Anyone know if the Maple/Snap will be able to be updated to WM 6.5.3 ROM ? I heard some phones are getting that release. Also have realised something about the official 6.5 ROM for the Maple : it's WM 6.5 standard and not professional. At first I thought the difference was only in touchscreens / non-touchscreens, but there are some other differences for exemple the Office Mobile delivered with 6.5 standard is version 6.1 and does not support copy/paste, what a shame.

you can use doctogo app as a alternative for
ms office mobile.

where did you get that info?
evo cooked rom support french keyboard layout for sure,
after flashing with that rom, choose keymap config, and choose 4 for french keyboard, restart your phone..and voilaa..you get your french key back

Thanks, but it's the whole ROM that I want in french, not just the keyboard. Is there a way to get ookba's ROM translated to french ? If he could send me a language file, I'd be glad to translate it to french.

I like to use my PDA as phone, gps, IE and run a lot of reference applications off the SD card. In view of this should I consider swapping the ROM (cooking?)

if it is xda/o2 branded, then yes.
their roms are horribly slow and don't include anything you can't get elsewhere imo
Yes it is o2 branded, but I'm running it on Orange, can you suggest which ROM? I agree it is very slow compared to my Mini S, but it's thinner and lighter, so not all bad!!

sorry, i have no idea which rom to flash, i don't even know if there are any custom artemis roms, so check in that forum if you haven't already. if none exist, i would check all the sites which sell it rebranded, t-mobile/dopod etc. but they probably won't have any if there are no upgrades.
No ROMs as of now..do not flash any ROM on Orbit or u will lose it...

you should get a CID unlock first from imei-check.co.uk
but I would not upgrade anything till O2 release a rom for the Orbit cause you wont have anything to fall back on otherwise.
BTW the O2 rom for the Orbit is not that bad its a lot lighter then the last few releases of O2 software.

It is standart-vodafone-dialer. I've it on my wm6 vodafone v1615(kaiser).

On german vodafone kaiser is it a default dialer. It is possible that vodafone uses other dialer in USA or other countries.

recently, I installed Dutty's 2k8 Rom and its excellent, but just a bit problem with SIP.
I want to use other SIP software for inputing other language. After installed, the virtual keyboard of that SIP software cannot slid out and if I use real keyboard, the output from keyboard is still english character. I think it might have some conflicts with this ROM?
I even tried about 4 or 5 third-party's SIP software, not working either.
Does anyone have similar problem? Can you share the experience?
I dont really want to give up Dutty's ROM but other language input is a very important feature for me.

BTW: anyone knows how to uninstall PCM keyboard completely. Cus I uninstalled PCM cab, but the option is still there and the skin of the PCM keyboard is gone. I cannot get rid of it.

i may be way off but i found after my latest rom flash i had the old windows c.e volume panel but huge !! so played about with a few reg settings, ill be honest i cant remember the default values
these are the keys i messed about with and i have the volume control back.
theres a post with the reg key changes in the post for ' brians black taskbar icon set ' and thats in this section somewhere.

In the ROM section, ROM with nothing changed in, with just added WM 6.5.5 not present.
In every custom ROM is more changes than just WM 6.5 to WM 6.5.5.
And I guess above is question, how just add new WM to pfone without changing nothing else in stock ROM
