[APP 3.0+] pressureNET 2.1 is released: open source Android barometer network - Android Apps and Games

Hello everyone!
We have released pressureNET 2.1 and are excited to hear your feedback. The app is mostly only useful on devices with barometers, such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy SIII and Xoom, but all Android 3.0+ devices can run it. We've built a worldwide network of atmospheric pressure measurements and have collected more than 8 million so far. We hope to use the data in order to improve short-term, local weather prediction. If you check out our blog below, you can see a teaser of the incredible resolution we have for events like Hurricane Sandy.
The new update brings important bugfixes and a new UI along with the announcement that we're going to be releasing a fantastic tool within a few days that lets you view all of the data on the web.
You can download pressureNET from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.cumulonimbus.barometernetwork
And see the source code for the app at https://github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNET and for the server https://github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNETServer
And if you're looking for more details, check out our blog entry at www.cumulonimbus.ca/pressurenet-2-1/
Thanks and have a nice day!

We have just released our first Data Visualization tool for pressureNET. This is also open source (github.com/JacobSheehy/pressureNETAnalysis) and it lets you view the data that we're collecting.
Until now, it was very difficult for our users to know what kind and what quality of data we were gathering. Now you can go to http://pndv.cumulonimbus.ca and view our archive over the last year. The page shows a couple of datepickers and a google map as controls: move the map around, change the dates and watch the graph load. You'll see a plot of all atmospheric pressure measurements we've collected during the timeframe you specified and within the latitude/longitude grid visible on your map selection.
We are working now with atmospheric scientists to make use of this data in the best way we can. Our primary goal is to improve the state of weather prediction for everyone, especially smartphone users .
Enjoy! And if you have feedback, please let me know. We are working every day (especially during the holidays, since this is all done in our free time) to build the best products we can. Thanks again for your time.

Another quick update for the XDA community: We were recently featured in Wired Magazine!

Andlytics - Developer Console

Hey guys,
I'm not the dev for this one, but it seems like an interesting app to show application analytics from data available in the developer console.
Would be interested to know who's using it/how accurate people are finding it.
Here is the appbrain link:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/andlytics/de.betaapps.andlytics
Cheers,
Daz.
It literally uses your developer console it just hides that via page scraping. Its pretty slick though, however, it does have some draw backs such as you can only see comments in your language, right now it has issues seeing more than 9 apps according to the comments, and if you want to track comparisons between your app and apps from other developers this has no way to provide that for you.
Overall its definitely a solid app right now.

It does more than simply screen scrape the developer console. It saves HISTORICAL data. That means it shows you day on day changes in downloads, ratings, and active installs.
Anyway, it's working well for me, and highlighted that someone has spammed my app with 20 1 Star ratings in a single day!
Well yes but thats not how it works thats just what it does with the data after its retrieved. Sorry for the confusion. ;-)
Get notified on every sale via Google Payment/Wallet for your apps or games!
(Sorry about posting here, all other apps are dead, mine is the only working one!)
New Google Payments Page is NOW supported (formerly Google Wallet/Checkout)!
Get notified on new sales from Google publisher/developer page.
Check out your application sales or other products. Trends, pie chart, daily/weekly/monthly summary and much more!
You can filter your results by product, date and country.
These filters can be combined in the diagrammes and order overview!
You have to login with your Google account.
Hint: The initial loading could take some minutes (depending of your order count)!
Further updates fetch only new orders and are very fast. Maybe you have to click manually on the top refresh button for the first time.
Functions:
■ Chronological overview of your sells order by product
■ Pie chart: Sales by products
■ Pie chart: Sales by country
■ Pie chart: Status of sales
■ Bar chart: Sales per weekday
■ Bar chart: Sales per hour
■ New Homescreen widget (> Android 3.x) for today sales added (works also for lockscreen!)
Old merchant accounts are also supported.
Thanks devs for your good feedback!

[APP][3.0+] pressureNET: a barometer network for Android phones and tablets

Hello everyone!
I've just built and released pressureNET 2.0, an app that collects user-submitted barometer readings with hopes that I'll be able to use the data to improve short-term, local weather prediction and eventually give users a personalized, 30-minute-range weather forecast. While only the Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Xoom have barometers, all Android devices 3.0+ can run the app and view the map.
Currently we attempt minimal interpretation of the data since we have only about 1,200 active users. However, as we grow our user base we will overlay useful weather information on the map, such as changes in atmospheric pressure over time. This can be correlated with radar imagery to provide improved weather forecasting.
The source code for both the Android app and the server side is on our blog at cumulonimbus.ca. Thanks,
Jacob
Cumulonimbus
Testing now....
I am downloading it now to check it out.
This app is pretty dang cool!! There are a lot more devices with a barometer now. Galaxy Nexus is one of them. Everyone who has a Galaxy Nexus should download this. Once it gets big enough cool things are going to happen from it I'm sure!
The OP has asked me to post the market link:
https://market.android.com/details?id=ca.cumulonimbus.barometernetwork
and his blog post announcing the 2.0 release:
http://www.cumulonimbus.ca/announcing-pressurenet-2/
"Children guessed (but only a few) and down they forgot as up they grew." - e. e. cummings
Hi everyone,
I want to update you quickly: we are now receiving almost 500 barometer readings per hour from our users, which means we have grown massively since the launch of 1.0 and even since the 2.0 launch. For some perspective, just two weeks ago we were receiving only 80 per hour.
We really want to grow this to be a large network that will enable us to improve short term weather prediction as well as contribute to collecting global climate data. And so, pressureNET 2.0 has a whole bunch of new features:
- My Info button to show personalized statistics and your recent submission graph
- Log Viewer to see your last day’s worth of submissions
- Pressure tendencies viewable on the widget
- Export user data now available in CSV
- Multiple UI improvements and fixes, including a fully revamped widget
You can read more in the blog post and download the app from the link 0vermind posted above. Thanks!
Jacob

[APP] [FREE] Weather Online – The world’s local weather

Hello everybody,
Today I would like to introduce you my weather application (Weather Online) that I'm developing since eight months in my free time. The idea of such an application came from a personal need to know the detailed weather over several days to a specific point anywhere in the world.
Indeed, in addition to accurate weather for a specific point, such an application can be very useful when you want to go on weekend or holiday, by giving us an idea about the kind of clothes to take or outright if it is not better to cancel the stay, etc., and thus avoid surprises once there.
The main features:
• Detailed 9 days forecasts (morning / afternoon / evening / night)
• Temperatures and also feels like temperatures, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, cloud cover, precipitation levels, humidity and fog
• Sunrise and sunset
• Sunrise and moonset and moon phases
• Different ways to search and add cities to your favorites list
If you wish, you can go to the Google Play Store to get more details on my application, and then install it on your Android phone.
Don't be afraid, it's FREE!

If you find any errors, defects, dysfunctions, or even if you see some interesting improvements that could be useful, don't hesitate to let me know on the forum or contact me at my email address [email protected]
I thank you for your participation in helping me in improving my project, or even to give me your first impressions, and also if my application can serve you, I'd be happier yet.
PS1: If you like the application, please feel free to share it with your friends, or even to rate it with 5 stars
PS2: New features are currently under development and will soon be available.

previous games from historical data
current form and fitness
general motivation to win within the team
missing players and injuries
weather conditions
