Hello everybody!
Got a new Dopod branded device and it has below bootlooderSAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON O ( havent seen on the forum someone reporting an "O" i think this is the first one)
HBOOT-1.53.02222 (SAPP40000)
RADIO--3.22.22.28
MAY 27 2009,23.03.13
I would like to get rid of OMS by replacing it one of the cooked or original ROMs available (well anything is much better than the crappy OMS i believe)
is there anyone out there has already done it for above device.. if you could send me the procedures will be very much appreciated ..

Do you have fastboot access?

I think it is a Chinese OS made for China Mobile only. It looks like it runs a 32A radio yet the SPL is 32B. It would be risky to flash. Have you got fastboot access?

I m reading the screen after having pressed power+back combination as below:
FASTBOOT
VOL DOWN HBOOT MODE
SEND RESET DEVICE
ACTION RESTART TO HBOOT
MENU POWER DOWN
and after having pressed volume down button i see below
HBOOT
BACK FASTBOOT MODE
SEND SIMLOCK
... SD CHECKING....
LOADING..SAPPDIAG.ZIP
NO IMAGE
LOADING SAPPDA3.NBH
NO IMAGE OR WRONG IMAGE
and it continues
any idea?

can't boot 32B's recovery(like Amon_RA's 1.5.2G recovery).
can boot 32A's (1.5.2H), but unable to mount filesystem correctly.

Got a same machine. I hate the OMS, but don't know how to hack it and replace other ROM with original one.

Hi Geeks,
Today through this forum, I came to know latest Singapore ROM ( 1.5 + Sense). I was curies to flash that and without seeing it has a new version of perfected SPL I did it and now I am stuck. I cannot burn the Amon_RA's 1.6.2.

i flashed Amon_RA [How-To] Fix perfected SPL (fastboot remote: not allow) from thid thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218
and i used ROM v2.16.151.1 (NON-Perfected stock SPL v1.33.0009) of course via goldcard/hboot without any problems or errors.

nice thread, but as stated there you must flash "a ROM with a version that is HIGHER than your current ROM version." there is no higher version than 3.03.751.4 which comes with Taiwan or Singapore 1.5 + sense ui
so the only solution right now is to wait for a higher version with a non perfected SPL.

Did you upgrade to Official HTC sense ROM successfully before?

I have tried it with those three rom.
what i got is
Main Version is older.
Update failed.
AFAIK, ROM higher version than singapore with non-perfected spl is not released yet.
so...

I still wish acidburn and amon_ra to come up with a solution. And that to, with amon_ra's method, we have to wait for another updated version of rom.
Hmm.. its sure I am in to a well now, hard time to develop for 1.6 apps

seems i had a lot of luck , before i did is i was sure that update via hboot will fail with "Main Version is older."

i thought you have updated with HTC Offcial update

Hi,
you are also stuck with perfected spl.
If you want, you can try to fix your SPL by following Amon_ra's fixed perfected spl thread or fastboot into recovery mode.
AFAIK, there is no solution YET to fix that HBOOT-1.76.0007 (SAPP10000).

# Boot your phone while holding the VOLUME-DOWN key.
# Press the ACTION KEY (=trackball) to start the update.
# Wait until the update completes and press the ACTION KEY (=trackball) to reboot your phone.
My question is how did you flash two ROMs? can you elaborate a bit more?

RUU mode 32A on sapphire 32B

Hello i flash my 32b with "Official 3.03.990.6 SenseUI ROM for Vodafone", the phone is now in "RUU", i can t re-flash it or i don t found the good RUU.
I from france and i try all Ruu i can, but nothing.
the phone boot in fastboot with only RUU. my SPL 32b is now 32A.
if some know what to do? it s cool.

I have stucked in the same situation and I used the following to restore the phone:
Frist use HTC Sync fo Magic to update the phone with below ROM:

Same here stuck on RUU
same here after i flash my 32b with Official 3.03.990.6 and got a nice brick too.
i have tried arahma's RUU but im getting customer id error, update fail!
Dont know what to do anymore, fastboot find the device but i cant bootload recovery.img
Adb does not find device, so cant get a gold card.
Please help!!!

There are no SAPPHIRE 32B RUUs.

I think the key thing people are missing here is that this persons phone was a 32b not a 32a and after the bad flash its now coming up with 32a, i have the exact same issue and nothing seems to work, so i think ill tuf it and go back to my Windows Mobile (as much as i hate it) phone

You guys need to use the search function and read.
This issue has been posted multiple times before. Flashing the 32A only ROM on a 32B makes you unable to get out or RUU update mode. You wont be able to put anything on the phone, as the image extraction process will error out. You are now the owner of a brick.

perhaps you should have a look and see that i have kinda fixed the problem, and this wouldnt have happened if someone on here hadnt said that the rom was for 32b when in fact it was for 32a.

Same for me , have to send´it to vodafone for re-flash, try the vodafone download site in PT they have the RUU there English and Portuguese, maybe it works for you .

Restart the procedure with RUU bit press on the action key ( track ball ) from the beginning until it finishes.

you will get spl 1.76.0007,and no way to downgrade.

I've tried to install the new oficial RUU_Sapphire_SMC_Voda_WWE_3.03.990.6_release_signe d_NoDriver from taiwan update.
It installed the hboot update and when was installing the radio update freezed at 36% and had too reboot it .
Since then my phone is stuck in Ruu Screen .
I tried to install different RUU but it keeps giving my the "custom id check fail"
The adb services doesn't work because it doesn't see my devices.
The fastboot it works.
ANY Help ...pls

I've made a gold card , then i tried to install the RUU_Sapphire_SMC_Voda_WWE_3.03.990.6_release_signed_NoDriver but it keeps giving me the same msgs : Checking Custom ID... Update Fail!
My phone's imagine seems to be 2.17.401.2 ( it shows during the RUU setup)
also it shows in the RUU screen :

Your goldcard didn't work. You failed somewhere. Try make goldcard again or take another card. Kingston SDCards worked flawless

If Fastboot works, you should be able to "fastboot boot" a recovery image, which should let you talk to the phone using adb. Cyanogen's 1.4 and Amon-RA's 1.5.2(G for 32B or H for 32A) recovery let you talk adb to the phone....

Now it's alive again ...but with the slow 1.5 Cupcake

1. As you posted in december "Checking CustomerID. Update failed". You didn't make goldcard properly. There are many posts, when people made goldcard correct and did upgrade.
2. RUU_Sapphire_SMC_Voda_WWE_3.03.990.6_release_signe d_NoDriver
is NOT vodafone!
This upgrade ONLY for HongKong Smartone
3. Provide us you full SPL-info now and read forum, to get eng SPL and custom recovery. Official updates are not need, cause modified ROMs have more power.

Can't root my HTC magic after applying Nordic update

Hi, folks!
Couldn't find any topics about having problems with rooting HTC branded magic devices after applying _HTC Magic_RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_2.20.401.2_HTC_Nordic_release_signed_NoDriver ROM from offical HTC home page, so have to ask.
Situation: HTC branded magic (32A). Before applying above mentioned RUU, tryed to root my phone. Everything perfect, but than i applyed backup from recovery flasher. Than installed this nordic RUU and it is not possible to root device using recovery flasher any more.
So how to root this device? Any ideas? I can't even downgrade to basic HTC provided ROM i had before.
Spec: SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT - 1.33.0014 (SAPP10000)
CPLD - 12
RADIO - 3.22.23.18

Tryed using goldcard method, but still it doesnt work. I used this manual - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547133
I get to this point "- It should pick up the sappimg.zip and you should be able to flash it." and than it says: "Main Version is older!" and that's it. Where do i go wrong?
UPD.: Tryed this file (ROM v2.53.707.2) and those two manuals (http://vivekgolecha.blogspot.com/2009/08/as-promised-i-said-i-would-come-up-with.html and http://mariusmadsen.dk/2009/11/25/how-to-root-a-danish-htc-magic-from-3/) to get everything working.

I think I successfully made a goldencard. But it wont boot from the goldencard what ever i put on it. i get some error "no or wrong image

I used the guides topic creator linked to and it worked except that I can't flash my recovery program. Are you using Fastboot with USB connection to your PC?

yes i do, but i get an error.
