Prophet needs warranty repair - can't downgrade rom?

My Prophet has stopped reading SIM cards, and will need a warranty repair.
I can't take it in as it is, what with Jesters spash screen and all. I just assumed I could re-run a previous rom to have it install, but apparently you can't "downgrade".
I've tried looking for downgrade guides, but I haven't managed to find one. Ultimately, as long as I can get the splash screens to have it boot up to "Invalid or Missing Sim" I should be home free, but how do I get them out of the previous rom? Or, how do I edit the rom so it'll install on my device?
I've tried using TyphoonNBFtool to edit the image version, when I go to resave the rom, it only saves 2kb, so I'm obviously missing something here. I'm currently looking into ways to strip files from the rom itself.
Any ideas or suggestions here?

I have had (and still have) problems with my S200. I have installed the LVSW AKU2.3 ROM and I did not have any problems with the warranty.
They just check the image, OS, SW release and radio version and they all passed the warranty check.
So there is no need downgrading.

This thread had all the tools I was after, and a PDF with tutorial. Obviously I just substituted what I required, and whammo. I initially attempted to use the prophet RomUpdateUtility-No Vendor ID, but that didn't work. So I tried the Wizard one that was included in the tools, and it worked no hassles.
So yeah, I'll take it back tomorrow.
Summary: You can't downgrade roms because if the IPL or SPL version (primary and secondary boot sections, or something) is lower than the one you have installed on your phone, it won't let you install anything. "This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get newer NBF file." So you have to use the tools in the above thread to split the nbf up into it's appropriate sections (OS, Extended Rom, IPL, SPL, Phone splash, HTC splash and GSM), then re-combine them without the IPL and SPL using a Cooking Guide and then use a working Rom Update Utility (as I mentioned above, I had to use the Wizard one that came with the tools because the Prophet one kept saying it couldn't open the "required file") to install it onto your phone.
You can use this thread if you're only interested in changing your boot splashes.

Downgrade WWE 2.03 to 1.12 problem?

I already enter to bootloader and connect the USB cable to PC and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to downgrade but not detect any Rom file. the log file show :

I tried for a long time but problem still.Quaere how to do?

Downgrade!
The way i do a down grade is by booting up the phone into the operating systems, and run MaUpgradeUt_noID whilst uder windows, it shows the rom at first and sometimes it states there is a country error, don't worry, run MaUpgradeUt_noID again and then it will not show the rom on the phone, but it shows the new one you're uploading, click upgrade and it will do it for you.

I been trying many time n way to do it also is same.
Just stuck with the Looking Device.

errors with 150 and 101. No downgrade and no upgrade radio 1.12 to 1.13.
It stuck in 2.03.

No way to pass
All I try to flash 1.13 rom from 2.03tx.
no possible to flash EVEN with imate-qtek generic wwe roms. 2.03tx rom is a great rom actually but need to downgrade.

Reset the Compact to USB-mode (power, camera, reset-button)
Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
Wait for the downgrade to finish.
No problems downgrading using the official t-mobile ROM (http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com, unpack the .exe using winrar)

Hey XDA-Community hope u can help me anyway.
I updated from gingeryohi rc5 to rc5.1, restored apps, set some settings and rebooted. Then my phone stucked @ vodafone bootscreen. i wanted to restore it by recovery, but it stucked too-.-
Then i tried to restore a nandroid by adb when running the stuck recovery but didn't work..
so i decided to reset the phone to stock cupcake by bootloader with "sappimg.nbh".
Then it updated some things like system, data, ... after that i had 2 options: Reboot and power off.
I choosed reboot.
The phone stucked again at vodafone screen and reboots again and again and I don't know what to do.
Now I'm on:
SAPPHIRE UNKWOWN 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0007 (SAPP10000)
CLP-10
RADIO-2.22.19.26I

OK @ ALL who having the the same problem than on the top described read this instruction to get the solution:
1. Flash SAPPIMG.NBH by BOOTLOADER
2. Press REBOOT. When it can't boot into Android SHUT DOWN
3. MAKE A HARD RESET: PRESS [HOME]+[BACK]+[POWER] and AGREE the question with the trackball and reboot

If you dint follow the instructions on how to flash, you most probably semi brick't it, meaning you have low level stuff plus kernel initializing but not android runtime.

This happened to me before and I had to delete the android secure file or try using super wipe which more safe. I know how u feel. Good luck just searching around.

Hmm.. could it be that there is a wrong kernel on the phone.-> The kernel of my last rom? Can I flash the right kernel via Bootloader or fastboot???

2. I can't use superwipe because have no recovery anymore... I only have the bootloader....

I don't have to follow any instructions to flash lol. I did it 100 times... The strange thing is that i flashed the rom and it booted and ran. Then i restored some market apps and set settings like display brightness, Ringtone and some other small things. And after i rebooted it stucked at Vodafone (provider) screen :/ But thats not longer important because I restored the phone and i'm only able to use the bootloader. But android still don't work.

it gives me error radio error.
pls tell me what i m doing wrong and how to solve this issue thanx.

Writing EXACTLY what is written on the phone screen helps getting an answer.
In any case, if you're getting Fail-PU - your phone is dead.

Update utility comes with error. "Error bootloader version. Main Version is lower update failed.
update utility has main version 1.30.110.2
and phone has main version 2.10.110.8

So in terms of getting my HTC One S repartioned I need to get hboot 2.16. In terms of getting hboot 2.16 i need my phone S-OFF. In terms of getting my phone S-OFF I need to get Super cid: 11111111. (What kind of absurd adventure is that? seriously!)
So in that very last step of the chain I landed here and while going through this instruction I fail getting permissions:

is your device rooted, you need root to use rumrunner, and maybe close your virus program on you pc.

Yes My device is rooted, I have enabled root for both apps and adb and I also have superSU with the default option to allow root enabled. So I also see in the log, that shell is performing some root-action-stuff.
Windows 7. all Firewalls are off.
