Hi All,
I have been learning Android programming.
Because I am traveling a lot due work my first program is MissionDroid to keep easier track of my mission events and locations.
Idea is to create mission and under that you can create events. Time and location information is captured from phone and you can add additioval note.
Currently application is available only from page:
from sites.google.com/site/missiondroid.
I will put it into Adnroid Market if it is stable enough.
I have tested it only with HTC Hero.
Please feel free to comment!
I have released now version 0.1.1 and it is also available from Android Market

Hi everyone,
I have just released a free app named TestYou. What is it? An app that offers cute and fun tests to discover new sides of your personality and test your knowledge on a particular topic.
Now is available the Beauty&Wellness test suit, shortly we’ll release many more tests on various topics (we anticipate that they are gonna be about Sports, Fashion&Shopping, Music, Movies and much more).
How clever are you?
TestYou is the test app which has two or more questionnaires for suite on a topic you want to check your training about. Each test consists of 6 questions drawn randomly from a large database, to give every time different pools. At the end of the test your profile will be displayed: if you are not satisfied redo it and find new results!
TestYou:
• is multilanguage (ita – eng)
• has an intuitive and friendly GUI
• is optimized for the last generation devices such as Samsung Galaxy S II
You can find TestYou on Android Market and SlideMe, shortly on GetJar and Mobyhand.
Enjoy it and Merry Christmas!!!
I can't find it?
Hi
A bit about me:
I've just started uni to do software engineering and after the first week of "bonding" and stuff, we've been put into groups of 6 to develop an android app and market it. We're students of the Preston campus of the university of central Lancashire aged 18. My group has next to no programming experience, with only me having done anything before although it's mostly been python, I also did some C++.
I've been on XDA for a few years, since I got my first android (a HTC Desire HD, now on a galaxy note) and have mostly been a lurker, not really saying a huge amount because I don't want to get in the way of developers and annoy people, but also because I don't know a huge amount about android, although I have provided some logcats and advice where I knew the answer and could help. I often also use alpha or beta releases as a daily driver as I just text a little and love fiddling with the android operating system.
Our task:
Our first task as a group is to create a android based quiz-type app that will eventually double up as a GPS located treasure hunt app. We have to build this in appinventor as few of us know a programming language and it's a good introduction in how a program is built up and the logic behind it. The app is built up over a few weeks, as we learn how to do different things. It starts as a quiz app with hard coded questions, then we have to develop it into a quiz app that uses a server to get questions and finally into a treasure hunt that uses GPS locations and questions to lead us around the city of Preston to get points.
All throughout the 4 weeks we have to do it, we gain points which transfer into the grade we will get for this module of the course.
The catch:
During these 4 weeks, we have to market our app and our brand, to try "sell" our app and get it out there. As I'm the programmer of the group, mainly building the app, I'm not so involved in this process but I thought I'd ask on here for feedback and to ask you to help us out.
What I'm asking:
So, please will you go follow us on twitter and retweet us, spread the word on facebook about us and our app and (when it finally gets put up) view our "viral" YouTube video.
Go to our website if you want to download our app and have a look, any feedback would be fantastic, thanks. It won't be up for a few days, but if you can please follow us on twitter and facebook for now and when it's uploaded we'll update everyone.

Hello everyone!
We have released pressureNET 2.1 and are excited to hear your feedback. The app is mostly only useful on devices with barometers, such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy SIII and Xoom, but all Android 3.0+ devices can run it. We've built a worldwide network of atmospheric pressure measurements and have collected more than 8 million so far. We hope to use the data in order to improve short-term, local weather prediction. If you check out our blog below, you can see a teaser of the incredible resolution we have for events like Hurricane Sandy.
The new update brings important bugfixes and a new UI along with the announcement that we're going to be releasing a fantastic tool within a few days that lets you view all of the data on the web.
You can download pressureNET from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.cumulonimbus.barometernetwork
And see the source code for the app at https://github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNET and for the server https://github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNETServer
And if you're looking for more details, check out our blog entry at www.cumulonimbus.ca/pressurenet-2-1/
Thanks and have a nice day!
We have just released our first Data Visualization tool for pressureNET. This is also open source (github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNETAnalysis) and it lets you view the data that we're collecting.
Until now, it was very difficult for our users to know what kind and what quality of data we were gathering. Now you can go to http://pndv.cumulonimbus.ca and view our archive over the last year. The page shows a couple of datepickers and a google map as controls: move the map around, change the dates and watch the graph load. You'll see a plot of all atmospheric pressure measurements we've collected during the timeframe you specified and within the latitude/longitude grid visible on your map selection.
We are working now with atmospheric scientists to make use of this data in the best way we can. Our primary goal is to improve the state of weather prediction for everyone, especially smartphone users .
Enjoy! And if you have feedback, please let me know. We are working every day (especially during the holidays, since this is all done in our free time) to build the best products we can. Thanks again for your time.
Another quick update for the XDA community: We were recently featured in Wired Magazine!

Hi everyone
we released a new app discovery tool called Frappè. You can get it at frappe.cc or on Google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.tid.frappe
It is based on new Machine Learning technology that tries to learn what apps you might find interesting based on the apps you have installed and use. We believe that this will make it stand out in the rather crowded field of app recommenders.
We try to tailor the recommendations based on the current context like time of the day, location etc. We are also planning some nice features for the coming release so stay tuned.
Try it out and let us know what you think of Frappè
Forgot to mention it's free and ad free,
cheers
the Frappè team
Hello everyone, it's been a while since my last post here. But today I'm presenting to you my last app, Rand-O-Pizza.
Rand-O-Pizza allows you to choose a pizza flavour from a big database in a very funny way, of course there's the possibility to filter the random pizzas by their ingredients (include or exclude). There is also a history function to keep track of the already eaten pizzas so they won't come out again if you check the option.
Here's the link
A lot of functions and ideas are still in my head so keep the app up to date!
Rand-O-Pizza is now Live!
up!
