen", GSen", I've noticed my D2 isn't capable of rotating TouchFlo's 'Opening Screens' (like, "Programs" or "Contacts") and I haven't - even - been able to rotate my "Album" pictures.
As I've seen on LG Aren's (no publicity intended!) all icons rotates (beautifully, I thought) whenever the phone itself was rotated.
Is there a way to get it done in this version of TouchFlo?
Hope I haven't posted wrongly.
Thank you very much for your time and Congratulations on a great site which has earned deserved fame... worldwide!
Greetings from Portugal,
O. C.
To have TF3D rotating correct, you need another ROM.
Check out the cooked ROM's for Topaz. There are first ROM's out that support TF3D rotating and applications rotating.

You don't need another rom, it's a simply registry tweak which has already been posted on this forum. Use the search function!

The tweaks were not working on my TD2, that's why I proposed a new ROM. Seems depending on TF3D version the registry tweak is working or not.

It's works, but not correctly. I suppose the ROM will work better.
Dear Friends:
First of all, thank you very much for your kind attention and help!
Thanks to you, I've started looking around "Cooked" ROMs and I even discovered a program called TF3D2 Tweak...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502102
... which I really recommend as it allows most of the functions I was looking for.
I sincerely recognise all the great effort, skill and talent which are required to create all these magnificent 'pieces' of software developers kindly share with us. And I am truly thankful for that!
I have been a fan of this site and its "geniuses" long before I was able to purchase my own HTC.
Now, that I've got it (a TD2), I will be visiting you often.
Thank you all!
Best Regards,
O.C.
