Touch Pro tweaked graphics - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hey, guys,
Should your TP have this symptom? at about 1/5 of the display location, at the bottom side, TP display would be tweaked graphics sometimes. I don't know why, there are a last interface's shadow under new interface. or the other interface's font under new interface, it seems teacher write something on not clean blackboard with chalk. should you have any solution ? thanks.

what rom are you using? i have similar symptoms sometimes when using the phone feature - the bottom parts gets distorted, esp. in landscape mode. i have tael's rom.

HI,thanks for your answer, Yup, esp. in landscape mode. en ,every ROM revision I used has this kind of symptom, I suppose this is Touch Pro's hardware problem ?! so I am looking for a software which can fix it. what do you think about this topic ? thanks.

Hello,
I have the same problem. I think the image is there
burned. This happens when the screen long time the same
displays. A Screensaver helps. I just do not know how do you get one
Pietboxer
PS: I hope my English is understandable. I am from Germany

Yea I have that too...and I had it ever since I started flashing NRG roms. I got used to it already but sometimes it still gets annoying. Soon I might order a new screen and digitizer (ver scratched up) so then I'll post back here.

Oh, yup, thanks for all guys to discuss this topic, and that is what I am looking for away out this trap long long ago, that is uncomfortable as I look at that area. Nonce I I don't think there are a debug software to fix it.
I don't know what HTC said. I think I am not the first guy to feedback this problem.

Please read.....

I am currently having a problem with my Uni, it doesn`t appear straight away (after flashing new ROM etc) but instead only appears after i load certain software.
Whats happening...
I am constantly having to re-align the screen, the digitiser can change from one moment to the next, something as simple as changing the orientation of the screen can throw it out of position, its driving me mad
The Programs....
Tomtom 6, Noviiremote deluxe and the new HTC audio manager, these seem to be the cause as far as i can tell.
Is this because they are a different/Greater resolution than the rest of the software (True VGA?), something the uni isn`t designed to accept. Is there a fix/patch that i am missing, or, lastly, is my Uni on tis way out
I am currently using Laurentius26 WM6 Bus Pro RV5 ROM.
Your thoughts would be more than welcome.
NoviiRemote ot of the question, I have it, I use it, I have no problems with it(on WM5, though...).
Of the othe two, I can make no comments...
If you use programs on WM5 you can't compare it with WM6.
You can trie to install one program at the time to see wich program causes the problem.
It's also handy to report your problem to the builder of the rom you're using.
I know that Laurentius always replies on questions and problems with his ROM.
sounds like a hardware problem
i had the exact same thing happen with my HP iPAQ a couple years back.. they replaced the screen under warranty.
try rubbing the screen down with your thumb as if you're trying to align it.. see if that makes any difference.
it did with the iPAQ, but then again the display composition may be different on those two..

seems to happen with all three, i`ve tried loading them independantly but i get the same result....
i also tried going back to WM5, the official O2 ROM, same problem...

With-out any of the above programs installed, the fault isn`t present so far (insert smillie of guy frantically crossing fingers) which leads me to believe that the fault isn`t hardware related.

give it a couple of weeks without installing the software to be sure.
Not sure i can wait that long, one of the main selling points/reason for not upgrading the Uni is its versatility, its ability to constantly re-invent itself, i just can`t get bored with it.
There is always some-thing new to add/change (WM6)(thanks to this forum), it just never gets old.
I love this phone.....
Been running now for a couple of days with-out any Hi-res apps, and the digitizer problems have not happened again.?????
Any-one have any idea why Hi-res apps would be causing me problems.
I`ve been doing some research on the forum and i can honestly say I`m still confused.
The closest i`ve gotten to an explanation is the difference between VGA and qVGA....
i.e
The Output/Display part of the screen for the mentioned programs is VGA and the Input/Digitizer part is qVGA.
i`m guessing at this point, but according to other threads, if you try to run VGA apps without the correct dlls for the digitizer, you get pretty much the same problem i`ve been getting, you think you are pressing on one part of the screen but the uni thinks differently.... something to do with dpi.

Weird (Repeating) Hardware Problem

I am having a very weird, and oddly repeating hardware problem with my HTC TP.
My original one started having this problem about 3 months after I bought it. The problem had two aspects - the screen appears as if the LCD material in it has moved or changed format (see image below) - and the touch function of it became problematic, often identifying the press in the wrong location.
I gave it to the vendor during warranty, and after some issues with the lab was offered a new device (it was indeed brand new, battery date indicated that). The new device - after less than a month - started having the exact same problem! (I'm giving it for repair tomorrow)
Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is this just a streak of bad luck? or am I doing anything bad to my devices? As far as I know - I'm not doing anything bad to them - the 2nd one was so short with me it haven't even dropped once. And before that I had a imate KJAM for 2.5 years without such problems.
Ideas?
It looks like too much pressure was applied to the LCD screen.
it is odd though - especially as it occured in such a short time on my new device, and I have not done anything especially bad to it
it definitely has the "feel" of a pressed LCD, but this is during rest. btw - in both times it was just the center area, and both cases a very similar size problem.
the only type of pressure I can think of is when it is in my pocket, but comeon, I am quite positive HTC did not design a device that can not withstand being in a pocket.....
it's a random defect that some screens get
and also a sign of worse things to come I believe
had a friend who bought a new one and it already had
it when it got it he of cause sendt it back
so I just coincidently got two of them ?!
That's quite jinxy
anyway - got today back my first phone, repaired (screen replaced).
Let's hope this doesn't re-appear.
Ofer.
sorry a little off the mark

LCD Ghosting/Burn In when using Custom Roms

I recently had a problem with my 1st Touch Pro with image ghosting/ burn in and ive just had it replaced. Now the same problem is happening with the new device. The problem only seams to happen with custom roms being used on the device. If i re-flash my phone back to the default/stock rom i get no screen problems at all.
Any idea why this only happens on custom roms and not the default/stock rom??
edit: ive attached an example of what i mean in image ghosting/burn in. Just in case some people wasn't sure what i meant by it.
More info?
Heya! What was the last ROM you had this problem with? Version info would be extremely helpful as I have heard that specific builds have some graphics bugs.
I've had that same issue as well on 2 different fuze's. Using various builds of EnergyROMs... However, after reflashing to stock and using it awhile, I'd get the ghosting on that too.
Anyone have any ideas?
Ehh my 2nd Fuze is doing this so I'm getting a replacement, and I'll just do the HTC ROM upgrade and keep WM6.1. I'm tired of it, and the landscape view also distorts the start menu icons 90% of the time.
Having flashed back to a stock rom, doing a hard reset... Playing with it for awhile... The ghosting is evident on it as well... I've also had where the bottom section of the screen will flicker quickly...
Anyone else?
I think it's a hardware defect. My first phone did that, and then after a few weeks, I had to get a warranty replacement because the screen eventually went completely black after doing it intermittently).
I've had both ghosting effects & occasional rapid flickering since I first bought the Fuze back in November. It's intermittent but happens most when the device is hot (either from use or simply being in a hot location). So far it always clears up after a while. This happened on the stock rom and every custom rom I've used so far.
I'm fairly certain it's a hardware issue with the Fuze/TP because the ghost will tend to remain there for a while even after a soft reset.
Hopefully my good fortune continues and it doesn't end up breaking permanently some day.
it is definitely a hardware issue.
I just received a "repaired" phone back from HTC today only to turn it on and find the same problem. I had to call again today and complain...and the only thing they could do for me was ask me to send it in again....so pissed.
I literally got 5x FUZE replacements and each had this until this last one I've gotten...!

were they replaced through HTC or ATT?
I am on my third Fuze.
First day when I upgraded to Fuze the screen started doing this. So I took it back to AT&T for replacement. On the drive back home screen on second device started doing exact same thing. Took it back and got yet another replacement. This one works, but I have seen it happen once or twice in the 3 or 4 months I've had it.
AT&T also told me when I got this phone that it was the last exchange I could make for the 90-day exchange. If I had another problem I'd have to send this back to the company. WTF is that all about? You're going to inconvenience me because you keep giving me bad eggs? At least this one works right.
Is anyone with a Touch Pro having the same issues? Or is it all just us AT&T customers?
I have an O2 Xda Touch Pro. The only symptom I have that remotely resembles the ones listed here is the flickering at the bottom. But, in my case at least, the flickering is caused by a particular shade of gray displayed in Opera...and that's the only time it happens. So, again for me, it seems to be a software issue.
Drew
Flickering is another side affect that mine occasionally has... just in the bottom 1/5th or so of the screen... Most easily seen when in landscape mode in messaging.
those are all hardware issues too, its just only being displayed because that certain shade of grey is whats making it visibly noticeable.
Well, we'll see if replacement number 4 has the same issues soon...
They actually offered me a BlackBerry Bold/9000 as a replacement phone like it is even in the same universe.
Hardware differences?
Anyone with a buggy Fuze want to post the part number / sku number etc...? Maybe we are looking at a bad batch or a bad but unannounced hardware version?
I had this too on energyrom, I allways passed it off as a touch flow 3d opengl issue which would draw to the screen.
But thinking about it, it does occour when the device is hot, and the screen flickers also.
But It allways goes away after a soft reset for me.
Vodaphone UK TP
I have this problem too :/
Well, I just got my replacement, and it is doing it as well. I'll post some screen shots of it later on today.
Anyone want to tell me what numbers we want/need?

More Transfomer Touch Screen issues...

Just got my new TF700. Major, major touchscreen issues. But these are weird... At first it looked very much like hardware fault but the more I try and use it the more I think its software.
First off, the left hand side not as good as the right hand side. Its first turn on was not usable and its been getting little better as the hours go by. 2 days in now. Done the normal re format, drain battery and also got it warmed right up with a good turn off also. ( Elec Blanket worked great for this controlled warmup ) Nothing has made a direct impact as some others have claimed on the whole Transformer range.
Ive had to take a video of what's happening. I've turned the developer options on to indicate when the digitizer detects the touch and also the indicator when the system responses to this touch. There is clearly a delay in when the system reacts to my touch. But sadly not as clean cut as this as sometimes the digilazer doesn't even sense my touch. Notice the left hand side not as good but still does work sometimes.
http://youtu.be/aslnYafGLf0
To me there is clearly a software issue with this delay. The system response times vary's heaps especially with 10 point touches. But at other moments its not detecting my finger at all... Ive read a lot of TF101 firmware upgades have created touches not to get detected also. Still software going on here ?
My issues with Asus and repair .... I brought this from USA and brought it to New Zealand over night. Big risk yes but it does have the Asus international warranty. 2 days after the invoice date NZ has to say it can be a repair only. I understand NZ doesnt have this yet but this is a huge kick for me as the turn around time is 5 to 8 weeks to repair my 2 day old product. They will import a new screen in but not DOA on receipt date. That hurts Asus but what if its your firmware ? Could it be fixed by the firmware first ? Its nice having a RMA number already as the NZ guys are great but I dont want to be their first TF700 to pull apart as it will never be the same.
I dont feel I can root it to test it some more as they might run away from warranty. Im stuck.... My first Asus product not been a motherboard and not happy with the evidence in front of me guys, please help me out.
Holy crap, that is ridiculous! Dunno what it might be, but I would try PM-ing that vid link to one of the Asus guys on XDA.

What? I thought it was always laggy. (By touch indicator I mean the line drawing thing you enable in dev settings)
This sounds as nothing a good custom ROM shouldn't be able to fix. (Unlocked bootloader has been released today! )
My HTC One X 4.1.1 never has any lag at all. Asus TF300 has a little but not inconsistent like this. The very edge of the screen is the hardest to even work and pushing to maximise finger area helps. But its the not even seeing touches and a long swipes does not work as it cant stay locked on.... Pinch to zoom very crazy because of this.
But its looking like I am the only one which is saying hardware ?
**** Update : Wow this is a huge epic fail from Asus. My patience is fully coming to an end. Asus have not done a single thing for me on this fault that makes it unusable.
I have a software issue. Its very clear it is now. Lastnight I did another hardreset to try and get this .26 update. For the first time ever it worked, 100% worked on its first boot up. I had a really really happy half hour with it and man it felt good knowing I didnt buy the most expecince tablet dud on the market. But, I did a standby power once and Boom, back to its crap unusable old ways.
So 100% working after reset then one power down resets it to its old ways. When it did work for that 30mins its was 100% working.
Gary and Tien from Asus. These guys have both repied to me. They are not the big Asus people at all, they are just USA Asus. They havnt even done anything for me at all. A huge let down as they make themselves sound like they can help. My unit is a USA unit. They have not asked me to do any tests, offer me a test firmware or even a better video. Or ask what hardware versions I have, simple nothing and taking the piss of what they are offering to this advance community here. Not even an email saying the new update is coming out that may help.
The really bad part about this is its quite clear that the .26 update talks about upgrading the touch FW. Tien emailed me this morning saying they cant even give me a copy of this public released FW for me to fix my problems.
EPIC EPIC FAIL FROM ASUS.
What should I do everyone as im starting to think about getting on a hill a shouting this out to more than just this forum.

Hey guys, dont want to bring this post up again but think I need to to close it off.

I am pleased I stuck to my feeling of what it was. Fully credit to XDA again with getting this update as that really was weird it not on Asus's website for the guys who really did need it. I waited for the XDA Asus guys but sadly ended with no reply on my email asking for a copy of the update.

Hey, it's always nice to hear that a case actually went over to the "Resolved" bin for a change (and all that on a stock ROM update instead of the custom ROM I had put my stake on, hehe). I'd rather have threads like these revived for messages like these than the dozens of useless threads that are cropping up on XDA re-chewing regurgitated (and partly decomposed) matters.
I'm glad it worked out so well for you, and wish you all the best and a happy forum forum presence and participation in the coming future.

Hi All,
I live in Australia and received my TF700 from the US yesterday. I charged it up and then attempted to do the initial configuration where it asks you to choose a language. However the touch screen does not appear to be working – it is not responding anywhere I touch so cannot continue past this screen. Have tried cold booting (power and volume down key) multiple times but no change. I am guessing it is DOA – or is there a chance it is firmware related? I am reluctant to send back to the US as it is going to cost a fair bit...
I am going to borrow a mates keyboard dock and see if I can continue past this screen with that and then hopefully install latest firmware. It is the only thing I can think of...
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
I've recently noticed another touchscreen "issue". Apparently, the digitizer is either incompatible with the screen resolution or just a software bug. When you scroll really really slowly, you can tell it's jumping by a few pixels at a time. When you fling though, it is completely smooth. This does not affect actual usage whatsoever but I do think its an interesting thing to point out.

Mines seems to be too sensitive. I put my finger as close as I can put it to the screen and it activates whatever icon is under my finger. Doesn't annoy me only when I get near the bottom right of the screen and the panel pops up.

Good capacitive screen. You are electric, lol.
Hi Guys - thanks for the advice I appreciate it - however I decided to bite the bullet as I was dreading sending this thing back to the US etc... Anyway - so my touch screen was not working at all - so I borrowed a keyboard dock from a friend (lucky I had this option), and could then proceed to configure the device (using the keyboard of course). I then manually downloaded and installed the .26 firmware and hey presto it's a miracle - the touch screen now works perfectly! So it was a risk but I am glad I had a crack anyway. So hopefully no-one has the same issue as me but if so then this might be worth a try.
Thanks again for any feedback.

Touchscreen sensitivity issue

Hi there guys,
I've been researching on this problem i've got with my Oneplus. It seems that the touchscreen is'nt responsive enough.
Often when i'm scrolling trough (for example) facebook, the phone has a hard time recognizing my swipes, and picks up regular touches instead. Which is causing me to open or like posts when i'm just trying to scroll trough. If i'm scrolling trough my homescreens while just slightly touching the screen, it acts up really hard.
The screen just isn't responsive enough imo.
I'm wondering if other people got the same issue, and if it is hardware or software related.

Hmm, maybe you just got used to press a bit harder onto the screen (which helps). Would be great if it's really disapearing after a while

I have the exact same issue with my OnePlus after 3 weeks of use. At first it was the swype issue where the phone wasn't picking up swypes properly on the middle left side of my screen. I use a pattern unlock so it's annoying when the dots don't connect.
The next thing was not picking up my touches properly so when ever I use SwiftKey and they recommend words, I could never properly select it because the touchscreen wasn't registering properly.
I did a factory reset and it solved the problem at first but it's now back after 2 days. It's not as bad as before but still persistent. There are tons of people on Redit, Cyanogen and the OnePlus forums that are reporting the same problem.
The good news is it seems like a software and not hardware issue, hopefully the permanent fix can come soon.
Possible solution to the supposed OnePlus One touch sensitivity problem
Settings→Developer Options→ Scroll About Half Way and UNcheck "block gesture touch events"
Also try and see if unchecking "Adaptive backlight" in Settings→Display & lights→ Adaptive backlight, helps.
Of course none of these are permanent solutions. And this problem is real. But maybe the "solutions" above help.
ive not had these issues just yet. but i do get annoyed by gesture control
This still needs to be addressed. It's almost as bad as an old capacitive touch screen!
I got my phone maybe a month after it was released. After exactly 4 months the touchscreen input died and lost all sensitivity. Typing became impossible. After going back and fourth with support for 2 months they finally sent me another one. The new one was excellent for EXACTLY FOUR MONTHS!! Almost to the DAY! My damn touch is broken again and I can't type. I'm furious! I'm also 1wk outside warranty.
With the first phone I tried every hack, crack, rom, reformat, anything I could find. Nothing would restore the touch. I assume it's a hardware issue. I've been looking around for a solution but haven't found anything. If there is anything, I would appreciate some direction.
Sorry for everyone that ever wasted their money on OnePlus, I won't be getting any more products from them...
