I have a htc hermes 300 and a htc touch (elf) and i am wondering if this can be done.
Basicaly i want to leave my hermes in one room and have it send real time audio to my other device (touch)
reason being i wanted to set them up as a baby monitor and am not sure how.
I also have a p990i smartphone which when i pair via blutooth to my elf or tyntn displays listening device as a service but i dont know how to choose or set this up.
Is there a way to set this up or maybe 3rd party app that can do this ??
both ppcs are on wm6 and my SE p990i is runing UIQ3.

possible - see MS Portrait, Fring, OctroTalk or even Skype. search the Wiki
EDIT: unfortunately, TCP/IP apps like the above all require a BT PAN network. I don't know if the 990 is BT PAN-capable; the Nokia N95 isn't. If it is, then, it'll work.
An alternative would be using the target WinMo handset as a "headset" of the 990. Unfortunately, this doesn't work either (with the built-in MS BT stack on WinMo. With Widcomm, it MIGHT be hackable.).

Hi..
How is the battery backup practically ?
thanks
how to upgrade this phone to wm6.5 friends?
thx.
is there any comment for C6625?
Comments on C6625
I am a new owner of a Samsung C6625.
First thing first the minuses:
- no touchscreen running an OS designed for touchscreens! most software are running but are unusable. Imagine a igo8 running and getting stuck in the main menu (frustrating)
- GPS has poor signal
- WM is standard
- community support for it is limited!
- no wifi
Pluses
+ no slide for keyboard
+ bussiness phone image.
Advice
Buy a normal touch screen phone something form HTC, Eten if you are lucy and don't have hardware problems then you have good mobile with great community support. I also have an older M700 Eten running WM6.5 that I will keep because the C6625 isn't able to replace it.
hello all,
i'm from indonesia,i've use this phone for quite sometimes.
its true that garmin XT works very nice in this device.and if you want to use free pushmail you might consider using SEVEN (its realtime pushmail, excellent).
someone posted about sms notifier,is it similar to sms ticker?cos if it is its already in the device,so you don't have to install third party softwares.
i found this device very handy, especially for backups.by simply using microsoft myphone, and my C6625 is on the internet!
for other applications,i think we can use any WM 6.1 softwares.heaps of it is on the net!^^
about upgrading to 6.5, i don't think C6625 will survive,or maybe if you push it,it'll explode because of the processor's limit.LOL

i think GPS signal depends on your location,so it doesn't count for the minuses of this device.CMIIW
The device is more than good, my best one-Hand Phone. I use it for months, GPS with Garmin is really nice. But now I look for the HTC ozone, Samsung Omnia B7330 or LG GW550, it just has something new here. Therefore, I sell my C6625 so if you have interest, just let me know.

TMC info via GPRS/G3

Seems there is no easy solution to receive TMC on many PDAs or phones. I have difficulty finding a working TMC solution for my HTC Diamond 2 with any NAV program.
There are a lot of smart guys on this forum. Why not make TMC available via a website and load it via G3/GPRS in any suitable NAV program?
-Receive TMC signals around the world and put them on a site
-Build a program for PDA that will download TMC info from site via G3/GPRS and make it available to suitable Navigation software.
This should be possible, fast, should work around the world, independent.
Anyone?????
To the best of my knowledge the whole problem is that TMC is built around dumb PNA devices with no internet connection. The FM broadcast concept works for PNA as it only picks up local relevant data and it means that the owner of the PNA does not need to subscribe to a dataprovider (phone company) just for their PNA.
You would think that PDA devices would begin to get some navigation market share and attention but you get a higher perceived product value by selling a hardware navigation device rather than navigation software (plus you prevent software theft). Navigation providers know that the big money is in selling hardware which really costs them peanuts.
However as you point out there is definitely a market for navigation incident data to be available via the internet. The obvious problem would be how the information gets onto the internet in the first place.
This has been a very unhelpful rant but I am frustrated by the same situation
Getting the TMC info on the net should not be that hard. I can receive the Dutch TMC with a simple receiver and put it on internet. If more people do that for their country or region, it would be available to anyone. It should be easy to develop a simple device which could do that all automatically.
I agree that companies want to sell hardware or a subcribtion to traffic info (like TomTom is doing with TT Live)
If there is a demand, there should be a way....
I have a touch HD and my girlfriend the touch Diamond2
We both have IGO8 working on our device with TMC. not via GPRS but with the headset.
Look at this thread and you have tmc without hardware.
And maybe you've allready found it. But maybe handy for other users.

Topaz (Diamond2, WM 6.5 Dutty R3, Igo 8.3)
Does anyone has a working solution fpr this combination?
iGO8 8.3
GJ latest Version ((6.11....)
Topaz WM 6.5 (Dutty R3)
The issue is that - on GPS Port 4 / 9600 combined with TMC Port 9 GNS GPS drops connection. When you reenable it over iGO it says Device connected but no Sattelite found (like hanging) but receiving TMC Messages ...
Also - even as Channel is set in sys.txt it doesn't use it in iGO. When using Autotuning it sees Channels with TMC but jumps over instead of staying at a tuned one - when doing it manually it us anoying (as you don't know how for it goes when you press the tuning button) and doesn'rt remember the chanel ...

Jetware/Bluetooth Extension for HD2 Widcomm stack

Hi
My Topaz died over the holidays (oil spot under the screen) and in a fit of half drunken exuberance I ordered a HD2 from devicewire. I now have a shiny HD2 and I think I'm in LOVE
I already had the Sense UI installed on my Topaz (Duty's excellent Holy Grail R6 ROM) so it's not so much the UI which appeals, but everything is LOVELY when rendered on that gorgeous screen. Sitting in bed connecting to guardian.co.uk thru wi-fi, I can read the text on the mainpage without any zoom and the pages render so fast, it's like a flipping laptop!
BUT ... I have a problem. A problem related to the Widcomm stack. I have previously used Jetware to access the BT interface in my Audi for a number of HTC phones over the years. Unfortunately jetware won't work at all with the Widcomm stack. It's ironic, because the phone will actually sync fine with the car, but it tries to sync the entire phonebook (in excess of 1100 numbers). In the past, I've used Jetware to only sync around 80 of these contacts to the car (I put them in an outlook category called "car" and told jetware to only sync those).
I realise this is a pretty specific requirement, but I either need a version of Jetware which plays with the Widcomm stack, or an app that will only allow the vanilla Bluetooth in the phone to send ONLY the "car" category contacts to the phone. Anyone have any ideas? Due to my job, the people I need to talk to regularly can change quite a bit.
Any help much appreciated!!!
Thanks
Stoatie
Really? no-one? I'd offer £50 paypal payment to anyone who can make Jetware run on the Widcomm stack ... surely someone like Duty could knock this out in an afternoon??
I was also trying to install the jetware extension on my hd2 to get rid of the bluetooth connection problems with my carkit (losing connection after some time). But unfortunately it is not available yet on the widcomm stack...
Please post this when available....
Thanks
Dion
Another $50,- from me, if someone can make it...
I am having the same problem as well ... cant load the extensions in HD2

SMS over Bluetooth

I am trying to get my HD2 to work with the bluetooth system on my car.
The car has the ability to read SMS recieved while connected.
The phone needs the ability to send "SMS over Bluetooth".
The bluetooth system on the car is a Blue & me developed jointly between Fiat and Microsoft using windows mobile but I cannot find any links to the software to wnable this to work on my phone.
Does anyone know any more about this???
Ta Des
EDIT. I have discovered the protocol is called "message access profile" or "MAP" is it possable to add this or does it need to be written into the firmware??
Its more than likely a firmware thing but also down to which protocols the phone supports to start with hardware-wise. Have a look through the manual or HTC support site to see which protocols are supported out of the box with the HD2 then check with a few of the chef's in the HD2 forum to see if they know of any support for the HD2 and the MAP protocol
Moved as not software release.
Yeah cheers for that it is now hiodden in the back of beyond I wanted it somewhere where HD2 users would find it.
