All instant messengers disconnect in standby - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
i tried ICQ, MSN, Nimbuzz, and all are disconnected when i do not use the phone for some minutes. But why? The data connection (3G, it's not the wifi problem!) is still alive when i turn on the screen, but the messengers must reconnect?
Thx in advance...

Dataconnection priority

hey, I have a problem with my HTC TP.
it always prefers the HSDPA link when connecting with a web based application souch as opera or MSN.
Even if I have it connected to a Wi-Fi it still boots up the HSDPA and goes online using that link.
I'm new to WM, so this is a bit vague, but I had the same problem, but I fixed it at some point last week...
There is a setting, somwhere (I told you it was a bit vague!), that tells programs to use WiFi as the default connection. I can't for the life of me remember where, and I've flashed roms since, but I'm sure it was a windows setting in "settings > Connections".
Sorry I couldn't be any more help, but at least you know there is a fix, somwhere...!
Hehe, thanks, I've tried looking for this feature for hours, becouse I can't for the love of whoever understand why there wouldn't be an option for it
there isn't one because it shouldn't need it. As long as your Wi-Fi is set to Internet, and Not work, it should always use that as long as it is connected.
Just having Wi-Fi turned on doesn't cut it.
There are certain applications that will always use the cellular network, like pushmail, but in general, all apps will use whichever internet connection is available. and if Wi-Fi isn;t connected, it will automatically connect to GPRS/3G.
Wellt hats the problem, I connected it t my home Wi-Fi set it as internet connection and the problem remains. I have redone the settings several times and it still prefers the HSDPA connection.
if I turn of all other alternatives to connect to the web, like removing APN settings for GPRS and HSDPA it uses the Wi-Fi, but as long as there is another Access link to the net the Wi-Fi isn't used
I have the same problem with Hotmail syncing (not defaulting to Wi-Fi), but not with Opera. I do have to change the connection settings though first from the T-Mobile Internet (and their magic transparent proxy) before Opera can work over Wi-Fi, but I thought the connection settings were just for HSDPA/GPRS connections. I'm finding this increasingly frustrating that I need to reconfigure everything depending where I am.
BTW, to get Hotmail to use Wi-Fi I have to go to the Comm Manager and turn off "Phone", turning off "Data Connection" doesn't work, because it craftily turns it back on, seconds later!

Turning off automatic internet connection

I would like to make my Touch Pro not connect to 3G/Edge internet automatically whenever I momentarily lose my WiFi connection. The reason is, when Opera goes fullscreen, the taskbar is not visible anymore, so I'm not aware that surfing costs me real money.
Is there a way to do it? Please help.
You could use modaco nodata, it turns off data connections alltogether. It shouldn't turn off wifi if I'm correct, but I never use wifi.
settings->connections->connections->advanced->select network
choose my homenetwork in the dropdown rather then my isp or
what ever it's called with your setup

HD2 Network Management

to whom it may concern, this thread is not being repeated..
what i would like to have to have on my HD2 is the capability of some application/programs (weather, facebook, opera...) to automatically turn on wifi, update/use/download..., then turn wifi off instead of using 3G connection for that..
maybe the possibility to add WIFI option under network management
(comm manager/menu/connections/advanced/select networks/programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using:.. (WIFI)
if someone could help me out via a program or a setting.. would be much appreciated.. thx

Wi-fi connection in the connections tab

Hi, I am using a Spectec wifi card to receive mails and navigate when i'm at home, and a data gprs connection outside. Since the wi-fi connection does't appear on the connections tab, is there a simple way to switch between them?
What i am doing now, is change the "work network" (which is configured for gprs) to "my isp", which is not configured at all, get a few connection error messages, and then the phone discoveres the wifi and connects to internet. But it's rather complicated and not ellegant at all.

WiFi Connectivity

Hi
If I turn my phone's Bluetooth OFF, then the watch connects via WiFi (as I would expect, having setup the networks on the watch). Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer any data via this WiFi connection??? I have tried the following [email protected]
- S-Voice --> does not respond
- Gear Browser --> responds with 'no internet connection'
- Xenozu You Tube app - -> 'No Internet Connection'
The WiFi Network is fine, tried it at work and at home with same result.
Anyone else managing internet connectivity over WiFi with the watch in Stand-Alone mode?
Nigel
No WiFi Connectivity on my watch
Hi
Can I assume that no one else has this issue (No WiFi connectivity On watch)
On mine even though WiFi is showing as 'Connected' it is not possible to send/receive data over wifi (bluetooth turned off).
If so I shall return my watch as its obviously got a fault.
Nigel
