Dear,
I just brought Benq E72 "WM6". Fring connect fine (Text Chat okay) but when I try to make VOIP (Voice Chat), GSM/EDGE signal strength bar disappear, only antenna with x appears and then antenna with o, looks to be start searching for GSM provider.
The phone freeze with WM6 and after upgrading to WM6.1 it behave same but did not freeze.
Any solution?

I also found that some time NO SIM on display when try to initiate voip on fring, then have to switch off and on to normal it.
There must be some thing wrong with fring, any one faced this problem?

If a phonecall comein while i use the Qtek2020 as a wireless mobem for my pc, the call even brakes the gprs-link. I also cannot do an active telephone call while i use the phone as a gprs-modem for the pc. has anybody a good solution for us? Thanks for helping!
xda1 had xmodem what you need to find is a version of that which works on ppc2003 where you find that or if there are other alternativs i dont know
from what i read all phone activity disable grps while it's going on
it's a limit of the gsm std

I know taht the wmodem application is incluuded in the German t-Mobile ROM 4.00.33
If you want to try it, i can upload the files, so that it will be possible to test it.
I don't know either if it workes with other languages than german nor if it works on the XDAII...

wmodem from XDA I won't be a solution - it has the same problems - and may not work on XDA II at all.
wmodem exclusively uses the phone part of your XDA. BUT incomming Calls and SMS are LOST.
Possible Workaround:
before you start "Wireless Modem" try to divert ALL Calls to your Voicebox... Incomming Calls won't drop your GPRS Connection anymore.
divert: *21*06993xxx# (xxx is your ONE-Nr.)
after Closing wmodem:
cancel divert: #21#
Possible Workaround II:
ONE provides SmartSIMs. When I use the wireless modem, I first activate the other Phone (XDA is passive). I can use GPRS from the passive SIM. Incomming Calls and SMS go to the other phone instead....
I know these workarounds are not the best solutions but maybe it helps...

I use qtek 8310 as bluetooh gprs modem from my Pocket PC and from the desktop. Also I use GPRS to check my emails and ICQ directly from Qtek 8310.
1) Even if keyboard is locked (!), RED button breaks the bluetooth link. Small short (!) press breaks the line. I need to redial again after an accident click! This is a bug definitely: the keyboard is locked and the link should not break upon red button. Though it should not break even the keyboard is not locked too...
2) The worst thing... Bluetooth link breaks after any incoming sms, any outcoming or incoming call. I'm not demanding simultaneous GPRS and CALL, as from 3g phone models... But, as a standart de facto (starting from the most old phones with blueetooth and GPRS support, like Ericsson R520 and cheap modern like Motorola L7 SLVR), GPRS has to just suspend during the call, not to break the connection itself or not even break the bluetooth link to client device! This behavior is absolutely unacceptable for such a business-application powerful smartphone as Qtek 8310 for ~~500$.
I cannot even use it from my notebook as Bluetooth-GPRS modem: I often receive SMS and this breaks down my link completely, I need to redial and redial and redial again. Why any cheap phone with bluetooth still CAN keep the connection after any call?
3) This problem is absent when I use GPRS from the smartphone itself. The link keeps after SMS, after call or whatever. This is paradoxal, though good, behavior.
Please, do not ignore my letter. I hope you would fix these bugs, which make your phone totally unusable for business application.

I know there are WM6 devices that can make video call, I'm asking if we put a video call application on our phone is possible to receive incoming call with video? I know our is no a UMTS phone, but it has the EDGE that is a fast connection and I know our phone has no front camera.. but for only incoming call is not a problem.
tell me kings of mobile devices is it possible? (In the end it's only an application )

Basically - No.
Video calling, even receiving, requires a 3G connection. Period.
(Of course, streaming video is another matter...)
ok.. requiring.. but is possible to have a 3G ---TO---> EDGE/WI-FI connection managed by software?
If the answer is no, there is an application that can do video call by VoIP:
example:
windows mobile phone ---> computer (cam)
windows mobile phone ---> home phone (cam)
windows mobile phone ---> windows mobile phone
windows mobile phone ---> 3G phone*
I've seen that skype for mobile don't support videocall.. other ideas?

I've been trying to use wm6 Voip software, and everything works ok until the person I¨m calling answers the phone. Then the call ends/drops.
I'm guessing its something to need to be configured in the ipdialplan.xml file, but I just can't figure out what
If i use fring everything works ok, but because fring doesn't work with my bluetooth headset, I'd need to make wm voip client work.
Any help will be appreciated.
testing a little more I found out that the problem is somehow in the incoming call settings.
I am trying with 2 HTC tytns. If I call from wm voip client to the other wm voip client the call ends as soon as the other end press accept, but if I call from the same wm client to fring then the call comes in with no problem, and it's like this both ways, meaning in both tytns.
Could somebody point me in the right direction to get calls from wm voip to wm voip client working please.

I have seen that still some persons providing newest and best ROMs for Benq E72. Can anyone please resolve issues Fring compatibility with E72????? please please.. I know one of you can....
In my 1st experience initially GSM becomes off when Fring VOIP start. But know with Benq Unlock enable/disable tweak, this solve but another problem start. Fring to Fring VOIP perfect. Fring (SIP) I can not hear caller but my voice can hear by caller.
Strange this never happen with fresh installation and problem start after rebooting Fring.
