The icons on the homescreen that you are suppose to be able to remove wont delete. When I press and hold on an icon it just opens the app. It wont let me drag it to remove it from the homescreen. If I want it gone I have to completely uninstall it. The htc widgets will let me remove but nothing else. I am using fresh Ron 1.1. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Reboot once or twice.

So I Installed some cab, for customizing and then removed it. But now before sense starts the background is some image.
When I press the windows start button, the app tray has the same image.
I cant find out how to remove it, or fix it back to normal.
Anyone know how? thanks
Settings Tab - Menu - All Settings - Today. Then browse for the image you want to use as your windows background.
You rock, I would have never found that! thanks
I installed launcherpro and really it. when switching back and forth from twlauncher and launcherpro i accindently checked make twlauncher default when bottom home key is pressed. how do i undo that so it doesn't switch to twlauncher everytime I hit the home button at the bottom of the phone. Thanks
You must uninstall and re-install launcher pro.

You don't have to reinstall launcher pro. You can download an app called Home Switcher from the market. Its free

yes i have home switcher and it does not fix this problem. still everytime i press home (bottom row below the samsung). I should also note this is a froyo phone.
I have a question regarding LauncherPro also. To be safe, should I disable it, or uninstall it, before updating to JF7? I just got my new phone few days ago and still on JF6..
I switched mine to twlauncher just to be sure.
corrected by starting phone in recovery starting with vol buttons pressed and then deleted user data. had to set up phone again but oh well
technut963,
If this happens to you again, in Froyo all you have to do is click settings, applications, manage applications, on the top bar click All, then go down and click TwLauncher, then clear default. Then hit the home button and you should be asked what one you want to use and set it as default again.
I simply setup a shortcut that links to Activities -> TwLauncher and one for LauncherPro on the phone. As for adjusting the default see above.

home screen.
When I hold the icon appears able to move, but just as it freezes. It is interesting that the icons can be placed on display, but they can not move. Otherwise, everything works smoothly.
Today I re-installed the RUU (RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.28.707.2_Radio_10.43.9007.00P_10.11.9007.19_M_release_193173_signed), but still without success. I think it's a software bug ..
That's just weird. Can you add shortcuts through long-pressing, or just through the Personalize menu? Does long pressing work anywhere else?
Maybe try downloading another launcher app and see if you can add/remove widgets and shortcuts there, just to try to narrow it down.

So I have an Android Head Unit for my car and it has 5.1.1 on it. I rooted it with KingRoot and disabled Launcher after installing Apex Launcher.
The issue I have is that no matter what I do I can't add any widgets! I hold the screen select widgets and select any widget then i drag it to an empty screen and it pops up telling me that by adding this widget Apex will have access to its content or something like that. There is a checkbox and I select it and hit ok but nothing happens. I try and don't select the checbox and nothing happens. Even tried to use Nova and Arrow Launcher but exactly the same issue there too. I even moved these from data to system but still nothing.
Please somebody help me out I am pulling my hair out with this one. Just can't figure it out.

When I place an icon on my home screen I am unable to remove it from the screen or uninstall it from the home screen.
Long pressing an icon does not reveal a remove or delete option. I have no idea how I've done this, and I can't figure a way to undo it. I have no third party launchers. I have restarted my phone. I have cleared the default launcher cache.
Any ideas? Thank you very much!
SOLVED: I didn't want to do it, but factory resetting fixed the issue. No idea what created my issue, but resetting fixed it. Thanks anyone who looked at this.

Have you tried to Long Press and move it? Then you should See the Option at the top of the Screen.

Long pressing does not work.
Long pressing and moving icons does not show a remove option on my home screen.
I have a suspicions that uninstalling Nova Launcher might have disabled the option? Or an OS update might have done it? I just bought the phone earlier this month. I use to be able to remove the icons. Just in the last few days, the option has gone away.
