[APP] Resco Explorer 2010 (released jan26) - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

http://www.resco.net/company/press/releases/2010-01-26.htm
in this link from TOMORROW )), you can read that one of the best explorers for WM is going to be released. Or is released. Or...

Yea, I've been running the beta for a while...it's very finger friendly

Anyway to assign the resco task manager (used in the today plugin) to shortcut or hardware button ? It would be great !

+1, it looks very good on the screenshot!
Wish we could use it with the press of a quick link in HTC sense

Yep, will be fine. I'm sure some skilled user can tell us where we can find the shortcut, or how create it.

Today is the day....waiting

Right now i've mapped the SPB MSH task manager to a HW key. But i'd like to try that one too!

This should be relatively easy if the task manager is a standalone application. I dont know if it is because I havent installed it yet. But someone of you who has the new program installed could search his sytem for a exe file that runs the manager. If such an exe exists in the system, all you have to do is to create a shortcut with .lnk extension to that exe file and place the shortcut in the Windows folder and rename it to "long_send.lnk" or "long_end.lnk". After that it should open after long pressing of the send key or end key

The news aren't any longer on the website! Finally resco maybe decided to release it later!?

I also prefer TotalCommander as I use it on my PC since years. But is there any chance to get it more finger-friendly? I've seen that the most recent beta which is recommended for 6.5 still has the old UI.

download available now i think!

It's not working so well for me. Scrolling is unresponsive at times, it's slow to navigate between pages and the 'Rename' option from the 'File' menu doesn't work at all
I'm back to the 2008 version.

A point which nobody seems to have mentioned: This program costs $30! The demo is restricted to 7 days and, like all of their products, the full price isn't even shown on the page :/ You have to add it to the cart to see how much it is.
The competition (ie. Total Commander) is totally free. If you enable large icons in TotalCommander then it's just as finger friendly and also has its own advantages..

The taskmanager (RTask.exe) is indeed a standalone program and is located in "Program Files\Resco Today Plugin.

If you have the registered version 2008 and install version 2010 Resco license expires in 30 days instead of 7 which gives a clean installation

Total Commander

Is there a version of Total Commander suitable for HD2?
I see there are beta versions on the Ghisler website and these are suggested for winmo 6.5 but I don't know which one I need (ie they are for different kinds of cpu but it's not like it lists snapdragon?).
Thanks if you can confirm. I hate built in explorer as it doesn't let you drag the column sizes to see full file names and doesn't show file extension etc.
Thanks!

Problems with Resco explorer 2010 v8.00

Hi
I've just loaded the above application onto my HTC HD2. The main explorer component works as well as ever, but I can't seem to be able to utilize the Resco Today plug in and although the Resco Task Manager appears in the program menu, I can't get it to close applications down in the usual way.
Does anyone know if the above issues are a function of the HTC sence platform, or are they resolvable.
May thanks

What did you do to install resco explorer? (Did you use a .cab? or the .exe file found at their website?)
When you're in Resco Explorer, press "Menu" > Options > Add-ins.
Don't you get a message there like "download resco today now"? (if so, you didn't install it )

Better and more advanced search program?

Hey,
I'm looking for a more advanced search program than the standard wm 6.5 one.
When i'm looking for a song, most times the standard app can't even find it.
And the search function in Resco Explorer only searches from the beginning of the name.. So when i am looking for a song then i must start with the artist and i need every '-' en stuff on the right place.. Not very handy
Anyone?

actually, Resco file explorer have been supporting wildcards for years - at least it does it in v5.35. Use e.g. *substring*.*, works just great.
I don't understand you..
Example.. i want to search for Linkin Park - Numb
When i click on the little magnifier glass in the top right corner, and i typ Numb.. i get 'No matches:'
Because i have to start with linkin park..
And i have to be in the folder the song is in,
I need something like the windows vista / 7 start menu search function thing.
You type something, and you get direct results of files stored on the whole pc.

Try searching for *explorer* (with the asterisks, of course) under Menu / Find.

How do i select multiple files in WinMo 6.5?

This has being bugging me for some time now
It was very easy in WinMo 6.1 but now dragging with the stylus actually scrolls up and down but does not let me select multiple files
Is there anyway that i can select multiple sequential or random files, of course using the File Explorer
My HTC Touch2 does not have a keyboard with the ctrl key
And i know i can use a 3rd party software but is selecting multiple files really thrown out of a newer version of WinMo?? :S

Thanx a lot my friend
Not to sound rude but I already know about Total Commander and installed it
My question is why Microsoft dumped a VERY VERY important feature in its File Explorer in a NEWER version of it's mobile operating system :S
That kinda sux, doesn't it ?
Hey there,
They havent dumped it just that you have to do it a different way now.
If ur in text messaging for example, click menu, options then select all/several then do what you want. Same kinda thing applies to file exp, email etc.
Remember 6.5 is supposed to be more finger friendly hence selecting this way avoids slips of the finger lol.
You'll get used to it
Cheers.

Sorry currently not. But this feature is scheduled on the next release to support. Normally we will deliver a new release to our users on every weekend.
Getting better and better.
I discover File Expert couple of months ago. By far my favorite. I don't even look for an alternative by now.
Great job guys.

Okay guys, I'm going to give a testimony.
I've used Astro, ES, Linda and then this. This is a COMPLETE package. I love how I can grab some files from my laptop wirelessly, have root access, and have a beautiful file manager all at once. This has been the best file manager I've ever used, and I highly recommend it.

Hi,
thank you for recommending FE! We think it's time to change, Astro and ES are good app but we think we can provide more useful and powerful alternative.
Amazing app, I switched a couple weeks ago. I put in feature requests on your forum, mainly for a refresh button for the toolbar.
Some other things that would be nice:
more archive support (7z for example)
And the 'download any file from the browser's feature astro has.
I use FE primarily, but because it lacks 7z support and the browser download feature I am forced to keep two other file managers handy.
Anyway this app is still superior to all other file managers, keep up the good work!
This is a really cool app. One request:
Option to show Toolbar only when at least one item is checked, or by pressing Menu while at least one item is checked.
Also, for some reason it takes a while (around 1 full second) for the Operation menu to show after I click on the button. Should it take this long?
I'm totally trying it!!!! As soon as I get home

No, it's not. I have tested the popup speed when touching the Oper button on various phones and tablets, all of them shows the menu immediately. I cannot feel any delay.
