But recently I have purchaed samsung c-6625 and I have install Vito 1.37, While calll recording it records only opposite person's voice, and doesn't record my voice at all. I have tried this with one note also with insert voice recording but same result. infect i need to put my speaker phone on even if i have to record opposite person't voice,
I can't understand why it is not recording my voice? As this is my day in day out feature i was looking in my phone, if this doesn't seems to be work then i have to buy new one again with same facility...

is there any comment for C6625?

Comments on C6625
I am a new owner of a Samsung C6625.
First thing first the minuses:
- no touchscreen running an OS designed for touchscreens! most software are running but are unusable. Imagine a igo8 running and getting stuck in the main menu (frustrating)
- GPS has poor signal
- WM is standard
- community support for it is limited!
- no wifi
Pluses
+ no slide for keyboard
+ bussiness phone image.
Advice
Buy a normal touch screen phone something form HTC, Eten if you are lucy and don't have hardware problems then you have good mobile with great community support. I also have an older M700 Eten running WM6.5 that I will keep because the C6625 isn't able to replace it.

hello all,
i'm from indonesia,i've use this phone for quite sometimes.
its true that garmin XT works very nice in this device.and if you want to use free pushmail you might consider using SEVEN (its realtime pushmail, excellent).
someone posted about sms notifier,is it similar to sms ticker?cos if it is its already in the device,so you don't have to install third party softwares.
i found this device very handy, especially for backups.by simply using microsoft myphone, and my C6625 is on the internet!
for other applications,i think we can use any WM 6.1 softwares.heaps of it is on the net!^^
about upgrading to 6.5, i don't think C6625 will survive,or maybe if you push it,it'll explode because of the processor's limit.LOL

i think GPS signal depends on your location,so it doesn't count for the minuses of this device.CMIIW

The device is more than good, my best one-Hand Phone. I use it for months, GPS with Garmin is really nice. But now I look for the HTC ozone, Samsung Omnia B7330 or LG GW550, it just has something new here. Therefore, I sell my C6625 so if you have interest, just let me know.

Qtek 9600/HTC TyTN vs. HTC P3600 which one?

Can anyone tell me which of these HTC machines I should go for...
* Qtek 9600 / HTC TyTN
or
* HTC P3600
I would like to have WLAN, ability to use VOIP sip phones on it, useful for navigator, I would prefer QWERTY but not 100% important... on which one of them can I also use TomTom or any of the navigation systems out there...
thanks for more information
Tytn
if you edit and re-title/subject you're more likely to get responses from people who have either or both devices.
But my choice will be the Tytn because 1 the HTC P3600 is not available where I am, 2 I'd miss the keyboard after having a Wizard and 3 looking at the wiki, they look the same except for battery life and mine gets plugged into my pc every day and charges anyway.
B
thanks bbobeckyj for ur response... I wonder what sort of keyboard is with the P3600 as I haven't seen any picture or any info about this. I also think the TyTN would be nice for its QWERTY since using P990i small QWERTY made my writing much fun...
I am basically planning to get either one of this gadgets basically for VoIP over WLAN purposes & navigation since I own a SE P990i which lack the VoIP from Skype or any SIP soft phone but I wont mind enjoying easy texting to webpages and emails...
sorry,
I wasn't very clear, what I meant to say was that they look the same except the keyboard AND the battery life,
there is no board with the p3600,
B
please what is the board and what keyboard is with the p3600? I am new with these machines but I want to know b4 i make the final decision...
thnx
no keyboard on p3600
There is NOT a keyboard with the p3600. I was a little unclear in my first reply.
They look the same except the Tytn has a keyboard but a shorter batery life.
So basically, do you want a keyboard or a thin phone?
Sorry for the confusion,
B
i would like to have a keyboard but if I know what is on the p3600, i can decide properly. how can i type SMS on the p3600 if there is no keyboard or physical dialpad?
thnx
Tytn vs 3600
The Tytn (also i-mate Jasjam, Dopod 838 Pro) has a sliding keybord. Type in Jasjam or Tytn to Google and you'll get 1000 pictures. The 3600 lacks the keyboard, but has a functioning GPS chip that is only waiting for a factory ROM to make it work. Unless they can solve some hardware issues the Tytn will never have GPS so you will need a Bluetooth GPS receiver with the Tytn. It will them work as a Navigator. Check
http://www.calculatorking.com.au/images/dopod 838.jpg
for just one reference.
"i would like to have a keyboard but if I know what is on the p3600, i can decide properly. how can i type SMS on the p3600 if there is no keyboard or physical dialpad?"
pda phones have touch screens and support you writing sms's in handwriting on the screen or using the software keyboard in the software
p3450. herald (i think) is halfway between the wizard and tytn. look them all up on youtube to get a good view

thanks everyone for the input..i do like TyTN for the keyboard as it is quite stylish and fast to type SMS or use emails but with that P3600, it will be difficult to achieve that. I am indeed interest in the GPS and faster system in the P3600 but since many things even needs to be solved on the model,I better 4get about it

Why use WM6 over WM5?

I've tried quite a few of the WM6 ROMS (The only ones I haven't tried was Ivan's and Darkforce's). But I always see myself going back to WM5 (mostly because I miss video calling). Is it just me? or is there something about WM6 that I'm not seeing? This question is much like Windows XP vs Windows Vista... I just couldn't see any reason to use Vista.
Anyone kind enough to site the major differences or advantages between the two? (except for aesthetics, of course)
I know I could just google for comparison charts or something.. but I prefer various "user opinions" So please don't point me here: WM5 vs WM6 chart... besides, it's not very accurate since most cooked WM5 ROMS does have a few added features.

I agree with you to some extent.
In my opinion wm5 is much stable and made for the universal device that we all have.
Wm6 is not compatible and a beta app. Video call is part of the hardware and with wm6 , in-directly we have terminated that, in other words the world moves towards 3G/umts and we have made our devices fall back to 2G with wm6 crossbow which doesnot have video call.
Also its like driving hard to make wm6 perfect , which will never happen.
Its just like using a car and trying to put in a engine that is not compatible.
So I think uni devices is directly proportional to wm5. Period!
The reason I use WM6 over WM5 is this:
I love tweaking and messing around with my Universal
I'm not afraid of "bricking" it or having to reflash\loose data
I am hoping (sometimes I think, its a false hope...) that a WM6 ROM will be superior to my old WM5 one
Why the hell not?
Like I've said before - this is a forum for developers\hackers\tweakers, if you want a perfect ROM - look to your manufacturer. If you want to have some fun with your Universal (and void its warranty) then look no further!

There are a couple of apps that I find very useful, the new RDP client is much better & I use that a lot, Internet Sharing is a great tool for connecting to the Internet from my laptop on the move. The upgrade to the Office apps to support Office 2007 documents will help people who move to Off2007, but even though I use it I still save my files in Off2003 format so that the rest of the world can read them.
Apart from that I am sticking with WM5 for now because I need something that works more reliably.
I have reverted back to WM5 just after using the WM6 on universal for ~1h everytime. Reason: Its slow as compared to WM5(yeah, ironic ) and few unfixed bugs
But, what I love about WM6..
1)progress bar in Office apps. I love it when it shows the progress while opeing my big word document containing plethora of pics.
2)no 'unidentified driver' problem: many of us were getting this problem under wm5. I didn't experience it under wm6 under that 1h span though (my solution to that problem in WM5: as long as you use wisbar advance2, you will NEVER experience that problem)
3)glossy looks (though I still prefer wisbar advance)(see the screenshot attatched)
4)better phone integration
On the other hand, I m using WM6 on my wizard and its perfect
[img=http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/370/kamalxa8.th.png]
Well, I don't want to switch back to WM5. Mainly for those reasons:
1/ I don't use video Calling because NO ONE from my about 700 contacts has video calling capabilites (that's Germany ;-)
2/ The new RDP-Client is REALLY great and I use it often to connect to my Server
3/ The Messaging features like "instant search" is for me one of the most important, as I use the universal to write about 20 eMails per Day and take notes when i'm at my customers.
4/ (I know you don't want to read it ;-) The nicer looking
5/ My Universal is much faster with WM6 (not with all releases though) as with the original WM5 ROMs.
6/ The Original T-Mobile WM5 ROM is UGLY AS HELL ;-)
7/ I forgot: The Call-List in the corresponding Contact is another great Feature
If I can think of anything more, I'll tell you
I find WM6 faster and - unlike some posters - much MUCH more stable.

I too have been used such reasoning. Unfortunately after a while I came to the realisation that it was a false hope and went back to WM5.
That said, one reason to use WM6 is that the contacts app can query the DirectPush active directory to get Exchange contact details.

same here. german wm5 is unusable, slow as hell and buggy.
Hi,
I'm using WM6 (LVSW's ROM 2007-05-19) at the moment, mainly because I bought an Imate JasJam (Australian Telstra network) but use it on our "3" network and I didn't want to install the 3 Dopod ROM.
I did remove the Telstra customisations, but then lost Video call.
With LVSW's ROM, I now have video call back - Why do you say you don't have video calls in WM6????
I like to play with devices too!
Benifits so far (48 hours use) no freezes, a little faster, nicer looking & navigation plus there's a few new options but I'm not sure if they are useful to me.
Bad points - less memory storage & everyone at work is asking me about WM6!
Cheers! Oggy.
p.s. look further at video calls - it works for me!

REALLY??? Can you please give us more details as how you manage that? Links are good too.
WM5? Which AKU you are you talking about?
Here, the official WM5 release is AKU2, which is so slow that you can zZzZz.
For Cooked ROM, WM5 is up to AKU3.5 which is the one I am using, is with Video Call and fast.
WM6 still does not have video call, but there is a beta VideoCall cab which you can try, some works, some doesn't.
WM6 speed compare to WM5 AKU3.5, speed difference is marginal, but both are definitely faster than WM5 AKU1 & WM AKU2. But for WM6 to be slower than WM5, hmmm, how could this possible.
german t-mobile wm5 rom is quite unstable and unreliable. Some programs doesn't work at all on t-mobile wm5 roms (like cLaunch - ok, I know stupid example because cLaunch doesn't support vga resolutions at all... but it was the first application that came to my mind )
I'm satisfied with the functionality of wm6 roms. there is just one thing I don't like about it - how can I change the keyboard layout of an english rom? I would like to have an english rom but with the layout of a german keyboard - any ideas how to do that?

One problem with that - we have the I-Mate JasJar not the JasJam
Not meaning to flame, but as clarification:
I-Mate JasJam - - - - - I-Mate JasJar
Dopod 838Pro - - - - - Dopod 900
O2 Xda Trion - - - - - - O2 Exec
HTC Hermes - - - - - - HTC Universal
So, your WM6 ROM is different to ours
(How do I know the above? Well, I work for 3 in Australia.... )
hello,
I'm using Wm6 beta rom for testing exchange 2007 improvement with this os and there a lot of new features !!
like html mail format, Simplified Administration, Increased Monitoring and Flexible Policy Management ...

Not very popular. Probably not more than 25 people owns a Universal in Manila.. and only 3-4 of them (including me) actually bothers to flash their ROMS since they're too scared..
85% of cellphone users here use Nokia since Nokia devices (particularly the N series) have good 3G support. Most PPC devices seen here would be the Atom, XDA II/i, and Dopod 838 Pro.
3G is very good here.. and the reason I bought a Universal is because during the time I bought this (early 2006), this was the first PPC available that supports video calling... So please somebody make video calling work on WM6.. :beg:

Questions about HTC Cruise

I recently switched from using the ATT Tilt to the Cruise (mainly because it's smaller/lighter to carry around) It's mainly working ok, but I have a few questions:
1) Does anyone know of a decent handwriting recognition software out there I could use? On the TILT i got used to the "block-recognizer," as the lesser of evils, but i would LOVE to find software that can use the whole screen. I use these devices a lot, so after a while that lower left corner becomes all scratched up (even using a screen protector) , and then you have to pay about $200 for a new screen, since the characters no long respond well to Block Recognizer. I"ve tried the "Transcriber" that comes with Windows Mobile 6, and it seems awful, as do the several other programs i found online, such as Pen Writer and Caligrapher, i think they're called? Back when i used Palm/Treo devices, i really loved the Teal Script program, but it doesn't seem to work for W Mobile? Anyone know of anything that could work??
2) Some things worked better on the Tilt, i guess becuase of the ATT software? For example, on Tilt you can use the word completion software in the Calendar mode, but on the Cruise it doesn't come up. And the word completion software "remembers" two-word or longer phrases in the ATT Tilt software, but not in the Cruise. Is there any work-around to be able to do this on the Cruise too??
3) Is it worth trying to upgrade to 6.1 on the Cruise, through some kind of cooked ROM, or better to wait until HTC finally (hopefully) releases the 6.1 ware??
Thanks much!!
Daniel
1. sounds like transcriber
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...familyid=a8b343c3-2eee-41e3-9339-f7b303f4b386
Sorry, but Transcriber is already on the device, and it seem terrible to use?!! Isn't there ANYTHING out there that works ok??
Thx much!

Navigation software review for HTC Vox / S710

Hi,
i tried several navigation solutions for vox, and here is a little review:
1. Sygic Mobile / McGuider
+ works on WM Standard without additional software (like FakeCoursor)
+ good graphics while navigation
+ no bluescreens (at all)
2. Navigon Mobile Navigator 7
+ best graphics while navigation
+ fast route calculation
- doesnt works on WM Standard without additional software (like FakeCoursor)
- crashes operating system so that you have to do a hard reset.
- doesnt recognize GPS-settings from last use
3. Garmin Mobile XT
+ works on WM Standard without additional software (like FakeCoursor)
+ fast route calculation
- works to slow to navigate, gives hint "turn right" when you already passed the crossing.
4. Route 66
+ works on WM Standard without additional software (like FakeCoursor)
no further testing because i didnt find a "free" map to test
Hope this "little" review helps some people looking for navigation software for vox.
I use an external gps - Jentro BT-GPS-8U.
Greets
Alex
Nice little compilation.
I am using Garmin Mobile XT and I never found it too slow (except when you're using the preview of turns which then takes too long to switch back to normal view). I have been using it here in Germany as well as in Scotland and it always found a pretty good route (except for a small street on a small scottish island hehe).
I am using a Bluemax GPS receiver.
You forgot to mention Tom Tom which with version 7.915 (I don't remember the build...maybe 9196) has become pretty usable without a fake cursor.
Also regarding my experience...McGuider is the nicer but the less reliable...something you can't thrust in.
GarminXT, is pretty decent to use, and more reliable...as stated by Frauhottelman...sure it isn't the smoother thing you'll see in your life...but, hei, you're running it on a 200 Mhz TI OMAP CPU.
TomTom ...i'm starting hating it...it does whatever it wants...IMO...On my Fuze it simply ignores the settings you set in it...and keep you crossing field roads...LOL.. damn it!
So my 2 cents go for the Garmin.
P.S: Whenever you'll go to the WM Pro platform...my suggest point all theway out for the Igo experience.
Did you test any of these without GPS connected, i´m thinking it could be used as a normal roadmap for finding your way without GPS.
Hey
anybody know why i cant get the device id for my vox in ttnavitor.bif?

Help on a smartphone needed

Hi there
Just after a bit of help or reccommendations please. I want a pda/phone that has the following features:
Runs Windows (for live and messenger)
wifi
Runs office applications like exel etc so you can edit
Has a slide out qwerty keyboard (with or without touchscreen)
Has a camera and secondary camera (with flash would be ideal)
Possibly a radio although not relevant.
Something i can pick up on ebay for around £100 or cheaper!
I currently have an XDA Orbit which i adore, but want to upgrade and i know there are loads on the market now so need your help in choosing.
Thank you.
Either the Samsung B7610 or Htc touch pro 2
I would check out the HTC Rhodium TP2...
