TCPMP: Can it play MPEG2 videos on the HD2? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Before I got my HD2 I used TCPMP on the HTC Advantage X7500, which played MPEG2 videos (720x576, ordinary TV/DVD recordings) perfectly. But on the HD2 no version of TCPMP and plugins was able to play those videos.
Has anybody been able to play MPEG2 on the HD2?

same problem!!!!!

Play MPEG2 videos on the HD2
1) HTC HD2 ROM version - 1.66.411.2 (76641) rus.
2) BsB Tweaks v1.5 - power saving in "OFF".
3) TCPMP GF5500 Edition:
- Video - Raw FrameBuffer;
- Video - Quality Low;
- Orientation - Normal.
4) ffmpeg.ARM.cab
5) Soft Reset.
For example:
- video file 1048404 KB, rename vob extention to mpeg and put on the storage card; MPEG2 720*576/25, 6000 kbit/s, mp3 48000 Hz Stereo - 384 kbit/s;
- plug and play.
If problems - then Soft Reset!

Great, it works! THANKS!!!
BTW, is it possible to disable the annoying info dialog at program start??

TCPMP-0.72RC1-GF5500Edition-Alpha4.1
this version is the best with HD2 and FLV VP6V working great put can't play MPEG2 with it
I replace the ffmpeg.plg with the attached one and now I can Play MPEG2 720*576 25 frame without any problem, but can't play FLV VP6V
is there any way to get TCPMP playing MPEG2 and FLV VP6V in the same time
thanks

installed all 3 cabs, still can't play mpeg files on my hd2
What else do I need to do? I installed all the cabs, used fmpeg to open the file I wanted to play, but all that happens, is the video begins but stops, is a green color and my phone freezes up, forcing me to take out the battery and reset it.

playing movies

hi how do i play a divx movie file on my xda2s i have a 1 gig card etc
thanks simon
There is a software called Betaplayer, which might do the trick.
The problem is that Divx has many versions and settings.
You may have to transcode if:
- wrong version
- wrong settings
- to high bitrate
- to high resolution
But Betaplayer is probably the best videoplayer for Pocket PC and guess, it is freeware!
Cheers,
vma
And use DivXencoder to make the avi files the right size 8)
BetaPlayer Rocks!

Playing a certain WMV file - am i asking too much?!

I've been trying to play a particular WMV file and i cant seem to get any player to play it smoothly (tried Coreplayer 1.1.1 and TCPMP 0.81 - various settings, GDI / DirectDraw / RAW Framebuffer etc).
The video itself is 640x480 1448 kbit/s
Would i be right in thinking that the file itself is just too large for 'any' portable player to play it?
Thanks!

You're almost certainly right in your assumption. Have you tried using Media Player? WMV is about the only thing it plays really well, and the ATI Imagion is supported by Media Player too which should help!!!!
Haha awwwwwww poo!
Really cant be bothered to start re-encoding vids to play on my phone... but at least i can stop fiddling around with TCPMP now... i prefer the aesthetics of Coreplayer

video

does any one know how i play video files on x7510,i tryed wmv and mp4 avi they dont work
play these files with coreplayer,nd if there is a sound lag u r observing, then goto coreplayer-preferences-advanced-down in the list there is an option for +/- av offset, set it to -600,also like done with advanced setting, once again goto preferances-video,try to change the video drivers from default ati imageon to other given such as raw frame buffer, gdi etc....enjoy
Use Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter (ver. 5.1.22.0305 or higher) and convert video with profile "BlackBerry MPEG-4 Video (*.mp4)" - set resolution to 320x240 or 352x264 (in "Profile Settings"). It may be appropriate and another converter with BlackBerry mp4 support and with resolution 320x240 or 352x264. This will give the best results for playback of video in standard Windows Media Player in HTC Advantage (I think it use hardware acceleration). Better than CorePlayer or TCPMP!!! Recommended for all! Complete synchronization of video and audio, smooth and excellent quality without lags.
were do i get corplayer or blackberry converter from
http://www.xilisoft.com/3gp-video-converter.html
For example, I was convert the "Matrix" advertising to format for the our WMP (BlackBery, 352x264, 1500 kbps, 24 fps). You can download and view:
http://rapidshare.com/files/211370712/RL_XQ_352x264_1500_112.mp4.html
or
http://rapidshare.de/files/46224820/RL_XQ_352x264_1500_112.mp4.html
(And remember, open only with WMP - in full screen)

core player stuttering while playing avi

hi.. I've just bought a D2 and installed coreplayer. I dun seem to be able to play anything smoothly. Can some one provide their settings for a smooth playback please ? thanx for your help
It's hard to help without having any info about your ROM,Coreplayer version etc. I guess it's a bitrate problem that is just too high. Generally, DIVXs downloaded from internet or DVDRips are meant to be played on PCs and I never managed to play them smoothly directly in Topaz. My solution is to convert (everything is automatic) video files with HTC Touch HD Video Converter. You'll get a smooth and detailed playback on Coreplayer and HTC Album.
My Coreplayer 1.3.0 b.6213 video settings are:
Video output: QTv Display
Video quality: High
Smooth Zoom: On

Question about video playback on the Leo

I saw this video a while back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14iRsFcN1Qs
and noticed that the htc gallery was playing videos. Are all those videos in mp4 format? I thought they were originally AVI and thought that HTC put in DIVX support for the Leo, but on my Leo it's not finding any of my DIVX vids in the album. Any ideas?
Coreplayer works alright, but without graphics drivers it does have a hiccup in the framerate every so often even with the might of snapdragon.
HTC's albums have never played DIVX I'm afraid.
The ones in the album are probably MP4 or 3GP files.
Search for a utility called MP4forHD which someone on here made - it converts anything to MP4 - specifically for the Touch HD (which is the same resolution as the HD2).
Works a treat, and wasn't laggy on the HD - so I imagine it'll be better on the HD2
Yea guess I was just fooled by the DIVX watermark on some of the videos that were played in the link i posted. I thought I read somewhere that the HD2 played DIVX videos natively, but oh well.
Coreplayer is playing fine for me now - no skips once I increased the video and audio buffers (2048/512 I think).
Core Player
On my HD I could play AVI files using Core Player, on the HD2 the same files play the audio but the viseo is:
1. In small screen very "liney" and doubled, 2 images side by side.
2. In full screen the screen is blank.
Any ideas?

Now Coreplayer works for me. Thanks for settings
I did the test and played the same movie:
- in Avi with CorePlayer,
- in mp4 AVC with the HTC album
And there is absolutely no comparison. The Mp4 played through the HTC album viewer is far better, thanks to the hardware acceleration and the Snapdragon processor.
I uninstalled CorePlayer, and convert all my .avi movies with XDA HD Encoder, or directly with Xilisoft Ultimate.
