Is there a way (or app) to add a headset profile to the bluetooth on the phone so when I sync it with another device that other device will see the phone as a headset?
I have a ****ty Cricket phone and there aren't any AWS Spectrum TriBand smart phones for them. I have a TouchPro 7272. I want to connect them via bluetooth so I can talk on the TouchPro...
it works out of the box if your bluetooth software on the pc support
audiogateway profile
if it don't you can look if there is a newer version of the bluetooth software on the pc

Aim: To connect my HTC Touch to my laptop and to seamlessly use it as a headset for talking on Skype - i.e. use the cellphone microphone for input and the cellphone speaker for audio output.
Note: I know that there are bluetooth headset per se that may be paired with a PC, but I would like to know how to use my existing phone with this and understand whether this is technologically possible.
I am both interested in opportunities of bluetooth or wi-fi methods for connecting. In addition, you may supply info for software or hardware tools, but software fine tuning is preferred.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
As far as I can clarify I want to use my mobile:
a) as a bluetooth connected headset
and
b) as a bluetooth connected microphone
Are those implemented in the bluetooth profiles which are running on my mobile phone? (or on any other phone).
In general it would be possible based on technology, hence there are bluetooth headsets with integrated microphones. But are the needed profile extensions on the bluetooth protocols implemented by the mobile phone vendors such as HTC?
In other words, is the protocol stack extended by the chip vendor of the bluetooth chip inside the HTC - probably not HTC itself? And is the protocol stack implemented into the operating system - Microsoft mobile 6.1 by either HTC or Microsoft?
i'd like this on my kaiser too..
just looking around still.
I have a Tmobile G1, I can use my bluetooth to connect with a bluetooth headset but cannot use the bluetooth to connect with another phone. I have contacted Tmobile and they said the phone was designed to only work with bluetooth headsets and NOT with othr phones.
Can anything be down-loaded or altered to allow bluetooth to work with other handsets?
Check the G1 Forum Section for a solution. Other users have probably had the same problem and someone should have come up with a solution by now
Hello sensation owners,
I've got this amazing pioneer x3 with nav and bluetooth. Now the two are paired and the a2dp profile is running awesome, but there is one thing. I cant get the phonebook paired with my carkit.
I've study it last week and I know that
The sensation isn't supported by www.android-rsap.com
Hope this will be fixed. I've tried bluetooth file transport to send a vcard but no succes.
sent with unbranded htc sensation stock rom not rooted.

Had a quick look and the sensation supports: http://www.htc.com/us/support/sensation4g-tmobile/help/bluetooth
The phone supports the following Bluetooth Profiles: A2DP, HID, HFP, AVRCP, PBAP, OPP, FTP, GAP, GOEP, HSP, MAP, SPP and SDAP profiles, as well as other standard profiles.
Can you not use PBAP ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP, PBA)
Phone Book Access (PBA)[5][6] or Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) is a profile that allows exchange of Phone Book Objects between devices. It is likely to be used between a car kit and a mobile phone to:
allow the car kit to display the name of the incoming caller;
allow the car kit to download the phone book so the user can initiate a call from the car display.
SIM Access Profile (SAP, SIM, rSAP)
This allows devices such as car phones with built-in GSM transceivers to connect to a SIM card in a phone with Bluetooth, thus the car phone itself doesn't require a separate SIM card. This profile is also known as rSAP (remote-SIM-Access-Profile). More information on which phones are supported can be found here(German version only)
Does the Pioneer even have a built-in GSM receiver ? If I've read the info correctly the implication I took is that, rSAP allows a GSM enabled carkit to piggy back off the SIM in the phone. The car kit has to do all the GSM Transmit/Receive for the call and not the phone. I looked at some phones that support it and they're generally OLD ones, e.g. Nokia 6310i.
Hello,
I want to extract the audio from my phone (the analog TV and FM/AM receiver mainly) and play it through my computer speakers. There is a headphone jack but it is of non-standard size (slightly smaller, probably 2.5mm).
Both my laptop and my phone support A2DP but for some reason the service (from the phone) does not show up while I add a new connection and the phone does not let me initiate a connection with any other profile except FTP (although it detects other services in the service list like A2DP and works perfectly fine with other profiles like DUN, HID, OPP, SSP if the connection is started through the computer).
I am currently using the latest version of the Toshiba stack, I have tried using WIDCOMM but it refuses to install drivers for both the internal Bluetooth and the USB Bluetooth that I use on my desktop. The standard Microsoft stack (generic driver) does install but it does not work with both of my devices as they do not detect any Bluetooth devices when scanning.
How can I make my phone detect my computer as a headset?
Thanks in advance.
I am planning to buy the Smartwatch, however there is one thing I am not sure of. Can I connect my phone to the Ford Sync (with phone capabilities) and the SmartWatch at the same time? I checked numerous forums, but couldnt find the info I needed. Anyone?
how does ford sync connect to phones? bluetooth? smartwatch.. bluetooth!
question is... how many bluetooth devices can you connect to an sgs3 (or any phone)

You can have multiple bluetooth devices connected at once but they cannot use the same profiles.
For instance, you can connect to a stereo a2dp profile on one bluetooth device and a phone profile on another device simultaneously.
I connect to 3 devices at once, a stereo bluetooth dongle in the car, a headset, and an OBDII Elm327 diagnostic vehicle scanner.
In your case, if you want to connect to both, you need to uncheck the "Call audio" in the settings for that specific device. Make sure only "Media audio is connected". Next, for your headset, if it only supports "Call audio" i.e. the phone profile, then your done and you don't need to do anything. If your headset is a newer one that supports media audio, you'll need to go to the settings and do just the opposite you did for the car media bluetooth and deselect "Media audio" leaving only "Call audio" checked.

that should answer your question
Thanks for your reply... I had actually searched and figured out the limitation. I know iOS allows multiple Bluetooth notifications and I was wondering if there is a hack or something for Android as well. I would like the phone profile available on the watch and on while I am on the car. It is really inconvenient to switch on/off the profiles depending on where I am.. Manually.

You can use a tool like tasker to set on/off any device basedon on your location. Also can use it to set any profile to your devices.
I didn't need to do anything!
Both worked together! I am glad!
