I recently had a problem with my 1st Touch Pro with image ghosting/ burn in and ive just had it replaced. Now the same problem is happening with the new device. The problem only seams to happen with custom roms being used on the device. If i re-flash my phone back to the default/stock rom i get no screen problems at all.
Any idea why this only happens on custom roms and not the default/stock rom??
edit: ive attached an example of what i mean in image ghosting/burn in. Just in case some people wasn't sure what i meant by it.
More info?
Heya! What was the last ROM you had this problem with? Version info would be extremely helpful as I have heard that specific builds have some graphics bugs.
I've had that same issue as well on 2 different fuze's. Using various builds of EnergyROMs... However, after reflashing to stock and using it awhile, I'd get the ghosting on that too.
Anyone have any ideas?
Ehh my 2nd Fuze is doing this so I'm getting a replacement, and I'll just do the HTC ROM upgrade and keep WM6.1. I'm tired of it, and the landscape view also distorts the start menu icons 90% of the time.
Having flashed back to a stock rom, doing a hard reset... Playing with it for awhile... The ghosting is evident on it as well... I've also had where the bottom section of the screen will flicker quickly...
Anyone else?
I think it's a hardware defect. My first phone did that, and then after a few weeks, I had to get a warranty replacement because the screen eventually went completely black after doing it intermittently).
I've had both ghosting effects & occasional rapid flickering since I first bought the Fuze back in November. It's intermittent but happens most when the device is hot (either from use or simply being in a hot location). So far it always clears up after a while. This happened on the stock rom and every custom rom I've used so far.
I'm fairly certain it's a hardware issue with the Fuze/TP because the ghost will tend to remain there for a while even after a soft reset.
Hopefully my good fortune continues and it doesn't end up breaking permanently some day.
it is definitely a hardware issue.
I just received a "repaired" phone back from HTC today only to turn it on and find the same problem. I had to call again today and complain...and the only thing they could do for me was ask me to send it in again....so pissed.
I literally got 5x FUZE replacements and each had this until this last one I've gotten...!

were they replaced through HTC or ATT?
I am on my third Fuze.
First day when I upgraded to Fuze the screen started doing this. So I took it back to AT&T for replacement. On the drive back home screen on second device started doing exact same thing. Took it back and got yet another replacement. This one works, but I have seen it happen once or twice in the 3 or 4 months I've had it.
AT&T also told me when I got this phone that it was the last exchange I could make for the 90-day exchange. If I had another problem I'd have to send this back to the company. WTF is that all about? You're going to inconvenience me because you keep giving me bad eggs? At least this one works right.
Is anyone with a Touch Pro having the same issues? Or is it all just us AT&T customers?
I have an O2 Xda Touch Pro. The only symptom I have that remotely resembles the ones listed here is the flickering at the bottom. But, in my case at least, the flickering is caused by a particular shade of gray displayed in Opera...and that's the only time it happens. So, again for me, it seems to be a software issue.
Drew
Flickering is another side affect that mine occasionally has... just in the bottom 1/5th or so of the screen... Most easily seen when in landscape mode in messaging.
those are all hardware issues too, its just only being displayed because that certain shade of grey is whats making it visibly noticeable.
Well, we'll see if replacement number 4 has the same issues soon...
They actually offered me a BlackBerry Bold/9000 as a replacement phone like it is even in the same universe.
Hardware differences?
Anyone with a buggy Fuze want to post the part number / sku number etc...? Maybe we are looking at a bad batch or a bad but unannounced hardware version?
I had this too on energyrom, I allways passed it off as a touch flow 3d opengl issue which would draw to the screen.
But thinking about it, it does occour when the device is hot, and the screen flickers also.
But It allways goes away after a soft reset for me.
Vodaphone UK TP
I have this problem too :/
Well, I just got my replacement, and it is doing it as well. I'll post some screen shots of it later on today.
Anyone want to tell me what numbers we want/need?

Hey,
I had installed Faria's first WM6 rom on my phone... and I noticed that my screen alignment was shifting gradually to the left... as in the click would be registered a little to the left each time. This made it difficult to click OK and to Scroll...
I install the Tmobile 2.26 rom, WM5... the problem remains, but after a month it goes away... now my phone is working absolutely perfectly... no need to keep realigning...
I installed another version of WM6 today... Xmobile 2a or something, and after 5 minutes of using the phone the same thing begins happening!
Has anyone noticed this issue?
Some help guys/...
the same problem with me, sometimes when I tap on OK button the tap is sent to the contacts (on the lower right portion of the screen) and sometimes on the middle of the screen...
I changed the IE button to OK/Close button
Screen Alignment
Same with me!
Same here infact this is true with consolidated rom also. I tried all possible combinations of touch dll same issue. This problem is not in NBD 7.X roms
same with me and i'm using TNT 3.0 ...
hi guys screen aligment problem means your screen is faulty..roms dont cause this problem.i had same problem 2 months ago.i sent my wizard to repair.they changed my screen.now my wizard is working like a charm.no more screen aligment problem anymore with wm6(or wm5) roms.(i am using SND 2 at the moment)....HTC technician sad to me this is a big bug in all our at the wizard models.so flash with your orginal rom and send your wizard repair.you will be happy with your new screen )
I had the same problem! I eventually gave in and got a warranty replacement after the vibrator motor started to fail. So far, no problems - XM6.2a works like a charm.
Hey guys, what about the fact that there isnt any alignment problems when running WM5. I'm talking about months of no problems, then loading WM6 and they start all over again....
I've found that my alignment practically shifts depending on the way I put the phone in my pouch... it has a pretty strong magnet... is there anything with that?
Hmmm You know, this can be discussed as a hardware issue etc..
but my personal experience has been this.
WM5. No alignment issues. When I leave it in my pocket though, oftentimes I have to do the screen alignment because it seems to 'fade' and is not precise whenever I select anything in the entire screen with the stylus.
WM6. Alignment issues started happening --but, it only happens on the extreme right of the screen --the vertical scroll bar and the OK button. I oftentimes have to re-align the screen and it seems to be good for a few days/hours?
It's not a defect hardware wise that I can see because it's very specific. If it was a defective hardware, wouldn't the issue be on the entire screen?
Is it ROM related?
WM6 HTC Asian pack installed and tweaked to Cingular
Thumb swipe and screen covers ??
OK, here's a new wrinkle. I was trying to flash a wm6 ROM BECAUSE I was having screen alignment problems. Unfortunately flashing to TMobile 2.26 in preparation only seemed to make matters worse. I resigned myself to sending it in for warranty repair and flashed it to ship 1.8.11.1 WWE and I couldn't even get through the align screen sequence. Sometimes it wouldn't respond at all. Sometimes I could get the first two or three taps, then nothing. And guess what, according to my friendly Cingular (now ATT) dealer I'm 7 days out of warranty!!
The story's not over. As I morosely sat on the couch fiddling, my wife googled a couple of references to this problem being fixed by wiping your thumb across the screen ( yeah right, during a full moon with your other thumb in your ear ). It didn't work. Being the good ol gal she is she said "let me try." I humored her. First thing she tried to do was take of the screen protector (cant remember where I got it but it's the washable kind, recommended on this forum, mail order single piece that fits perfectly). I said don't bother, cause that wouldn't have anything to do with it. You guessed it. She still taunts me about it. It worked. I still have frequent misalignment or unresponsiveness, but I wipe me thumb across the screen (sometimes 2 or 3 times), and poof, it responds appropriately without even realigning! I just returned to the forum to get the ROM I was trying to flash in the first place (the reason I lost it is another long story!) and decided to post this FWIW.

I'm still leaning towards this being a hardware issue in my case. I was using WM6 for a few months before I developed any problems with screen alignment. Unfortunately, I did not check to see whether the problem wa still there after I flashed back to the manufacturer's ROM.
Wizard Screen Alignment - Fixed!
Gents,
I'm pretty sure that this is not a ROM problem at all, but a hardware issue that can be easily resolved in most circumstances without handset replacement nor opening up the case.
Specifically, it appears that the flexible mount (foam, I think) around the screen gets a bit stiff or deformed over time. The result is that the screen believes that there is constant and diffuse pressure on the right side, screwing up alignment. All that needs to be done is to slide out the keyboard and loosen the two screws on the underside of the keyboard just a bit. Pressure on the screen is released, and the problem is solved...probably semi-permanently.
That said, if you remain under warranty and are not concerned about a replacement that is a G4 or a different model altogether, by all means send it in for warranty replacement rather than messing with the screws.
I have T-Moile MDA (Wizard) Windows Mobile 6 is working fine for me, no shifting problem of screen. I'm using XDA Mobile 6 (XDA MOBILE 2a)
This is not the bug of operating system, it is the hardware problem of screen.
I have this same problem, and its definately not a hardware issue; I can go into Screen preferences and Align Screen, then it works fine for awhile. Also, restored backups of my WM5 setup are not producing this alignment problem. All WM6 ROMs I have used suffer from it.
Mine is an 8125.

Perhaps the touch.dll in WM6 is more sensitive to the foam mount problem. Have you tried loosening the two screws I mentioned and re-aligning.

I actually just bought a case off of eBay for my phone. I never replaced the screen casing, but found that the screws were loose. I tightened them, then noticed this problem. I will try loosening them and let you guys know how it goes!
amazingly, i loosen the screws and my X button seems to work a lot better with the touch dll. I will test this out for a couple days, but seems to be working pretty well now.
I don't know... That trick doesn't appear to be working for me. One thing I don't understand is how the alignment can be perfect, I let the phone sit over night and it's a centimeter off to the right. You would think if it's hardware related, actually having the phone in your pocket all day, would jar the screen around. But if it sits on my nightstand all night, and still has problems i'm not so sure i'm convinced that it's hardware. All I know is this is really annoying and I do not like having to align my screen everytime I use my phone. Maybe i'll have to get a new one since it's out of warranty.
Guys, check out:

I just posted a response about someone elses possible fix. This may be the answer.
This may also explain why one users 'loosening' the screws on the unit fixed it. Maybe it was pushing dust into the screen.
OK so maybe this doesn't work. Can anyone else try it ?
HISTORY:
Recently back from screen replacement. Currently on TNT4.0 Professional.
PROBLEM:
It seems that the bottom half is alright. Just the upper half especially on right-hand at OK buttons. I've to click almost 5mm-10mm below to actually press OK or X. It becomes apparent while writing on Notes(I use PocketNote) with handwriting. Below appx. half line it writes where the pen is touching ie perfect. But above half line, it becomes very hard to write anything at all coz of problem in alignment. The alphabets don't appear as should be with some stopping short.
I suspect it's the hardware but also could be ROM(WM6) related. I briefly tested 1908 and it seems fine but due to the lack of time, I went back to current rom.
1)If others are also having same problem then possibly a ROM related.
2)Possibly some has already a solution if it's ROM related.
3)If hardware related, then time for wizard to retire as replacing again is not worth due to the price involved.
Just want to see whether anybody else having same kind of problem in WM6.
Thanks all.
I had similar problem with my previous ROM (but dunno from who was it, but OS said still 10.x.x.x), but this problem appeared and disappeared by itself, sometimes I had to re-align screen. It happened without any obvious reason - while playing solitaire, etc. Started to suspect hw, but reflashed to latest TNT and problem solved.
I have the same issue with my mda it in the same position, top right hand corner. I just haveto realign it, then reboot. And it fixs it for awhile, then I have to do it over again. Gets very annoying, I dont know whats the problem, since it happened when I was on the stock tmobile updated rom on wm5, and it still happens when I upgraded to the wm6. Currently running the black diamond rom, but since running black diamond it doesnt happen that often.

I've started noticing issues with screen alignment as well. Initially, I seriously thought it had to do with the "TouchFlo" fad and all the related WM6 ROMs, but I had since gone back to WM5 shipped and the problem persisted. So now I am facing the sad fact that my Wizard is probably just getting too damn old!!! I see the posts all the time.....ailing battery life....misaligned screens...flaky usb ports...miniSD cards not working...etc... I looked at various prices to replace parts ( http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main.asp?area=home )- but it just doesn't seem worth it!
Let's see how prices look for the Kaiser early next year... Or perhaps if I-mate gets their act together and produces hardware that lasts...
check this thread out, i tried the last suggestion, and it work awhile.
same ting here, but for me the problem occures on the bottum, at the softkeys. Most problem occures at the bottum left side. I also tried loading WM5 stock ROM (Qtek or T-Mobile) but without any improvement...
When aligning I also need to press the covering at the bottom left side, else I can't even align the screen....
In deed it seem to look for a new device will be the only good solution...

nope, i am using OLD mun.,..
my bad i forgot to paste the thread, but pretty much what the person did was use thier thumb and and wipe the screen with it. I did that and it worked quite well. I also installed the battary status app the beta version that is up on thier site, and have the cpu scaler enabled, and omap enabled with all options on.
omap overclock set at 247
CpuScaler
Min 143
Org 195
Max 247
Boost 260
Since i did this the screen alignment issue has disappeared, working great. Has been going good for a day and 8 hrs.
Try it and see, since this problem with the screen alignement is quite mysterious.
I think native12, is right. I have two Wizards (one OK one bad) and one Hermes. The bad Wizard was replaced by KPN, who told me that its a known problem, works fine now. The Hermes is even worse 1 cm out after half an hour.
YUP ! very true our ol'wizard are aged wearing out and goners
but certainly not a Rom upgrade malfunction,I must say only due to hardware malfunction or wearing out,
My story goes like this:
I've been having this realignment symptoms for over 6 months now but it got worse during the Summer. I used to have a protection film and read somewhere that the pressure it applied on the screen was responsible for the misalignment. By this time that was happening several times a day so i took the film off and it appeared to be the solution. It wasn't... after two weeks or so it came back and i started considering applying for warranty replacement or repair.
I have a friend that works at the official dealer repair center and offered to take my Wizard for observation regarding this matter. He saw i was running a WM6 customized ROM and was concerned that the repair guys would complain about void warranty so i decided to downgrade it to the original shipped ROM: 1.06 WWE
So he took it and in less than a week i had it back. You wanna know what they did? They upgraded it to WWE 2.17... HAHAHAHAHA After the large amount of ROMs flashed and countless times i read and flashed it to test WST they upgrade the device to solve a hardware issue.
Man, that almost makes me not want to send it back for the real repair/replacement...

THAT"S IT
Asking "how" is like travelling through space in 3 seconds...(nice one )
It got worst from bad after using "search" function- with those cutting card method, screen protector off things. Now even the screen calibration never ends.
No....even can't sleep as "KAISER" is on my head.
I am having a very weird, and oddly repeating hardware problem with my HTC TP.
My original one started having this problem about 3 months after I bought it. The problem had two aspects - the screen appears as if the LCD material in it has moved or changed format (see image below) - and the touch function of it became problematic, often identifying the press in the wrong location.
I gave it to the vendor during warranty, and after some issues with the lab was offered a new device (it was indeed brand new, battery date indicated that). The new device - after less than a month - started having the exact same problem! (I'm giving it for repair tomorrow)
Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is this just a streak of bad luck? or am I doing anything bad to my devices? As far as I know - I'm not doing anything bad to them - the 2nd one was so short with me it haven't even dropped once. And before that I had a imate KJAM for 2.5 years without such problems.
Ideas?
It looks like too much pressure was applied to the LCD screen.
it is odd though - especially as it occured in such a short time on my new device, and I have not done anything especially bad to it
it definitely has the "feel" of a pressed LCD, but this is during rest. btw - in both times it was just the center area, and both cases a very similar size problem.
the only type of pressure I can think of is when it is in my pocket, but comeon, I am quite positive HTC did not design a device that can not withstand being in a pocket.....
it's a random defect that some screens get
and also a sign of worse things to come I believe
had a friend who bought a new one and it already had
it when it got it he of cause sendt it back
so I just coincidently got two of them ?!
That's quite jinxy
anyway - got today back my first phone, repaired (screen replaced).
Let's hope this doesn't re-appear.
Ofer.
sorry a little off the mark

i dont know if anybody has had this or a similar problem but i finally got my phone where i want it. i am running 6.5 on my fuze the only issue i am having is the phone dosent give me any vocal notification when someone is calling me while i am on the phone. i have already made sure that call waiting is set to notify me in the phone services but still dosent beep. if someone calls me it does come through cause if i am looking i can see it just dont hear it. it even alerts me after the fact telling me i have a missed call. just not during
I love my Touch Pro - really I do, its got all the features I want currently (except a digital compass would be good with some AR software, but that's not important roght now).
However, having got my first TP back in February I am about to send my handset back yet again as it has died again.
The first handset had a serious problem with battery drain and switching itself on (ie screen on) when not in use - I posted here about this at the time (clicky).
The o2 UK repair centre (Anovo) first of all said they'd fixed the fault, but after two weeks the phone was doing the same again - I did confirm this was not a software issue by running it ofr two weeks without any of my usuall applications on it.
So it went back again and was returned 'No Fault Found'.
At this point I demended a replacement handset. The replacement I received (a refurbished unit) had a speaker fault - crackling whenever the speaker activated, ie before a call connected and during.
That one went back as well and I ended up with an SE X1 for a while. OK but not a Touch Pro (and wouldn't run my legitimately purchased Tom Tom Nav 5 s/w). This was because o2 UK said they had no more stock of the Touch Pro and wouldn't be getting any more (why? too many problems with it?)
Eventually I got a call from o2 after numerous letters of complaint saying that they were going to exchange the SE X1 for a brand new boxed Touch Pro.
I have had this brand new replacement since August now.
About a month ago it died on me again. It just wouldn't switch on. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery resulted in the flash on the back flashing, the handset vibrating (as though it was starting up) but nothing else.
Connecting the charger resulted in the flash on the back flashing bright about every second.
A hard reset would not work at this stage.
After a couple of days I heard the 'battery low' sound from the drawer that it was stashed in. SO tried a hard reset again - nothing. Tried a hard reset again with the charger plugged in and it reset and cam back to life.
... for two weeks...
then it died again.
This time is very similar to last with theflash falshing thing, except that if I try a hard reset it seems to go through the motions but without the screen coming on (ie the vibration. The beeping sound. Click the volume down and it pings again as though its starting the reset, then about a minute later the vibration again as though its restarting after the reset). But the screen doesn't come on at all. And the lights don't light up on the front buttons or the keypad.
Unfortunately I didn't have myMobiler installed on the handset so I couldn't try connecting to it from my PC (myMobiler did try installing but as I couldn't click the 'OK' button it didn't complete).
So. Are my four deaths of the TP unique or has anyone else had similar problems with this handset?

Not I.
I have had my Touch Pro (AT&T's HTC Fuze) since December 2008 and I have not had a single real problem with it. I say "real" because I have had times when I couldn't get a GPS lock and of course the phone is slow sometimes, but that's what I've come to expect from HTC.

you need the 1.14.25.35 radio. and a different rom. maybe atts 5.11 rom if you want to still keep it stock. 1.14.25.35 is atts radio too so that stock and wont void your warranty as well.
Fuze Died Today, I Think
I've used this fuze since December of 2008 and have been quite pleased with the performance. (considering that it IS Windows) My signature radio works quite well in the mid west North America and travels well through different data protocols. Like H to Edge to GPRS and back to 3G again.
Today I flashed a new rom via usb and now it won't pass the splash screen. That flash appeared normal in all respects. Tried several hard resets (to the bootloader screen) and have tried to re-flash a different rom via micro sd card.
I've begun to think that this may be a hardware failure and would appreciate any advise for troubleshooting. Keep in mind that device will NOT connect via usb.
my screen went white a couple days ago. it would end up showing the windows logo for a while then a white screen. i hard reset a few times but nothing worked so i reloaded atts 5.11 rom and now it just stays at the "initial setup of the touchflo interface may take serveral minutes please wait" screen and wont get passed. i saw another thread about the white screen months back but i cant find it again. im just gonna wait till they have tilt2s and claim it under warranty. im gonna miss having flash, i use it to light up everything, but im sure a larger screen will make up for it.
Well I now have a bit more info on this since the phone cam eback from 'repair'on Saturday.
All they had done at the repair centre was to 'reload software' (their words, not mine). ie I guess they flashed the ROM again.
It worked for a day, though I guessed that was more coincidence than anything - after all, when this handset first did this a few weeks before it suddenly started working again a few days later.
Luckily in that time I'd remembere to install MyMobiler this time, and so when the screen died I connected to my laptop and fired up a remote view of the phone.
The screen itself was dead, but everything else seemed to be working on the phone - except that while the screen was dead I had an error displayed on screen. The error was "MicropERROR" as attached here.
So I Googled the error message, and what a shock a nice long thread on XDA-dev about it. Seems it s a fairly common problem with the Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch HD. Joy!
So the phone is now back with 'o2' again for another 'repair' this time with the attcahed screenshot enclosed. I have been warned again, though, that the Serra is out of stock and if they can't repir it I may have to select a substitute. As far as I am concerned there is no substitute - there is no other phone at the mo with the Touch Pro's features (hardware keyboard, VGA/WVGA screen, A-GPS, g-sensor, WinMo, runs TomTom Nav5).
I fear the worst again, and fear I'm back where I was in July with an impossible choice to make thanks to o2 UK discontinuing the Serra / Touch Pro after a few months of supplying it.

well i got my TP back in March.09 and last month i have to replace the mother board and the back speaker other than that all is good so far
but i was so frustrated with HTC support centre (which is the main one in Taiwan ) real unpleasant experience as you all may know
Cheers!
Time to send mine back
Just had an issue with my last one, it was only 5 months old and the screen started looking like it had a vertical hold issue. Just got my refurbished one in Wednesday and now it is doing the same thing after playing games on it for 5 minutes. The speaker phone is crackling too for some reason and when charging it at night it's like the screen will not fully black out. I am wondering if I even want to try another one of HTCs products or not. Nice phones but to many headaches it seems.
I've read a few threads on the screen Flickering and there doesn't seem to be any resolution .
I'm on my 3rd tablet now (thanks best buy accident damage warranty!) And this one is flickering worse lately than ever. I updated to the latest firmware, yesterday only to boot up to horrible bouts of flickering during the setup screens.
The odd thing is, there seem to be no consistency to it. Some days it's so had I can't even use the thing, other days it doesn't happen at all. I use the tablet every day for notes or PDF viewing. I've used it with no magnetic cover (totally naked) and with the cover.. doesn't seem to change the occurrences.
I've turned overlays on/off force gpu render on/off.. nothing seems to fix it. Sometimes changing the overlay will reduce the flickering other times it doesn't affect it at all.
I hate to say it, but if I can't resolve it, I'm going to be forced to move to the surface 3.
I'm an electrical engineer and I've done as much trouble shooting as I can think to do.. but I've come up empty handed.
Anyone else have these problems? Has anyone found a definitive fix?
I sent mine back 3 times. The first was a reset. Thanks for wasting my time. The second was a motherboard and that didn’t do it. The third time they did a motherboard, digitizer, and usb port. It's finally stable and back to normal. After 5 trips back, the BB warranty triggers a new unit. Check if it triggers a refund.
I get it occasionally, so far I'm able to resolve it by booting into custom recovery (TWRP) and clearing dalvic to allow all apps to rebuild. Sometimes this resolves it for a few days, sometimes a couple of weeks. Its a repeatable "fix" that makes me question if the issue is related to memory or trim or something like that. Kind of reminds me of how with the first generation nexus 7s one would see slow downs after a while and filing storage with fake data then deleting it would improve performance for a while.
I'm definitely not a tender user of the device. I go back and forth between multiple ROM's and kernels on a daily basis testing what is testable, and unfortunately also what is not. Anyway, even though mine was bought as refurbished on eBay, I have never had any issues like the ones you describe. More specifically, I have never had any issues what-so-ever, that was not created due to my own ignorance. To me the device seems indestructible.
Besides, I would hate to be in the place of my device, or I would definitely have turned schizophrenic. Should I feel bad about pushing it through all this?
Because we're trying to figure out if it's related to a specific device type, which one do you have? P900, 905, 907A or another?

P900 wifi. Us version bought at best buy.
Today the tablet has been rock solid, I have literally done nothing between when it was flickering like mad and now.
I wonder if it might be related to some kid of data transfer. either over wifi, or when data is written or read from storage or SD card. I've take then SD card out to eliminate that as the problem.
Mine was P900 from BB
Issue lies with the screen.
This happened with me I sent it back to Samsung, 3 times. They seem to have finally got it right. They replaced the battery and then the display screen. Now it appears to be working I will let you know after a month if it is still good. They also told me that they will not replace the device even though I bought it and the issue was right from the start. Not even 6 months old. When working the device is excellent.
Ah, so now we know for sure the battery is replaceable. That's good news. Maybe someday our batteries will no longer hold a charge and we can replace it. Now for a good video on tear down and what tools to use to do that and where to get a replacement battery. I know it's early for most of us but someday......we will have to replace that battery. I'm one of those that keep my toys (computers/laptops/tablets/phones,) for many years.
Mine is running like new since last service. Getting the BB Geek Squad warranty has paid for itself already. I get 2 years on anything over $500.
Mine is a p900. I purchased from samsung website. Mine has been doing it fresh out of box. So bummed.
Ive had my 12.2 since march and it recently started flickering. It seems to tuen of the screen for a millisecond especially when lots of refreshes happen. Like scrolling a pdf. A few days back it was bad. Now it has gotten better and I havent noticed anything.

My P900 has just begun flickering exactly as you describe. So I should just be patient and hope it goes away by itself?
I'm flickering again. Turning the screen brighter is what triggers it for me. Returning to stock just to get it back and have it flicker again to hit the magic 5 returns may be what I have to do.

I just followed this guide. Its been a week now, not had any flickering since I did it.

Lifting the motherboard only temporary close the gaps of cracked battery connector. The permanent fix need to do: re solder the battery connector.
Look closely under magnified glass or microscope , you'll see the cracked solders. You can test by pushing the connector slightly, a bad one will move easily or lift off from its solder joints.
This video was removed from the poster after I pointed out his guessing solution. Flickering screen has nothing to do with LCD connector on the motherboard.
Lifting mother board actually you're applying pressure on the battery connector from rear cover.
I have had my P900 sent to Samsung service twice without having the screen flicker fixed. I thought this was a known problem and that Samsung themselves should be aware of it? Maybe I should supply some XDA links next time...

Depend on where you send for service, they know how to fix it now. Service Centers actually are contractors provide services for Samsung and others, the fact that most people don't know.

It Works. Battery connector replaced. Smoooooth
After 2 visits to Samsung , my unit finally works fine.
Motherboard and LCD were changed first time. But issue persisted.
Second time, battery connector was replaced. Since then it has worked very very smoothly.

Thanks, missed that other thread. Next time, I'll send them an en explicit request to replace the battery comnector, and refer to those two threads.
