Hey yall...
After i intalled the 1.66 rom from HTC, no (wifi standby killer) tweak has been working for me.
Tried HD2Tweak and BsB Tweaks, none of them is killing the wifi standby.
Can some cool, kick azz kinda dude fix a single, none app cab, for this single tweak?
And ofcause, working with 1.66 rom.

Hello,
i recently installed the htc custom rom (1.25.405) on my device. after install all was great, but after some time i began having trouble enabling the wifi from comm manager. whenever i press the wifi tab in the comm manger wifi keeps staying off. i had the same problem on my wizard and there the solution was enabling the wifi preload from the registry (HKLM->Comm->TNETWLN1->Parms). these string dont exist on the cruise.
does anyone know of a fix to this problem or how to enable the wifi preload on the cruise ?

thanks for your replay. tried looking there already.
usually there were two strings needed changing:
HTCPreloadStatus-->dword, decimal 1 (standard 0)
PreloadWifi-->dword, decimal 1 (standard 0)
cant seem to find the equivalent inside \TNETW12511\parms.
Soulution found:
HKLM\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms\HTCPowermode=1
Seems like i spoke too soon. the wifi problem was resolved for a while and then came back.
i flashed the black widow skinny v.2.5 rom and again the wifi worked for a while until it stopped enabling (when i press the wifi button in the comm manager it will turn on and immediatly off). i tried flashing the bepe 0.65 rom and even the latest radio rom (1.58.25.14) but nothing helps.
does anybody have an idea ?????
Hi, I have the same problem; wifi is always disabled.
I tried to modify the key:
HKLM\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms\HTCPowermode=1
and it seems to work ... but after only 10 minutes, I tried, it is still disabled.
When I click on Comm.Manager to able Wifi, it load a few seconds and after it is still off.
ROM is 1.24.408.1 ITA, original.
Radio is 1.58.21.23, original.

Yep, I had the very same problem from the beginning until I installed Bepe's Rom v.64. Then I installed Goodlink for work and that ruined it again.
Sounds to me like some software conflicts somewhere that need to get fixed...
Anyway, you can try Bepe's latest ROM. Just don't install that piece of rubbish called Goodlink.
Well it seems that it is indeed a program conflict, i have tried to disable each process running until i found the culprit, it was the Pocket controller loader, after disabling it wifi would disable without any problems, lets see how lost this will last...
would installling WMWifiRouter stuff up the wifi. I have a stock polaris and havent upgraded the rom. Wifi was working fine, even after I installed WMWifiRouter. Then after about a couple of weeks, wifi just would not come on at all. But strangely, then i tried to fire up the WMWifiRouter, it would go up to a point past saying "WLAN on" and then stop at "Waiting for ICS".
In the end, I had to hard reset but have been afraid to re install WMWifiRouter. I was using a .92 version i think but now it's payware and I havent got the new one either.

it seems to be a program conflict try to find the program that causes it by enabling the running program processes on your pda.

Try to uncheck Watchdog in Performance tool, and set clock to 520.

i agree...
if this doesnt work...check your installed programs...for example...try this...
i formatted the uni and before installing any software i turned the wifi on...it worked...but after i installed the ARABIZER (to enable arabic language) it didnt work again...
maybe our problems are a bit different but try it...
i think its the radio... try using another version. i have 1.15.00 and i have problems like that.
I just tried installing fring on a factory unlocked Vox and apart from the minor annoyances of it hijacking the home screen and dumping itself in the startup folder there was one big problem -- fring killed my wifi connection!
Fring could not enable wifi itself, so I tried enabling it through comm manager but the wifi connection just vanished after a few seconds and all my wlan settings disappeared. In addition, the wifi plugin status on the homescreen disappeared. I had to uninstall fring and do a soft reset to get it working again.
Anyone else have this problem or know what might be going on?
Same thing happened to me... I could not get the wifi to work again. had to uninstall fring and that was the only way it would work again.
Good to know I'm not alone. Anyone know what went wrong? There seem to be some happy fring-using Vox owners out from what I've read. FYI, my problems were with the Jan-08 ROM.
I use fring on my vox with no problems at all.
which rom exactly are you using? HTC or cooked?

I haven´t any problem with wifi on Ranju v7.7.
reinstall the ROM.
Actually that happened with every wm6 roms I have put in the past.
For example ranju's v7,6.
Do you think that this happens because I have the sdhc driver enabled?
Hello again.
I did some research on my Universal and found out that my device doesn't recognise the wifi module.
I ran the IPer, clicked on adapter info and there is nothing there! (Maybe that's because I can't switch the wifi on. I don't know)
Then, I ran wififofum and there is nothing as a device..
Can anyone please tell me what to do? Please, I'm desperate!!!!!!!
Is there any chance that you are using the Battery Status plug-in? I've experienced exactly the same problem (can't switch WiFi on) with both versions 1.04 & 1.05. If yes, just try to uninstall it.
Unfortunately I'm not using this plugin..
The only today plugins I'm using is the HTC Home VGA, Resco today and SMB GPRS Monitor.
I also do not use the overclocking application embedded with the ROM and I have the watchdog disabled.
Any other clues??? Please...
i have the exact same problem, with every wm6 i installed, now i tried the 6.1 and thats no good, my pda is useless without wifi

I can sometimes switch WLAN on, after the "switching on" time, I turn my Universal off, then on, and WLAN works.
I have the same problem. It started with Tomal's 8.2 ROM and I think it could be when I started using SDHC. Another thing happens to me is that even if, in Stenigs-->System, the Performance is set to 624Mhz, when I test it with CPUID.exe the processor is working at 520Mhz.
Has anyone tryed to downgrade to WM5?
I've read that somthing may be erased in the UNI EEPROM that is not reinstalled with ROMs. But I've "no idea" about it.
a lot of ROMs has affect by WiFi issue when You protect with WPA PSK. Please search for thread : WiFi WPA-PSK Workaround and BubbleFix Service (CAB and OEM) - STABLE ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page) and install the cab. WiFi will run perfectly
Thanks for your help but my problem is that the wlan doesn't turn the WIRELESS LAN on, not the ecryption used. Without wifi, the Universal is just a very BIG cell.
I've even tried this WIFIService.cab but it hasn't solved the problem.

in my 6.1 rom is the same. Only in 6.0 rom, and clean 6.1 is ok.
You have to change the power mode to automatic. But in the 6.5 ROMs, HTC's Wifi settings don't work, so you can't do that from the settings. I'll see if I can post a CAB for you!
