Some Nexus One Parts etc... - Nexus One Accessories

Ive ordered from here before, and its a great place!

same here. Parts for Cheap!

Is the matte screen protector on there any decent?

I dunno. I've just ordered parts to fix phones, ie screens, keypads, etc and a few battery chargers. Going to love keeping a spare battery on deck again, stupid iPhone.

My Nexus one has a broken LCD but all they have on their site is the digitizer.. Hopefully I can find a replacement LCD soon..

cnn is great, but they ship slooooooow! Keep it in mind if you are on a tight schedule!

Those are not bad prices at that site!

bumpage for the morning folks

Can anyone tell me where to find lcd for nexus?

Nexus one replacement part needed
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part for the outer shell of the nexus one? The part i need is the aluminum frame that goes around the screen, earpiece, trackball and loops around the lower back... (Picture attached)
I dropped it and the scratches arent bad ont he plastic parts, but the aluminum part near the top (where the earpiece is) is chipped like crazy. Anyone know where I can get this part?
Or if I buy a mock up phone, will it disassemble into the same parts as the external casing for the real thing? Please help! Thanks!

anyone know where i can buy just an external speaker, mine is shot

possible replacement parts source
Searching around for parts for a friends Nexus one myself and found this for the housing.
http://mobile.brando.com/google-nexus-one-replacement-housing_p05399c0670d088.html
Also found this one who supposedly lists parts for the various sub-assemblies http://www.lunacommerce.com/154-nexus-one-spareparts
Have a email sent in to the last one for what they are calling the P/N LNC-GPGNOMB Google Nexus One Mid Chasis. Kind of sucks cause that is really 2 boards and Im only needing the small board that has the sim connector and sd card connector that sits on top of the main motherboard.
Have one broken pin on the sim card that is preventing the phone from being usable at this point and not able to find just the replacement sim connector or the board its on, instead the whole main board would require replacement. doubtful its gonna be cheap either. Anyone have a damaged unit with these cards they want to get rid of?

anyone else having problems using the lunacommerce site? i sent for an enquiry for a part and it said the price was sent to email but is not there?

good to know all these parts are available
Can you fix that SIM connector pin with solder?

Does someone know if the dummy phone have the same material as the real one?
I have also scratches in the aluminium around the phone, wondering if I can take apart the dummy and replace this onto my real one.
http://cnn.cn/shop/google-nexus-dummy-phone-p-8442.html

Ive ordered from CNN as well, parts where nice and fit great... I too am interested in replacement body parts for the N1.

I just looked for some parts around Brando site...
If you enter "Nexus One" as a search string you get all parts they have:
http://mobile.brando.com/search.php?keyword=nexus+one&Submit=Product+Search
as for me, a bit cheaper that "CNN" proposes.

Touch Diamond Replacement Housing!! Help!!!!

I just dropped my diamond by accident while running to my car to avoid the rain =="....
It was in a PDA case, but it still somehow popped out of the case and got scratched up...
So I am in DIRE NEED OF A REPLACEMENT HOUSING!!!
lucky for me, the only damaged parts were the metal rim around the front side of the phone and the battery cover...
I am thinking of just getting an extended battery so i can get a new battery cover with it as well.
But I can't find the Replacement part for the rim around the front of the phone...
I took a lot at the phone and it seems easy enough to replace the rim....but i need to find the part first....
Please guys, any help will be very much appreciated....
Really need this housing replacement...can't stand looking at my scratched up diamond =(
phones still in its early stages so gonna be hard to get hold of housing so quick. Usually best place is here
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-diamond-c-277_533.html
but they only have screen and back plate at the moment
just be patient a little bit longer.
does that shop deliver quickly??
would it be possible to ask for oem parts directly from htc...?
i talked it over with htc canada today and it may cost upwards 100 CDN to fix the cosmetic damage =(
no insurance?
uh no...i've never insured a phone before....
never thought it would the belt clip would break and let the phone fall and get scratched =="
argh...
any ideas on what to do...
should just take out the rim and touch it up myself ^^"....
oh i've got an idea =D!!!!
I can buy a dummy phone and replace it directly that way...
right.....?

In a very rare occasion you can use dummy phones.
Mostly the inside is completely different, no way of using those dummies for housing parts.
Haven't seen a dummy Diamond yet, so I can't tell if it is usable, but mostly HTC dummies aren't usable.

i'm just lokoing to replace the outer rim on the front side of the phone and the battery cover....?
so maybe its possible...
ill drop by a local mall and see if its possible i guess....
loads of dummy diamond phones on ebay the last time i check it out.
i wouldn't say loads...
i saw a total of 4 =P lol
average 20-30 dollars CDN
which is fine for me if i can use it as housing and battery cover replacement
anyways heading out to check the dummy model =)
it doesn't work =(
its one giant piece, so i can't really take it apart to replace the piece i want...
How hard is it to take apart the diamond?
The invisible shield really stuffed up my screen. I can see parts flaked off the screen (looks like a thin protection layer) which is believe is the touch sensor itself. It has not affected the use of the phone but looks ugly.
EDIT: Home from work and did a search and found this: http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor-htc-touch-diamond/
Looks like a lot of work to get to the digitizer.
wow amazing find...was looking for a page like this...
aw man...the housing is one whole piece from what i can tell from the last picture...guess a DIY housing replacement is not really gonna be easy....
i'm gonna ask HTC for an estimate....
just minor cosmetic damage on mine on the corners so nothing too huge but it pains me to see it every time =(
at least this seems a bit easier than fixing the iphone....its so much work to put in a new digitizer cause of the way the housing is built
Looking for the Telus Black rear cover
If anyone finds a place that is selling the black rear battery cover for the CDMA version of the phone i would be interested.
anyone have any lucking finding a replacement housing?
I can provide the replacement housing
It cost about 36 euro

anywhere to get the original front/side part of the case?

unfortunately, i have dropped my phone on the ground a couple of times, and now, the lighter grey part (front and side) are full of dents and scratches. As you can see in the pictures below.
i had a lot of searches, but couldn't manage to find a replace original case on the web. Does anyone know if I can get one somewhere?

I called HTC at 1-888-231-4736 and ordered the part for $23.99 shipped via Fedex Ground (3-5 business days). A live person answered the phone after 2-3 rings. Ordering directly from HTC is cheaper than htcpedia.com

Here is the direct line for the Nexus One support line:
1-888-216-4736
That should save you a few minutes. Also was able to get a free sleeve and battery cover. They are shipping out tomorrow apparently. My guess is the folks that said it cost money may have called and gotten thier freebie already.

I can tell you the construction of the dummy phone for the N1 isn't at all like the actual phone - no useful parts at all.
Sorry to bump an old thread but I am also looking for this part. Everyone seems to sell every part except this one everywhere I look. I found a possible match here globaldirectparts.com/Google-Nexus-One-Replacement-Repair-Parts-s/6177.htm but it's a minimun order of 2 and there is no picture so I'm not even sure if iits the right part. You guys know of anywhere to get this part without ordering a whole housing set?
Thanks!

You can get them from eBay, although they are from Hong Kong and will likely take some time to arrive. The site you mentioned has the same part under Front housing. Basically the front housing is the metal part of the Nexus one. All other parts slide out and are placed inside the metal housing, it's not the easiest or quickest of tasks (Especially if you've never had your Nexus one open) but if you take it slow and careful you shouldn't run into any problems.
Oh and I didn't mean to hit thanks

You're more than welcome!
Yeah, I have been searching ebay for a few days now and all I can find are the full housing sets (battery cover + Bottom cover + Chassis + Front/Side) or battery door and bottom cover. I bought the phone second hand and everything is in good shape except the front housing. I thought I would just live with it but now I just find all all the chips really annoying.
And I thought the site I linked was probably the right part but ordering two is pointless unless I sell the other on ebay I guess.
Not worried about taking the phone apart, looked at the fixia page and it looks pretty straightforward.
Ebay most definitely

Dropped my phone on concrete :(

And now the pristine MAO case has some horrendous chips and scratches, and I'm really pissed off.
I can't seem to find a reliable or legit looking seller on eBay that will sell a genuine MAO case, the new bevelled USB version. I'm based in the UK, but wouldn't mind buying from an international seller that ships to the UK also. Does anyone know of any good eBay sellers selling genuine HTC parts?
Failing that, does anyone know roughly how much it would cost if I were to send it back to HTC to replace it? I asked HTC support but they don't sell spare parts and can't give a quote unless I send the phone first. Any estimate would be great.
Thanks.

I'd say you're pretty lucky the screen is intact. Get some black nail polish and fill in the chips, then put one of the super thin cases/skins on it.

The chips are pretty bad. Nail polish is gonna look hideous. Plus the whole point of this phone was to not put it in a case. I'm usually very careful with dropping a phone, this is the first time it's ever happened in my life.
I think I'm just gonna buy a housing off eBay and replace it. And if the housing turns out to be crap (even though they assure it is genuine) then next step would be to insure it and then make a claim.
Hi,
I got a MAO back cover from here: http://www.parts4repair.com/htc-one-s-back-cover/
I asked by e-mail and they say it's an original HTC repair part. I received and replaced the cover and it is indeed indistinguishable from the original. I don't know how it will hold out over time, though.
Before ordering the back cover, I asked an authorized HTC repair service in Switzerland about the repair cost; they said 59 CHF for the cover + labor costs. Like in your case, they cannot estimate labor costs without seeing the phone.
I replaced the back cover myself. It is not that difficult, but you lose warranty (there is a VOID sticker you need to puncture). Be careful that the MAO back cover is structurally different from the gray one: under the lower plastic "flap", there is another black plastic piece that needs to be removed before you can pull the phone from the back cover (first unscrew the two black cross-type screws, then pull out the plastic piece).
Good luck!

Thanks, I knew the difference between the black and gray ones and since mine is black I just want to fix the fact that it's chipped. I'm comfortable with replacing it myself so I might just get it from the website you linked. I just have one question though, can you notice on the replacement cover you ordered whether it has the "new style" beveled USB port? I only want to bother replacing it if it has that USB bevel which indicates it won't have the chipping issue. Other than that, how long have you had it and have you noticed any chipping?
I'd probably fix it myself, it will save money and also won't have to be without a phone.

I only used it for ~1 week.
Unfortunately, I didn't know about the bevel and did not check. I don't have the phone anymore (it was the S3 version, I sold it and got an S4). If your eyes are better than mine, try looking at these photos:

I would say that it does not have the bevel, but the quality is not that good. I don't have the full resolution photos either.

Ahhh yea those pics are crap. Thanks for your help anyway. I'll think it over and see what I should do.
Just thought I'd let people know. I ordered a case from no.1-tech on ebay (Hong Kong based). Only 20 GBP (including postage) and 12 calendar days later, the case arrived. And at the expense of voiding my warranty, I went ahead to swap the case myself at home. It was a lot easier than expected to do.
So far so good. Seems like a genuine part, but best of all, and much to my surprise, it is the newer beveled USB design as well. Either that or a really incredible fake. Part number matched exactly on the case I removed and it had a date stamp also.
All in all, my phone is now brand new again, with the exception of a small chip that I got on the actual plastic portion around the screen. Not much I can do about that short of getting a whole new digitizer which unfortunately only comes bundled with a screen too. Can't justify 100 GBP to fix a tiny chip on the plastic lol.

Nice work. Does the disassembly require pry tools (which I suck at) or is it all just screws?

For just the case you can get by without pry tools. You need a T5 torx and a small phillips screwdriver. Once you have the 4 screws removed, apply some pressure on the inner phone assembly that is exposed at the bottom, you basicaly want to push it outwards towards the face of the phone. Obviously be careful with the pushing. It should easily give way as I found it isn't really glued into the housing. You might need a credit card or something to help you ease it out once you have made room with the pushing. I hate pry tools too and had no problem doing it this way. The one thing to be careful about is the plastic assembly at the bottom. Take a good look at how it fits in, so you don't mess it up when putting it back together.
By the way, you can buy HTC void stickers too:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-VOID-WA...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item337c0261f7
If I ever do need to send it back to HTC under warranty I'm sure those would do the trick

It almost always is for regulatory reasons (less radiation in the dummy head) even though it makes for less signal when "you're holding it wrong". There's an anandtech review showing the antenna placement as well.

Well for me I slowly pried the gap at the bottom edge. It's got adhesive on the inside sticking it onto that plastic assembly I mentioned earlier, but just keep prying it slowly so the adhesive doesn't get all messed up. It should flip open like a door with the hinges being where the beats logo is, eventually it'll open right out then just pop it out.
Hi guys,
I got similar story and want to replace my housing.
I have the EU S4 black/red model. I think its one of those with the chipping issue, but not much damage, until the drop which cut the top corner to straight 45 degree white line and scratches my finger every time I use it in landscape mode.
Anyway wanted to ask, since you already tried/used it for some time.
Is the eBay one genuine or just a good fake?
Or is the one from parts4repair a better choice?
Also after removing the bottom plastic cover, as I understand it has glue to it to keep it in place. Do I need to replace that on the reassembly or just heating it back and pressing will work with the old one? Or it has something else to keep it in place other than the glue?

[Q] What is the purpose of LCD Rear Metal Plate? Good place to get screen?

Hi everybody!
I just got used Moto G, cheap There is problem with the unit: bottom half of the screen doesn't work (the digitizer). Guy told me he dropped it but I don't see any cracks or scratches...
So I followed video from youtube and disassembled it.
Now. My unit doesn't have two pieces: it doesn't have blue cover tape over LCD/digitizer connector and it doesn't have LCD Rear Metal Plate between board and digitizer...
Is it normal? Or looks like somebody took apart before me?...
It's Canadian unit, from Telus (if it matters).
And next question: what place do you recommend to get replacement screen/digitizer from?
Thanks!
Etradesupply. Or phonepartsusa if they have them. Last I looked they were $30-40 US or so. I Am unsure of the aluminum shielding. My assumption would be for conductivity to ground the digitizer but that's just a hunch. There were early model touch screen phones that would not register touch when you laid the phone down without holding it. I think my old HTC eris was that way. Before buying a display, I would watch the videos again and check where the tape is during disassembly and use masking tape on those areas and put back together. Worth a shot I would think.

Thanks for reply!
Yes, I checked etradesupply. They have this part only in HK warehouse. And during ordering procedure they show some message about custom fees for private customers and suggest to register company with them...
Anyway. I found couple on eBay from one seller. But he calls this part "inner heat shield". So it cost me $7 plus $7 for shipping from LA to Canada (still cheaper than etradesupply).
So now I'll order new screen+digitizer from aliexpress and start my trial
Thanks again!

Anyone replace U11 rear glass cover?

Has anyone done a replacement on their own? I'm hoping someone's done it and can say simple or watch out for X. I've got a heat gun, all kinds of tools, and have watched the teardowns.
I dropped it a month ago and just the corner was cracked, now most of the back is a spider web.
HTC branded ones are $80 on eBay and aren't the kind of thing you want to go cheap on. Thanks for any feedback.
I too need to know. Didn't even play with it for 6 hours and it tumbled and completely shattered. From the vids, it doesn't look too difficult but ya, if there is anything to look out for let us know. Thanks!
In the teardown videos you can usually see what you have to look for, like if there's something attached to it (NFC antenna for example).
Watch a few different ones and you should be good.
The only advice i can give from fixing a lot of phones is, to not rely on the adhesive which usually comes already placed on the part.
Buy some special liquid glue for it! It will save you a lot of headaches, keep it dust free and preserve the waterproof feature.
With the delievered adhesive you will soon have dust in your camera, and if you don't clean every bit of the old adhesive before
replacing it, sooner or later it will get loose.

Will do. I have a pile of parts for phone repair and glue tape. If a liquid glue is really better for the water sealing, is there a specific phrase to punch into Amazon to get the stuff you use?
Oddly enough, the part was $80 on eBay and they all disappeared. There's only $40 'used' but cosmetically perfect ones. I got the cheaper one and will be happy.
Thanks for the feedback. It should arrive this coming week. I'll post results.

There's no amazon where i live
Quick google search should give you some options
Used ones do not come with the double tape adhesive on the back and I'm not sure you can find that anywhere to buy. If you use some kind of liquid glue, which I did on an S7, because the phone is sealed, all the vapors will affect the internal components and you need to reopen the phone in order to clean them ( mine had a problem with the light on the menu button ) which will result in breaking the glass back.
You have two options:
1. buy some glue that is made specifically for this
2. buy some double sided tape ( best option ).
Good luck !
It actually came with the factory tape on and an extra set of 3m tape. It was exactly the same as the stuff used by the factory. The only area not covered was a section of the lower right of the phone. I cut up some of the extra and stuck it down. Heat it all up and its new again.
Zero complaints, easy. Thanks for the pointers!

I got it from eBay. KK Parts was the vendor. I got a screen a few weeks later from them because they sent what they described. They were honest with a small scratch on the screen I got a few weeks later. When I looked at eBay vendors (all China), a lot had taken pictures from another post. KK was one of 2 or 3 who showed pictures of what you were buying.
Plus... the rear glass had the factory waterproof tape mounted on the back and they gave extra strips. I'd buy from them again
Hi Jimbob,
Do you have a link to the ebay page? I am having trouble finding that vendor.
Thanks for your help.

That's just the glue mate, not the cover, but yea I can fix it.
HTC U11 Life back cover repair
I've seen some repair video online and it seems not difficult. I had a HTC U11 and crack on back cover accidentally, bought a new cover from witrigs and replace it myself, it's quite easy than I thought, just follow the tutorial and heat up for enough time.
