It is my understanding that you should not update to this because it contains the perfect SPL.
The update to the Sense Rom will specifically say so. And again, from what I read, if you choose to do so, it will contain a perfect SPL.

This Update makes the phone useless to custom roms and everything good about the phone.

It's not newer... Thats the SPL that came in the HTC Magics of my country (Chile in South America)...
It can be rooted using the goldcard method, but at least here in Chile, after you use the goldcard the magic looses the 3g, Edge, and any kind of mobile internet connectivity...You can still use wifi)...

I have rooted my htc magic updated radio with perfect engg SPL to flash custom ROMs. Presently i am using my hero 1.1.3 ROM. But now HTC India has released new ROM update with HTC sense. Can i use this official ROM update with out modifying Radio and perfect engg SPL. Please give instructions.

No offence, but there a loads of threads that would answer your question, please use search first!
However, in answer to your question. The official update will leave you with a perfected SPL that there is currently no way to revert. If your looking for HTC Sense then I highly recommend the cursorsense ROM instead of applying the official update.
Also, I believe the India official update doesn't have the market - another reason not to apply it.

I entered the S/N of my Vodafone AU 32B however the webpage said the download is "not available for your device", I assume this is a 32A update.
Any chance of a backport to 32B?
Nobody has been able to download the update, not even the users with 32A. I know cuse i tried
Same here...32A and can't download it. CursorSense uses newer version anyway

If your in the UK, it's most likely you have a Vodafone-branded HTC Magic. MyTouch 3G is the US T-Mobile branding for the HTC Magic.
However, both the MyTouch 3G & the Vodafone HTC Magic have one thing in common - they're both 32B. Trying to use that RUU will brick your phone.
I know what I have. It is the MyTouch 3G branded T-Mobile. I bought it and had it shipped from US.

Hopefully some nice dev will do a 32B port. I guess HTC don't think the 32B with its' decreased amount of RAM is an ideal platform for Sense.
Works Great been running it for a week now.. Rogers in Canada put this update out last week.. Love the Sense UI.. they also upped the Clock speed too..

I can confirm that both 32A and 32B italian (Tim and Vodafone) cannot download (yet) this upgrade. Can someone provide the serial nr. to try to download this ROM and test it on 32A and 32B with brand?

My (Vodafone 32B) S/N isn't working, too.
I'm pretty sure it's 32B only anyway (although it's the official German release and the only Magic you can get here is 32B)

The Sense update is only for 32A. However it would probably installa a perfect SPL, so I suggest you not to install it.
Guys, any help from your side to download?

didnt work for my MyTouch 3G
This ROM should problably be for the Sapphire- without google.
The German Magic are VF Poineer (with google or GEP)- so this SN doesn`t work and also probably the update itself.
In Switzerland and Austria you can get the "without google". these one are the korrekt ones for the download.

I think this is the first HTC Sense update for the 32B platform.
I want to know what radio and spl this contains, even if this probably is just a patched Android 1.5

Allow me to replicate what has been said over at the German forums.
HTC screwed up the serial check on the webpage, so not even the German users are able to download the update. The Germans are freaking out about why they can't download the update. Some have emailed HTC, and HTC isn't sending the file (http://www.android-hilfe.de/htc-magic/16902-htc-sense-rom-fuer-vodafone-verfuegbar.html).
The Germans suspect that this is indeed a Sense UI for the 32B, as it is ROM-Version:2.16.151.3 with a date of Feb 8.
To compare, the 32A Sense UI released by HTC is ROM-Version:3.05.401.3, with a date of Jan 28.
Why the heck would HTC release a newer rom with an older version string?
Also, the 32B German Vodafone Magic is only known to be 32B. See for yourself: http://www.htc.com/de/product/magic/specification.html
The official word from Vodafone is that the update IS LEGIT FOR 32B VODAFONE MAGICs. But it is distributed via OTA via Vodafone this month.
What we do know is that the rom has been cooked by HTC, and it is Sense UI for 32B.

This is old news and a rom based on it was made and you should look around. Compare the specs of the Dream and Magic then try to figure out why the Dream wont be getting this update.

This is not old news. The VF Magic is a 32B and this is the first official Sense UI for the 32B. So far it has only been done for the 32A with a 6 series radio.
This update either contains a Sense UI system image with support for the 3 series radio, or a new 6 series SPL for the 32B board.
I'm not posting this for the Dream. If a mod feels like it they can move this to Magic Dev, but I thought this is the place to talk about 32B Magic work.

I think it is old news, some roms like kings 2.3 say welcome to sapphire.

Is there a ROM that is SenseUI based, and not a HERO ROM?? what ROM are you talking about, I was wondering if there was a port from the 32a updates

The HTC Hero runs the Sense UI which is found on the tatoo and Sapphire or Rogers.The rom from jcarz is based on a Sense rom for Magic so yes, there is a sense rom avail and I think one of MLIGN's roms are based off of a Magic dump.

sometimes the OTA updates take awhile to start up, but I dont think this is old news if this is the official SenseUI update for the 32b boards, might be able to get a dump from it

Non of these ROMs have bt working. And maybe this new upgrade is optimized vor the low ram size

My point was that they all run the Sense UI and the Hero isnt running some special version of it.The only difference is the boot screen that says hero and shows a android moving on the Magic.Tatoo is barely popular and no roms here are based on it cause it was too difficult to port.

and type in your S/N at the bottom you can then upload the update for the DEVs and everyone here, its free from the HTC site

i know the tattoo dump was difficult due to the difference in screen size, but a official update for 32b might be a bit more refined with the SenseUI. I just thought there might be a use for the 32b update the dude above has the right idea it might be optimized for our ph0nes, instead of a huge HERO ROM

you always ramble incorrect information. different phones are running different versions of sense ui. also tattoo was difficult to port because of the resolution. eugene ported it though.
also the tattoo is a donut hero.
