hi dear people help me out before i get mad
its been 6 days i am reading the posts and watching videos i had a perfected spl with android 1.6 details as follows
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0006 (SAPP10000)
CPL-10
RADIO-2.22.19.26I
i manged to downgrade it by creating a gold card using Amon_Ra method here:

and now i have

Why does it say H now while my boards is 32B it should be G
now when i use the flash recovery tool i says phone is 32A while its 32B so flashes the recovery but with i click home and power the screen stucks at HTC MAGIC boot screen
what do i have to do now???
plz help i am just lost into to many things

is your radio not 32a radio ???

Did you download and flash the correct Amon_Ra recovery image? There are 2, one is G and other is H, look at the link/file you downloaded.

Follow directions closely. There are 2 different versions of the sapphire 32A or 32B. always make sure you use the right stuff that you are trying to download for.
There is also no need to create a goldcard any more for the perfected SPL. Look up the Sapphire WIKI that is stickied and gather the important information.
Then follow the directions in this link: this worked perfectly for me.

I also came across other threads that indicate how to do this much simpler way, but this is the only one I can vouch for since I have tried it.

just download the 32B radio and recovery image, then go into fastboot and do this
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RAv1.2.3G.img

Yes, do this. This should fix you right up.

loads of thanks guys but i messed up the recovery i flashed was of H build and ROM i was trying to load was of 32B i did the flashing and now cannot go forth the HTC MAGIC logo i am stuck there
but i can go to the recovery and also can go to the fastboot and Hboot menu wat to do now

Lol. If you actually read the thread you "followed", would would have noticed Amon_RA's comment later on which says..
"[...] if you're using a 32B you just have to flash a 32B radio after (see how-to root mytouch thread for more info on that)."
As already stated, you need to flash back to a 32B radio and the fastboot command(s) were posted on Page 1. If you don't know how to use fastboot then you need to do more reading before attempting anything like this - you will need the Android SDK from their website.
Ofc flashing your radio can brick your phone if dont wrong, so I'd advise you do some reading up.

I'm not sure if the radio img on the HTC Dev site is suitable - I mean I guess so, but I don't know much about radio flashing so am not 100%.
Check the stickies for links, or search for guides on fastboot/using adb.

okay will do that i just messed up things thought they were quiet easy but they are turning out to be . . . . .. . . . .. .
i did this all for getting good UI like hero or caynogen but now the charm is dead its not my type of thing

Lol, then you needn't have downgraded in the first place. But anyway..
I'd advise sorting out your radio.img first (maybe the one from the HTC Dev ION site, but as I say I'm not sure), flashing an engineering SPL (now you don't have a perfect SPL anymore, this is a relatively straightforward procedure) and then flashing the Google ION official 1.6 ROM (unmodified ROM but you can gain root access and it's just normal 1.6).

Can't root my HTC magic after applying Nordic update

Hi, folks!
Couldn't find any topics about having problems with rooting HTC branded magic devices after applying _HTC Magic_RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_2.20.401.2_HTC_Nordic_release_signed_NoDriver ROM from offical HTC home page, so have to ask.
Situation: HTC branded magic (32A). Before applying above mentioned RUU, tryed to root my phone. Everything perfect, but than i applyed backup from recovery flasher. Than installed this nordic RUU and it is not possible to root device using recovery flasher any more.
So how to root this device? Any ideas? I can't even downgrade to basic HTC provided ROM i had before.
Spec: SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT - 1.33.0014 (SAPP10000)
CPLD - 12
RADIO - 3.22.23.18

I know for sure that goldcard method do work... I have rooted some magics with that SPL and Radio... So go ahead...

Tryed using goldcard method, but still it doesnt work. I used this manual - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547133
I get to this point "- It should pick up the sappimg.zip and you should be able to flash it." and than it says: "Main Version is older!" and that's it. Where do i go wrong?
UPD.: Tryed this file (ROM v2.53.707.2) and those two manuals (http://vivekgolecha.blogspot.com/2009/08/as-promised-i-said-i-would-come-up-with.html and http://mariusmadsen.dk/2009/11/25/how-to-root-a-danish-htc-magic-from-3/) to get everything working.

I have the same problem like you had.
Can you tell me how you did it?
I think I successfully made a goldencard. But it wont boot from the goldencard what ever i put on it. i get some error "no or wrong image

yes when i press volum down and power. the screen with a android on skateboard, its there i get the error message.

I used the guides topic creator linked to and it worked except that I can't flash my recovery program. Are you using Fastboot with USB connection to your PC?

yes i do, but i get an error.

thats when the phone is in fastboot usb, when the phone is started normally I just get waiting for device. But i know I have connection because when i run adb devices i get the serial number

There are plenty of threads about this. The short answer is that you cannot root this SPL at the moment. All the devs that would have worked on this are now working on the N1 so don't hold your breath waiting for a solution.
If anyone 'claims' to have rooted this ask for a link to the SAPPimg they used.

To be honest that last post is rubbish!
I had that spl AND i rooted it using AMON_RA's tutorial HERE and also HERE
Other that you can search for recovery flasher and use that! I had perfected spl when it came back from repair and its rooted,with dwangs rom on AND engineering spl now..

The only problem I had was finding a compatible SD card to turn into a Goldcard.
For me a Kingston 2GB did the trick where several Sandisk and unbranded cards failed.

I'll add my testimony! I had 1.33.0007 when I received my warranty replacement. I used the goldcard method from the Unlockr! Go here for instructions! The only thing that aggravated me until I figured out how to fix it was the vodafone splash screen... easy fix once I actually looked into it... thingonaspring and bonesy - Your links are much easier to follow than the Unlockr's!

Stuck with Vodafone 32B root (1.33.0007)

Been trying to root my uk vodafone 32b magic today, which was originally on a perfected 1.33.0007 spl. I followed guides over at unlockr.com to use a goldcard to flash the danger spl of 1.33.2005, which has worked, but im stuck beyond that. I can boot the recovery image (have to use the H version now as my phone now shows itself as an H/32A on the fastboot screen), but when i update to the cyanogen mod the phone freezes on the splash screen.
It just sticks at the vodafone logo following applying the two zip files. Is it anything to do with flashing the danger spl and the device now has the 32A stuff on it (i.e. it shows as 32B ENG S-OFF H now rather than G).
The infor on the fastboot screen is now as follows:
SAPPHIRE UNKNOWN 32B ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT - 1.33.2005 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO - 3.22.20.17
If anyone could give exact instructions on what i need to do i would much appreciate it..... im not sure whether i need to flash 32B radios or what...

You need to flash a 32A/EBI1 port because your radio is 3.22.20.17.
Your UK vodafone came with that radio?

I have managed to create a goldcard and apply this engineering spl (Engineerings SPL v1.33.2010 - ROM v2.53.707.2) by Amon_RA in hboot.
After rebooting, the splashscreen has changed to HTC and I now have Android v1.5. Everything went well, so I thought until I went back to fastboot to check on the SPL

I understand I have messed up by applying the wrong SPL. I tried to fastboot "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img", it hangs at the HTC magic splashscreen.
My questions:
What should one do to obtain s-off g and the appropriate radio?
Should one:
apply a different SPL, say 1.33.2004? < I think this is a google phone engineering SPL?
Or:
Change the radio following Amon_RA Revert to 32B Radio and ROM instructions?
The whole point of me gaining root access is to store applications on the sdcard and have a clean fast ROM.

I am running Amon_RA custom ROM at the moment and it is asking me to activate my T-mobile myTouch 3G phone. Now I could not use gmail because I could not activate via a t-mobile sim card.
Under Settings > About phone > Model number = T-Mobile mytouch 3G
Is there any way I could change this Amon_RA to a vodafone base? or is there anyway to activate google account via wifi like it was in Vodafone?

After turning off and on the phone. I am able to log onto google via wifi
Amon_RA custom ROM is fast! I am enjoying the clean v1.6 android. Way faster than the stock ROM.
Perhaps later I will try Cyanogen ROM

One more question:
If I ever need to send the phone back to Vodafone - how do I revert back to the stock ROM and SPL?

flash the stock rom (either from your backup or search the web),
flash the stock splash if you have a custom one by then,
flash the perfect SPL back.
That should be it.
